wang yibo - WWD article on his loewe endorsement
ALL EYES ON YIBO: The multidisciplinary Chinese star Wang Yibo has been named a global brand ambassador for Loewe.
His first official engagement with Loewe will be to attend the brand’s spring 2025 men’s fashion show in Paris on Saturday.
Expect hundreds of dedicated fans, many of whom would travel across Europe for the opportunity to get a glimpse of Wang in person, chanting his name outside the venue.
Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson, who visited Shanghai for the “Crafted World” exhibition in March, said of Wang: “Not only has he achieved global recognition as a singer and dancer, he’s also exploring new territories including acting, motorcycle racing and fashion — we love this multifaceted approach to creativity and how much it resonates with Loewe’s own prismatic identity.”
Wang, who received industrywide recognition for his performance in the espionage thriller “Hidden Blade” last year, said the Spanish luxury brand represents “a relentless pursuit of craft and bold aesthetics.”
“Anderson infuses the collections with so much humour from everyday life while drawing inspiration from the art world, which creates a unique visual language. I’m looking forward to joining Loewe and creating many more remarkable moments together,” added Wang, who is also a promotion ambassador for the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai.
Wang started his career as a member of the K-pop boy band Uniq, and has gone on to become one of China‘s most marketable male stars with more than 40 million followers on Weibo. His name logs more than 280 billion impressions on Weibo, and 6.4 billion views on Xiaohongshu.

since china is millennia old it stands to reason that he’s moved past the whole “humans get to grow old while countries do not” whimsy dream that younger countries get (maybe just thinks about it casually like one would think about being an animal, there are more negatives than positives), but i sometimes wonder if he sees his smooth, youthful skin and dark hair and wishes there was a least one wrinkle or grey hair there. his culture emphasizes respecting one’s elders, and isn’t he the most elder of all? yet he is physically in his twenties and has to call those around him “auntie and uncle” or the like.

underrated thing about wang baoxiang is how utterly pathetic he is. intentionally provokes his brother every time they interact because having esen be mad at him for something he did on purpose is easier than being vulnerable and then is like how could esen think i hate him :(( goes around rolling his eyes at all these Idiots who don't consider the Needs of the Common Folk and then gets grossed out whenever a servant dares to speak to him. constantly thinking about Hot Men Exercising and how much they all want to fuck each other probably. hasn't emotionally matured past the age of fifteen (he is twenty-three). thinks of himself as a Character instead of a person so much that he gets surprised whenever the things he did for their narrative significance have actual real consequences. while being quite literally haunted by a specter of his own guilt is like hm what could this mean. well time to not sleep for another 36 hours. kills people and then throws up about it and then goes off to kill more people because surely this is the one that will fix everything right. wants to be punished for what he's done because it's the closest he can get to admitting he feels remorse. looks for his brother everywhere but only ever finds himself.
which of course culminates with him stalking miserably through the hallways looking for someone to be mad at because there needs to be someone else responsible for making his life suck but there isn't anymore because no one has power over him anymore. and he can't go back but tries to convince himself that he doesn't want to because he also needs to see himself as being In Control of Everything That's Ever Happened to Him. he wanted it all along and he likes it here actually. and he won fratricide chicken and got himself tortured and tried to show mercy and did every evil dishonorable thing and now he just has to live with it all forever. loser!!!!

I am legit sobbing over this images I AM NOT OKAY
When a ship takes over my life that even just seeing the actors together makes me feel so many things
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Context: This are the live actions actors for Quan Yizhen and Yin Yu. The one with the hat in the first pic and glasses in the second one is Yin Yu’s actor (Wang Jia Yu), while the one being carried in the first and the one taking the pic in the second one is Quan Yizhen’s (Liu Zi Rui/Ray Liu)
The second pic is from Liu Zi Rui’s weibo while the first one is (from what I am assuming) a fan account for Liu Zi Rui.
Tbh, at this point I just want Eternal Faith to release just for the QuanYin crumbs. I am starving over here and just need some QuanYin content in my life.
I would also love it if any fan artists decide to draw these as QuanYin. Especially the first pic

Analyzing China in the recent Gangsta chapter (and what it means for next week)!
this chapter was all i could think about today (especially since i love china to oblivion) . i'll be using the translations provided by @withnofreetime ! thank uuuu 💖💖
☆ This chapter was one of the more interesting ones! First, I'm going to recap when Japan plays his card that forces everybody to receive a shock and force them to pay an "obligated fee"
Tumblr media
When Canada sets off the shock button, everybody gets electrocuted. however, i've noticed something:
Tumblr media
China is extremely uncomfortable. It looks like he had to cover his mouth in order to prevent himself from showing any signs of vulnerability. And it doesn't even make sense because he was only in second place of receiving the damage, meaning his shock was super light. In fact, he literally tries to lie and play it off here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally Japan and Germany got higher shocks than him yet they only rather look mildly uncomfortable.
And of course, there is Japan playing out the second part of his card, where the total damage that everybody just took will be redistributed to a single opponent if they fail to fight back with a card that manages to fulfill their district's obligations.
Tumblr media
This page is the real kicker here. of course who wouldn't fulfill their obligations? But like Japan said, there is a wolf among sheep.
Tumblr media
And that wolf happens to be none other than.. China.
The main question is: Why China?
☆ Well of course there is to acknowledge Japan's history with China. They've both had a past with each other in real life and in canon. China practically raised Japan. Of course Japan would go after somebody he is most familiar with in the face of battle, because that knowledge will be his greatest strength.
As we know in the card game, there are two forms of costs: the economical one where the representive pays out of pocket in order to play a card and the stamina one where the representive pays out of their energy every time they receive a shock. So we can assume that Japan is not only knows of China's age, but he is also well aware of his lack of stamina as well. China's lack of stamina is his greatest weakness. But China's strength is his economical cost of 17,000. He has the ability to play really strong cards just like America! And that's why Japan's card is so dangerous here to him! Because his card states that the cost increases the higher up ranked a district is. Not to mention the sheer size of his district and him having the largest population may also play into this factor of maintenance for the district. If what Japan said about China is true, then no wonder why China is unwilling to pay maintenance for his district. The costs are going to be really high and it will give him a lot to manage. If he is going to play this on China, then China is literally left with only two choices:
A.) Go through with the card's demands and lose the strength of his economical power. If he goes through this one, he'll more than likely struggle with the rest of the battle. Or B.) Refuse to go through the card's demands to keep his economical strength and risk losing his stamina from the cumulative shock. If he goes through this one, he is more than likely to be put out of the battle in general (remember, he literally couldn't handle even a small shock!)
BUCKLE UP THIS SHIT IS ABOUT TO GET REAL

Fangirling over a guy (let alone 2) wasn't on my bingo card for 2024, but here we are. Several months in on my somewhat late admiration for Wang Yibo & Xiao Zhan. And... I'm not even mad about it.
