Word Count: 1 503
Requested: yes
Author’s Note: Honestly I enjoyed writing it so much, it gave me some sense of comfort, and I really hope you'll feel it as well once you read it ♡ Also, yes, I am obsessed with Luke's blue eyes, you can't take it from me...
Tumblr media
A calm evening was interrupted by a sudden knock on the door. Y/N lazily got up from a couch and wandered into the hall, feeling tiredness with her whole body. Someone celebrated Fridays with friends in local bars, Y/N, though, preferred to spent it quietly that time. Watching a silly show on Netflix, she’s been wrapping herself up in an old blanket, which was given by her friend Luke few years ago. Maybe – only maybe – it was fair to correct that the poor blanket was actually stolen from him, however, in Y/N’s defence, Luke didn’t use it much anyway, so the girl only borrowed something he never needed.
Possibly, the stolen blanket made the guy to come over uninvited; in any case, once Y/N opened the door, she saw the friend on the threshold of her apartment.
“Let’s go,” without a proper greeting, Luke grabbed Y/N’s hand and dragged her out of the house.
“Where?” the girl stumbled, trying her best to stay where she was. Y/N was in her PJs, the hair was carelessly tide up in something close to a ponytail — the look that simply screamed “I’m staying in today”.
“For a drive. I’ll bring you back in few hours,” he promised, sounding both calm and determined.
“I warned you hours ago that I’m not going!” Y/N outraged, ignoring the fact that her friend drove all the way out there. The girl made it clear in her message that even though his adventitious idea sounded nice, she simply did not have any powers left for the trip. The tiredness was the size of the passing week, which fell on her shoulders sharply once Y/N entered home that evening.
“It’s just few hours!” he whined and suddenly lifted the friend from the ground to bring her to the car himself. It was almost ten o’clock in the evening, and Y/N was getting cold.
“Gosh, wait! Let me get changed at least,” the girl rolled the eyes, smiling a bit and still trying to set herself free.
“Five minutes,” Luke warned, and once he put her on the ground, Y/N hurried up inside. She hoped to shut the door in his face, however, the guy foresaw it well, so he managed to slip through the door quicker. A wide smile appeared on his face.
Even though the whole idea of going somewhere so late didn’t really excite Y/N, once she was in the car, checking all the snacks Luke bought them for the little trip, the girl thought that, perhaps, it was a nice distraction from her exhaustion for an hour or so.
“You didn’t need to change, you looked pretty earlier, too,” Luke spoke up, glancing at Y/N who was chewing gummy worms and time to time placing few in his mouth as well.
“That’s sudden,” the girl chuckled, trying to ignore a quick shutter of her heart. The girl fancied her friend for quite some time, but it was not as scary as dangerous to reveal her feelings. Y/N didn’t want to ruin their friendship. “Be honest, you just wanted me to get sick. I was freezing cold, by the way!”
“Well, if you didn’t hesitate for so long, you would be in the car a while ago, enjoying my company and food.”
“Thank you for mentioning food, I’d put it on the first place, though,” Y/N laughed shortly, looking at the window. Even though it was late, the lights were illuminating the road, and quite soon she started to see untouched fields, passing by. “Also, I wasn’t hesitant, I told you right away I wasn’t going.”
“Here you are with an urge to reply on everything,” Luke rolled his eyes jokingly and glanced at Y/N again. He liked how cozy and comfortable she looked at that moment. It was actually rather precious to know that a person he cared about so much trusted him, fully.
“You are the same,” the girl reminded and, giggling, put another gummy worm, a blue one, in his mouth. “Suits your eyes.”
The musician chuckled, barely being able to chew the marmalade.
“A worm?”
“Yeah,” Y/N laughed back and smiled vividly. “I like your eyes,” she mumbled and looked away, feeling too overwhelmed. If only he could be hers, and she could be his…
“So, we have a problem,” Luke announced, when about thirty minutes were left from the final destination. The guy was planning to show Y/N a sunflower field, but GPS suddenly stopped working properly. However, the guy was sure he remembered the way there so didn’t worry too much. Until…
Y/N turned her head towards a friend and frowned a little.
“Are you going to keep holding the dramatic pause or will just tell me?” she smiled, though, not even thinking there could be something serious.
“Yeah, well,” Luke hesitated and glanced at a dashboard of the car. He still couldn’t believe what he saw. “Apparently, I forgot to refuel and noticed only now…”
“You are joking,” Y/N raised up in a seat to check it herself. “How could you forget?”
