I just want a word processing program. I'm not trying to be difficult. A word processing program that will estimate for me how many words I've written. Which requires a computer Operating System to run said program, preferably with an Internet connection in case there are updates to said program. The computer on which I'm typing this is an unknown number of years old. I know I got it when my ex lived with me, and he's been dead for several years.
That's a hazard of loving people in recovery, especially from drug addiction as opposed to alcoholism. The drugs out there are not those of your elders and they are nowhere near as forgiving of overdoses. My ex became my ex when he relapsed. A couple of years later he got some fentanyl with his heroin and it killed him. Drugs are bad, mmkay?
Anyway, the computer. I am...working with an OS that's 10 years old and have 6 gigs of RAM. (That's before I stuck my 2 gig thumb drive in to use as extended memory.) I'm clearly fighting hard for something to write about here. I'd rather get this done early in the day so I don't have to dread it, but writing about myself is almost as tedious as being myself.
Today is a good day, so far. I made it out the door to yoga and got my eyebrows done on the way home. Eyebrow waxing is my only consistent beauty practice. I'd like to keep up with my hair and not just put it up wet every day but let's face it – I'm stingy with my time and money and can't commit to something eight weeks from now. My hair is going gray and makes me look my actual age, which I alternately don't care about and am horrified by. Now I have extra guilt doing home color – my adopted niece graduated from Paul Mitchell hair school and would happily accept my money for getting to practice on my head, but she's located just far enough away to be inconvenient.
Plus getting out of bed is hard enough. I'll gladly take 15 extra minutes to check the Internet that will still be there when I get to work over putting on make-up and drying my hair. Is this about depression, laziness, or feminist resistance to society's expectations? I'd like to have fun with my appearance and my wardrobe but dammit – do I have to start so bless-ed early in the morning?
(This whole “early in the morning thing” is BS, by the way. I learned how quickly I can get myself showered, dressed, and out the door at my most depressed and now resist any attempt to plan further in advance.) Yes, I want to look nice in pictures but I don't want to do the work necessary to achieve that.
This is a theme in my life – there's a lot of things I want to do and be without taking any of the steps that might lead me in the correct direction. Sometimes it's a question of not knowing what those steps might be. Recovery has blessed me with the crazy notion of finding someone who has (or knows how to do) something you want (to know how to do) and ask them how they did it. I'm not sure if this is as mind-blowing to everyone as it was to me. It may be one of those things that falls into the category of “it feels like I missed some fundamental How To Be A Person class that everyone else took.”
This is a common feeling among recovering people. None of us feels like we fit in; everyone else knows something we don't; we are missing some fundamental quality that would have made life fall neatly into place. (Which brings me to the topic of the people who just needed to put the drugs down and be pointed in a productive direction vs. people who are still disasters clean. Guess which group I fall into.) Which reminds me! Last night the Internet gave me the link to an article in Oprah's magazine that describes the midlife-crisis currently hitting the women of Generation X. So this here writing project? Completely unnecessary. But I've set this challenge for myself and I love no motivation like shame and guilt. So I'll keep writing and see what I end up with.
Where was I? Oh – the things I want without wanting to do the work to get them. I've always wanted to play guitar but only enough to take a handful of lessons. My last attempt was valiant – I bought myself a beautiful guitar and showed up pretty consistently for group lessons at a friend's house. After a few months, there was pain in my strumming arm almost constantly. Especially painful were things like gripping the scoop I use to clean litter boxes, which is a thing I try to do every day. I went through physical therapy twice before the pain went away, and it's still not completely gone. My intention is to go to the adorable guitar shop where I bought my guitar (where they also give lessons) and ask someone (who knows how to do something I want to know how to do) if there is a way I should be doing it differently. That has been my intention for many months now.
What is it? What is the problem? 1. Think of a thing to do. 2. DO THE THING. That's it, right? There's not some 1.5 secret step I'm missing? There must be. Unless this is that executive function thing they talk about? There are the things I know I want to do (currently: clearing out yet more of my wardrobe so I can get rid of my TWO broken dressers [why do I have two broken dressers?] and acquire a new piece of storage for my clothing; taking my books off the bookshelves so they can be moved and I can get new flooring and also get rid of some books)(besides the regular stuff like exercise and eat foods that make me look and feel good and learn how to program and garden and oh maybe clean my damn house) and there is the crushing lack of motivation and energy.
(I'm thinking this whole NaNoWriMo thing coincided with an increase in the dosage of one of my meds which has given me a temporary “up” sensation? Like I sat through my laptop trying to repair itself so I could write rather than wandering off and doing something [or nothing] else. Honestly, me getting a thing done sooner rather than later is not a thing. I still haven't emptied the litter boxes from yesterday.)
(It occurs to me at this point to wonder if my expectations aren't set unrealistically high. Hi, my name is Teri and I was in Gifted & Talented classes and was told I had Such Potential, and have done no impressive or soul-fulfilling thing with my life. Welcome to my expectations. Not to mention this existential dread that I didn't even have words for until college when I took philosophy and learned that existentialism is a thing. This is my ONE opportunity to be alive and ultimately the only rules are those I choose to follow and This is what I've done with it? This is my life?)
(Which brings me to capitalism, specifically late-stage capitalism. I was born to the grandchildren of farmers and immigrants without the financial means to pick and choose which hobbies would distract me from my inescapable death. I watched my mother survive two divorces and [unbeknownst to myself] decided that I would be able to take care of myself. I wouldn't depend on anyone else for lodging or food or miscellaneous entertainments; I would do it myself. [This has a lot to do with why I am Single. Unmarried. Don't get too close – you may offer to take care of me and I might weaken and let you and then my guard will be down and then life will have me where it wants me.]
Late-stage capitalism. In which I, a consumer, trade my time and energy for money, which I then trade for comfort, convenience, and distraction from the awareness of my inescapable death. Knowing that, sooner or later, NONE OF THIS WILL MATTER bumps up against my desire to look younger and be attractive and matter in some absolute sense. I have a “safe” government job [thanks, Dad] with good insurance which is a Big Deal when you have a chronic condition like mental illness. I have a small home, a car that's paid for and still runs, and two cats for whom I am responsible. That there are no children is partly on purpose; partly because I never wanted to be a single mom, and partly because I didn't meet their other parent while I was young and foolish enough to consider parenting.)
Where was I? Expectations. In recovery, expectations are set-ups for resentments. Hmm. I may have to think about that. If nothing matters, expectations are silly. There are no shoulds. There Is No Way To Derive An Ought From An Is. (My favoritest of all the things I learned in philosophy.) Except that my best idea, recreational drug use, got me in legal trouble, put everyone else at risk, and (now that they know about it) makes my loved ones worry about my health and well-being. So it benefits all of us that I remain clean. And it increases the likelihood that I'll stay clean if I treat my mental illness, which requires (in this ever more dystopian hellscape) money and/or insurance. Which requires a job. Which is easier to maintain if I have a safe place to sleep and food and clothing. All of which requires effort to maintain. We haven't even mentioned recycling and volunteering and staying informed about the current state of the ever more dystopian hellscape. There are a lot of plates to keep spinning, despite the fact that eventually they are all going to shatter and it won't ultimately matter to anyone who will endure. (Existentialism is heavy.)
But haha! Daily word count achieved! Now I can get my active minutes in (exercise boosts both physical and mental health) and figure out how much time I have before I need to be where I'm supposed to be next. Because social activities and meetings make living more meaningful. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I received my lenses today (July 3rd) so I can finally make my own glasses (well... I didn't "make" them 'cause the frame's already done and stuff but... you get what I mean...).
