the eldest daughter of house ryswell; her father pushed her mother for many years to produce a coveted son. bethany was believed by joseth to be an unacceptable option for heir – gwyn did not support this view, but was reluctant to speak up against her husband. she turned her frustration out onto her daughter and attempted to raise bethany to be perfect.

gwyn's eventual death led to joseth remarrying and eventually having a son, though the boy was sickly. he was still considered preferential – and when bethany turned 16, her father was eager to see her married.

bethany would subsequently marry three times – first to a northern lord (who died in a hunting accident), then to a riverland lord (who died of spring sickness), and finally to another northern lord (who died of old age). her first two marriages were childless, and she was suspected of infertility – her final marriage was therefore to an older lord who sought a second wife for comfort following the death of his longtime wife. this marriage ironically would lead to the birth of her son osric. bethany's status as thrice-widowed has been the subject of some gossip; she is nicknamed the bronze widow (so called for the bronze field of her House Sigil)

bethany intended to remain in the home of her third husband following his death, however the unexpected death of her younger brother — who died without issue — left her to inherit the seat of the rills. she took up the role as lady of house ryswell; a position she had been born to — and one she had always secretly coveted.

now in a place of power after having spent a life forced into submission, bethany is eager to rule ably — and to indulge in pleasure.

the third born of the martell children - trystane was in the relatively unique position of being free. or rather, relatively free to do what he wanted with his life.

of course, he wasn't without expectations but for the most part he was free to travel and pursue his passions which led to a period of five years traveling through essos.

when he did return to westeros - the twenty five year old trystane attracted the attention of the widowed queen valaena and they were soon wed.

trystane was not thrilled to be forced into such a marriage but he shut up and did what he's told. a habit he's continued to this day, showing the public he's a dutiful husband while maintaining a private life behind the scenes.

blood is thickest in the veins of the firstborn; with each new one, it dilates, leaving room for disobedience and rebellion. if that were truly the case, then lyrica would stand proud and tall at the end of the dayne lineage, but a twist of fate placed her atop, pushing her to the front lines of heritage and duty.

perhaps the fault lies within her parents, who shouldn't have given so much freedom to a child, but even the seven knows that she's always been too wilful to remain obedient, unable to embody the very thing that she was born to be.

they promise her power, a name to carry, all of starfall, but she only shrugs her shoulders and smiles, unwilling to play along.

she turns to swords instead, the art of dueling, and though she may never be a knight or the sword of the morning, she would at least never allow herself to be groomed into submission with a blade in her hand — and by gods, she's good at it. when she fights, it looks as if she's dancing instead, for it's a mirage of something sharp and unruly.

when she's old enough, she begins to dream of escaping, both the duties that loom over her head and the ever-tall walls of starfall, becoming a mistress of voyage. all of dorne, the reach, even the north, she sees it all, afraid to look over her shoulder — because that's where duty hides.

she wants and wants and wants — that is the root of all the rot. she wants the best wine and the sweetest fruit, so ripe that it melts on the tongue, the best views, of a verdant garden and stinging sunrise, the invigorating scent of freshest roses and seasalt, and the warmest arms she's ever known. that is all.

a quick summary: a hedonistic heir of starfall who doesn't want to be the heir and wants to live life according to her own rules, but she keeps failing, especially now when her parents expect her to follow in their footsteps and marry someone of their chosing to better her standing and of house dayne. she's sort of envious of her younger siblings since they are not burdened with such things, and get to forge their own paths. at least she'll always be one of the best, unsung swordsmen of house dayne.

she is greatly fascinated by the lord of the light and as an incredibly inquisitive woman, she is drawn to the faith. she's greatly interested in reading and translating old scriptures, as well as learning anything new.

When you think of duty and honour, it’s impossible not to think about Martyn Dondarrion. He’s one of the youngest children of Ruling Lord and Lady Dondarrion and from a young age, Martyn took his position very seriously. He attended his lessons and sessions on the training grounds, studying about different subjects although his real interest was in the battlefield. He wanted to be a warrior, to reach the position of knight one day. Of course, his main goal is to have the chance to join the Queensguard one day but he knows he has to do a lot to prove himself worthy of the position. Martyn wanted to make his parents proud, more than anything he wanted to serve his house well. There was always a fear on the back of his mind, that he would end up being a failure and a disappointment to his parents, that he would fail and let everyone down. That self doubt would eat at him but with each passing year, Martyn grew more confident on his qualities. Along with his interests in politics, he was also interested in learning more of the history of his house, along with Westeros as a whole. 