“I don’t know!” Luke outraged, slowing down the speed of the car. “I was in a hurry cause I wanted to make a good surprise for you!”
“Well, it is a good surprise after all, Luke!” Y/N giggled, not being mad for some reason. “Let me find the closest gas station,” she mumbled and opened her phone to check a map. The girl didn’t hear how her friend mumbled quietly “go for it”, as he already knew that GPS stopped working twenty minutes ago.
“Okay, so… we’re in the middle of nowhere,” she announced dramatically, zooming in and out on the map. “It doesn’t work. How much gas is left? Maybe we should go back,” Y/N sighed, once Luke stopped the car on the side of the road. He was upset. “Hey, that’s alright,” the girl smiled and unfastened her seat belt to sit sideways to the windshield, facing the musician. The girl gently placed her palms on his cheeks and nodded. “I’m not mad, it’s still a fun trip. After all, it wouldn’t be us if it didn’t end up like this, don’t you think?” she chuckled kindly.
Luke hurried up to cover her palms with his, being scared she’d break the touch too soon.
“We still can stay here for some time? Before going back?” he suggested carefully.
Y/N nodded, feeling the pulsation of her heartbeat almost in a throat. If only she could kiss him, and he could kiss her…
“Y/N,” Luke spoke up, and the voice was hoarse.
“Yeah?”
“I… I guess there is something I needed to tell you,” he started, immediately regretting it, though. How was he supposed to tell her that? Was it a bad timing? It probably was. There was no where to go, and if… if Y/N didn’t feel the same way it’d be hell awkward. He really didn’t think it through…
“Again?”
“What?”
“You need to tell me something else? I thought we’re done with surprises,” she giggled, fooling around a bit, as Y/N could see how anxious Luke started to look all of a sudden.
“Oh, no, that’s the main surprise, I guess,” the guy chuckled and looked down only for a moment. The fear took him over, though, and he rested his palms on the knees, so Y/N pulled away from him. “No, actually, forget about it.”
“No.”
Luke looked up at the friend, being surprised.
“What do you mean “no"?…”
“That’s exactly what I mean. I waited for too long to allow you to step back once again,” Y/N shook her head, getting annoyed. Why was he so uncertain sometimes? She was sitting there, next to him, worrying that her heart would break the chest, and he couldn’t say few simple words?… “Would you finally acknowledge my feelings for you if I kiss you right now? You’re so bad at taking hints! How can you keep doubting if I feel the same way you do?”
“How do you– How do you know?…” Luke mumbled, staring at Y/N. The guy couldn’t hide his terror. So she knew? All that time?!
“Honestly, it seems like it’s only you who is blind here,” the girl smiled sadly and looked down, feeling ridiculous.
Another second, though, she felt Luke’s hand on the chin. He carefully lifted her face so the girl could look at him before he covered Y/N’s lips with his. The kiss was tender and gentle, slowly changing into a more passionate one. They both just couldn’t believe it took them that long to confess. And honestly, who knew how long it’d have still taken if Y/N had kept silence.
“I’ll make it up to you,” he whispered, touching her forehead with his.
“You already did,” the girl whispered back and, smiling, pressed the lips against his in another kiss.

Any recommendations on some good 5sos fics/one shots? I’ve been struggling to find new works that are good.
hi! 🖤
i gotta admit that i haven't been reading a lot of fics lately, but everything @writersdare writes is amazing! i especially love he called her a fairy (luke fic) :)
and i love works by @vailvr and @saucymalum too!! <3 for example i really enjoyed this ash fic by @saucymalum !! and i really liked this luke fic by @thewaywewereinsaigon too <3
if u can't find any fics on tumblr, i suggest you use wattpad or ao3 if you are not familiar with those platforms already. when i actively used wattpad i really enjoyed these luke fics: final round by whiskeyluke, the wedding plan by fangirlsince96, klutz by luvsweetheartluke and enemies flames by whiskeyluke.
i hope this helped ☀️

Writing updates:
Hi my lovelies🥰
After some thought I think once I write up the next Luke&Lily that will be my last post for that series and for 5sos.
Will it be forever? Not sure.
But I’ve really enjoyed writing my most recent story for TopGun, An Arrangement and the feedback/interaction has been incredible! It makes me so excited to write and share that story.
I’m not leaving the fandom by any means, I still will love and support 5sos and any content creator on here! So I’m not going anyway but venturing into different fanfic territory😊
Much love always🩷

Let Me Love You | Luke Hemmings
Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her)
Summary: Luke knew it wasn’t his fault Y/N didn't let him get any closer, but he just wished to know what he could do to make it better.
