I think one of the things I love the most about Haikyuu is that even though the whole manga comes from a place of love from Furudate who created the story specifically to get people into volleyball, there is nothing to make you feel bad about not wanting to play anymore
There are characters who are completely obsessed with volleyball. There are characters who aren't obsessed but are interested enough to keep going. There are characters who weren't into it but did it anyway and then just couldn't stop. There are characters who started doing volleyball and then realized they didn't like it anymore, then left and were better for it. There are characters who are like "this was cool and it was nice but I don't want to do this forever". There are characters who never play but still support the teams anyway
And the story validates every single one of these experiences. There's no "this experience is better than that experience", there are just characters who like it, don't like it, are obsessed with it or can appreciate everything that happens in a game regardless of their feelings towards it
It's just really nice to go through the story and feel the whole acceptance through the writing itself, to see that Furudate is encouraging you to try volleyball, to experience how fun it can be, and if it's not fun for you or you fell out of love with it or just don't want to do it anymore, then that's fine! At least you experienced it! At least you tried! At least you learned something about yourself! And hopefully you made friends along the way!
Haikyuu inspires people to try something new but never does it show a characters negative feelings or lack of feelings towards it as invalid and wrong. It just encourages you to do what makes you happy. I really appreciate that

One of my favorite things about Udai Tenma is that throughout the series, Haikyu sets him up to be kind of a Big (little) Thing.
Like, Hinata goes on and on about how amazing he is and how inspirational watching him play was. And he's always talked about with, like, reverence, because he was the star player when Karasuno was in their heyday. There's so much hype built up around him that it seems he's become larger than life; he is, after all, *the* Little Giant and he's kind of a Big Deal.
He's incredibly important to the story, but kept sort of shrouded in mystery. He's Karasuno's #10. The star player. The Little Giant. His actual name isn't even revealed until much, much later in the series.
And then he turns up at the tournament and it's this moment where Hinata gets to meet his hero, f i n a l l y and he's just
Tumblr media
Because after all that, he's just some guy.
He's not the man, the myth, the legend. He's just some nerdy college student, living a regular life.
And it's interesting, I think, to explore how he was built up so much throughout the course of the series. It was done so well, in a way that seemed to build anticipation for this moment where he and Hinata would cross paths. You were only ever treated to glimpses of him, but still had an idea of what to expect, and then he just turned out to be the complete opposite of what he was set up to be and it's kind of weirdly satisfying.
Then he comes back later looking like this
Tumblr media
and that's somehow even better.

6 Facts about Serenity Ukai
Serenity Ukai is an OC Haikyuu character the half younger sister of Tenma Udai and the No. 13 on the Karasuno all boys volleyball team having been invited by Daichi due to his promise to play volleyball with her in high school. Serenity has pale white hair that is always up in a ponytail. Her skin is a smooth brown color that Shoyo states glimmer when the sun hits it and her eyes are a ruby red that was once shadowed but brightened up over time.
Her embodiment. Serenity embodies trust issues, having been backstabbed, bullied and mocked for being adopted many times causing her to break down mentally to the point she hardly trusts anyone but a select few who manages to break through to her and give her some help. These trust issues play a major part in her growth, learning that not everyone is out to embarrass or backstab her but rather there are people out there who will walk beside her and help her grow as her own person. Her trust issues begin to come to an end during the march with Shiratorizawa in which the others celebrate her smile on the court before resuming the game.
Love interest. Serenity's love interest of Kenma Kozume of Nekoma. She first meets Kenma during the Training Camp in which he embarrasses himself in front of her by asking if she wanted to learn how to play his game in which Kuroo calls it love at first sight. Serenity ignores Kenma for the majority of the time, finding him boring, tacky and useless but quickly eats her words when he proves to be a formidable opponent. Their relationship secretly grows on and off screen with Serenity having lots of texting and phone calls conversations with Kenma and even playing games he recommended to her when she was taking a break from practicing. In the timeskip the two are revealed to be married and living a happy comfortable life together.
Tenma Udai. Tenma, the former Little Giant, is confirmed to be Serenity's half elder brother and the one who pulled her out of that dark space. Tenma first appears after wanting to reach out to Serenity when he finds out they're related but gets harshly rejected, despite that he gives her a few encouraging words which makes her have a mental crisis a out whether she should trust her teammates, zoning out on the court. Serenity snaps out of it when she hears a voice call her name and looks to see Tenma holding a sign that says "Go Serenity, my Little Sister", which brings her back to reality and starts the end of her trust issues. This also begins their sibling relationship, Tenma and Serenity becoming close as time goes on.
Serenity's parents. Serenity was dropped off when she was a baby at an orphanage and lived there until she ran into Keishin Ukai who states that he adopted her because she clung to his pants leg and refused to let go. She has a stable relationship with her adoptive father who didn't support her being on the boys team at first but later puts his faith in her and lets her know that he believes in her. Family wise they're a usual father-daughter Dynamic, having funny moments and serious moments with one another. Even the boys, Kiyoko and Yachi state that they have an envious relationship with each other.
Serenity's main goal. After starting to get over her trust issues, Serenity's goal was to prove that women are as great as men. Even when talked down upon by Tendou about her lacking skills, she remained strong and bit back at him without hesitation. She always does her best in each Volleyball Match, showing no fear when going up against stronger opponents. In the timeskip, Serenity is revealed to be apart of the Men's National Volleyball Team and the MSBY Black Jackal, having been scouted by them due to her performance in her youth and this bringing her closer to her goal.

The Officials of CBI, Hyderabad have been inching close to solving the entire case of YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case. Today the officials have argued against Avinash Reddy by revealing stunning facts regarding the case. After the participation of YS Avinash Reddy, CBI officers in their latest arguments in the Court stated that they have gathered all the information and evidence against the accused members and concluded that the entire plot was a 40 crore deal. They added that the accused Avinash Reddy was in Jammalamadugu when this murder took place and his phone was busy with calls regarding the murder plot. Officials, however, stated that Avinash despite sitting four times for questioning didn’t cooperate with them but they had enough evidence to corner him. Since Avinash’s bail petition is up for hearing, CBI claimed that the murderers met Avinash Reddy before it had happened but they will find out why Avinash Reddy and Bhaskar Reddy tried to make the murder look like a natural death. Political experts opine that since the evidence is against Avinash Reddy and the fact that Bhaskar Reddy and Uday failed to get bail, chances are less for the Kadapa MP to get anticipatory bail as well.