I'll pass the boring stuff about the measurement (mostly because I didn't think to take pictures for most of the process and it can get confusing) but basically we use a machine that 'scans' the shape of the frame (by using a sort of needle that goes inside a sort of dent that goes throughout the rim of the glasses, thanks to which the lens”holds” withing the rim) and then we put our measurements and the details of the prescription in it.
Tumblr media
(this is a picture from one of my tests, that's why it's graded) This is the Boxing System, it's pretty much a size measurement system. The Boxing System or Box Measurement is basically about measuring a frame in millimeters by inserting it withing a Box. While Opticians don't use the B and C measurement (the C measurement isn’t even on there, but it’s the diagonal), A and D (D is often called DBL in English) are still very in use as they usually indicate the "size" of the glasses, you'll find it on most eye-wear arms before another number which usually represents the length of the arm. Here's mine:
Tumblr media
This size is often indicated by two numbers separated by a small box indicating the A measurement and the D one. (Basically if you do (2 x A measurement) + D Measurement you get the width of your glasses, here it’d be 53*2 + 15). Adults often wear glasses with a 50+ A measurement (though it depends on the D measurement, but the more common are between 16 and 18 mm).   My previous glasses were 52 □ 16 aka 52*2 +16 which means they were 1 mm smaller overall but they didn’t fall on the bridge of my nose as well as this one (they were also semi rimmed so they looked smaller).
The crossing points of the crosses are where your pupils should be in theory (usually if the frame was well chosen, it works for their height measurement and the machine can usually calculates it unless it's for progressive for which you have to do it yourself by pointing the pupils on the glasses and then measuring from that point to the bottom of the lens). The pupil distance (PD) is the distance between those two points, though because most people aren't symmetrical we (opticians) usually prefer to measure the distance between each pupil and the middle of the D measurement (you'll understand when I show you the workshop sheet).
So we do that and then we put the uncut lens (I think it's called blank in english, but i’ll stick to uncut lens) in the machine which calculates the 'prescription' mostly by using the bend radius of the lens (this is a very strong summary ok so it’s kinda how it works but also kinda not) and then the machine sticks the small plastic thingie where the pupil should be so the other machine can edge the lens around it (yes, I got tired of sorting through the glossaries I found online).
Tumblr media
this isn't what all workshop sheets look like because it mostly depends on the software you use but I find this one to be very practical as it follows the frames when they're placed the way this one is (basically the right is on the left, so you can literally just put the lens on its side of the sheet and never fear you've somehow mixed them, very helpful when you have anxiety like mine). On this pic you get the right eye cut lens (it still has water on it) on your left and left eye uncut lens (the way we receive it) on your right. Generally these sheets will have all the data you need like the measurement and the prescription data as well as the name of the lens you ordered (usually the name indicates the index, the material, whether it's a unifocal or progressive (among other things), the coating as well as the laboratory/brand making them, here the laboratory is written below).
Tumblr media
this is the side of my uncut lens. The material is CR-39... which is the most common material nowadays. It's a 1.6 index lens which means it has been thinned compared to the basic lens you can get. Now this index is actually one of the best because the ones above don't have the same quality of sight (well 1.67 is still rather l good) while the ones below are a bit more fragile. But my eyesight's starting to get pretty bad so even if it's been thinned out it's not that thin (which is one of the advantages of plastic frames as they are rather thick in general).
Tumblr media
This is me trying to place the bevel (pink line) at the best place on the lens so that the lens will fit the frame as esthetically as possible. It's especially useful with thick lenses; This is for the left eye and, as you can see the outside is a lot thicker than the inside, it’s because i have of my astigmatism and its axis. The Bevel is an edge surrounding the lens used to fit the lens within the frame which has a sort of dent within the rim for that purpose. Then we press the green arrow (yes i know the irony as a DC reader) to get the edging of the lens started.
Then we do a few things like counter-bevels to make sure the lens isn't dangerous and finally we can verify that the lens was well mounted in the frame (mostly for progressives and people who have an astigmatism).
Tumblr media
you can see here that the data on the machine (called a frontofocometer) for the right lens is the same as the one on the sheet (off by two degrees but usually it doesn't matter if it's off by less than 5 degrees especially for very low astigmatism like mine because these things aren't always the most precise).
Tumblr media
Here are the main information you can get on a worksheet. everything that's barred in yellow is the client's personal information (mine's mostly empty because I didn't order my lenses/frame the normal way since I got them for free, one of the perks of the job).
1. basic information : who did the file and when (the little number above is how many files are currently being done which is very useful when you don't know whether there are other glasses waiting to be done or if there might be contact lenses that go with it or some other thing).
2. usually indicates the price before and after the health insurance covered the glasses (we usually call it equipment ;;;dunno if it’s the same in english) so that you can know how much your client will have to pay after you created a specific file on their website (the price barred here is how much I'd have had to pay with my insurance's cut already cut prices if I couldn't use my job perks because some health insurances get  prices cuts with some laboratories for their clients). It's very useful when it's Saturday or between 6pm and 7pm and your software decides to stop working....
3. specifies if the glasses are for near sight or far sight or “others” (such as progressives). Because I have myopia/am nearsighted, mine will always be either for far sight or "others”since I can't see clearly further than ~20-30 cm in front of me However hyperopia/farsightedness can require either a farsighted vision equipment or a nearsighted one (or progressives which is basically a combination of both) so it's pretty useful in those cases because it impacts on which pupil distance you'll use.
4. This is the data used when ordering the lens.
4.0. OD or OG means Oeil Droit and Oeil Gauche aka Right Eye and Left Eye. If I remember correctly OD is the same but the left eye is called OS? I'm not sure why...probably latin
4.1 This is the Sphere aka how bad your eyesight is, it's measured in diopters. If you calculate 1÷sphere, you get the furthest point at which you can see clearly (in meters)... it's a lot more easy to understand for nearsightedness because for far sightedness it gets hypothetical. but basically 1÷(-3.75)=-0.26666666m aka -26.67cm aka -266.67mm. It’s not the exact one because the distance between your eye and the lens as well as the fact that lenses only go from 0.25 to 0.25 are taken into account when deciding the sphere, but the difference is almost nonexistent.
4.2. this is the cylinder. If you have this, it means you have an astigmatism. It means your cornea is not the same size at a 90° difference so you actually have two different spheres in one eye (which can explain the difference in thickness on just one lens) and you see reality deformed (aka you'll see a soccer ball like a rugby one). This number indicates the difference between both spheres. To continue with the right eye example, I have a +0.25 astigmatism (which is the lowest form of astigmatism, honestly it's almost non-existent here) so to get the other sphere you have to do very basic maths : - 3.75+0.25= - 3.50 diopters (1÷-3.5=285.71mm so 28.57cm of vision at most).
4.3 this is the axis of your astigmatism. it basically indicates in which direction the reality is deformed so the lens can correct it. As said above 99% of the time the difference will be a 90° difference (out of 180). Here the right eye would be :
-3.75 (+0.25) 95° <--> - 3.50 (-0.25) 5°
while the left eye will be :
-4.50 (+0.50) 80° <--> - 4.00 (-0.50) 170°
Tumblr media
this is my prescription. As you can see it matches. Now English prescriptions often put the astigmatism before the sphere but you end up reading it the same way so who cares.
-> for progressives there is usually a number added after those like +1.00, it means that you add +1.00 to your farsight sphere to get the nearsight one.
4.4 this is the name of the lens. Here it's from Essilor which is a french manufacturer of lenses. I think it's one of the most popular (they invented the progressive) and it's one of the best. It doesn't mean it's the best, there are others like Seiko which are very good, we just happen to have a contract with them. So I'll use this as an example of how the name of a lens can indicate its composition.