Warning: angsty, trusting issues, mentioning of a breakup, the reader may have low self-esteem
Word Count: 1 457
Requested: yes
Author’s Note: I know it's been a while, I had some troubles with writing for the past few months, but I'm finally back with a new story. It's a little messy, but I hope you'll enjoy it! ♡
Tumblr media
How much time does it usually take for the memories of a past relationship to stop being such a burden? Y/N was asking herself that pretty often, hoping to finally find the answer. Was it all because of her ex or, in fact, she was the reason? Was it a stupid trauma that she gained dating a wrong person, or something she was born with?
Y/N knew she had to be more open to people. They say, if you trust the Universe well enough, it will reward you. To the girl it seemed more the opposite, as if, when she was finally facing the world, it would gladly stab her in the back. Was she a pessimist? Maybe. But people made her to be so.
After a good chapter a bad one always followed. Like in Kacey Musgraves’ song, Y/N was getting anxious when she was suddenly having the time of her life. And when a new person she met seemed weirdly nice, she couldn’t help but wondering what was the trick.
Luke didn’t have anything up his sleeves, though. He was the kindest and the most patient person Y/N ever met, and sometimes she even questioned if she deserved to be treated that way. Differently, tenderly. Sincerely.
She tried her best to be less cautious and just trust Luke more; yet, the guy saw the eyes full of uncertainty every time he was suggesting her a ride home. Every time he smiled at her, Y/N was scared to smile back and to feel those familiar butterflies which caused no good in the past.
Butterflies were ugly, weren’t they? The wings were stunning and beautiful, however, looking closer at them, they were not much different from other scary bugs. Y/N was afraid to make the same mistake. Life was all about mistakes, but the girl couldn’t just let herself relax for once.
“Did you love him?”
The question was stupid. When Luke asked it out loud, he thought that he could have worked a bit harder on that one and could have come up with a better option to help Y/N to speak up. He knew it wasn’t his fault she didn’t let him get any closer, however, he wished to at least know what he could do to make it easier for her.
“Yes. I did.”
There was something about her that made Luke keep going. He wasn’t aggressive in his affection, no, but he wanted her to know that he cared. And Y/N was always honest with him, saying that even though she liked him, too, she could not open up and trust him right away. It was okay. Sure, Luke could take it personally, and  no doubts, he did at first, but Y/N didn’t even dare to blame him for that. However, with time, little by little, they started to understand each other a bit more.
“Did he love you back?…” Luke asked carefully, looking at her eyes. Unhappy ones, as Y/N was clearly not enjoying the fact that he suddenly decided to stir up the memories she was trying so hard to place on a shelf of traumas. But some things needed to be shaken so that they would disappear into thin air completely. That’s what the guy was trying to do at least.
“Sometimes,” Y/N shrugged. Her voice didn’t express a regret or even сoncern at that point. It was a simple fact that she, unfortunately, realised too late. It’d be a lie to say there were no feelings left for that person who broke her heart so cruelly, yet, it wasn’t even close to anything romantic. It was just pain, an aching pain that would stop her from moving forward. It was too vicious to tear her heart apart into small pieces and still – to keep making her suffer. As if he didn’t want her to let him go, even though she desperately needed to.
Luke was different. It sounded silly and naive in her own head, but she tried to believe the inner voice. The voice that was so quiet for a very long time. Funny, how actually correct the phrase “love is blind” was. Y/N used to think she would know for sure if a person wasn’t good to her, if they were rude or arrogant. And yet, she let her drawn in a relationship that didn’t make her happy, not even a bit. She’d force herself to think she was enjoying the seesaw he was constantly putting her through, but in reality it was giving her nothing but anxiety.
The time passed, though, and she needed to carry on. Especially when next to Y/N was him, Luke. She hated herself for being so careful, but the girl was so scared to repeat her mistakes that sometimes it felt easier to stop trying and simply lose him completely just in order to skip another potential page of pain. Luke was stubborn, though. He was patient and stubborn, which were one of the most dangerous characteristics of any person. And yet, he never forced her to anything, and he certainly respected her decision. Luke also respected the time they were spending together, and that was, perhaps, one of the dramatic changes for Y/N.
“It’s okay, we can meet some other day,” Y/N hurried up to comfort the guy, when he shared that a music video shooting was taking way longer than expected. Even if Luke was extremely busy, he still would find time to leave her a small sweet message or give the girl a short call.
