When I was 15, a friend of mine introduced me to the Dead Kennedys. Their speed, intricacy, lighting beats, compositional originality, and lyrically direct, raw facts and truth about the corrupt, racist system that exists in this country were a timely and well needed wake-up call for me, and still deeply influential to this hour. D.H. Peligro was THE cornerstone of that influence-and while there were and are many others, he was one of the strongest, loudest, fastest-and 100% on point and in view in a subculture and nation that still likes to pretend to itself that we don’t exist in wider form-creatively and politically. I mourn him deeply-and send my deepest condolences to his family and all who lived and respected him-for his skill, his presence, and for standing in truth, simply by way of his existence-whether he was trying to or not. -Jared Hasan Foles (Jaritto) D.H. Peligro passed away in his Los Angeles home yesterday, Oct 28th. He died from trauma to his head from an accidental fall.