Interview: Authors of Sanjeev Kumar’s Biography Decode His Life And Career
Sanjeev Kumar continues to be an enigma. The Surat-born legendary actor and his choice of films, even today, can be studied for one to understand how performances and brilliant storylines can create history. Perhaps millennials remember him from Sholay, that film which makes their parents hark back to their younger selves, an age that they say was Golden. But films like Aandhi and Seeta Aur Geeta reveal a completely new side to him that undoubtedly made him a cut above the rest. On Saturday, his nephew Uday Jariwala and Reeta Ramamurthy Gupta released his biography titled Sanjeev Kumar, the Actor We All Loved
Tumblr media
“I conceptualised the book in 2018, simply because I was shocked to know that  no one had made a book about him before,” reveals Ramamurthy, adding: “Finally, when I saw Shatranj Ke Khiladi- my mind was made up. I had to write this book- the film features on Martin Scorsese’s list of 40 films you must watch before you die.” She recollects her father humming his songs when she was a child. “My father used to keep singing ‘thande thande pani se nahaana chahiye’ - that is embedded memory. It was much later that I registered that the song was picturised on Sanjeev Kumar.”

Fiend idk if you read One Piece but you have an ODA level of world-building skills! That’s why everyone is always waiting for your comics! anywhoooo what are your silly little hcs (that you can share for now) from you single Dad Osamu au?
oh i dont. i watched the first season with my siblings tho. but that was yeeeeaaaarrss ago lmao but man, i'll take your word for it hahah thank you!!
ummmmm as for single dad osamu au
one thing i could disclose is that udai and akaashi went to osaka to get references for udai's current series.
but what i didn't say is that udai's in a cast. his dominant hand got sprained (like bad sprain) and he was given a week's rest. but within that week the publishing company's still asking for drafts.
so, akaashi is dead set on only getting references and go straight back to tokyo within the day. (when akaashi was waiting for udai to go to their set-up destination, that's when he met masa)
but later that afternoon (after taking the pics and the info they needed), when they were about to buy their tickets, udai laments that he wont be able to use his hand to draw anything, let alone produce drafts within the week and that he begs akaashi for an extension. ofc it's out of akaashi's hands but he begs to the head honcho for udai.
head honcho sends a thumbs up and gave udai two weeks of rest. however, now they want drafts and an outline for another chapter.
that sent udai in a mood and kept pestering akaashi about staying the whole week at osaka as a vacay but sure they can do work stuff too whatever, he just wants to rest in the first week the publishing company gave to him.
akaashi agrees bc he knows udai won't budge if he even tried to argue.
so they stayed in that one week and masa met akaashi again. there's a whole other bunch of scenes crammed in between This. i just dont know how to inject it in there without revealing Too Much lmao
The whole week where akaashi and udai stayed in osaka are chapters 2 and 3

haikyuu characters as people you'll have a crush on in high school ♡
warnings: gender neutral reader
a/n: i miss having school crushes </3
Tumblr media
— your best friend's super hot, slightly out of your league, older brother, who playfully ruffles your hair and pinches your cheek teasingly, leaving you with butterflies in your stomach every time:
matsukawa issei, kuroo tetsurou, hirugami sachirou, oikawa tooru, ukai keishin
— the school's very own future d-1 athlete, who is surprisingly kind despite their immense talent. you tell yourself that you're not the kind to fall for a jock, but still find yourself daydreaming about them in your fourth period chemistry class:
bokuto koutarou, ojiro aran, yaku morisuke, ohira reon
— the mysterious and aloof one in your english class, who doesn't say a lot, unless the occasion calls for it. you'd pay much more than a penny to see what kind of thoughts fill their pretty head:
kageyama tobio, ushijima wakatoshi, kiyoko shimuzu, kozume kenma, sakusa kiyoomi
— the one who sits with you in the back of your least favorite class, where you two do everything except what you're supposed to be. if their dream job doesn't work out, you swear they could become a comedian:
nishinoya yuu, shirofuku yukie, hoshiumi kourai, tendou satori, fukunuga shouhei, suna rintarou, tanaka saeko
— the absolutely adorable one in your art class, who saves your unassigned assigned seat every day and has a smile that is more captivating than any artwork that you could ever create:
yachi hitoka, haiba alisa, udai tenma, yamaguchi tadashi, shibayama yuuki, sugawara koushi
— the "golden retriever stuck in a human's body" one, who always has way too much pep at eight in the morning. even so, their energy is infectious, and they never fail to make you smile, even on the gloomiest of days:
komori motoya, hinata shoyo, haiba lev, inouka sou, akagi michinari, koganegawa kanji, goshiki tsutomu
— your seatmate in homeroom, who never fails come through in your time of need. they always offering you a writing utensil with a smile, and insists with a wave of their hand that you keep it afterwards:
akaashi keiji, kita shinsuke, iwaizumi hajime, sawamura daichi, semi eita, azumane asahi, nobuyuki kai, ennoshita chikara
— the school bad boy, who is actually, really, really bad at being a bad boy. your heart flutters when he reveals to you his true, dorky nature. you like that version of him much more than the other ones, you soon come to realize:
terushima yuuji, tanaka ryuunosuke, yamamoto taketora, suguru daishou
— the one who playfully flirts with you like their life depends on it. despite the way your eyes roll at their lingering touches and their teasing winks, a part of you still yearns for the day they'll give you a little more:
konoha akinori, futakuchi kenji, hanamaki takahiro, yahaba shigeru, miya atsumu
— the jaded and indifferent one, who seems to be over everything about this town. well, except you, of course. they've developed a soft spot for you, and it makes your heart a little warmer than you'd like to admit:
kawanishi taichi, kyoutani kentarou, miya osamu, kuguri naoyasu, tsukishima kei

🎉 12.12.21! 🎉
In honor of one year since starting Aperture (and this lil ol’ blog 🥺) I’ve compiled some of the countless behind-the-scenes stuff I never revealed about my SMAUs
This serves no other purpose but to be a nice walk down memory lane for me and the nostalgia is sO real—LET’S GOOOO!!!
Check out the previous post about the secrets of Aperture!
