Happy Autumn!
So for some advice for practicing in a small space can be the same advice as for secret witches (witches in the forest). Check out tags for that!
Here are some tips from me!
Use a shoe box or other kind of storage box for your altar if you want one. Keep the supplies inside and use the top as a altar space or witch crafting station. You can decorate the box how you want, and even keep a small cloth, like a handkerchief, inside and use as an altar cloth on top.
Scented candles are great instead of incense. Or even room sprays, oil diffusers, things like that. I like stick and reed oil diffusers from places like Pier 1, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
Use a small piece of furniture as a decorative or altar space! I use this clock I got from a yard sale!
Tumblr media
Instead of buying witch books, if you don’t have the space for them, rent them from the library! Then use your own journal/book of shadows/grimoire write the information that you need (with references so you can go back and check that book out again or if you want to post things online).
Create a relaxing retreat where you practice your magic, in a small quiet space. Pick a space like the bathroom, a favorite chair with a side table, on the patio on a yoga mat, in a chair near a bookshelf/reading nook, your desk, on your bed, etc. and cleanse and protect that space from prying eyes. Maybe add some magical charms, figures of deities, wind chimes, candles, statues, pictures or paintings, banners, etc to make that spot your own. They don’t have to be obvious magical knick-knacks either, they can be everyday objects.
Use wall shelves for storage and decorations of magical supplies.
Keep a witchcraft kit on a tool box, makeup box or other sort of tote. Then pull it out when you need to use it and store it away when you are done. Great for secret witches.
Keep some magical apps on your phone, like a tarot or oracle app, moon phases, herbalist apps, things like that. It saves rooms from books and charts and stuff.
Use a portable Bluetooth speaker for mediations or other magical music or podcast. You can use them anywhere and they can be affordable, I got mine from 5below for $5.
Use smaller items, like birthday candles instead of larger candles and tea lights instead of votives. Use smaller jars (found in craft stores), smaller icons (found or made in craft stores), smaller bottles (found in crafts stores), and even smaller tumbled stones instead of large crystals.
Keep a witch kit in a backpack and practice outside, in a backyard or park or nature in general!
Use a calendar app to keep track of important witchy dates like moon cycles or feast days or holidays you celebrate and put a reminder on your phone, instead of using a large physical calendar that takes up space.
Write your notes, journal or grimoire on your phone and backup to your email, instead of having a physical grimoire.
Hope this witch tips help you start your new witchcraft rat journey! Thanks for the ask :)
