This chapter starts off strong with a really great sense of quiet horror. Everyone waking up in suspense because they can feel something is near, despite being on a bridge that should deter enemies they can still sense they're being hunted

It's super spooky and I love it

Just barely started the first audiobook for The Wizards of Once and already this is. So magical. "If you think you know what a dark forest looks like, you're wrong, it's darker than ink, darker than space..." "good sprites and bad sprites casting mischievous spells on each other" "Hate each other like poison" Cressida has such a gorgeous way with words???

And the narrator revealing themself right at the beginning to be a character in the story that we don't know yet... I'm so invested. This is just as exciting as when I started How to Train Your Dragon omg

Will be liveblogging this audiobook when I catch my breaks (I'm at work right now) and it looks like it's about 5 hours so we'll see if I get it done today!!