I was adamant about using my own art for visuals bc I constantly see fanart go uncredited on SMAUs (and other works of writing). 🙄 Any art in The Cardinal Set that isn’t mine, Furudate-sensei’s, or free-use imagery is properly credited
Much less thought in The Cardinal Set bc entirely too much needed to happen 😅
1. The 3 Y/Ns and their personalities came to me immediately after finishing Aperture, since requests for different routes were so strong. But I very quickly disregarded them bc creating these characters just to give people a happy ending felt too indulgent and I’m not about that
It wasn’t until I came up w the switch months later that I was sold. The lesson Aperture failed to teach—you can try as hard as you can to “build” love but sometimes you simply can’t hit all the right points and that’s okay. Suddenly the character dynamics I already created fit perfectly when paired with a different partner
2. These are the wallpapers on the Y/Ns’ lockscreens!
Tumblr media
By Burnt Toast Creative, one of my favorite illustrators, who makes a ton of great wallpapers free to use (check him out!!!!)
Trompe l’œil:
3. Y/N’s paintings are actually meant to tie in the banners, but the concept is only half developed bc I decided it wasn’t important to the story. Polaroids from Aperture, one-line drawings from Screentone, typography from Extrema, and from Trompe-l’œil, color. Semi reveals he has a purple Rothko print in movement x, and Y/N’s first painting, Komorebi, is green (having fully grasped the concept of intimacy). Ikigai should have been blue (companionate, it wasn’t 😅) but we bring it back around when she asks Terushima for pink and red for koi no yokan (romance)
Tumblr media
4. Akaashi’s favorite poem (#40, the one he was saving for a rainy day) and the poem Y/N posts the next day (#41) are companion pieces! It is said that they were put against each other in a poetry competition but could not be ranked one over the other. Formally, #40 is listed as the winner
Tumblr media
…I can’t reveal what I was really trying to imply w poem #80, lest Akaashi stans get mad at me again… just know there’s a reason Konoha replies the way that he does 💩
Screentone:
5. Y/N’s sketches are my sketches from actual drawing classes (yes, even Semi’s figure study)
Tumblr media
And yes, I did look up the names and stroke orders of all the muscles / bones in Japanese
6. This notebook page at the café where Y/N works w Akaashi is already eying Atsumu, very blatantly might I add
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. In any group chat w Saeko and Akiteru, Y/N calls Udai by “Udai-sensei” or “Udai-san.” When she speaks privately w him (and even when she mentions him to Semi), she calls him “Tenma”
This is something I don’t expect anyone to pick up on, but it’s very telling in Japanese when someone uses keigo (respectful language) vs. tameguchi (casual language). The fact that there’s a difference in address when she’s in front of certain people would immediately indicate a secret relationship. But by Layer 22, she’s addressing him as “Tenma” in front of everyone! No more hiding!
Extrema:
8. This is something I actually hand-lettered
Tumblr media
The quote really is one of my accidental life mottos, said in passing by a guest lecturer for my college film class (I have searched and searched but I still have no idea who to attribute it to)
9. Atsumu’s journey and the V.League coup is based on Miyano Mamoru, who happens to be Atsumu’s voice actor and even shares the Kanji in his name (宮, “miya”)! Some years ago, fan outbursts forced Mamo to hold a press conference, which ended in him bowing and begging his fans to let him marry his then girlfriend. Out of fear for their safety, he has never revealed the names of his wife and son
Tumblr media
Much like the Natsume Sōseki analogy, Atsumu’s decision to not reveal his partner’s name was something I decided a week or so before posting the chapter, bc I stumbled upon said press conference. 😅 And yet it made so much sense, I hated that it wasn’t my plan from the beginning—even the fact that the interview chapter happened to land in Extrema, where Screentone Y/N couldn’t be named anyway!
10. Traditionally, Heian period kossori dating started first w poems (in this case texts/tweets), then progressed to secret meetings, then after the third meeting, the couple was considered official and allowed to be seen in daylight. Secret meetings all depended on women unlocking their doors—if men sent their poems but the door was still locked, they’d be out of luck. So much of the story’s movement comes from whether or not the Y/Ns have “unlocked their doors”
I also tried to make each storyline have exactly 3 secret meetings, but Semi ended up w four by Page 20, so Y/N had to tweet about it to make it public 🤭
Tumblr media
Originally, Extrema’s banner was going to change right after Y/N met Semi (i.e. unlocking her door). I thought people would start getting it by Page 13, but… ya didn’t. All the banners were set to change, but I decided literally that day that the “kossori” arc would include keeping it secret from readers as well. 🙃 How fitting that the true banners would not be seen in daylight until the couples were official
THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT

aka gripping onto summer by its tail by reminiscing all the flavours that represent summer
(as inspired by all the food and drinks that screams summer, which I didn’t get to have in the past months)
A/N: I mean, you can argue that it’s starting to head into autumn now that August is half way through but summer will not end for me in at least two more months so no one can stop me from writing summer related things uwu
Word count: 3672
Characters: Akaashi Keiji, Tsukishima Kei, Hinata Shoyo, Miya Osamu, Kageyama Tobio, Kuroo Tetsurou
-
Akaashi Keiji - honey peach
With his position as an editor, your lover would occasionally bring home gift boxes of sorts from the publishing house or writers he worked for as a showcase of gratitude whenever there were any special occasions or festivals. It was a nice gesture, and he had definitely received things that you would otherwise never had the luxury to enjoy with your office worker salary but as time passed, you had grown to realise that it was near impossible for a household of two to finish up all these fruits and cakes that came in dozens. Especially if it was something that neither of you actually liked, then eating up everything was near torture.
However, you nearly squealed in delight when you came home one day to see him carefully unpacking the box of honey peaches in the living room table.
“Udai sensei got this from his trip to Wakayama for scenery references,” Akaashi said as he carefully too each pink fruit out from the styrofoam nets they came in, "apparently the local peaches are in season so he bought a lot of it and handed it out to all the editors.”
Akaashi was nothing short of skeptical when he was handed the heavy box, wondering if this was an early compensation for any delays that was about to happen but knowing how much you liked white peaches, he took it with a light bow.
As he had expected, you sat next to him with your legs crossed, eyes glimmering with interest as he placed the peaches onto the table. They came in a beautiful colour, a soft pink that seemed like it was glowing from it’s smooth and rounded surface. The plumpness of the fruit already filling your imagination of how juicy it must be.