Ormix : here it indicates both the material and the index of the lens (depending on the manufacturer the index can be placed after). Essilor's lens created from the CR-39 material (aka plastic) are called Orma (index = 1.50), Ormix (1.60), Stylis (1.67) and Lineis (1.74). So Ormix indicates that the material used is CR-39 and its index is 1.6 (those are linked to how the lens filters the (white) light, to the lens' mass, its thickness, ect...)
EPS means the blue light coating isn't actually a coating but that it's embedded in the lens. You can usually find it on progressives or photochromic/transition lenses.
TB means Transition Brown which is why the lens is colored. Transition lenses are photochromic lenses which means that they darken when exposed to UV rays. it's especially useful for people who are sensitive to sunlight even if it alters the colors a bit (it's never gonna be as white as 'normal' lenses). I get a lot of headaches and because of my Optic Neuropathy and my allergies, my eyes tire quickly so I decided to try them out and, I've been using the for half a day and believe me, it's pretty great. now there’s a myth that brown lenses are often more comfortable for nearsighted people, i don’t think there’s any actual scientific proof of that but it is the case for most people as far as most opticians’ experiences go. i tried both and my eyes do seem to rest a bit more with brown than grey.
Cz F means Crizal Forte, it's Essilor's best Anti-Reflective coating, Prevencia is the name of one of their Blue Light AR coating (Saphir is the latest and best one but since we don't sell it I forgot it existed)
4.5 this is the diameter of the lens we order, it's linked to the size of the frame, your PD as well as your eyesight. It's measured in mm (like everything here).
5. these are your eye measurements. E means Écart which is french for Distance and usually is here for PD (because we're too lazy to write the P?). VL means Vision de Loin aka Far-sight. so E. Client VL means the Pupil Distance of the client when he looks at something from afar. VP means Vision de Près aka near-sight so E. Client VP means Pupil Distance of the client when he looks at something from up close (usually ~40cm). It's because when you look at something close to you, your pupils will move closer to your nose. often you can just take the E. Client VL and then calculate the VP from it. You can see on my prescription the number 57 and below it a post-it that has the same measurements as the ones on the worksheet. This is why we usually insist on taking those measurement because they’re rarely symmetrical so we can’t just do 57/2 (a 1.5-2.5 mm difference is kinda normal)
E. Montage is the PD you'll use for the glasses you're doing at the moment. If instead of progressives you have two glasses, the software should automatically calculate it and tell you which one of the VL or VP to use.
The Hauteur is the height between the pupil and the bottom of the lens, it's the one I said at the beginning was only taken for the progressives. Now I know some opticians do take its measurements even for normal lenses but it's not especially useful for 99% of people. Since I have normal lenses I didn't need it
6. those indicate the name of the ophthalmologist and the date of the appointment (very useful to keep track of the eyesight's evolution)
And finally :
Tumblr media
As I said before, I jumped a few steps but I still thought it'd be a nice post to make since I'm so happy I got to do my own glasses. I think I put the bevel pretty well as the lens barely gets out of the frame :3

Sample art from Torben’s collection of products
I’ve recently had a conversation with our guest of today, Torben. Torben is a Germany based artist and convention seller that has recently entered this world of the Furry fandom.
Torben is as much a furry as a pony (Brony), he has made many friendships and bonds through the years, but he also didn’t started as a Brony, so in which fandom did he started that lead him to this point? Here’s what Torben had to say:
Wow that’s a long story … so back in the old days, way before pony, and way way before I entered, or had even heard of the furry  fandom, there was a fandom of Pokemon fans on Deviantart, a tightly knit community, called the Eon group, who were all people celebrating the Latias and Latios Pokemon, they where a Family to me, and soon my character who had started its life as a dratini, turned into a Latios, named Torby.
Torben has came a long way down until this point that leaves him with tons of experience in being part of fandoms, always helping the community and most importantly always giving the best of him for the community. But as Torben as a person has changed and gained more experience through the time, what about his character, is it still a Latios?
Torby is a kinda the cutsie version of my IRL name Torben, it was a shiny blue cute Lati, (gender neutral name for a oc based on latias and Latios) but when this community started to break after a few years, pony came in its place and so I took from the Lati design, creating a Lati pony, who would forthon represent me, also called Torby, he had been my sona for a long while, and even so much that I had a full body suit made, for me to be him.
Tumblr media
But this wasn’t even over, because a new character would be created to be the main character of Torben because of the situation that would happen with a familiar OS that had a reputation…
When Windows 8 rolled around, a new character was born, everyone hated on the operating system, and everyone was so comically against it, that it made me want to try it  out, because I own a massive touchscreen display, and I didn’t find it to be half bad, and so I wanted to poke fun at the comical hate for the OS, so I made : Win 8 42 23, a Windows 8 pony robot, with a real soul, controlling its robot body, completely made to mimic the look of a real pony, she started growing on me more and more over time, till she became my main character sona, I loved the idea of being small and cute, and cuddly, wile torby was based more around my real life self, Win was my free time sona, to have fun with and feel like a kid again, enjoying exploring, traveling, and having a childlike fascination for the world, so she became my sona.
The main sona of Torben is Win, but I asked him If he had ever tried to make a sona different from a Pony and he answered:
When I entered the furry fandom, I thought a long time again about making a fursona, a long long time … I made some foxes, I’ve made some dragons, but I just loved the feeling of hooves more, in a weird way, dragons where too anthropomorphic for me, and and foxes … didn’t feel like something I could be … so I found the middle ground, I dressed Win up in a fox onesie, just like a human would wear a fox outfit, only that it was a Pony doing so, and so that’s why, my sona character is a Robot Windows 8 pony, looking like a normally pony filly, wearing a fox outfit.
Tumblr media
Torben made his sona wear a fox outfit, and here is where the art part becomes really important, because he focuses in outfits, precisely prints, that is when he started his company called “Art N Prints”
Art N Prints had its starts in 2012 when I invested 50 euro in a burner and started making cute little wood burnings into boards of pony characters, used for breakfasting on these little burnings where a massive success financially for someone who started from nothing with almost 0 start investment and allowed me to be pretty well off while I was doing my apprenticeship as a technical designer. After investing in needless luxury items, I found that it was time to try something new, so I made pictures of these wood boards, and combined them to combined pictures, and shaped them into the shapes of ponies, with the help of friends of mine, and the success continued, I sold about 1000 shirts of this kind, with having 5 different designs, and even to this day, I still see people wearing them at conventions.
This company was a great hit for him, were in 2016-2017 was one of the largest sellers of brony merch in the market, and he also worked with the best artist in the market too, but after the event as he calls “the pony crash”.
I hit the pony crash … and it hit hard, sales plummeted, and less and less events in the Winter time caused a Winter of almost no sales  due to lack of money, that was where I saw that I needed to expand, to survive.
Torben after suffering from the “Pony crash”, he created his now new company called Fur N prints.
After having visited Eurofurence, I started getting into the furry community not from a business perspective, but out of own interest as pony declined more and more, I needed a new community to call my internet family.  So I started working with furry artists, on designs and and I visited my first furry con I sold at, people loved my merch, and especially the ability of onsite Production, so I started to build Fur “N” Prints, that’s where I am now.
Tumblr media
This is were now our young artist is starting his new business, were he promised to give everything from him trying to give people who give a chance, the best quality, the best materials, and also all his effort, to make the perfect shirt.
Now I’m leaving you with some words that Torben wanted to say to the fandom:
Thanks for accepting the weird wacky person I am, and for welcoming me.  I’m looking forward to wonderful times within your community, and with you as individuals, I’m looking forward to dive into more and more of your creativity and to feel at home here. and I look forward to meeting you at the cons I am to visit.
This was Torben, an artist that because of his needs he had to adapt and overcome the difficulties, and as you can see, he has done a pretty good job with it. If you have the time, why don’t you take a look to his prints – you may find something that catches your eye!