“No-no, it’s alright, I’m still fine to meet. I mean, it’ll be later, but if you’re cool with it…”
It got quiet at the end of the phone. Y/N needed to get used to the fact that Luke was always able to find time for them, no matter what. It felt a little alien at first, as in the past it seemed almost natural and normal to her that the partner was too tired and busy to go out.
"Do you want me to come to your area instead?" the girl awkwardly asked, still feeling stupidly guilty for the fact that Luke had to drive all the way from the place he had his shooting to her area, which wasn’t in a close distance at all.
“It’s alright,” Luke quietly giggled, feeling especially soft when Y/N would once again doubting if she could allow someone to simply take care of her. Sometimes, though, he wished she had never met the man who made her doubt every action of his. “It’ll be already late, and I don’t want you to drive there alone, okay? I’ll drive to your area, we’ll have late dinner, and then I’ll just drive back home. How do you feel about it?”
Luke didn’t dare to ask or hint to stay at her place even for once. It was out of discussion — they just started seeing each other, getting to know each other. The guy understood that it’d take time for Y/N to be fully comfortable with him, and he was ready to wait as much as it was needed. What a relief it was for Y/N to find out  that not all guys shamelessly cared where she lived or if she lived alone.
The late evening met them with a cold wind and little rain. Y/N was sitting across a table and wondering why, despite such freezing weather, she felt so warm, just by looking at Luke. Why his baby blue eyes always reminded her of the morning summer sky, and why his gaze was so tender and sweet… "What is it?" the musician smiled lightly, seeing her staring at him for a little longer than usual. "Is there a sauce on my lips?"
"No," Y/N giggled under her nose and shook the head negatively. "I was just thinking how lucky I am to meet you."
A bigger smile appeared on Luke’s face. The heart jumped on the chest, and his palms became suddenly little sweaty as if he was twelve years old, who fell in love for the very first time. Maybe it was not the case, but Luke had never heard such words in his life until that exact moment. He didn’t even know how much he actually needed to hear it from her.
"You have no idea how happy I am, when I’m with you," he simply responded and carefully took Y/N’s hand in his. She relaxed her palm and thought that maybe she knew, because his sincere eyes was simply saying it all. "Just… let me love you, okay? It’s all what ask."

He Called Her a Fairy | Luke Hemmings
Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her)
Summary: No matter how excited Luke was to go on tour, it was always too heartbreaking to say goodbye to Y/N. However, that parting was worth going through to meet again.
Warning: hurt/comfort, angsty
Word Count: 1 004
Requested: yes
Author’s Note: It's been a while! Thank you for continuing to read my stories, it truly motivates me to keep writing. I hope you'll enjoy this a bit moody but in a way cosy story with our golden boy ♡
Tumblr media
Six months away from the loved ones was not a joke. Luke was always certain he’d get used to it eventually. Sure, it wasn’t easy, but over time he adapted to the new changes, even the most difficult ones. At teenage age Luke thought he’d never be able to ignore hate comments, but there he was. Of course, it still annoyed him, not as much as when he was starting a career of a musician, though. Yet, every time it was tough, almost unbearable, to leave home. No matter how excited Luke was to go on tour, it was just too heartbreaking to say goodbye to her. He hated it, truly.
The very first time, when they had to experience it, was, probably, the hardest. The musician refused to say goodbye and mumbled a short "I’ll text you at the airport". Luke was scared to think even for a slight second that it’d be their last time seeing each other. Maybe for someone it’d sound overdramatic, but the problem was that it did happen in the past. Just few months were enough for a partner to message him "we aren’t working any longer" and "it’s better to break up". Squeezing Y/N in the arms and trying to memorise her perfume, Luke barely kept a phrase "please, wait for me" to himself.
"It will pass quickly," she promised, being cheerful as much as she could, although once Luke left that door, Y/N burst into tears. The girl trusted her boyfriend, and the tears were not a reflection of doubts about him or their relationship, no. It was only an expression of bitter sadness because of the simple fact that they wouldn’t be able to see each other for quite some time.
LA looked a little bit alien. The flight was long and tedious. Usually Luke couldn’t sleep normally on planes, but the last few concerts were so exhausting that the whole fight back home he spent dozing off constantly. Even when his bandmates woke him up, saying they finally landed, the golden boy needed a minute or two to figure out where he was and what actually happened. And then it came as a wave – six months had passed. He was finally home.