He chuckled at the way you took one in your hand and rolled it around, looking like you could barely even wait until he unpacked all of it. “Should we have one right now?”
You did not need him to say it twice, standing up in one swift movement before bending down to take the two biggest ones off the table and hopped your way to the kitchen sink. As the stream water ran down from the faucet to your hand, your finger rubbed past the fuzzy skin of the fruit that looked even more tempting with the bead of water rolling down.
“Thank you.” Akaashi took the one you handed him and picked up the small knife that you put down.
You were eager to get to the sweet flesh inside but your attention was immediately diverted away with how skillful he was with the knife. One slice down the curve of the peach and with a press of him nimble finger, the pink skin of the peach was shed to the side and revealing the white gem underneath. You felt a sudden dryness in your throat at the droplet of stickily sweet juice rolled down his palm and trailing down his wrist.
His eyes met yours when he crouched down to lick off the juice that was about to drip off his forearm, his lips much like the fruit he was holding in hand when it was still puckered after he pulled back.
“Do you want me to peel it for you?”
“Sure,” you quickly replied, letting out a relieved sigh at how he had mistaken why you were staring at him.
Your face felt like the afternoon sun was shining right on you when he put down the peach he had in hand, but not without sucking off the stickiness left on his finger tips.
Tsukishima Kei - ichigo daifuku
If Tsukishima didn’t show up at home after the usual time when he would arrive, then he probably went off the fastest route from the museum back home to search for the hidden dessert shops in the district. You often complained that it wasn’t fair how he could stay like a pole when he eats so many sweets every day and he often retaliated that maybe that means you should stop eating the desserts he brought home, but he would still buy two portions of the same item every single time.
You tapped your finger impatiently against the table, staring at the numbers on the waiting screen of your phone. He hadn’t come home this late in a long time, having already tried out most patisseries in the area. Had there been any new releases lately? Or limited-time only products? You sighed. If that was the case, then you wouldn’t see him for at least another half an hour. There weren’t much that Tsukishima Kei was stupidly stubborn about, but he would never leave a line no matter how much longer he had to wait after he queued up.
You snapped around when you heard the sound of keys rattling outside the door.
“Took you long enough,” you said, leaning on the back of the chair as your lover appeared from the doorway.
“Does that mean you don’t want this?” he replied with a knowing smirk, waving the small, white box he was holding in hand, “because I don’t mind having all of these to myself-”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself.”
“Yes, yes...” he gave a mocking sigh, laughing a little when you rolled your eyes at him.
“So, what is it that got you staying out so late?” you said, eyeing the logo on the box that you had never seen before as he placed it in front of you and pulled out the chair opposite to yours.
“The queue was scary long,” he said nonchalantly as he unhooked the flaps on each side, “let’s just hope it’s as good as people claim it is.”
You peaked inside curiously when he opened the box, letting out a delighted “ohhhhh” when you saw what it was. The white dough of the daifuku looked so cute with the powered that dusted on top, tempting you to poke it and watch it dent. It was cut apart in the middle where the large strawberry sat on top of thinly layered red bean paste like it was a king sitting on its throne. Some daifuku put it sliced strawberries or hide it up with the glutinous skin, but there was something that brings much glee to your heart at the round fruit that was on display.
Tsukishima made a side remark on how much you looked like a child as you held the paper lining it came in but you ignored him, closing your eyes in satisfaction after taking a big bite right into the center. You could still feel the power on your tongue from the daifuku but the juice of the strawberry quickly taken over your taste buds. It was a refreshing taste, sweet and sour, making you sit up just a little straighter. The pure sugary taste of the red bean paste and the sourness of the fruit was a perfect balance, giving just enough satisfaction to any sweet tooth but not too overbearing that you would feel like it made our throat itch.
The side section of the daifuku was very satisfying to look at when you pulled back, the white, the vibrant red and the brown all existing in a portion that was just right.
You looked up when your boyfriend laughed, “You really do eat like a child.”
You were about to say something smart in retaliation when he got up, leaning closer and closer to you before brushing the tip of his finger against your lips.
“You got powder on your face...” he muttered, his glasses sliding down the bridge of his nose as his gaze fixed on you.
He looked so damn cocky when he pulled away, licking off the power on his finger while watching your dazed expression.
In some sense, you were kind of like an ichigo daifuku too. Tsukishima snorted to himself as he took a bite into his own dessert, eyeing your flustered expression from the corner of his eyes.
Hinata Shoyo - ramune soda
The peak of high school romance was walking home with your boyfriend under the sinking sun as he pushed his bike instead of riding it just to spend more time with you on the way.
"And then the ball came like ‘bam!’ but he hit it back with a ‘thump!’-” Hinata’s hand was flailing around as he desperately tried to explain to you what just happened during practice which even if you were well-versed in the art of volleyball, you were just mindlessly nodding along his excited rambling with a smile on your face from how cute he was whenever he got hyped.
Nothing felt more like summer than the sound of cicadas chirping on the trees, the chain of the bike’s peddle clicking as it went, the sun being the perfect warmth on your skin and the chattering of a young couple.
“Oh?” Hinata suddenly stopped in the middle of the road and you eyed him in confusion when he let out a gasp like he figured something out in the middle of his speech. His eyes were shining when he spotted Sakanoshida Mart out of the corner of his eye and got a brilliant idea.
He placed your hand on the handle of his bike before dashing inside with a grin, “Hold this for me, I want to go get something.”
You leaned on the rail of the bike as you waited for him, standing back up when he left the store again with two glass bottles on his hand.
“Here!” he beamed as he handed one of the glassy blue bottles to you, “my treat!”
You felt the beads of water that condensed on the surface on your skin when you took it from him. The bottle narrowed down from the top and then widened again after reaching a particularly flattened space in the middle, with a plastic cap that was sealed on top.
“It’s been so long since I’ve had one of these...” you said, twisting the bottle in your hand as Hinata eagerly ripped off the seal to take the cap in hand.
“Careful,” he placed the bottle on the seat of his bike and you held it steady for him as he flipped the cap to put it at the opening of the bottle before pushing it down. You two both let out a gasp of victory when you heard a loud pop, watching the marble that closed off the soda fell into the middle as bubbles rose to the top.