Tumblr media
Special thanks to Torben for the interview!

Autel Maxisys MS906 OBD2 Scanner Reviews 2017
Being a DIY mechanic or an auto repair shop owner you are expected to make wise decisions and guidance that dedicated automotive diagnostics and ECU programming tools to solve for. Why you choose Autel Maxisys MS906?
Why should buy Autel MaxiSYS MS906?
When I go through the good, the bad and ugly aspects of the Autel MaxiSYS ms906 my honest conclusion is best for a mechanic who does not have much experience in car diagnostics. MaxiSYS MS906 is an upgrade of the MaxiDAS DS708 with added functions such as Wi-Fi, touch screen, non-fixed keypad, tablet type tool, data recorder, read and erase trouble codes, diagnostics, Service and repair, provide all functions of OEM and more. Let’s look at the unique features that make ms906 superior to other automotive diagnostic brands in the classroom.
Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Pros and Cons
Pros of Autel MaxiSYS MS906 *Quality Display 8″ touch screen *Android OS 4.4.4 KitKat *Camera And Community *User-Friendly Interface *Technically Advanced
Cons of Autel MaxiSYS MS906
*However, like all other systems available, it has a few drawbacks. For example: The scanner takes a long time to charge the battery compared to other available devices. However, it may sound as though it is not a major factor to consider, but with a shorter working schedule it may not be the most effective. *The scanner has advantages over its shortcomings making it the best among all.
Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Features
Capabilities
*This product is a modern automotive diagnostic analysis system. Moreover, it has been labeled as the next generation version of the widely successful Autel DS708. One major advantage is the ability to scan a wide range of automotive related issues. *This coverage covers more than 80 global car manufacturers. Many different and unique manufacturers such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford as well as Dodge are included. *Although the Autel MS906 comes in two different versions; MS906 BT and MS906TS, but it gives users an opportunity to do more than just scan for car problems. *For example, this diagnostic tool has the ability to reprogram keys if you own the lock code from a particular vehicle dealer. It also has the ability to reset multiple systems from the engine check lamp to ABS. *I have looked at different types of vehicle diagnostics; I went through all the pros and cons of each and every one of these tools. I suggest, for garage garage owners or new car technicians starting with the Autel Maxisys ms906 budget. *To this summer the diag gives the technician a chance to reprogram the ECU installation option for the customer’s automobile. However, the second feature is only available for some specific model types.
Display quality
*The scanner has an excellent 8.0 “display that is responsive to sensitive screen resolution of about 1024Px768P making it one of the most obvious devices on the market today. The instrument’s clarity assists users with no doubt about what is being performed. *The navigation buttons are digital and appear on the screen, and there are no physical buttons installed on the device. Therefore, the screen occupies the length and width of the instrument.
Android Tablet
*It runs on Android operating system (OS) capable of connecting to the web via Wi-Fi. This capability allows scanners to search and download operating system updates for its ultimate performance. *The scanner can also be connected directly to an end user’s computer via USB. Its Android operating system provides room for multi-tasking that allows users to perform multiple checks at the same time. This feature saves time and has great significance.
Storage space
*It is designed to have 32 GB of internal memory only for the purpose of having sufficient space to store diagnostic information. You can transfer files to your computer, in which case, the memory is full.
Long BackUp
*Another convenient feature of this type of scanner is that it comes with a built-in battery that can run the device for longer periods of time than other types. Therefore, you have no reason to worry about the car’s battery consumption during Autel MaxiSYS MS906 Wifi Diagnostics. Many other car scan engines consume the battery of the car itself to be operational and a hassle if a car breaks down its battery.
Camera And Community
*The scanner is equipped with an 8MP (Mega Pixel) rear camera that comes with a dedicated flashlight for taking pictures and uploading them online. The images seen by an online community including MaxiSYS MS 906 owners and technicians are capable of overcoming any issues that arise for your vehicle as shown in the picture. *It will give you many other pairs of eyes to diagnose problems and hands to help if you are stuck with an exotic car problem. Moreover, it is a good platform to penetrate the community and build a great relationship.
User-friendly interface
*This type of scanner is the most professional scanner and very close to the diagnostic tools used by technicians at major car manufacturers around the world. The technicians have stated clearly and clearly that the scanner is 90-100% of the work that their diagnostic tools do. *It is GUI is concise and clear and users will find it difficult to get confused while using the system of the device. The interface is quite self explanatory.
Advanced Techniques
*The scanner with AutoVIN technology is the leading standard for reliable vehicle inspection. It only refers to the technology ability of the device to automatically record and store user VIN. *This ability was not familiar before. Many current scanners on the market do not have this great feature. The VIN of the vehicle must be read from the bar code or by entering a phone number for details.
Conclusion
Basically speaking, the Autel MaxiSYS MS906 is a perfect fit for home repairers. I recommend this device for high quality standards. Also remember the other versions later, Autel MaxiSYS MS906BT and Autel MaxiSYS MS906TS. I suspect that you would prefer to use any other device if you encounter this problem. Personally I am a fan of equipment and Autel brand. Moreover, it is backed by the prestige of the Autel brand. Autel is an excellent manufacturer who always strives to present the best and eliminate the difficulties of the customers. In case you have some problems with using the device or if it does not work well, though rarely, an Autel representative will help you solve your problems. Just contact customer support.

HYDROGEN ONE: Princess Leia’s smartphone
We now know a little more about RED’s smartphone, which is, in fact, much more than an Android smartphone. HYDROGEN ONE is the promise of a powerhouse in terms of imaging, a pocketable revolution.
Jim Jannard’s shared some more information about the new product from RED and that gives us a more detailed image of what’s coming in 2018.  On a post published on RED user forum after the first news came online and the reactions from people, Jannard wrote this “ So… very interesting day to say the least. I love some of the reactions” and continued by answering to some of the comments made.
The holographic display is, according to Jim Jannard, “incredible. It is multi-view (4-view) as compared to stereo 3D (2-view). Watching shocked faces light up when people see it is really motivating. There is no good way to describe it until you see it. Hopefully we will get some skeptics eyes on it soon… then they can tell you.”
On the same post Jannard adds that “Our display is technology you haven’t seen before. It is not lenticular, which is inferior tech in every way, has been tried many times before and failed for good reason (see Amazon 3D Fire, LG Optimus, etc). Lenticular display dramatically lowers resolution, cannot be turned off for standard 2D content, only works in one direction (usually landscape), has color crosstalk… to name just a few issues. My bet is that other ‘big’ companies will try to re-package lenticular 3D displays with eye-tracking in response to our program. Don’t fall for it.”
Complete trust, hard skepticism
The number of negative reactions to the announcement is huge, and it happens for different reasons. From pure disbelief in the viability of such thing as HYDROGEN ONE, demonstrated by some, to those others that bought the product, because it is from RED, but hate Android – the OS – and claim that they will never use the smartphone, although they will use the remaining functions (Android dependent…), you get an idea of how the public read the announcement.  Then you’ve the others…
Jim Jannard wrote in his post that “Today we saw the full range from ‘complete trust’ to ‘hard skepticism’. I have seen this before… many times actually. Makes me smile.” In fact, since the very early days, one decade ago, that RED has gone, according to Jannard, “from scam (announcing the impossible) to delivering the impossible… over and over. Our core customers have seen and participated in this process and have stories to tell. Apparently we have earned their ‘blind trust’ because we have not let them down. We understand that those unfamiliar with our history will certainly not get this.”
Looking through the forums it is easy to confirm that many Redusers blindly ordered HYDROGEN ONE right after it was announced, without even reading the release. Some even bought more than one!  The release document itself does not say much, either, but Jannard assures one thing:  HYDROGEN ONE will come with a battery… evidently poking fun at a website that said it was unclear whether RED’s smartphone came with a battery.