It was the middle of the night, and Luke begged Y/N not to bother with driving to the airport. Even thought it could be romantic, in reality it was more of a torture for a public person. His girl was waiting at home. She did have a second thought to make a surprise at the airport, however, Luke was right, and there was no need to take a risk. The musician was too tired to deal with paparazzi as well.
Luke didn’t exactly remember how he ended up next to the entrance, waiting for Y/N to open the door. He was sleepy the whole way there, however, realising he was going to see her after six month being apart, it awakened goosebumps all over his body. The butterflies raised in the stomach once again. Suddenly, he felt cold, terrified by a pessimistic thought of her not being there. Or her, preparing a speech how she was not ready for that type of relationship, for that kind of difficulties. But ones Y/N opened the door, she jumped on Luke, cuddling softly, and the guy, lifting her from the floor, lost it, sobbing like a child and smelling her perfume, always the same, always so special.
"Baby…" Y/N had promised herself she wouldn’t cry when she’d see him, but as the girl heard a quiet sob, she couldn’t hold hers, too.
"Please, don’t go," the musician mumbled, letting out a phrase he had been holding since the day he left for the tour. Luke kept those words to himself, being scared they’d be prophetic, but at that moment the guy knew he had nothing to worry about. She was there. She was with him…
"What are you talking about? I won’t go anywhere," Y/N rested a palm on his cheek, smiling and glancing at Luke’s blue eyes. "You look so tired… You’ll eat and then have a rest, okay? You need to sleep a lot now, in few days it’ll get bett–"
"Hush, just kiss me," Luke chuckled, not being able to believe that the girl decided to give him recommendations how to survive jet lag. Him, travelling the world since he was a teenager! But that’s why he loved Y/N so much. She was caring from the very beginning, it was so unfamiliar and almost strange to him at first. The girl was never "too much"; Y/N always knew when Luke needed her and when he needed time alone. The musician called her a fairy, meaning Y/N certainly had magical powers, knowing him that well. "A witch" was too offensive by his taste, it didn’t suit the girl. She was a fragile soul that for some reason found a safe place in him. Luke couldn’t find the right words to express how actually thankful he was to her for choosing him. Him, with all the problems and flaws. Y/N would only laugh when he’d say that she was perfect. The girl would repeat that no one was, but that what was special about both of them.
"When you love someone, even flaws become favourites. I can get annoyed when you chew loudly, but when you were gone… Every time I had breakfast alone, it was too quiet," Y/N admitted, patting his golden hair.
Luke couldn’t get enough of her, so after late dinner, they lied together on a couch, and he cuddled Y/N tight, resting a head on her shoulder. The guy already warned that he wasn’t planning to let her go any time soon, but it’s not like Y/N was complaining. She didn’t mind a little battle who of them was more affectionate. And the silly competition has just begun.

Sweeter Than Honey | Luke Hemmings
Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her)
Summary: Spending a simple evening with Y/N, Luke realised she was always his happy place.
Warning: fluff
Word Count: 1 095
Requested: yes
Author’s Note: Just a very sweet episode for you! I feel like it's usually rather hard for me to write something light, so I wanted to challenge myself a little. I hope you'll enjoy this one!
Tumblr media
It’s been quite an exhausting day for Y/N, but what had made her keep going was a simple thought that once she’d be home, Luke would be there. Usually, she’d be back to an empty apartment, but as her boyfriend was finally having a rest from touring, they switched the places a little. However, even though the guy supposed to have his fairly deserved days off, Y/N, returning, found him in a home studio, staring at the computer.
The girl smiled shortly and silently entered the room. She touched Luke’s shoulders and leaned on him a bit, giving a kiss on a cheek. The guy looked rather tired with his messy golden hair and slightly red eyes. Seemed like he was there for a while.
“Hey.”
“Hey,” the guy touched Y/N’s palm with his, still looking at the screen. “How was the day?”
“Could be better,” she said honestly and kissed his cheek again, then glanced at the table. Besides millions of papers and pens, there were two cups of unfinished coffee and an empty box of cheese crackers.
“Baby, did you eat today?” Y/N asked and frowned a bit, realizing that it was on his table since the very morning, when she left for work. Did he really stay there for the whole day?
“Uh…” he mumbled, trying to remember. The guy sighed and turned around in a swivel chair and put Y/N on his knees. “I guess I kinda forgot.”
“You serious? Luke,” the girl sighed and touched his curls, leaving a short kiss on his lips.
