I've been struggling to build a killer portfolio for a little over a week now, and while I haven't been able to finish anything presentable, I've learned a lot about handpainting textures, retopology and improving my workflow. I've still got ways to go but nothing so far has been a waste of time. Well, except maybe spending like 12h fucking around with the crown's textures while forgetting that the resolution of the entire tex sheet is indeed 2k with exceedingly generous margins and I hadn't thought of making the most detail-heavy islands bigger :^)