  From Oakley to HYDROGEN ONE
Although the information available confirms that RED’s smartphone is not just a smartphone, more the hub of a modular system, Jannard wrote this in his post: “So why do we feel we can make a difference in the cell phone market? Because we are doing everything different and (we feel) better. That is the only way to enter a market. That was the thinking behind Oakley. It was the thinking when we released the RED ONE. Same formula. Make something significantly better and you have a reason to be.”
Right now, still following the information provided by RED and Jim Jannard, we know the smartphone “also comes with internal storage and an external micro SD card slot. And a headphone jack. A selfie camera and a back camera. These cameras will not produce cinema quality images. No cell phone does. What we will have is a modular system that adds image quality well beyond any other camera short of our professional cameras.”
RED will release many more details and specs about the project as time goes along, and  Jannard says that “anytime you don’t like what you see, full refund for any reason spoken here. However… be prepared to be surprised on the upside. It only gets better the more information you have.”
A modular smartphone for a modular system
The early announcement of the product, criticized by many, who view HYDROGEN ONE as “vapourware”  has advantages: it allows RED to get feedback, both positive and negative, and adjust its road map accordingly. Browsing through the Reduser forums one immediately understands that most of the comments are positive and there are multiple suggestions, some which sound as if taken from a “science-fiction” compendium, about what HYDROGEN ONE should be. The feeling one gets is that a bunch of kids just got excited with the promise of a new toy they will get on the first quarter of 2018, and they are discussing what they would like to see in it. It’s the mixture of all those reactions, good and bad, that will, no doubt, help to define the final mould for RED’s smartphone.
Is HYDROGEN ONE a viable product? I do not have many doubts about it. On one side, we’ve the fact that this modular product will be part of RED’s cinema cameras system, used for everything from controlling cameras to image monitor, as many smartphones already do. So, there is no reason to doubt that RED has covered those aspects already, even if only in conceptual form, and only needs to put them together to introduce a new tool within its own ecosystem, which will, like a Transformer, able to shape shift into different things, from a DSLR-like camera to a not yet imagined cinema camera.
What many doubt is the ability of the smartphone to be a holographic display.  In fact, the industry has been after the holographic dream for some time now, and although you can create a simple holographic-like display with a plastic prism placed over your smartphone, we’re not there yet in terms of the holographic concept as we dream it. But we’re getting closer, have no doubt.
My first holographic experience
On a personal note, which I think is important, my first contact with a holographic experience – bar the classic one from Star Wars – happened in 1991, in London, while there for the worldwide launch of what was considered the multimedia machine for the future: Philips CD-i. In London. I visited the Trocadero, an entertainment complex on Coventry Street, where the first Virtuality machines, pioneers in Virtual Reality, were available to try.
Although I was amazed by the experience of VR in 1991, something else attracted my attention: Sega’s holographic cabinet, the first ever holographic video game, Time Traveler. The game characters appeared to be holographic projected, but were in fact not holograms, but the result of an ingenious system based on a laser disc player a TV monitor and a curved mirror. The 2D image projected through the surface glass produced an illusion of depth, when viewed from the 240 degree angle of view. So, despite the images seemed to have dimension, they were not viewable from any angle and the magic could not be called a real hologram. Still, in 1991, right after having tried the Virtuality machines, I did spend a few coins to be amazed by Sega’s machine. Now, any smartphone – which were nowhere to be seen at the time – can show “holograms” in a very simple way.
Technology has moved, so it should not come as a surprise that HYDROGEN ONE promises to offer a single product which is a stand-alone, full featured, unlocked multi-band smartphone operating on Android OS, but is also a 5.7” professional HYDROGEN holographic display allowing users to view all traditional 2D content at full screen resolution, view holographic RED Hydrogen 4-View content (H4V), view stereo 3D content and view 2D/3D VR, AR and MR.
The Chinese Takee 3D
Holographic images will have RED’s unique H4V format, which we will know more about in due time, but the question that many people put forward is one: can it be done? Apparently yes, and it’s not even absolutely new. Looking back in time, a smartphone offering holographic images received the 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree, at CES 2015, in New York: the Takee 3D Holographic smartphone.
Presented as the world’s first mobile device to integrate Smart Holographic Technology, the Takee 3D features a forward facing camera that tracks the viewer’s head and eyes. Next, the 3D phone’s spacious 5.5” high-definition screen sends separate images to each eye. The result is a 3D Holographic image visible to the naked eye that is both projected out of the screen and appears to go right through the device.
“The biggest difference between our 3D Holographic display technology and legacy naked-eye 3D displays is that holography won’t make you feel dizzy” said Meihong Liu, Chairman and General Manager of Estar Technology Group, “3D Holographic technology can adjust perspective to users’ changing position. It’s closer to the feeling of watching the real scene.”
The Takee 3D Holographic Smartphone supports naked-eye 3D holographic pictures, games, videos and applications. The Anti-Friction coating makes the screen durable and fingerprint resistant, while the matte finish on the back adds extra grip. Constructed of aircraft-quality aluminum and Corning 3rd Generation Gorilla Glass, the Takee 1 is durable yet refined, claims the company.
Holoflex, a foldable smartphone
The first Takee 3D Holographic Smartphone, the Takee1, is powered by the MediaTek True Octa-Core processor. It has 32GB of storage. AudioCauldron 3D Sound technology from Bit Cauldron Corporation provides 3D Sound to match the 3D video, enabling a new level of 3D immersion and a more believable sensory experience. It also supports dual SIM cards (one standard SIM card, one Micro SIM card) to allow calls to and from two phone numbers and calling plans at the same time.
The Takee smartphone didn’t, apparently, excite the crowds, and is now, it seems, discontinued. But technology has moved forward, and we now have the world’s first flexible holographic smartphone, called HoloFlex. Announced in 2016, the HoloFlex was developed by researchers at the Human Media Lab at Queen’s University. The device is capable of rendering 3D images with motion parallax and stereoscopy to multiple simultaneous users without head tracking or glasses.
“HoloFlex offers a completely new way of interacting with your smartphone. It allows for glasses-free interactions with 3D video and images in a way that does not encumber the user.” says Dr. Vertegaal.
HoloFlex features a 1920×1080 full high-definition Flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode (FOLED) touchscreen display. Images are rendered into 12-pixel wide circular blocks rendering the full view of the 3D object from a particular viewpoint. These pixel blocks project through a 3D printed flexible microlens array consisting of over 16,000 fisheye lenses. The resulting 160 x 104 resolution image allows users to inspect a 3D object from any angle simply by rotating the phone.
  Europe receives holographic smartphones
So, the holographic dream is closing in. Why can’t RED take a slice of the pie and create their own holographic media machine? That’s apparently what they aim to achieve. The patent document registered by Jim Jannard is a good source of information for many aspects of the HYDROGEN ONE and the whole system, but apparently the answer to many questions is somewhere else: with a company that is mentioned by Bloomberg, in one article from March 2017, as one of the 50 most promising startups you’ve never heard of.
Founded in 2014 by David Fattal, Zhen Peng and Pierre Emmanuel Evreux, the company is a technology spin off from Hewlett Packard laboratories developing a light field display technology platform for naked eye holographic and virtual reality applications. It focuses, today, on the mobile and automotive markets, with first devices expected in the hands of consumers by the end of 2017. The company is based in Menlo Park, CA with operations in Suzhou, China.