“The day honestly passed really fast. I’ll have dinner with you.”
“Am I really supposed to call you during a day and ask if you had breakfast or lunch?” she giggled.
Luke chuckled shortly and squeezed her waist.
“I promise I’ll be more serious about it next time.”
“That’s better,” she smiled and kissed her favorite boy on his lips. “You, finish your stuff quickly, and I’m going to make something for us,” Y/N suggested and was about to stand up, when Luke only squeezed her in the cuddle tighter.
“Let’s order something. You’re tired, too,” the guy nuzzled her neck, so she felt like goosebumps started to run all over her body.
“Okay,” she smiled and went to the kitchen in five more minutes, as leaving his embrace was pretty much impossible.
And just after some time they were resting on a couch, chewing their favourite dishes. Only at that moment the guy realised how hungry he actually was. Y/N was glancing at him and trying to hold a soft smile – Luke looked too adorable like that. Seemed like the musician shared her thought as at some moment he froze and stared at her.
“You’re so beautiful.”
“When I’m eating?” the girl mumbled, chewing.
Luke chuckled and nodded,
“That’s too.”
He hesitated then and looked away. Something warm was burning his chest, and the palms became slightly wet all of a sudden. Luke was wondering if the idea that came to his mind that unexpectedly was a good hint and he needed to go for it, or actually to hold on a bit and go according to a plan he came up with earlier.
“You’re alright?” Y/N asked, noticing a slight change in her boyfriend’s mood.
“Yeah…” he mumbled and stood up, leaving the plate on a coffee table. “Wait here. Don’t go anywhere.”
“I’m glued to this couch tonight,” she giggled, still feeling quite tired after a long day of work.
Luke smiled and hurried up upstairs, feeling like his hands were shaking slightly. He was performing in front of millions of fans; he was talking to them, mostly strangers, on a daily basis and yet, he was scared to propose to a girlfriend he loved.
Maybe the time was weird. No, it definitely was weird, as they were having dinner together, and he just jumped from his place all of a sudden and ran upstairs. She’d probably think he’s weird. That thought, however, made him only smile, as they both enjoyed to be weird together.
Luke shoved his hand into a pile of clothes on a shelf and pulled out a velvet Tiffany box. He opened it carefully and looked at the ring he got for Y/N just a week ago. The guy was planning to propose next month in Australia, as they were going to have a trip there. However, as he bought the ring, he couldn’t stop thinking to already give it to her. He couldn’t wait any longer, he was becoming inpatient. So, nodding at himself in the mirror, Luke ran back downstairs and cleared the throat, trying his best to look normal. He stood up in front of the girl and gave her a hand. Y/N giggled and touched his palm, standing up.
“Do you want to dance?” she asked, and Luke could not stop looking at her beautiful smile.
“Almost,” he said and, without taking the eyes off her, went down on one knee. The girl felt like her heart honestly stopped beating for a moment. “Y/N,” Luke mumbled and cleared the throat again, as the voice was hoarse. He was clearly nervous. “I know that… the moment is slightly weird, but… being with you tonight made me realise… You… you are magical,” he chuckled and blushed, trying to gather his courage. “I don’t know how you do it, but each time you’re around I feel always better. Looking at you I know what love is. If someone would ask me to define what it is, I’d just say it’s you. I feel so lucky to meet you, to be with you. And I guess this simple time together, having dinner and enjoying the presence of each other made me realise that… that’s the perfect moment. And I want more of such, with you. Y/N…” he swallowed, hoping it wasn’t that noticeable how anxious he was. “Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?...”
Y/N wasn’t almost breathing. She was listening to Luke, smiling and quietly crying from happiness. The girl nodded, when the guy uttered the beloved question, and, realising she was still silent, hurried up to say,
“Yes. Of course, yes, Luke, you make me so happy.”
Y/N sobbed, as Luke carefully put a ring on her finger, and she touched his hands, not being able to wait any longer to hug the guy. He caught her on his arms, though, and touched the girl’s lips. The kiss was slightly salty because of all happy tears, and yet it felt sweeter than honey.

There was some magic in traveling by bus, even though it could be rather tiring, too. Y/N never really joined the band on tour before, as she had a job in LA, and the girl just couldn’t put her work aside and have carefree time with the guys. Yet, the things have changed after the marriage, both Luke and Y/N realized they didn’t want to be away from each other for that long again, the distance was killing, and they needed to find a compromise. Lu, obviously, couldn’t just stay in the US and perform from home (2020 would still give everyone chills), but Y/N finally got an opportunity to work remote, and it gave her a chance to change the open plan office to something she preferred more. She’d still have zoom calls time to time and her working schedule could be a mess, but it was much better, as she could be next to her husband. Luke was really happy, and during the tour he’d always make sure how his girl was and if she had enough rest before taking on another project she was given.
