*Alex, B, Hafiz, Scraps, Mo, and Wisp somehow teleport to some sort of wasteland. A forest, covered with fog*

"Oop." Alex is less than surprised, having gotten used to this by now. B Is slightly less so, but the others...

"What the-" Hafiz is instantly checking on Scraps, adjusting one of the sensor systems into place. The child shivers, not used to that kind of feeling. "You good kiddo?"

"M-miss Alex?!" Mo blurts out, looking around and then running to help Wisp up off the ground. She rubs her lower back.

"I'm okay honey... What... where-"

"I have a friend in another dimension that seems to have some issues with his... inter-dimensional slash time-travel stuff. It's not really hit this many before."

"Is this something we should worry about?" Mo asks as he hugs his fiancee, worry painting his expression.

"Probably not, but between me and B, we should all be good until we find him." Alex shrugs and brushes off her pants.

"Then that confirms it. At least thus far." Alex sighs as they head into the train station, waving to Wisp as the drone helped Cassidy and B out of the back of the Van with a polite smile.

"Have a safe trip you three!" Her hair was brushed back as she watched them go.

"As far as we've learned, Scraps can only Teleport places they know." B taps her chin with a finger. "Though, that's with concentration. If they were trying to avoid Hack, as you mentioned, then it's likely they only though of someone they might have felt safe with."

"And the teleport put them in the general vicinity of that person. So it was probably someone on that planet in that area that they were trying to get to, or at least thinking of."

On Cassidy’s phone rested a message from Alex.

The human herself had been in her workshop on and off since Cassidy had gotten up the day following her arrival, leaving B to mention that the human was working on something that would be part of one of the first things that Cassidy would be coming along to take part in for the internship. B herself had been doing a few things of her own, though it was less anything to do with their goal and more organizing movies a few times for some reason.

It left the drone to see Alex, the human working on what she could clearly see was a Nanite. A large screen was showing the view that was at her tooltips, a little glass dish with a magnet under it holding the teeny thing in place as she worked. Her hands set the tools aside, and she rubbed at her eyes as her hands were given a break from the delicate work that she had been focusing on for so long.

It was probably the perfect chance for the drone to announce herself.

She makes sure to thank B before going to the workshop. When she sees the screen, she's impressed.

"Hey, Alex. Did you want to see me?"

She walks further in and takes another look at the screen, then the dish.

"I've never seen one of these up close, or separated."

Hell yeah let's go.

1. What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

Ah yes - I think I have spoken about this before but Riku was originally called Rinku and was actually a version of Link lol. It was because my interest was transferring from Zelda to Persona so I decided to combine the two into an AU! Then as I started to really get into Persona I decided to develop Riku into his own character - as a separate Persona OC. It's kind of evolved from there then lol - overall I would say he's gone through two major changes since he became a standalone Persona OC.

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for aesthetic or are there any other reasons they look the way they do?

Hmm. In terms of his physical design he has changed quite a bit - he started out as essentially a Sylvain clone lol (I was a big fan of his design what can I say) and he's evolved into his own character now - mostly from me just going "what if I gave him this or changed this?" and then went from there.

In terms of his outfits I've spent a LOT of time working on them - in particular his thief outfit. I researched each of the other thief outfits and then worked from there - stuff like shape language and colour palettes. He's gone through multiple iterations - most of which I've never shared but I'm pretty happy with the look now (even if I must admit. He is blue Dante 😭).

Overall I would say with every aspect of Riku's design its a mix of what I personally like and a lot of research as well. Character design is something I'm extremely passionate about and I use Riku to basically help me learn and improve that!

11. Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?

Yes to both actually! Riku naturally draws inspiration from some of my personal favourite characters over the years (he's kind of an combination of all of them tbh) so some resemblance is definitely intentional. I would say the big ones are Zagreus (ESPECIALLY him), Dante from DMC, Spiderman and Simba (after the new changes their backstory is less similar but the plot beats are familiar shall we say). All of them have had a huge effect on me and so have affected Riku too.

There's been plenty of unintentional references too - most of which have been brought up by people on here (Karma from Assassination Classroom is one I remember - and that's also how I decided on his Japanese VA). Other times I'll get into a piece of media and realize that the character I get attached too has some resemblance to Riku lol. A very recent example of this is thanks to Arcane - Jayce and Vi both have stuff in common with Riku!

20. Share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting to ramble about.

Hm there's honestly so much I want to share that I wouldn't even know where to begin lol. I guess I can say that because of your Asuka posting I've been thinking about them interacting again!

I'm kind of lazy about posting art and idk if I will post this but there's a cool study I did of the Arcane style (the blending mostly) where I drew Riku based on a screenshot of Jayce (S2 E8) and tbh it might be the best Riku I've ever drawn I don't think I'll top it.

A small thing I could share is that I have officially changed Riku's eye colour to a reddish brown and he no longer wears the blue contacts. Tbh I just enjoyed how the blue eyes looked with the red hair which is why I wanted to keep it somewhat - but now I'm way more used to the reddish brown eyes so that's his eye colour (might even change it to a deeper brown like my own eyes lol).

anyways as an echo knight, the idea (right now) is that the echoes don’t actually listen to rue because they fucking hate her. to them, this is kinda just a pathetic version of themselves. whatever actions the echoes take is just what that version of rue would do, as they wouldn’t listen to what rue tells them to do anyways

[WARNING! 2 RIFTS DETECTED. TIMESPAN BETWEEN RIFTS: ESTIMATED: 10MINUTES] *First, a bright flash happens. Alex and B go unconscious for several minutes. When they wake up, Alex has been turned into a drone, B has been turned into a human. Then, Alex, B, Hafiz, Scraps, Mo, and Wisp get teleported to a shoreline. Although it is cloudy, so the sun isn’t an issue*

Alex blinks, red LEDs respond on her visor, though the right eye is lighter in color and flickers slightly. There's a couple cracks that run over the right side, corresponding to the edges of her scar. Her hair is the same color and style as it was before she got teleported.