You thanked him as he handed the opened soda to you and took the one you were holding onto. Taking a large gulp, the fizz was tingling at the back of your throat as you slowly grew numb under the chill, the sweetness and taste unique to ramune spreading in your mouth as you released the rim of the bottle with a pop.
“This is so good,” you said with a satisfied sigh.
“Right? Summer is not complete without soda,” he said, slamming the cap down with a grin and tilted the bottle up against his lips. His eyes curled into two thin curves as he pulled away with a deep exhale, “so good!”
You chuckled as he kicked up the stand of his bike, taking small sips of your drink.
“Ah, where was I?”
Nothing felt more like summer than the golden glow of the sun wrapping you up, the sound of footsteps and tires against the concrete road and laughing with someone you love with a bottle of ramune in hand.
Miya Osamu - hiyashi chyuuka (”cold Chinese style noodles” that is 100% oriented from Japan and has nothing to do with Chinese food)
“Ah... so... ho- hot...”
When you walked into the living room to see your boyfriend facing the fan with his mouth opened and slumping down like he was about to melt into a puddle onto the floor, you knew it was one of those rare days when he was far too affected by the heat to even bring out the strength to eat let alone go into the kitchen.
On days like this, you would take up the rare task of cooking and make the one dish you knew would revive the melting pile of fox that was whining outside.
You were far too spoiled by Osamu’s godly cooking. You sighed to yourself as you looked at the fridge that was technically also your and felt utterly clueless as to where to start. It seemed... very different to when you last cooked which was a very long time ago. It took quite a while for you to find everything you need but staring at all the ingredient for the toppings that were lined up in front of you, you rolled your sleeves up and got to work.
This was so you could get your boyfriend back on his feet and you could just leech off of his cooking, you thought to yourself as you rummaged through the utensil holder at the side.
You could add most anything to cold noodles, in all honesty, but you were sticking to the most common combination this time. You chopped up the cucumber, carrot, and ham into thin strands and push them to the side before cracking an egg into the bowl. You felt incredibly rusty with the pan as you carefully poured the egg in as thin as you could, wondering how something as simple as making egg roll wrappers got so complicated.
You felt a sudden weight crashing down on your shoulders when you were cooking the noodles that was swirling in the boiled water.
“Samu.”
“I feel so tired...” your boyfriend muttered into your neck as he slumped down on you, “I don’t even want to eat, am I dying?”
“No, it’s just the summer heat,” you pat his head, struggling to move under his grip, “Samu, you are like a furnace, can you let go?”
“No.”
“But I’m making chyuuka...” you felt a slight shake behind you and he looked up from your shoulder. His eyes flicker between the pot you were stirring and you like he was calculating if this was worth it before slowly loosening up his arms around your waist.
You took a breath when you felt the pressure being lifted off your back but the heat still hung on by your shoulder as his arm lazily draped over you.
“Samu, what are you doing?”
“Inspecting you.”
Your shirt was soaked in sweat by the time you put down the two plates on the table. The sauce that the noodles and colourful toppings were drenched in was refreshingly sour, perfect for days when you felt like you had rocks weighting you down in your core without eating anything. He was already slurping it up after a few small bites initially, physically getting back into his usual self as he let out a satisfied hum at the sauce that expended in his mouth.
You grinned as you watch him eat, feeling like your own appetite had grown as well.
Kageyama Tobio - soft serve
The sun was burning hot above your heads but your hand that was grasped tightly in your boyfriend’s felt like it was even hotter.
Your boyfriend didn’t seem to mind the heat for even just a bit, or the sweat on the palm of your hands, or that you were starting to sweat from between your fingers as well. He just seemed unbothered as he walked ahead, still holding onto your very clammy hand as you wandered past
Summer was not a good time for skinship as much as you love physical contact, it really wasn’t.
Then you spotted a little kiosk out from the corner of your eyes.
“Tobio?”
“Hm?” he said, his fingers that was intertwined with yours tightening just a little out of reflex.
“Do you want ice cream?”
You could feel the chill that was left on the paper cone from the aircon of the kiosk when you took the two soft serves from the employee, feeling very relieved by the cold touch to the tip of your fingers and the chilled air that was floating your way from the icy treat.
“Here.”
Seating on a park bench, you gave a few small licks to the chocolaty ice cream that melted on your tongue while paying Kageyama who was next to you a few glances. He would have argued against it so hard with a flushing face if you brought it up to him, but watching his facial features slowly softened up as he poked his tongue out to lap at the ice cream really reminded you of little kids who could be win over with sweet treats too. He looked almost concentrated as he stared at the milky soft serve he was holding, much like how he was when he had his inner debates about what drinks to get.
Looking at your boyfriend’s near child-likely pure expression, the thought of teasing him a little suddenly rose in your head.
“Tobio,” you said, “can I have a bite of yours?”
“Sure,” he very naturally turned the cone to the side where he hadn’t got to yet but before he could hold it out to you, you gripped his wrist and leaned down to lick right where he took his last bite.
You two had definitely done more than sharing one ice cream cone, but there was still something about going out of your way to create these moments that made the whole thing a lot more flirtatious than how the act actually was.
You grinned as you licked your lips, tasting the last bit of vanilla that was left as he froze in place, the tip of his ears growing redder and redder as what you just did slowly settled in his head.
“Hm,” you chuckled to yourself, “so sweet.”
Kuroo Tetsurou - honey lemon
“Hey Kuroo! (y/n) is here!”
You had barely stepped foot into the gymnasium before Bokuto loudly announced your arrival to, well, everyone. You wanted to disappear in the spot when everyone turned around to where you were, eyeing the person who dropped by out if interest.
You had wanted to make a low profile appearance and left before you would be exposed to his friends’ friendly teasing, but now the entire gym and likely everyone in the ones neighbouring it knew you were here to visit your boyfriend when he was away on camp.
It did not help that Kuroo jogged to where you were with the largest grin on his face, bending down so his face would be right in front of yours as if it didn’t matter that everyone was looking at you two at all.
“Hello,” he said with a very sweet tone, like he was glad to show everyone that he was so utterly whipped for you and that unlike the others, he actually had someone who would go all the way to another campus just to see him.
“Hey,” you replied with a whisper, feeling rather embarrassed at the situation you were in.
He was still grinning ear to ear when he stood up straight, throwing one arm around your shoulder to shield you from everyone’s curious stare as he turned around. “I’ll be right back.”
“Remember to actually come back.”
“Don’t be alone for too long!”