The first week of touring was chaotic, it was almost always loud in the bus, so Y/N definitely had to get used to her new style of life. It got easier as the weeks went by. She’d work in the mornings and during the guys’ rehearsals, sometimes she’d have to work during their performances, too, but most of the time by the end of the days she was free and could enjoy the concerts. Funny, but even though the shows would get repetitive, Y/N would enjoy each time, as if it was always new experience. It was to some extent, each show was still different, a lot depended on a crowd and the energy it was giving.
Usually, the guys couldn’t sleep for hours after performing live, the adrenalin would still rush in their veins, but with time tiredness would take over, and everyone would fall asleep as soon as they went to bunk beds. It was trickier if the band was in a completely different time zone and experienced jet lag, but luckily, they’ve already passed that stage.
For some reason, though, it didn’t stop Luke from having troubles sleeping past few days. He’d fall asleep right after his head would touch a pillow, yet, three days in a row he was waking up in the middle of the night from nightmares. They were bizarre and didn’t make any sense, but in the morning the guy would feel tired and sleepy. Sometimes he’d dream about something more real, like losing his voice or getting lost in the woods, and an unpleasant feeling wouldn’t leave him during the whole day until he’d play a show.
Around 2 a.m. Y/N woke up, hearing Luke suffering from a bad dream once again. He was shaking his head harshly from side to side, mumbling and whining something. It was scaring Y/N, as if she could feel the fear Luke was experiencing at that moment. Focusing on the guy’s face and adjusting to the darkness, the girl hurried up to leave her bunk and kneel beside him. The bunks were too small to fit them both, which was a shame, they missed sleeping in the same bed, but at least their bottom bunks were next to each other.
“Hey, baby, wake up,” Y/N whispered, gently shaking the guy’s shoulder, trying to save him from the nightmare. “Luke, it’s just a dream, it’s alright, wake up, baby.”
As he opened the eyes, the musician started to breath harshly, as if there was not enough air in the lungs all of a sudden.
“Shh, that’s okay. That’s okay, it’s me. It was just a dream.”
Luke had to make an effort to get his normal breath back and realize it was just a dream, indeed. Focusing the eyes on a ceiling, the guy reached Y/N’s hand on his shoulder and sighed heavily. He squeezed her palm, remembering the horrors he saw just a minute ago, and left a short kiss on her fingers.
“Another one?” she simply asked and carefully lied next to Luke, as much as it was possible.
He only nodded at the question and rested a head on her shoulder.
“I feel like I’m going crazy,” Luke whispered, thinking that before going to bed he was getting scared already in advance.
“You are not,” Y/N whispered back. “You just exhausted yourself with work and brain seeks for a rest.”
“In nightmares?” he chuckled, not being convinced. “None of the guys are having it, just me. I mean, thanks god,” Luke shook his head. “But it’s not just me who is working hard.”
“Stop comparing yourself to others, huh?” Y/N gently hugged her husband and left a short kiss on a forehead. “It’ll be alright. Just a week left, and you’ll be back home,” the girl stroked his hair and started to leave short kisses on his face. It was calming him down little by little.
“Stay here, okay?” Luke asked.
“Of course,” Y/N smiled and pulled him closer to herself.
When Y/N had a bad dream, Luke used to hold her tight and sing a little lullaby about a knight who was guarding her while she was asleep. That night, though, Y/N was Luke’s knight.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, realizing she was awake because of him.
“Don’t be silly, it’s alright,” she hurried up to reassure, enjoying that little intimacy between them. It was very simple and pure, and the girl liked that. Even though she’d, of course, prefer the situation to be different. Y/N hopped the nightmares would stop bothering him soon, though, he wasn’t alright...
“Try to get some sleep, okay? I’ll be here, next to you, and won’t fall asleep before you,” Y/N promised, stroking his hair once again.
Luke could feel slightly awkward and maybe even embarrassed to show his fear and weakness, but his girl always knew how to fix that. How exactly to tell or show it was normal to experience such emotions.
“Thank you, Y/N,” he whispered back and buried the face in her neck, sensing a peach shower gel and a bit of perfume he got her last month.