The company partnered with Altice to introduce the first holographic handsets to the European market – France, Belgium,  Luxembourg and Portugal – before the end of 2017. The company leverages recent breakthroughs in Nano Photonic design and manufacturing to provide a complete Holographic display platform through the use of special hardware and complementary software. The firm commercializes mobile screen able to synthesize dynamic 3D holograms and sense your fingers to let you manipulate virtual objects in midair.
A company named Leia
The company was mentioned on French television back In January 2017, with David Fattal and Pierre Emmanuel Evreux showing the latest prototype. The company is called Leia 3D or simply Leia. Yes, the logical name for a company promising a world of holographic images could not be any other than Leia, in homage to the Princess Leia from Star Wars. After all, it’s that popular scene of the film that has kept us wanting to have holograms. Well, we are on the verge of having them, in multiple flavors, apparently.
Although it is not confirmed that Leia’s technology will be used by RED,  there is no doubt that whatever technology is used, it will be very similar. Add to this the fact that RED’s smartphone has, from the images available, a unique look, and it is not hard to believe that Princess Leia would love to have such a phone.

I hate Apple
New Post has been published on https://www.venturecompany.com/blog/2017/06/i-hate-apple/
I hate Apple
“I hate Apple” was the phrase uttered by a member of my household when a wiped Mac computer reconnected to iCloud could not seem to recall any of the playlists stored in Apple’s cloud, playlists that remained accessible by other devices with the same login. Yet of course, such a failure of trust in technology would never be anything Warren Buffet could detect, for I doubt he even uses a Mac. In the same way Warren Buffet’s investment in Dairy Queen reeks of financial engineering more lucrative and pleasing than actually digesting the chain’s food (save for the excellent soft-serve ice cream). You know exactly what I mean when you are brave, or poor enough, to have to enter a Dairy Queen establishment.
Apple without Steve Jobs is slowly sinking back into the morass of mediocrity the company deflated to before Steve’s return. Even as it continues to capitalize on Steve’s vision and execution, yet clearly lacking his attention to detail in the delivery of a cohesive technology ecosystem. Apple today is like an orchestra without a musical director, composer and conductor. A company where newly minted fashionista inmates are tasked to run the increasingly complex insane-asylum of make-believe “innovation”, and produce discombobulated sounds yielding an irritating technology cacophony.
Tim Cook is the captain of Apple’s now bigger and messier ship, with in the words of Gil Amelio, widening holes in the ships’ bottom. Holes that do not surface to financiers and “greater-fools” riding the waves of technology just yet, but nevertheless yield compounding problems forcing its engineers to pump proverbial buckets of water from its hull over the railing. Apple products today are a mess (as evidenced below), even in their mindless optimization of Steve’s central ideas, littered with problems Apple’s leader should have detected way before such products are considered for market entry. While technical glitches are common-place in technology, the gravity of the errors reveal the omission of a higher, simpler and better normalization of strategy. An omission not uncommon for a company that has evolved primarily downstream since Steve Jobs’ passing. Apple employs some of the most talented engineers (I know, I have friends working at Apple) in the industry, but their skills die on the vine if they are not guided by a strong top-level strategic intent, compass and mandate. Trust but verify, must become Tim’s modus operandi.
On the design-front Apple is losing its mark too. Jonathan Ive’s influence, as Apple’s master industrial designer, is losing luster by not having a strong counterpart acting as both his adversarial and pushing him to extreme excellence. Major unchecked design mistakes now compound like a cancer spreading downstream to subsequently erode the unique and easy-to-understand user-experience of Apple’s latest and upcoming products, previously worthy of a premium price-point. As a result, Apple is slowly but steadily becoming a dull price-competitor rather than a prized value-leader, even selling old products wherever it can to still make a buck, in the throws of Wall Street’s antediluvian expectations.
And for all this mess, shrouded by the false positivity promulgated by a naive press, we should all be in awe of Tim Cook. Like we are all supposed to be in awe of Marissa Mayer earning $900,000 per week(!) for running Yahoo! into the ground. Evidence of how the definition of a “greater-fool” so saliently applies to the geniuses who let them. I absolutely love the potential of societal impact induced by technology, but I hate how our operating-systems of humanity do not prevent the cunning technology pirates from leading innocent societies down an ominous path, just to make a buck.
Money really does not equal societal merit. A realization the world and our governments must keep in mind.
You see, one aught not hand the reigns of human operating-systems and controls over to a company that demonstrates it cannot be trusted, and uses price-fixing to starve writers, artists and musicians from their livelihood, right under the veil of the company’s purported embrace. We better not be impressed by a company using modern-day slavery to feign a business-model otherwise incapable of persuading discerning buyers. One also better not make the mistake that a rat-race to please an incontinent Wall Street is demonstrably incompatible with a sincere compass of societal justice and evolutionary integrity. A reason why Steve Jobs was justifiably so aloof – if not ignorant – to the Street. But the Street has found a new friend in Tim, who in the slip-stream of Steve’s passing continues to give the Street growth short-term, and tailored his operational excellence to the needs of the Street, while under the surface has sucked the life out of the integrity, quality and longevity of product and societal value.
To wit, below is a list of problems I personally encountered using only Apple products for everything I do, collected over the course of a little over one (1) week. An indication not of the circumference of the proverbial holes in the bottom of Apple’s ship, but an indication of how quick and easy it is to get seriously stuck in one. Productivity and societal impact not helped, but increasingly harmed by technology.
Get it together Apple, stop releasing flash-in-the-pan products until the existing ones work as expected. Future-selling does not cultivate the brand that Apple once was.
  Apple TV
Black screen of death when playing video on library shuffle. Bad implementation.
Hitting enter during play should reveal pre and post play. Not pause to yield both. Bad use case.
Can’t immediately recognize selected item on screen, so no quick indication of where to move to until you move position. Bad design.
A screensaver flyover video of a grey airport? Really? Bad choices.
A search for a certain type of content is still restricted by who provides it. The false promises of Siri.
Apple TV content access is clashing with cable TV content, not integrated. A user should not need to care or know about where content resides. Bad implementation.
Unique logins per cable TV providers to yield overlapping content makes no sense, use case is insufficiently resolved. Bad implementation.
Music doesn’t start up from main menu, black screen. Restart. Functionally incomplete.
Rent movie on Apple TV, says this content can’t be played on Apple TV. But on close observance the rental period has started and we can play the movie, so it has been activated. Bad implementation.
Can’t purchase iTunes music on Apple TV? Wtf? Forced into Apple Music. Technology indoctrination.
Why can’t a folder stored in Photos be selected as screensaver folder? Ie. Have own selection of photos appear on rotation? Who is paying attention here?
Apple Music can’t have disparate login from iCloud on family atv? Dumb use case
——————
MacBook
Trackpad too close to edge, gets touched by clothing etc. Dumb design.
No edge on keyboard, hard to pick up laptop in opened mode. Dumb design.
Charging cable turns yellow. Shoddy quality.
Out of memory warnings, really? Ever heard of disk-swapping innate to Unix? With 128Gb disk space available. Bad core implementation.
Frozen OS at times in dashboard, reboot only remedy. Recurring in many versions. Bad implementation.
Keyboard letters break apart after one year of use. Backlight shiny through. Sloppy implementation
——————
iPhone 6
Selling old models of iPhone is eroding the brand of Apple, a post-Jobs era in which market penetration at all cost dilutes the top quality of (and price-point) the brand Apple used to stand for.
Back and forward in the top menu bar, not designed for it. Shoving pertinent information aside. Afterthoughts of “innovation”?
iPhone7 Red released 8 months after first model, definition of new?
Horrible looking Apple cases, including ugly one with battery. Erosion of design brand.
Battery drains quickly and reboots at less than 15% at times, fix is a fakeout with wrong battery levels reporting. Dirty fix erodes Apple’s brand
Dumb use cases for name recognition in texts, 5,000 contacts make you have to correct the auto correct every word you spell. Bad decisions on usability
Autorotate while typing, really? Define me the use case.
