Just letting you guys know that unless a decision is made in the future, Burhouse is to remain on indefinite hiatus.

We want to thank you for everything, and I personally appreciate how kind you all have been on this blog.

This is the end of Burhouse, though if you’re lucky enough to see us or know who we are you may be lucky to hear more of the story, but publically it will come to and end.

I, Windows, would like to let you know you can get more bursona and sootbur content from my current main account @rgbheart. I have plenty of aus there, and more on the way.

Hello and welcome to The Burhouse!

There are many things to find here, but before you get to it, there are some important things you should know!

This blog is run by two people, Mod Windows & Mod Dial-up. We'll not be involved in the overarching story told here, but we are the ones creating the art, stories, and answering asks. There will be more about us under 'read more'. Posts that involve us speaking will be tagged with #windowsstartup and #dialingin respectively.

The Burhouse is a simple concept. All of Wilbur's bursonas have for one reason or another found themselves within the same world/universe as our own, and in Wilbur's home! There are 19 of them, including Wilbur 'the streamer'.

For our own sake, and fun story reasons, each of these 'burs have their own nicknames/code names as well as back stories, and things that set them apart from others. Differing ages, looks, backgrounds, and dozens and dozens of headcanons. The basics will be covered under the 'read more'.

On that note, there will be a few ships included. Yes that means this is a sootbur blog, though not entirely centric around the ships. Don't like it, move on! We're just having fun here.

There is also platonic relationships, rivalry, and found family. The whole lot. There will be allusions to things that may be nsfw, so please be mindful. Everything will be tagged appropriately.

There are several 'burs, and they will be tagged if they appear in a post. Stuff like 'ghostbur' 'raftbur' 'mccbur' etc, etc. Though again, they do all have names, so please use the read more as reference about the basics of each one!

This is an askblog! Feel free to send asks about the burs, what they do, etc. They will be answered in character (unless the asks are for the mods).

Submissions are also open.

Depending, we may even draw or write things more for it!

Sometimes we make content that doesn't fit the timeline of the blog, or we make aus of this au. For that?

what are the explinations/reasons behind everyones nicknames? (talking about why they chose what they chose specifically)

This gets a lil long, so the entire list is under read more!

Basically, the names have some sort of loose tie to the source the bur comes from, or is related to them in some way. That’s how we chose them from an outside standpoint. It was us just having fun with names! In universe they all got them in kinda different ways though.

(Not going to tag all of them)

Wilbur - The Original He’s cc!Wilbur basically, so he gets to keep the name

Lmanbur - General He led the revolution, and could be considered a general to his army. At first, he wanted to be called General Soot or President Soot. It was very quickly shortened to just General.

Skybur - Milo He named himself after an old fish.

Walter Crondale This is the name he was born with in his world.

Earthbur - Pilot At first his nickname constantly changed between these absurd nicknames. He spoke a lot about flying planes when he first arrived. They were surprised he was able to do that. He would go into detail about pilots training and so everyone sort of just started calling him that.

100bur - God He is quite literally a being of deity level power. He calls himself a God. The others shorten it to God.

Lavabur - Johnathan He named himself after an old friend.

Simpbur - Jared He ranted about a guy named Jared so much that everyone (who was there when he arrived) collectively decided that was his name now. He reclaimed it.

Phantombur - Casper He’s a friendly ghost. Similar to Ghostbur, everyone just called him Phantombur for a while. The nickname Casper actually came from Ghostbur.

Pogbur - Ozymandias/Ozy Wilbur gave him the name Ozymandias because he refused to give himself a nickname. This was further shortened to Ozy.

Tiptup He was a streamer in his world. It was easiest to just use his cc!name for his nickname.

Raftbur - Ishmael It’s his chosen sailor name.

Ghostbur - Blue He likes blue. At first Wilbur would call him Ghostbur, but he didn’t like that, so the name Blue sort of stuck.

Argbur - Edgar In the Editor ARG, several poems are referenced, and a majority are by Edgar Allan Poe. The name came from there. When he woke up and was asked for a name, it sort of just felt right. Fun fact! The burs that don’t get along with Edgar will call him ‘Poe’.

Revivebur - Soot It's his last name. It's derogatory. It was started by Ozy, probably.

Rustbur - Becquerel/Bec One of the various measurements for radiation via a geiger counter is in the units becquerels! Growing up it was probably one of the first things he was taught how to read, so that’s the name he got. His name is shortened to Bec by most.

30bur - Aeronaut He was an aeronaut (traveler by airship of some kind) in his world. When he arrived he said, “I’m just an aeronaut please don’t hurt me” then didn’t speak for a while so the name stuck.

Mccbur - #224/Teufor His name comes from his assigned number in MCC (or just The Championships as he knows them).

Contestants often made nicknames for each other by butchering whatever numbers they were assigned, rather than handing out actual names.

