KING ARTORIUS IS THE PENDRAGON?!??

did I miss something???? I'm almost done with avalon, and only found this out after reading the tapestry from the side quest that makes you collect a bunch of pieces of it from all over the world

I did most of avalon awhile ago, so did I just forget??? I feel like that's a huge thing, everyone is always talking about defeating the pendragon, but no one ever mentions that it is the king (albeit transformed from evil magic BUT STILL) like huh?? can someone tell me when they first mention that?

This left me thinking...if the Gang hadn't travel to the past, what would have happened?

First, arthurian legend 101:

Arthur and Morgana are not biological siblings.

Uther Pendragon (Arthur's father) adopts Morgana after finding out she was the daugther of a druid. As he wants to erradicate magic from his kingdom, he mass murders the druids, only letting Morgana live without knowing her few magical gifts.

Now, into the Theory!

Things flow as usual. Arthur gets Excalibur, trapping Nimue in the cave. Gwenivere dies at the claws of the Stackling, letting to Morgana's powers blooming and training with Merlin (and Douxie).

Where things go different is from the moment we watch. The Gang arrives in the past.

The Dungeon Break

As we watch history unfold, we know the Dungeon Break happens because Claire and the gang want to save Jim from Arthur's punishment.

Without their intervention, what would have happened?

Morgana would've had the same discussion with his brother, maybe not leading to the Dungeon Break, either to the punishment. Still, their relationship is thin, paper thin, it requires no strength to break.

Troll Hunt

As there was no escape, they wouldn't need to go hunt for the trolls that left during dawn.

Despite that, I think Arthur would've asked for Morgana's loyalty.

What comes to my mind is that this discussion the have had for years now just rises up until either Morgana auto-exhiles herself, leaving as the original Arthurian legend marks. Or Arthur exhiling her, so he cannot hurt her more than he already has. Still would have led to her hand being cut off in the struggle.

Also, Merlin would have wanted to moderate the fight, failing.

That also could be the reason why she is so bitter at it when she fights against Jim in "Eternal Night".

Morgana's Death

Excalibur's shattering

The Lady's freedom

With those things out of the timeline, what follows?

Morgana becomes the Arcane Order's champion.

Changeling attack on Camelot.

The alliances

The path of the Amulet

The Battle of Killahead bridge.

After exhile, Morgana would've wandered for a couple of days, searching for some sanctuary. At some point fading near the place of the Arcane Order.

Having watched over her for years, they would've nurture her back to health, give her the golden armor and her mission: Restoring the balance.

That would've lead to the attack on Camelot, but not as we watch it unfold. There would be no tournament for the right to kill Bular, this would be the real Dungeon Break.

The Changeling gets into the kingdom, freeing the trolls and distracting the knights with the explosions, helping the prisoners run without turning into stone. He also tries to kill Arthur, saved by Merlin, both get the news of Morgana's actual betrayal through the changelings transmission.

When Gunmar comes and sees Camelot ablaze, he meets Morgana. As the story we know pays off, but instead of Bular being the one to confirm the witch's actions, the Trolls running from the kingdom become the only proof of Morgana's loyalty to magic kind.

By proxy, letting Callista/Deya get into Dwuoza by the time the amulet and the alliances are done.

The battle of Killahead follows as settled, but only Merlin seals Morgana away after Arthur's death (at Belroc's hand).

Still that would lead to everything we see on Trollhunters and the 21st century chunk of Wizards.

More infos on Revival Rounds

After this Round ends we'll have a short hiatus from the main tournament for 4 one-day revival rounds. We will start with the losers of round 1 of the main tournament and work up from there until 4 characters comes on top and join the competition. It will be organised like this:

Round 1: 4 polls of 8 (32 round 1 losers)

-> top 2 of each poll go up (8 total)

Round 2: 4 polls of 6 (16 round 2 losers + 8)

-> top 2 of each poll go up (8 total)

Round 3: 4 polls of 4 (8 round 3 losers + 8)

-> top 2 of each poll go up (8 total)

Round 4: 4 polls of 3 (4 round 4 losers + 8)

Hey, all!   I’ve had several questions about which bios I’m planning on/working on or why we don’t have a certain bio.  I thought this would be the easiest way.  I’ve been using a to-do tag for a while (sort of irregularly) for my own reference but I didn’t say anything.  I’m going to just stick this in there and hopefully these updates will help both you and me if you’re curious where I’m at.

Next revised bios to be released:

Also, I should probably put this into a separate admin note but I don’t want to spam the dash.  The other thing I’m working on right now on the admin side will be a cap on the number of characters from one genre/story allowed in either written bios or in play.  We’re getting to the point with some stories that they’re going to be overwhelming if and when they’re in-play.  This is meant to be a heterogenous group and I don’t want that to change.  The stories I’m specifically considering capping right now are: Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz/Wicked, Hercules (Mythology in general), original characters/humans, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Peter Pan, and Rise of the Guardians.  I’m going do some really boring counting and thinking before I make a hard decision, but please know I’m thinking on it.  I probably won’t accept OC applications or written bios for any of these while this is under consideration.

Prompts 1-11 are always open.  See the navi or the prompts tag if you want to work on something to help further character development anytime.  We have a new prompt about scars/marks/tattoos for characters here.

Please note: A ‘standing’ task we have that anyone is welcome to do at any time is a bio update.  We’ve been around for a long time and some of the bios don’t reflect all your great development and plotting.  If you ever want your bio altered, please send me a paragraph or so that I can add.  You can do this any time you want!

Our next event is not scheduled.

Our next plot drop is not scheduled.  Because these are so consuming and involve the whole RP, I like to keep them a little more spaced out. I would say the soonest we’ll have another one is in May.

We’ll do an M!A soon, probably once those of us in school are through finals.

I’m always accepting suggestions for memes, especially quick and easy ones.