Martyn is known for being fierce, courageous and strong, all qualities that are expected to be found in a future knight. Along with that, whenever he had free time, he liked to help out around Blackhaven, often going to the small folk and offer his help. It wasn’t something that would often be seen from a lord, but Martyn believed that it was a good way to keep people happy. And at the end of the day, he would be seen sharing a drink with the small folk at the local tavern. He always had a big sense of adventure since he was young, wondering what it would be like to take off and explore the unknown.

Martyn has proved himself a capable fighter in many tourneys, even managing to win some. Although, he's far from being thought about for a future position in the Queensguard. He knows he has a long way to go but he won't give up, he will prove himself worth of the white cloak.

HISTORY

-           Auron doesn’t have a cruel bone in his body compared to what most might expect a man living in great privilege to be. He’s a kind and gentle soul to all that he meets regardless of where they stand on the totem pole. For this reason, he was known as The People’s Prince for his humbleness and genuine interest in helping those who are less fortunate than him. It is one of the qualities he received from his nanny, and he continues to nurture it the same way she did. However, by no means does that mean he’s soft. Auron won’t hesitate to use violence and pull rank whenever someone he loves is hurt or his family or house is threatened.

-           He’s assumed to be shy due to his calm and bookish nature, but he most certainly is not. He is quite outgoing and enjoys a good time with whatever company can keep up with him as he feels some of the nobles are a bit stuffy. It’s only when he wants to that Auron falls into the background to avoid bringing attention to himself. When attention is on him, he’s known for being very charming, nicknamed Auron the Charming for this, and has an aura of confidence that’s befitting of a prince. To those close to him, though, he has a teasing sense of humor that can sometimes lean towards dry and sarcastic.

-           He’s very intelligent and excelled in his studies. Auron’s thirst for knowledge was apparent from a young age, and he was sent to the Citadel by his mother to further his education. His time there was some of the best years of Auron’s life, even if his tutors were challenged by his constant need for knowledge sometimes. He is the reason Dragonstone's library is stocked full of books and scrolls from far and wide, helping to keep his quickness to boredom when he’s not challenged at bay. Auron believes that his mind should be as sharp as the sword on his hip and refuses to stop learning.

-           As with almost every Targaryen before him, a dragon egg was placed in Aurons’s crib upon his birth, and it hatched the moment it was beside him. He named him Valyrion in honor of the Valyrian Freehold, becoming a dragonrider at the age of two and ten, and they were inseparable from then on. He’s black and green, boarding on neon in the light, with fierce green eyes, and has unusually long front horns that resemble a crown. It was for this that he was nicknamed The Green Crown. His size has swollen significantly over the years thanks to Auron's constant travels, allowing the dragon to roam more freely than allowed in Westeros. The two share a close bond and he prefers to remain close to Auron. Because of this, and his massive size, he makes home outside of the King's Landing whenever Auron visits his family.

-           Knowing he will never be king, and relieved because of it, Auron turned his attention to other pursuits. He has always been a curious lad, especially about the world, and has been an explorer at heart since childhood. It didn't matter if it was the Red Keep to learn its secrets or the streets of Kings Landing during his visits - exploring is in his blood as much as the dragon is. This was the reason behind his frequent absences, spending his time traveling the world on dragonback in search of its many hidden wonders and contributing his discoveries to the Citadel. Auron’s deepest desire is to spend the rest of his life exploring the remainder of the known world with Valyrion, but he knows that he has duties to attend to now that he's older. That still doesn’t stop him from exploring his surroundings or taking occasional trips to Essos from time to time.

-           He fell in love with a lowborn boy who was a servant in the castle when he was younger. He thought of the boy as the Gods gift to him and was with him for a few years, even planning to secretly marry him, until he died of mysterious circumstances a few weeks after his eighteenth name day. The death of his other half crushed Auron, and he is still haunted by it despite it being years since it happened.

CONNECTIONS

Childhood friends – one that enjoyed exploring alongside Auron and now loves hearing all about the prince’s stories about his travels. Or another that would join him in the library where they would gush over history, dragonlore, and other types of knowledge for hours. Maybe even one that would spar with Auron during weapon training.

Enemies – could be from any time during his life, past or present. Maybe some disapproved of his travels and thought it was childish behavior for a prince or were envious that Auron could be that free when they couldn’t. Another could believe that his kindness and gentleness were all manipulation or his discoveries were lies and swear to expose him.