Rotation of image after picture taken incorrect. Define me the use case.
Dumb position of on/off button, counter pressure changes volume. Bad design
Dumb placement of audio jack, unusable in docking situations. Bad design.
SMTP setup too cumbersome. Fails periodically requiring reconfiguration. Bad implementation.
Bad use of the cloud, internet accounts is a mess. Bad implementation
ICloud status should be in status bar, not hidden in file system somewhere. Bad design.
Weird updates happen when you clear notifications on a per day basis, new notifications flying in from who knows where? Bad implementation.
Keyboard shows up on home screen without search. No way to clear it, except to go into text edit app. Bad implementation
Preview image doesn’t show up after taking photo. For the longest time. Bad attention to detail.
Connection unsuccessful, please pair this device again. Which device is being referred to? Clicking doesn’t allude, only close notification works. And now what? Bad attention to detail.
Lots of hiccups on audio playback, time slicing of OS messed up. Bad implementation of core functionality.
Silencing alarm in notifications goes to wrong place in alarms, not where alarm is established. Hollow call to action. Bad implementation.
Music still does not sync playlists across all devices correctly, some folders empty. Bad implementation.
——————
Apple Watch
Sideway sliding works sometimes, most time not. Bad implementation.
Inconsistent delivery of notifications, takes a PhD to figure out why. Yet another device to manage notifications. Bad use case.
App strategy for Watch is wrong one, purpose-driven device would’ve been better. Bad strategic choices.
Custom apps are generally mediocre, little compliance in terms of consistency and accuracy. They mostly seem to be asleep. Bad use cases.
Automatically opening MacBook with Watch very inconsistent. Bad implementation.
Watch disconnects from phone for no apparent reason, reboot didn’t fix. Unpairing. Bad implementation.
Repairing watch makes no sense. No option to repair on watch? Or recognize watch from iPhone. Bluetooth option on watch offers no resolve. You can’t repair an Apple Watch without deleting contents? Idiotic. Bad implementation.
Not activating Activity on new watch leads to disaster, as there is no apparent way to reinstate its setup. Bad implementation.
Open goal walk shows the milli-seconds jumping and updating in spurts. WTF. Cumulative time appears accurate. Bad implementation.
——————
OSX
Use case of full screen without proper app switching. Bad use case.
Gesture recognition inconsistent, too many false positives and false negatives. Bad use case.
Trackpad shouldn’t detect motion during click, for un-click inaccuracy. Bad use case
Apple Streaming to Apple TV works inconsistently after video ends, no persistent state kept. Bad implementation.
Large address book slows down imessage to a grinding pace. Basically making the computer unusable during a week-long process with 100% CPU utilization. Bad implementation.
Can’t change volume in FaceTime occurrences, not over headphones, not on MacBook. Status bar greyed out, after screen sharing. Bad implementation.
FaceTime and iMessage startup takes forever, indexing 5000 contact names? Bad implementation.
Autocorrect keeps correcting plain English with any name it can find in address book, annoying corrections needed to spell simple words. Bad use case.
Autocorrect is a disaster, not understanding very common words or context. Stale implementation.
FaceTime doesn’t startup on call receive from linked iphone. Bad implementation.
Cope and paste in Pages inconsistent, works sometimes, sometimes not. Paste yields paste before sometimes paste after in some cases. Bad implementation of core functionality.
iTunes is a gargantuan mess, full of inconsistencies, bugs, usability errors, first 30 second errors massive: Delete from library should not equate to delete from store, where is my media? Download limit on your own media, download every song manually? iTunes ratings demoted, how about 5000 ratings? Bad overly complex implementation, redo from scratch.
Sign in through App Store doesn’t confirm I am logged in. Shows same Signon screen as if I did nothing. Shoddy implementation.
Autocorrect is flimsy, if not incorrect, outdated linguistically and unadjusted to fluency of languages (hire Noam Chomsky for direction). Bad implementation.
Application switcher Command Tab works sometimes, sometimes not. Bad implementation.
Alerts about adding internet accounts, requiring password via notifications goes nowhere. Bad implementation
Other mysterious behavior of Internet Accounts, adding and deleting mess-ups. Bad implementation, strategically flawed.
Use case for new accounts and passwords badly thought out, accounts should be added in cloud then disseminated across devices. Wrong implementation decisions.
Search in finder window works incorrectly, file not found when files are there. Inconsistent implementation, dependent on how search is performed.
Renaming bluetooth mouse does not work. Bad implementation
Magic Mouse on/off button slides on too easily in a soft bag, running out of power. Bad Design
Slide mouse on its side to charge? Bad design
Why does it take half an hour to check for application updates? Bad implementation
Sidebar in Safari, Impossible to figure out how to close. bad usability controls. Incompatible with youtube playback.
AirPlay stops transferring to Apple TV while video continues playing on Macbook. Bad implementation.
LinkedIn doesn’t connect to address book to sync all 4600 contacts, CoreDAVErrorDomain error 1. Bad implementation
Signatures in Mail unlinked from accounts upon reinstall. Not saved in cloud, while signatures themselves are. Half ass implementation.
38 seconds to startup FaceTime, really? Bad implementation
Autocorrect does not understand linguistics, dumb technology.
iCloud Drive resync to old device takes forever, no automatic sync (like Dropbox) is activated. How will that affect backups from this device. Data integrity alert. Need to manually re-activate top-level folder download. Unreliable implementation.

I had the pleasure of interviewing two special guests, Chris Ryan and Wes Okerson, from NBC’s show STRONG. I was truly humbled and honored to have this amazing opportunity as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do; interview fitness inspirations that can bring value to you and motivate you in your fitness journey.
I invite you to read my interview and see what these experts have to say!
  WES OKERSON INTERVIEW:
How did you get started in health and fitness?
I got into health and fitness when I was very young I started playing baseball when I was five years old that lead to playing in high school and eventually in college.
Do you have any morning rituals? What are they?
I actually don’t have any morning routines I like to change it up. I pretty much take it day by day. I like to see how my body is feeling and adapt my workout.
  What inspires you each day?
Inspiration is everywhere it’s all around you. I get it from a TV show, a film, a book, a piece of art, could be anything.
What has been your biggest challenge in life and how did you overcome that?
I think the biggest challenge in life is fear of the unknown -trying new things, every day you do a little bit more and you overcome a little more.
Why do you follow a Keto Diet? What are Ketones?
I don’t follow a keto diet specifically but I do eat more quality fats and less starchy carbs–I do this because there is a tremendous amount of research showing that ketones are better for the brain- the body operates better burning fat as energy not only do you look better, you perform better- your brain functions better- it’s just an overall better quality of life.
Who is a Keto diet ideal for?
Ketones are essentially fats broken down and used as energy – usable energy that is you can take them exogenously which means outside the body in the form of a supplement one that’s called keto OS. This is probably the best way to get your ketones without having to follow a very strict diet.
What is the biggest roadblock your audience or clients come to you with? How do you help them fight that?
The biggest block is always going to be time it’s pretty much universal for everyone I try to tell people that there’s always time. Always.
What suggestions do you have for busy people and how they can still get a killer workout on a time constricted schedule.
Everyone should lift weights. The idea of only doing cardio work is nonsense the body has to have muscle in order to maintain its structural integrity as you get older your body loses bone mass and that’s very important to save as you get older.
Can you tell my audience (women) what are the benefits of lifting weights? Many have a mental block that they will get bulky and look manly.
I would tell people that in order to achieve the body they want lifting weights is imperative – as muscle burns a tremendous amount of extra calories while you’re at rest -so as you lift weights the body uses more energy therefore will burn its fat. If you only do cardiovascular training the body will use up its muscle and you’ll become what’s known as skinny fat.
