One Year.

One Year ago today, an odd 4 million people said goodbye. Goodbye to a years worth of memories, a years worth of laughter, a years worth of fun. We gathered together in the final 12 hours, and said our farewells.  That year meant so much to so many people – whether it was for the content, the message, or the community – and still does even after its death.

We were asked what we would do if we only had one year left to live, if we would take it or let it just slip away. They only had one year, and they did their absolute most to make an impact on so many peoples lives, if only by a bit. Even another year later, we all still remember. We all still cherish the memories made that year – they reminded us that, even if something ends, its memory can live on.

To Mark, Ethan, Amy, and everyone else who helped make that otherwise drab year that much better, thankyou.

At midnight Pacific Standard Time on November 13th, 2020, a million of the 4.5 million people who had come to love Unus Anuus tuned into the livestream to say goodbye.

It's been a year.

Already.

How did you spend it?

We waited and prepared and mourned and remembered. Remembered the time we all spent together to say good bye, the time we spent falling in love with something, knowing we were going to lose it.

This remembrance blog is a scrapbook of sorts. A remembrance of those times, of that community, of what we loved and lost. here you will find memes, quotes, fan creations, out of context screenshots, and much more. This is not a blog designed to resurrect Unus Annus. it is simply a place for those of us who remember to gather and share.

Favorite Memory from Unus Annus.

I don't really wanna feel sad about the end right now so I wanted to know what everyones favorite video, memory, and quote was from this past year of Unus Annus. They did such an amazing job and I still can't believe I was able to participate in some way even though I was very late. So I ask you all to please share a happy memory from this past year and be thankful that even if you didn't catch much (like me) you were still there and you were a price of a beautiful project and adventure. I Was There

I know this isn’t like my usual content but I feel like I just need to express myself. So I’ve been following a little youtube channel called Unus Annus and if you didn’t know they just deleted their channel like they’ve been saying they would from the very beginning. I was here from 365:00:00:00 and I stayed up till 3:00 in the morning to finish the final livestream. I never doubted that they were going to delete the channel but the year just went by so quickly. It felt like the end was so far away at the beginning but look where we are now. After the 30 minute mark my blood kept running cold with every milestone. I didn’t cry, but chills ran through my body and my hair stood on end when it happened. I didn’t have the most emotional response but it effected me in a different way. I always found the “We’re gonna delete the channel” thing a little gimmicky but when it actually happened I understood. Especially after Mark and Ethan talked about how they wanted people to feel when they deleted the channel. I thought I wasn’t going to care, but here I am 20 minutes later writing about it. I might feel loss today but I know I'll get over it tommorrow. I’ll move on with my life. But for tonight, I’ll relish in the experience and tommorrow I’ll keep moving ahead and appreciate Unus Annus for what it was. The Earth will keep turning, the clock will keep ticking, but at least I can say #IWasThere