B just stares, partly amused that her human companion had shrunk by a couple inches while she herself was still as tall as she had been. Her hair is a platinum blonde, eyes a pale grey-blue, and skin an extremely pale tone.

They glance to the stunned drones near them, then look at themselves.

"It changed our clothes too..." Alex hummed as she took note of B's slightly-too-large-for-her coat.

"But a direct swap, better than me being otherwise human-nude." B crossed her arms.

Scraps was focused on the dinosaur in the distance. "Is biggie..." The little one whispered. It caught Mo's attention, the young man gasping a little and holding his to-be wife. Wisp's hand was over her core, still orange in color. "What's that?" She whispered to Mo.

Ventus, who has spent days on the streets of Old Mondstadt listening to the voices of the people. Who has silently watched as parents take care of their young. Watch kids escort their aunts to the stores. The wind around him is so cold

He plays his lyre. Its the only thing he has on him. He would rather die than say where he acquired it, and at the end of the day its his lyre.

Ventus closes his eyes. For the breifedt moment he couldn't hear the deafening gales around him. He is in the eye of the hurricane. What song is he even playing? He switched from one track to the other minutes ago and was now improvising a solo.

The families are still talking to each other.

At the end of the day, he is just background music

.

Then one day a creature bumps into him. Radiating the same warmth as a prayer and eyes akin to his god's. Was it a spy? Was it a child? Was it a puppet?

Wearily, he asks for a name. Smiling as he tells the sprite how he wishes to make ballads of the little thing. It flutters around him, occassionally stumbling in mid air like its drunk. It gives out a little squeak as it gestures to itself.

Ventus tries to mimic that chime, but his mouth can't hit the same notes. The sprite speaks more and more, yet Vrntus can't understand a thing. He just smiles and nods as he subconsciously plays his lyre.

Before he knows it, he can feel the chill of night. Or at least what he thinks it night. The elders of the city tell what night is supposed to be, but the winds had carried away those voices a long time ago.

Tales of an object called the moon. How it would shift as the weeks go by. How it could disappear and be reborn once anew- surrounded by her starry sisters.

Night.

He hated it.

He hates how cold it is. How dark it is. How every candle and life is snuffed by the wind.

Yet the creature is still hear, making a nest on his lap.

Its warm.

Letting go of his lyre for just a breif moment, he runs his fingers down the cloak of the sprite. Soft yet smooth. Was this what a bird felt like?

Tomorrow would be another day. Tomorrow he could try to pronounce his ... freind's name better. Tomorrow he could do so much.

Despite the being being on his lap, he felt a warmth in his chest. Something he has never felt before. Something that made him think of protecting this creature.

Ventus rests his eyes as he carries his first friend, unware he would do this everynight til the day he died

I've been thinking off and on about my idiot plattooon(aff) but especially about Dakota since we have more in common and get together first :0

Cav and Dakota get into arguments a lot wherein Cavendish accuses Dakota of being selfish and like, okay he doesn't like sharing his food. I can see where his annoyance comes from in that specifically(though I also feel that everyone is allowed to have things just for themselves) but that's really it though? Like, the rest of the time he is shown to be pretty selfless ESPECIALLY when it really matters!

Hell, in the first and only flashback we see of the two of them meeting and getting assigned to one another he takes a short cut through the Mesozoic period recklessly to get a burrito but as soon as he sees a couple of children in danger? He drops the burrito and goes right to their rescue!!

Not to mention that when he accidentally saves Milo again in the show's present time, he treats him with respect and is generally protective over him! Over and over he puts himself in harm's way to keep Milo and his friends safe even when Cavendish is suspicious of Milo! Like, he generally cares about other people and will defend them with his life! It's one of the things I connect with him most on <33333

And OFC THERE'S THE WHOLE ISLAND OF DAKOTAS!!

He's usually all for breaking the rules but without a time machine he can't go back and fix things or save Cavendish's life anymore SO HE BUCKLES DOWN AND FOLLOWS THE RULES TO KEEP THEM SAFE AND GE CHASTISES CAVENDISH FOR DOING THE SAME THING FOR HIM CAUSE HE CANT GO BACK AND UNDUE HIM

shapeshifter au

I have an au I never rlly think abt where William didn't fall of a cliff and was instead eaten by the creechurs of the woods

And a specific young shapeshifter goes "this kid is dead, he probably has a loving family, I know what he looks like and want a family" and just decides to take his place (this is inspired by some other game or story just like this but I can't remember what it is xd)

So instead of smoke and fire and ghost powers and stuff, he can just change shape similarly to Vyncent in a way

But the shape the shifter takes isn't perfect, so maybe the original Will had like, dark brown hair, the new Will has black hair

Maybe new Wills eyes are just a little too wide and empty, maybe he's a little too pale, but his parents are so desperate because he's been missing for weeks, so they accept it anyway

And any slip-up is dismissed as, "oh, he was missing in the woods for weeks alone! Who knows what he saw, of course he can't remember a few things"

But David sees through it (even if he's only just really suspicious of new Will) and that's the reason why him and Will don't get along instead
