SPEAK

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Isaiah 6:5NIV

A prophetic seminar we attended included Heidi Baker. The anointing of Holy Spirit was particularly strong upon the evening she spoke. The entire worship team knelt, faces to the floor for along time because God’s Presence was so heavy.

Under this anointing, I heard in my spirit, ‘your heart is divided. You totally love me now, but not always.’ Holy Spirit was right. I had something to repent of before I could partake more of His Presence.  

Isaiah came into God’s Presence. First thing out of his mouth was our text. “I am a man of unclean lips.” Often I’ve thought, ‘why did he say “unclean lips?” Reading Oswald Chambers, ‘My Utmost For His Highest,’ July 3— I understood. “When I get into the presence of God, I do not realize that I am a sinner in an indefinite sense; I realize the concentration of sin in a particular feature of my life. …The conviction is concentrated on —I am this, or that, or the other.” We can’t push the conviction under the rug— you’re laid bare in God’s Presence.

As God’s prophet, Isaiah didn’t dare have lips speaking the devil’s language, thoughts, or negativity. Say what? Prophets are mouthpieces for God, saying what they’re told. Those words spoken into the air are giving life to what God puts in their hearts. Afterwards, God takes those words and brings them to pass.

Look at Genesis 1:27BSB “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Question— What was God doing when He created man? Answer��� He was SPEAKING.

Since man is a duplicate of God, how then is man to create and accomplish tasks? —SPEAK. In Genesis 3 satan twisted God’s Words, fooled Eve and got Adam to sin. Subsequently, satan obtained rulership over the earth— one problem. Satan can’t speak to create. He has to get man to SPEAK evil words in order to create all of his evil works: i.e. ‘I am going to get COVID.’ ‘Good can’t ever come of whatever.’ ‘Trump isn’t coming back as President.’ ‘The communists are going to take over.’ Should thirty million people say the same thing, there’s a far greater capacity for satan to bring the words to pass.

There’s a man who says whatever he sees in his mind’s eye— which is 99% negative. ‘I told you there’d be a tornado.’ ‘I told you that child was going to do drugs.’ etc …… ad nauseam. Because this man is prophetic, he actually uses his mouth for satan to bring evil to pass. Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

James 3:5, 8ESV “The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. …no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” With the power of death and life in the spoken word, what we say matters.  

God really thumped me with this next one, James 4:11-12 “Do not speak evil against one another… The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law.”

Who are you creating for with your mouth? God or evil? Do you have "unclean lips?” Will you repent and begin speaking right wormds? It’s your choice. You choose.

PRAYER: Lord God we ask You to cause every negative word we’ve spoken to become unproductive and die, accomplishing nothing— ever. Please help us to think before we speak and only speak what edifies others, Your will and Your plans, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