“Be responsible.”
“God, I’m so going to fight Bokuto for this...” you sighed when you were finally left alone with Kuroo.
“Don’t, you’ll increase Akaashi’s workload,” he snickered and you couldn’t help but laugh along. “So,” he stopped midway, turning around to pull you closer to him after looking around to see that there was no one but the two of you, “someone misses me, huh?"
He tilted his head, a small smirk dancing on his handsome features like he was baiting for you to say yes. But the truth was that he was right, you did miss him. You had expected that you wouldn’t get to spend as much time with him as you wanted to because of his club activities but it didn’t stop you from feeling extra lonely in these days when you couldn’t even see him at school.
As if sensing that was something you were upset about, he did not wait for you to reply and pressed you close to his chest. “Well, I miss you a lot.”
You sinked into the feeling of being surrounded by his warmth, feeling the reassurance washing away your previous emptiness. He pulled away with a smile, seeing that you were a lot more at ease than before.
“Oh, I almost forgot,” you dipped into the bag you were carrying and pulled out a rectangular tupperware, “here.”
“Hm?” he took the box with interest, immediately feeling how cold it was. Holding it up, he looked at it from the bottom to see the pieces of lemon sitting in the golden liquid, the light reflecting off of it like it was glistening.
“Is that...”
“It feels weird if I just come here and leave without doing anything so,” you gave a light shrug to brush off the amount of research you had put in to look for things that might be good for people who had to lose hydration constantly from sweat in the summer, “here you go.”
“Awwwww,” you winced at the tone he used as he leaned forward and forced you to look at him, “did you make this for me?”
“I make this for you and everyone else on your team,” you corrected him but he ignored it as he continued to coo at you. “don’t hoard it.”
“Of course, of course, whatever,” he replied quick but didn’t hide the shit-eating grin on his face, “but you made something for me, I’m so touched...”
“I’m starting to regret it.”
“Don’t,” he said, holding you to his side, “I’m going to survive the rest of this week just from the serotonin I got from this.”
“I’m regretting-”
“Alright, alright,” he let out a laugh, pressing a quick kiss to your temple as he stopped with the teasing.
He got punched by the rest of the team that night. Apparently, the grin he had on ever since you left ticked everyone off.

In Sabet's torture cell, Nilu eventually finds out that Sabet is a misogynist serial killer who brutally kills his victims by tricking them on social media. At the same time, Ranu starts to sense strange omens and suddenly gets a blurry vision of Saber's torture cell, in which Sabet is preparing to kill Nilu. She quickly informs others about Nilu's danger but unable to find her. As a last attempt to save Nilu, Ranu calls the goddess. This results into her becoming very sick and falling into her deathbed. The goddess saves Nilu by killing Sabet. But in this process, Ranu dies. The movie then jumps a few days later, showing Misir Ali attending Ranu's funeral. There he accidentally meets Nilu and becomes shocked because her face and attitude are now the same as Ranu's, indicating that the goddess now stays with her.
Tumblr media
After watching the movie I was in regrets. Why we don't see Jaya Ahsan on big screen too often!! She if flawless. Outstanding. In a very simple way she portrayed Ranu as well as anyone could imagine. She is beautiful and also a beautiful actress. On the other hand Chanchal Chowdhury as Misir Ali was very good. He did Misir Ali the way it was written for the movie.
Personal Rating : 9/10

Prompt🥺🔥- N/A
~~~~~~~ Y/N P.o.v.~~~~~~~
Shoyo and I have been arguing in the gym for what seems to be an hour. I noticed that the team walked in about 5 minutes ago, not catching the issue at hand. I've known Shoyo my entire life, but he's two years younger than me, despite this... we were inseparable since we became friends. That is until he came to Karasuno, I thought it would be fun. My two best friends at one school, but he met a guy... Tobio Kageyama.
Don't misinterpret me, he is hot... but not my type. Everything went downhill from there, our very first tournament he met the big three. Atsumu Miya, Yuji Terushima, and the HBIC Toru Oikawa. One look at Shoyo's speed and he just had to have him. I convinced him to be friends, because honestly it was an amazing opportunity. Yet, there was one tiny problem. Oikawa and Kageyama dated in middle school, and Toru did not get over him after the break up. So began the battle for Kageyama's heart, many failed math tests, and one Halloween party later.... Oikawa won. ShOckInG. Long story short, Shoyo knocked Oikawa off his perch by stealing his spot to nationals (and revealing that he was cheating. With Iwaizumi). They broke up, and Shoyo finally had his prince.
But, he wasn't the same. He was fake, his smile, his clothes, everything. It finally clicked when I overheard him talking to Terushima about me.
"I SAW YOU SHOYO!! I HEARD YOU!! What happened to us? We were inseparable." I didn't want to scream at him, but he wasn't listening to me. I love him, but if this keeps up.... I don't know how long I can say that. "Y/N, I can’t spend every second with you, It’s not my fault that you’re like in love with me or something" His words took me aback, causing me to take a step back and almost lose my footing. My eyes widened and my mouth hung open, I just couldn't believe what he said. "Oh, no, he didn’t" Suga broke the silence that had fallen over the room, being my best friend, he was the only one who knew what was happening.
"See? That is the thing with you Plastics. You think that everyone is in love with you when actually everyone hates you" I have had enough with Shoyo and his little 'show.' If he doesn't wanna be friends anymore then fine. "You made me like this. It was your idea for me to pretend to be Plastic- '' After 16 years together, the simple sound of his voice seems to annoy me, I couldn't help myself from cutting him off. His naive words made it even worse. "Buddy, it’s not pretend. You’re as plastic as they come'' I could hear Shoyo scoff at my words. "You think your shit doesn't stink. You think the rest of us are dumb." I could hear gasps come from across the gym, I'm not one to cuss, unless I'm pissed... so I guess they finally picked up the memo. "I hate Oikawa’s guts, but here’s what you can’t comprehend. At least he has the guts to not pretend" Time seemed to slow down as the next four words exited my lips. " To be my friend…" I was done shouting with him, it was getting me nowhere... and he made his decision the day he was talking to Terushima.
