David Jackson lends support to the regulars, as Police Constable Gibson in Softly Softly: Task Force: Diversion (1.3, BBC, 1969)
#fave spotting#david jackson#softly softly: task force#blakes 7#olag gan#blake's 7#gan but not forgotten#classic tv#character actors#bbc#1969#unlike Brian Croucher‚ who turns up in the very same episode‚ David had been working in tv for almost a decade by this point#alas pc gibson is not to become a recurring character‚ per the imdb#yes I've started Softly Softly: Task Force (not to be confused with its immediate predecessor Softly Softly)#and actually the first two episodes were brilliant‚ very strong examples of the genre#managed to set up the format and quickly dump some exposition and a mission statement of sorts#whilst still telling compelling‚ affecting self contained stories#a shame then that ep 3‚ despite its old telly fave appearances (2 B7 cast in one!) is a bit of a slog#oh it's not really bad i suppose. but it shows little of the drive or the compact story telling of the first two episodes#mostly a lot of drawn out police procedural which mistakenly foregrounds the coppers whilst almost entirely obscuring#the robbers; not great news for a guest artiste. we shall see. i still have high hopes for the rest of s1.