Amongbur (Among Us) - Agent (Wilby) Agent is just what he is. Agent Wilby was his nickname on the starship.

The window creaked as Jared lift and pushed it open. A burst of cold air was pulled into the warm vacuum of their room.

Edgar shivered.

“We’re doing this?” “Yeah, of course we are. We’ll be back before even Ishmael wakes up.”

“Then let’s get a move on.”

Edgar had moved gently past Jared, sticking a leg out the window, before ducking and pulling himself out. There was a thud as his feet hit the ground.

Jared peered out the window, a worry flashing across his face.

"Come on, I'll catch you if you fall."

With a deep breath, Jared grabbed onto the ledge of the window, he kicked his legs out, and jumped.

The night air was cold, but that was of no bother to either of them, not when they were together.

The streets were near empty, lending itself to keeping this outing a secret. The last thing they needed was to be caught by one of Wilbur’s fans.

Jared’s fingers remained intertwined with Edgar’s dragging him down streets he’d walked a million times before, a different life. This time, he was happy doing it. Soft laughs echoed from him, full of wistfulness and disbelief.

“You know, I’ve been down this way too, you don’t have to run.”

Edgar laughed lowly, Jared had stopped, giving a sheepish grin.

“I’m just… excited! It’s just the two of us… and I always imagined taking someone down this way on a- a date. That’s what this is, isn’t it?”

“It might as well be. Slow down, we’ve got nearly all night.”

“Yeah- yeah okay, c’mon though.”

Hand in hand, the rush of the night slowed. It was a refreshing feeling, being alive and with someone who liked you. Jared thought so anyway. Edgar felt as if for once, the chill of the night didn’t matter.

It was natural, walking along the streets at night. It was natural for both of them, like breathing. They knew the roads like they knew themselves, each other.

The two found themselves at a bridge, a small one. Nothing bigger than a small creek flowed below.

Jared found himself leaning over the rails, looking at slow moving water below. It was a familiar sight. The water rippled as he'd lightly kicked a piece of gravel over the edge.

Edgar’s hand found its place resting atop Jared’s.

“You know… It was like this, before I uh, woke up at Wil’s.”

Jared kept his voice quiet, turning his hand upright to hold Edgar’s instead.

“A nice night, end of summer… river was bigger though, so was the bridge-” “Westminster?”

“That’s the one.” “Me too. It was nearly Winter though.” Silence lay over them like a gentle blanket, not overbearing. It was unfortunate then, that neither really dealt well with silence.

Jared was the first to break it.

“Do you think we would’ve been friends… before all this?”

“Well… I’m not sure. Didn’t have any friends, just Tommy.”

“Yeah… me too.”

“If it’s about… how you are, Jared I- I wouldn’t have minded, or cared. If we had met, talked, I’m sure we would’ve clicked just the same.”

Softly, Jared had hummed, squeezing Edgar’s hand as he peered down at the water below. He turned then, standing up on the tips of his shoes to press a kiss to Edgar’s cheek.

“Wish I would’ve known you then.”

He’d wished he’d known more about himself.

Edgar turned from the railing, sliding his hand from Jareds to rest on his waist instead. In a swift motion, he’d lent down and kissed his forehead.

“Let’s not think about then, it wigs you out. Let’s just think of us and now. Because now…”

He’d pressed a kiss to Jared’s cheek.

“Now… I’ve got you in my arms and I’m not letting go.”

He pressed his lips against Jared’s. Soft and warm… he couldn’t help but slip his arms lower, lifting Jared up into the kiss.

Jared had jumped into it, wrapping his legs around Edgar’s torso as he was held, unable to wipe the grin from his face.

“Good. You couldn’t drop me if you tried.”

He kissed Edgar this time, warm against cold. He didn’t mind, he never would.

i'm not sure if this has been asked, but how do you pronounce everyone's names? 'cause i know there are some that are quite easy to know, just by looking at the spelling, but some of them confuse me just a tad, heh- ,,💌

Here’s some of the ones we thought may have been the hardest to pronounce? This is how we pronounce them (just said y’know faster, instead of syllable by syllable or whatever!). If there were others, please let us know!

Is there a reason why some bursonas are taller or shorter than cc wilbur? Other than simpbur and becquerel (which I assume is because he's younger). Or was it just to make the designs more varied?

Generally it's for variation!

But for Becquerel and Ishmael, it's due to their ages.

Jared's height is based off of song lyrics from the e-girl trilogy.

Tiptup is a raccoon, Walter sort of just has the vibes, etc.

When we draw them, even ones who are cc!Wilbur's height may also vary! Ozy has atrocious posture and appears much shorter than he is. Blue is as light as a feather and sits on his tip toes/hovers so appears much taller.

There's also reasons that not all the 'burs in our AU are cis, so height is a contributing factor for some of them, but again it's not the only reason. The reason varies greatly depending on the bur.
