CHARACTER SUMMARY

the  youngest  of  three  children  adopted  by  a  media  mogul,  adopted  as  a  toddler  mostly  for  the  optics  after  a  particularly  nasty  scandal.  nevertheless,  they  were  by  far  their  father’s  favourite,  doted  upon  and  spoilt  absolutely  rotten.

no  expense  was  spared  in  their  upbringing  —  the  most  prestigious  private  schools,  the  best  tutors,  all  the  latest  and  greatest  kit.  anything  to  distract  from  the  fact  that  their  father  was,  in  fact,  very  absent  from  their  life  growing  up  and  they  were  raised  mostly  by  nannies.

kind  of  a  nightmare  child  to  deal  with  growing  up,  at  least  within  the  home.  has  caused  at  least  five  nannies  to  quit  in  their  first  week  and  go  home  crying  throughout  the  course  of  their  childhood.  outside  of  the  home  and  around  their  father,  though,  they  were  always  the  perfect  little  angel. 

absolutely  dominated  at  every  after  school  activity  from  the  ages  of  five  to  about  thirteen,  due  to  a  terribly  pervasive  competitive  streak  that  was  great  for  winning  but  not  so  great  for  making  friends.  thankfully,  they  mostly  grew  out  of  it  by  the  time  high  school  rolled  around  --  although  it  does  rear  its  ugly  head  from  time  to  time.

it  was  also  around  high  school  that  they  started  experimenting  with  style  and  gender,  growing  into  a  personality  of  their  own  --  one  that  was  far  more  accepting,  open  -  minded  and  rebellious  than  her  father's.  the  two  clashed  often,  family  dinners  becoming  a  battlefield  of  barely  restrained  passive  aggressiveness  that  almost  inevitably  culminated  in  full  -  blown  screaming  matches.

in  an  almost  comically  predictable,  cartoon  villain  -  like  move,  their  father  cut  them  off  a  few  days  after  their  eighteenth  birthday  --  with  the  only  warning  they  got  being  a  call  from  their  bank  telling  them  their  credit  card  was  cancelled.  what  followed  was  a  so  called  "gap  year"  in  which  they  mooched  off  of  their  friends,  went  clubbing  every  night  and  did  a  lot  of  drugs  #selfdiscovery

applied  to  langston  because  their  friends  were  going  there,  not  expecting  to  get  in  and  being  pleasantly  surprised  when  they  did.  blackmailed  their  dad  into  paying  for  tuition  by  revealing  all  the  dirt  they  had  collected  on  him  by  bugging  their  house  when  they  were  a  teenager  😁

PERSONALITY

very  morally  grey,  believes  that  the  good  ends  justify  the  dubious  means.  quick  to  anger  at  any  perceived  slights,  intended  or  otherwise.  brutally  honest  ,  often  to  the  point  of  being  cruel  –  in  their  defense  ,  they  do  like  it  when  people  are  honest  back.  very  much  a  do  now,  think  later  type  of  person  used  to  out  -  running  or  paying  their  way  out  of  sticky  situations.  loyal  to  a  fault  if  they  consider  you  a  friend,  but  will  never  trust  someone  again  if  love  is  lost  once.  holds  a  grudge  like  no  other  .  generally  a  good  time  at  parties,  will  never  back  down  from  a  dare  no  matter  how  dangerous  or  gross  .