What are your best tips to achieve a beach body physique?
My best advice to achieving a “beach body” is to just simply work very hard in your workouts and maintain a healthy lifestyle of eating. And most importantly get out of your comfort zone if you’re someone that likes to spin go run if you’re someone that likes to run take a HIT class.
What is the best advice you can give to someone starting as a Fitness and Health Entrepreneur?
Someone whose starting out as a health and fitness entrepreneur you got to just stay on grind each day –you’ll be introduced to somebody that could potentially introduce you to somebody else that will give you an opportunity. There’s always a door somewhere just keep looking for that door that’s unlocked and walk through it and you’ll find ten more just like it.
Where do you see your career headed in 5 and 10 years?
I’m not quite sure where my life will be in five or even 10 years. I just know that the fitness world has brought me so many opportunities and as I continue to push down different roads I can see myself eventually moving outside of fitness and doing some other things in my life that I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always been fascinated with TV and film and I can see myself hopefully working in that area in the later years of my life.
    CHRIS RYAN INTERVIEW.
How did you get started in health and fitness?
It was always my calling in life. I had been an athlete since I was young and was fortunate to be a D1 scholarship athlete. I was always into business and entrepreneurship in my 20s, and after selling a business at age 28, I followed my passions in fitness. I did a photo shoot for a friend in the fitness world and was picked up by Wilhelmina Models in NYC. After that, the rest is history. I put on my entrepreneur hat and built a career around the health and fitness world. I train clients both in-person and online, model and consult for the biggest names in fitness, am partnering in an amazing new flagship group training studio opening in NYC this summer, write for the top fitness magazines and appeared on STRONG on NBC. Follow your passions, and only great things will come your way.
What are you the best at in life?
Getting the best out of people. I have a knack for helping people achieve more than they ever thought they could. I thrive on it and it always fulfills me to see other people’s success and the smile it brings to their faces.
Do you have any morning rituals? What are they?
I get up at 4:45am (such is the life of a busy trainer) and always do 2-3 minutes of basic stretching first thing before I hit the shower. Simple toe touches and arms to the sky; just loosen up the posterior chain, hips and shoulders. After my shower, I give my wife and kids a kiss while they sleep and take a few seconds to stare at them in their peaceful sleep. Lastly I grab my coffee and mix my Keto Kreme in it and walk to the gym; almost 2 miles (I never take the subway or taxis first thing in the AM) there is something surreal and energizing about walking the streets of Manhattan as it wakes up each day.
  What inspires you each day?
My family. My wife and kids are everything to me. They want me to be a better man; better provider; better father; better husband. Each and every day. They help me focus and strive to do “better,” it’s a principle I pass along to my clients and instill in all the work I do.
What has been your biggest challenge in life and how did you overcome that?
I was lost after I sold the business I was a partner in with my brother and our childhood friend. At 28 years old we had done well, but knew I wanted more. It took a while to “discover” what I really wanted to do with my life–thankfully I found out after a couple years of “aimlessness.” It’s funny how you can prepare your business and sell it successfully, but then you don’t prepare your life for what happens next. Once I looked at life as an endless book with a series of chapters it made more sense to me. One day I had some clarity and I asked myself two simple questions: what my ideal day would look like? How could I combine my passions and entrepreneurial capabilities together to make a living at it? Funny how the answers are easy once you ask yourself the right questions.
What kind of nutrition system do you follow and recommend our clients? Keto, IIFYM, carb cycling or any other?
I think in terms of nutrition, not diet and food as fuel. I have had great success with clients following Keto and/or paleo-style nutrition programs and believe these are great options for most people. I firmly believe carbs should be “earned.” We have been abusing this macronutrient for 50 years through the help of our dysfunctional food pyramid and lobbyists in Washington. Big sugar is as bad or worse than big tobacco ever was.
I think carb cycling works. I am a big fan of fasted cardio and think this is a good option for most people looking to lose fat. You will lose a little amount of muscle if you do long steady state cardio like this, but if you keep the workouts shorter and more intense you will get ripped beyond belief. Think in terms of a sprinter vs a distance runner with your cardio options and you will build muscle along the way to burning fat.
What is the biggest roadblock your audience or clients come to you with? How do you help them fight that?
Consistency.  Nothing is more important than consistency to be successful at anything in life. There are always “challenges” that come up daily for everyone. You can either let them affect you positively or negatively. I help my clients “see” their success before it happens so they can only see the positive side of being consistent with their training and nutrition. It really is more mental than physical.
Can you tell my audience (women) what are the benefits of lifting weights? Many have a mental block that they will get bulky and look manly.
Look at the women on STRONG. You saw them all come in at 30-35% body fat and leave with body fat a few months later in the low 20s. They all built a lot of muscle yet all looked amazing! Why? Muscle burns fat. Don’t worry about what the scale says; look in the mirror, how your clothes fit, and most importantly celebrate what your body can do each and every day. Newfound functionality and energy levels will take you to places and let you do things you never thought possible. It’s very empowering. That is the healthy body image women should strive for.
What is the best advice you can give to someone starting as a Fitness and Health Entrepreneur?
Be professional and treat it like a business. If you treat it like a hobby, you will have just that a simple hobby.
If there is a phrase or quote that someone can remember you by? What would it be and why?
Success isn’t what you accomplish in life; it’s what you inspire others to do.
Where do you see our career headed in 5 and 10 years?
The online training space is still very new. I have been fortunate to help train clients online all over the world for the last few years and have now developed an amazing app available on chrisryanfitness.com that offers awesome training programs with video tutorials, write-ups and motivational accountability. I also see there being a movement toward the high-end of the group fitness world, where people want more of a fun and engaging “live” experience at the high end. The big box gyms from the 80s to today and machine-based equipment are being phased out for more natural movement and fun ways for clients to “experience” fitness.
Please do yourself a favor and go purchase your tickets today and attend this amazing event full of fitness inspiration. Get your health going and get inspired to live a healthy lifestyle today.
  Thank You,
Mary Miranda Fit

In all likelihood, the anglers who are heading to classic trout ponds in places like the Adirondacks will have a variety of these football-shaped lures in their tackle boxes and will be ready to drag them through these waters where ice-out has just occurred. In this writers opinion, this is the best time of year for trout fishing. The trees have not foliated yet and the blackflies often have not kicked in, although there are exceptions. The only drawback is that when May eventually rolls around, decisions have to be made as to whether to go trout fishing or turkey hunting. But thats not a bad problem to have. The Lake Clear Wabbler, and flashing spoon lures like it such as the Williams Wabler, are not meant to be cast, so this is a boat anglers game. Ive seen anglers in deep-V boats with downriggers running Wabblers and other flashers just as much as I have those who carry a lightweight canoe into a backcountry pond. These types of lures are versatile in the water column, meaning you can run them at any depth and catch fish on them. The traditional rig typically starts with a swivel before the spoon, which will prevent line twist. Below the spoon, run 18 to 24 inches of leader line to a No. 6 hook, where a trout worm is to be placed when fishing time comes. Some anglers use more leader, some less. Some use flies instead a worm and others use larger and smaller hooks. It all depends on what you like for your own trout fishing.

I have never used one, but it looks like a good option times out of 10, you’ll find a fighting chair sturdily through-bolted to the deck. “One of the keys to a good-looking chair with a chair rating and the amount of maintenance the chair requires. Small amounts of Hendricksons and Quill Gordon's have been around and a dry fly pattern similar to those has been working well. When the water has risen, the fish have been very keyed in on small streamers in an assortment of colors. Expect the inland fishing to continue to pick up through May.