I guess he could hear the disappointment in my voice, because his tone quickly changed. "Y/N. I…" I could hear my name roll off his tongue in hesitation. "no. it’s fine" The words came out as a whisper only Hinata heard them, but the ones following were loud enough for the rest of the team to hear them. "Really fine." Balling my fists was all I could do to not yell at him again, I could feel the tear weld up in my eyes and yelling would only make them fall faster. "We’ll be fine" I mutter, no one actually able to hear me, I was truly trying to convince myself that it would be fine... and it honestly wasn't working.
"And I want my pink shirt" Suga wanted to back me up, but there wasn't much he could truly do at this point. "Y/N...." I reverted my eyes to the ground as he called out my name. I'm going to cry, but not in front of him. "Here Hinata." My voice is steady and holds a piercing tone, this causes him to flinch slightly. I don't know if it's me calling him by his last name or my tone of voice. Nonetheless, I hand him the perfectly square box and proceed to walk out the gym, refusing to look back as the tears begin to fall. 15 years of friendship destroyed because he fell in love with a boy he just met.
~~~~~~~ Third Person P.o.v.~~~~~~~
The team stood there in shock after what they just encountered. "Open the box. It took her months to get it. Asshole." Sugawara's words were quick and held emotion as he glared at the boy left alone in the center of the gymnasium. Before Daichi could comment on Sugawara's language, he took off after his best friend. Hinata continued to stare at the box in his hands, not moving, until the tallest spoke, his voice laced with venom as well. "So are you gonna open the gift from the girl whose heart you just broke?" All the boys except Hinata glance at Tsukishima, before looking back at the boy holding the box. An awkward silence engulfed the room, no one wanting to speak. The silence was eventually broken, not by someone, but something. Hinata began to open the cube box placed in his arms.
Instead of tearing the paper, as he would with every Christmas and birthday girl she gave him before, pulled on the ribbon releasing the beautiful bow Angel had tied on top. Before carefully peeling back the wrapping paper, knowing that this is the last gift he will ever receive from her. She always knew what he liked, and her gifts were always perfect. As he finished peeling back the corners, all that was showing was the cardboard box she had wrapped. Before he could open the box, Hinata kneeled on the ground, placing the box square in front of him. As the boy stared at the box, memories from the past 16 years flashed in front of his eyes, tears threatening to fall but never actually reaching the breaking point.
The 1st year dragged his nail against the thin lining of tape, cutting straight through without hesitation. As he pulled back the flaps, he was met with a thin sheet of foam that seemed to cover glass. As he moved the foam, the gift was finally registered in his brain. The young boy fell to his butt, as the dame finally broke, sending waves of tears. The rest of the team simply stared, concerned as to what could cause that reaction in the normally excitable boy. It took him a minute to regain himself, the tears still falling as he sat back on knees. He carefully removed the glass case from the box, as though if he grabbed it wrong it would shatter. When the team finally got a look at the gift that managed to make Hinata cry, they were to put it simply.... unimpressed. To them it was volleyball in a glass case, nothing seemed special. Until he turned it around, revealing the words scribbled on the ball. 'Congrats Shoyo, can't wait to see you on the court.' And next to that was a simple signature, 'The Tiny Giant.'
Angel managed to get his favorite volleyball player, the whole reason he is playing, to sign a ball for him. He didn't want to put down the newly opened gift, but he caught one last thing in the box. He softly placed the case on the floor next to the box before reaching back in for the tiny folded piece of paper. As he opened the note, he recognized Y/N's handwriting and began to read.
"Hey Shoyo, so it's our 16th anniversary of our friendship and I wanted to make this one special since you're in high school now. After months of research, I managed to find The Tiny Giant, or Tenma Udai. Turns out he's my uncle on my dad's side, crazy right? Anyway, he still plays despite no longer being on a team, soo..... I managed to get him to play a game with you guys." As he read the last sentence, he swore he could hear his own heart shatter. "The game is scheduled for next Saturday, so better get prepared.... cause he's still got it. But in all seriousness, you guys deserve some fun after that tournament the other day, especially you. We've been friends since I was 2 and I don't remember most of it, but the connections we share was enough to prove a point. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, I love you Hinata Shoyo." As he finished the note, he placed it atop the glass case, not wanting his new tears to fall on the last piece of their friendship. "I fucked up" His words were few and low, yet the entire gym managed to hear him.
No one spoke, but as per usual, Tsukishima broke the silence. "You just came to that conclusion dipshit?" Tsukki was known to be rude and salty, but his words were laced with a thick poison aimed straight at Hinata. Yet again, before Daichi can comment Tsukki walks away, Yamaguchi provides a quick wave before walking away as well. Yet again, the room was surrounded by silence, while the subtle noise of Hinata was still crying. Because after 16 year, he finally noticed she was his everything. The reason he continued playing, his heart, his best friend.... his soul mate. And he just lost her.

I think the meaning behind Cowboy Bebop Session #16 “Black Dog Serenade” is that Jet’s old partner Fad getting Jet to avenge his arm as a facade to get Udai reveal the true nature of the event when Jet lost his arm and let Jet shoot him as atonement for betraying him.

★ Barbaad ho rahe hai hum log”: Single-screen exhibitors DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY with Disney+ Hotstar’s 7 films announcement : Bollywood News!
June 30, 2020
Since more than a month, there have been speculations that Disney+ Hotstar, one of the biggest streaming platforms, has acquired more than a half-a-dozen films for a direct OTT release due to the Coronavirus-induced lockdown. Today, on June 29, the suspense was finally unveiled and it came to light that as many as 7 films will skip theatrical release and arrive straightaway on the internet. These films are Akshay Kumar’s horror comedy Laxmmi Bomb, Ajay Devgn’s war saga Bhuj – The Pride Of India, Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara, Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial comeback Sadak 2, Abhishek Bachchan’s stock market drama The Big Bull, Kunal Kemmu’s comic caper Lootcase and Vidyut Jammwal’s action love story Khuda Hafiz.
As expected, the exhibitors are disappointed with this historic announcement. Already, they have been suffering since cinemas are shut since more than 3 months. And with the lockdown getting extended in most major states to July-end, they are all set to suffer more. In such a scenario, to see 7 films going straight to OTT, including few star-studded ventures which could have drawn audiences to cinemas in big numbers, have not just saddened them but also infuriated the exhibitors. While the representatives of multiplex chains were unavailable, the single-screen exhibitors have openly made their displeasure clear.
