RESCUE… questo sconosciuto.

“Ho adottato un rescue”.

Quante volte ho pronunciato questa frase quando è arrivato Byron!

Senza chiedermi il vero significato di quello che stavo dicendo, scimmiottando parole altrui.

Rescue è una parola immensa.

E da per scontato un concetto: salvato.

Per cui quando lo chiami rescue… vuol dire che l’avvenimento è accaduto.

Il fatto si è compiuto.

Giusto ?

NO !

Questo è il problema.

La parola rescue dà per certo che tutto sia al suo posto. In ordine. In pace. Coscienza appagata.

Cuore gonfio. Un biglietto per il Paradiso.

Poi quando smetti di gongolarti nell’entusiasmo del giusto gesto, cominci ad interrogarti sulla parola Rescue.

E stamattina riflettevo… guardando negli occhi tutti i rescue che hanno riempito la nostra casa in questa prima parte dell’estate…

Sono stati salvati, davvero, sul serio.

Perché chi li ha accolti in famiglia sta facendo un grande lavoro.

Perché gli dedicano anima e corpo. Soprattutto un immenso ed incondizionato amore.

Perché non hanno seguito una moda del momento, ma hanno capito esattamente cosa significa salvare un cane. Dal canile, da morte certa, da una situazione disagiata, da un futuro incerto.

Perché si interrogano, perché non smettono mai di farsi domande e cercare risposte, perché vogliono che occhi tristi e smarriti diventino occhi nitidi e felici.

Perché umilmente fanno un percorso nuovo, pieno di insidie ed ostacoli, ma hanno chiara la vetta e vogliono raggiungerla. Salvarsi. Tutti.

Rescue non ha nessun significato se non è chiaro il concetto che nell’attimo della scelta nulla è compiuto.

Ma quello è solo l’inizio di un lunghissimo percorso.