The one who killed his lover – this could be revealed over time when Auron begins to dig deeper into what happened now that he’s home. He’s always suspected it was a murder, but no one believed him. It could be anyone, whether someone closest to Auron that he never expected or a jealous enemy he’s only recently discovered.

alysanne was born on a cool summer night, when the moon hung highest in the sky. it is said her cries were very soft and the maesters worried the babe would not make it through the night. but to everyone's surprise, she did. and while she grew slowly and was always quite small, her personality was certainly not.

alysanne was always a bright, happy girl. she brought with her a light and even the most melancholic or stoic found it hard not to smile in her presence.

being the youngest of her parents children, she was certainly doted on by her parents.

her dragon, moonfyre, was actually hatched from the egg placed in her cradle as a babe. the pale white dragon instantly bonded to the princess upon hatching. alysanne kept the beast in her room with her, sleeping with it nightly, until the she-dragon became too large and was then moved to the dragonpit.

alysanne had been eager to ride the young beast-- perhaps too eager-- and snuck down to the dragonpit at night to do so. in trying to climb atop its back, she slipped and fell and cut both of her knees up pretty bad. there's still some scarring there to this day, though luckily this is easily hidden.

now flying is one of her greatest joys and she can often be seen flying above king's landing, the kingswood and blackwater bay.

while alysanne had once dreamed of finding a handsome young lord to marry and settle down with, nowadays she dreads the idea of marriage for it means she must leave her family and the only home she's ever known behind. she knows she's only getting older, time is ticking, and it is only a matter of time before her parents choose a match.

Alester was never very strong physically; rather, he spent all his time in the library of Highgraden reading anything he could get his hands on.

When Joanna was born, the maesters didn't put much faith in her survival. She was a very small baby, having been born premature and weak. But almost as an omen of what her life would be like, Joanna fought hard, she fought for survival even as a baby, she had so much to give to the world. So days went by, then weeks and months and Joanna grew stronger. It was a slow process, but she fought against all odds and survived the first months of her life. From then on, even though she had a few health problems growing up, Joanna became a strong and independent young woman.

She didn't want to just be a lady, that would hide in her castle when things got tough. She didn't want to have to rely on others for protection, she wanted to be able to protect herself. When she was old enough, Joanna had a few lessons with the maester of arms and learned to use a sword and the basics of fighting. She wasn't the strongest or most skilled, but she definitely could hold her own in a fight. If war was ever to come, Joanna didn't want to be one of those who stayed behind, she wanted to be there fighting for what she believed in. She also took an interest in politics, having studied often with the maester, not just the politics of Westeros but also the art of warfare.

Joanna was loved by the smallfolk since she was a young girl, she would often go walk among them with her father, who always told her that they were what made a kingdom, the smallfolk were its heart and soul and she carried that with her even now. She often is seen distributing food and other supplies among them, visiting orphanages and trying to make the orphans' lives a little better.

lucinda tully came screaming into the world just minutes behind her twin brother, wyllam. her mother had not been expecting another babe, though her belly had grown quite large on account of them two.

lucinda was a bit smaller than her brother, but the way she cried and cried into the early morning showed the maesters that she was just as strong. and as she grew, she would prove time and time again that she could be just as strong.

despite her septas instilling in her what it means to be a lady, lucinda insisted on participating in activities such as hunting, horseback riding, fishing, you name it. she had a great yearning to do as much as she possibly could to fulfill that adventurous spirit of hers.

this is not to say she was a poor lady, either. she still did as she was instructed and learned needlework and how to walk and talk like a lady should. it's just that she preferred to be outdoors, is all.

her mother often scolded her for ruining dresses or intricate hairstyles she had woven into her raven tresses by playing outside. her father would chime in, though there was always a smirk on his face when he did.

when her mother died, lucinda fell into a rut. she regretted all those times she would run away from her in favor of some outdoor activity. weeks turned into months turned into almost a whole year where she hardly engaged in activities she normally would. she had to be reminded to take care of herself, even.

she has since recovered, though she is not at all fond of her step-mother. lucinda can't grasp why her father would remarry such a young woman, especially when he already has an heir in her brother, as well as spares in her and her siblings. she bears no ill will towards her youngest brother, though she doesn't interact with him very much, and she absolutely tries to avoid her step-mother as much as possible.