Akshaye Rathi, film exhibitor and distributor, says, “We all saw it coming since 1 ½ months. Hence, we were all prepared to see this happening. As an exhibitor, I’d say that it’s a bit disappointing because some of these films could have actually played a role in resurrecting the very medium that made them such big stars.” A very angry Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Bihar, angrily tells, “I think Bollywood has jumped the gun and have pressed the panic button too early. This will have a very bad long-term impact on the Hindi film industry.” Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise theatre in Jaipur states, “I am not very happy with this announcement. They should have waited for some more time, at least two more months. I understand that they have invested heavily in these films and they must have had their reasons. But in this time of crisis, we should support each other.”
Vishek Chauhan makes it clear that “Bollywood is in danger, theatres are not” and also adds, “People feel that right now that the theatres will suffer if Hindi films will arrive on TV or OTT. Hollywood started this trend of releasing films on streaming platforms in the lockdown and the first film to do so was Trolls World Tour. But that film could be accessed through PVOD (Premium Video-On-Demand) and not SVOD (Subscription Video-On-Demand). So you have to pay $19.99 to buy the film and then you get to watch it. In our case, the accessibility is so easy for these new films that you’re films would be counted in the same breath as Aarya and Chaman Bahaar. Look at Gulabo Sitabo – it came and it went in no time. My point is that, what makes actors stars is when people take the trouble of heading to a cinema hall, standing in a queue and then watching them perform on the big screen. So if Akshay Kumar’s film will be accessible online without any effort at home, Akshay Kumar is then no longer that star! He and Ajay Devgn just killed their own stardom. Disney has kept its Hollywood film, Black Widow, ready. Even James Bond’s No Time To Die is ready for release. But these films are being held for theatrical release. Toh fir yeh log kyun apni film online release kar rahe hai?”
The thoughts of Sandeep Jain, an exhibitor from Indore and Bhopal, are in sync. He states, “What they are doing is wrong. They are trying to destroy the medium that made them such big stars. Has there been any star from OTT? Alia Bhatt became a craze because she debuted in Student Of The Year, which released in cinemas. Same goes for other actors.”
Vishek Chauhan further adds, “Suriya is not giving his away film to the internet. Vijay hasn’t given his finished film Master to an OTT platform. Same goes for Dhanush, Chiyaan Vikram and Mahesh Babu. They have all declined the offer from OTT because they know where their stardom comes from. And look at our Bollywood actors. They are killing their stardom which they painstakingly cultivated over the years. They are forgetting that stardom jaane mein time nahi lagta hai.”
Other exhibitors too agree that they’ll now give preference to films of other languages. Akshaye Rathi opines, “Theatres have survived a hundred years and will survive long enough. The only thing that might change is the content that reaches the theatrical medium. If you see, in every other industry, from Southern to Hollywood, all the tent pole films have been held back for theatrical. So if these Hindi films don’t release, there will be enough Hollywood and Southern films in dubbed Hindi versions and also regional films that will take that space and keep bringing people to cinemas so that they keep getting their share of entertainment.” Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 multiplex in Mumbai, popularly known as Gaiety-Galaxy cinema complex, agrees as he says, “We’ll now give preference to South films which are dubbed in Hindi. Also, we’ll show dubbed Hollywood flicks. And I am sure audiences will come to these films as these films have lot of entertainment. The action in Hollywood films is amazing. As for South films, their action too is a visual delight. Also, their songs make for a great watch.”
Vishek Chauhan also argues that OTT won’t give these films the desired and the deserved viewership. He says, “Uday Shankar (The Walt Disney Company [Asia Pacific] and Chairman, Star & Disney India) is claiming that there are 50 crore smartphones in India and hence the reach is tremendous for these 7 films. If that’s the case, then why does your platform have just 80 lakhs subscribers? At least, Akshay Kumar’s films in cinemas gets footfalls of 2 or 2.5 crore. Your subscriber base is less than half of that. Bollywood has to decide for whom they are making the film. If they give films on the internet, then Bollywood will become an OTT industry.”
Thankfully, not all is lost. There are still many big Bollywood films which will come directly to theatres. Akshaye Rathi exults, “There are quite a few Hindi films as well like Sooryavanshi, ’83, Coolie No 1, Radhe etc which will make it to cinemas.” Raj Bansal in agreement says, “Those who will hold their films will get more benefit. It’s a matter of time.”
However, the other industries are already all set to take advantage. Vishek Chauhan reveals, “The day Disney+ Hotstar announced and hinted about releasing 7 films on OTT, Warner Bros sent a mail to all the exhibitors in the country that their Hollywood films Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 releasing only in theatres. Universal Pictures also regularly tells us that they are releasing No Time To Die only in theatres. The idea behind these messages is that if Bollywood steps aside, then Hollywood will have a free run in cinemas of India. Similarly, down South, producers have asked us to let their films release simultaneously in North and Western belt.”
As of now, exhibitors are suffering immensely and the Disney+ Hotstar announcement has added to their woes. Manoj Desai rues, “Barbaad ho rahe hai hum log aur digital platforms aabaad ho rahe hai. Aaj Maharashtra meinJuly 31 tak lockdown extend ho gaya lekin Uddhav Thackeray ji ne theatres ke baare mein ek lafz nahi bola hai.”
Sandeep Jain has the last word and he is confident that once the lockdown is lifted, exhibitors will benefit. “Once things get back to normal, viewers will forget OTT and will come to cinemas. Even when VCR technology had arrived, we had faced some problems. Right now, with theatres shut, these platforms are getting so much importance. But later on, audiences will flock to theatres just like old times.”

okay but what if bokuto and atsumu ARE still on the same team but the comedic timing of it all akaashi and osamu are never at the same games/practices/team outings with family and friends until Udai is looking up atsumu for research purposes and it all comes together
no but when atsumu and bokuto become teammates, they'd introduce the important ppl in their lives to each other!!!! that's osamu and akaashi; respectively. it Will happen anon. so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
and athletes retire before they hit 30 so.......... we could assume that atsumu already has retired by this point.
let's just drop bokuto and atsumu becoming teammates, it's never gonna happen.
but Udai looking up atsumu as a reference for one of his players can happen. like him having a twin and they were both playing in his high school days.
but he's not gonna go as far as to commute to hyogo to interview a retired athlete about a character he's gonna make. he's gonna go to hyogo for different reasons.
reasons that i might reveal soon. in a comic or in text form (not fic) we shall see.
