getting into arguments about corsetry in the 1920s with fanfiction authors. perhaps its time to log off.
#to be clear both about the existance of corsets in the 1920s#which were definitely a thing#constructed differently to give a different shape than victorian or edwardian corsets but definitely a thing#and also how a older woman (like 40+) who would have lived through corset-wearing times#would view corsets now that they weren't as ubiquitous#and i argue that a woman who had lived through wearing corsets would probably not find them horrific and inherently uncomfortable#the fashions that went with it she might be glad to do away with#if she has a flatter figure she might be glad that the fashionable silhouette takes less effort for her now#but finding the garment itself unspeakably horrid?? why?? she probably played tennis in that bitch!#i speak#but this author is seemingly under the assumption that every high class woman was tight lacing literally all day every day so