The girl left a short kiss on the top of his head and closed the eyes, hoping her boy would finally have a proper sleep and rest. She’d be very quiet, listening to his even breathing, and as the girl realized he was sleeping calmly, Y/N fell asleep, too, holding Luke in her arms tight.

Baby Girl | Luke Hemmings

Warning: hurt/comfort, disordered eating
Word Count: 1 118

Author’s Note: I tried my best to be very careful with the topic of the story, please, make sure it doesn't trigger you before reading ♡ If you're going through depression, anxiety or anything that makes you feel sad, hurt and not like yourself, please, remember, it's temporary. I know it's never easy, but you're a fighter. Do not be scared or ashamed, shy to ask for help. You deserve to be alright. Read it again and really feel it. You deserve to be alright, happy and healthy.
Tumblr media
It’s been one of those days. The trick was always the same – she had no idea how to handle it. People would think it’s a mindset: go to bed being happy, wake up happy. It didn’t work like that. One day Y/N would wake up and feel alright, maybe would even go through the day without tears on her face, and another morning she’d just open the eyes and would know – it’d be a bad one. Advice she got from a doctor was rather simple – not to evaluate how her sleep was or how her mood in the morning was, not to come up with a label to each meal she saw on her plate, to each lying thought she’d have. It sounded easy, but was almost impossible. Y/N would dream to wake up and feel alright. And when she did, she’d spend the whole day being scared she’d lose that feeling. And of course, she would, eventually.
Not like Luke wasn’t helping, on the contrary, once she opened up about the issue, he was nothing but understanding, finding the best doctors the same night. Y/N was thankful to him, even though sometimes would wonder if she deserved such care. If he deserved to go through that with her. She wanted him to be happy, not constantly being worried for her.
Y/N sighed heavily, getting tired of her dark thoughts and stared at the screen of her laptop, reading over and over again an email she supposed to send an hour ago. She couldn’t focus on work, and it irritated her only more.
The door clicked, and the girl saw Luke, entering the house. A short smile illuminated her face, as she got up from a couch to meet him.
“Hey, baby,” Luke wrapped Y/N in the arms right away and nuzzled her neck, closing the eyes. Even when he was dead tired, coming back from work, her smell, Y/N herself, always made him feel better. And well, when the girl saw him around, she felt better, too. Maybe that’s what love simply was.
“Hi. Tired?” Y/N smiled and gave her boyfriend a short kiss on his lips.
“Yeah. It was a crazy day, honestly. But we finally finished recording the song,” he took off the jacket and shoes, then looked around. “Was working?”
“Yeah, I’m almost done. Going to get a sweater and will be back, alright?”
“Okay,” he nodded and took her palms in his for a moment to give to each her fragile cold finger a little kiss.
Y/N took the laptop and went upstairs, while Luke entered the kitchen. He had learnt a lot for the past months about the girl’s disorder and tried his best to make her feel alright. Maybe it was tedious sometimes, but honestly, he didn’t think of it in that way, never. He only wanted her to feel okay, healthy, happy again. He knew it wasn’t his fault, he just wondered if he could do something more, anything. A therapy was helping both of them, though. He wanted to know he was doing his best for Y/N’s recovery.
Luke washed his hands and paid attention to a kitchen counter, where the girl’s plate was. They bought it together just recently, blue with sun on it. It was for children, but who honestly cared, if she felt safer using that dish. The guy sighed and opened the fridge, realising her meal wasn’t touched, the plate and spoon were just on the same place where they were when he left the house. It’s been ten hours… He was worried.
The musician silently went upstairs and found Y/N in their bedroom; she was searching for the best hoodie of his. He smiled and leaned on a wall, looking at the girl. She was so pretty. He wished she could see it, he wished Y/N could see herself with his eyes at least for once. The things would be different. Better.
“Baby, did you eat today?” he asked carefully, always gently and never aggressive.
Y/N bit her bottom lip and put on a green hoodie; Luke came closer to help adjusting the long sleeves. He liked to take care of her.
“I had breakfast with you,” she reminded quietly.
They did, Luke stayed for a while after that and was simply cuddling the girl, watching a movie together to get her distracted from the thoughts about food. It wasn’t always helping, but it did that morning. She was making progress.
“I know,” he sighed and hugged Y/N from behind, leaving short kisses on the back of her neck and cheeks, lightly swaying her in his arms, as if it was some kind of dance. “You’ll need to have some more,” he warned with the same soothing voice.
“Luke, don’t push me…”
“Never, baby. Okay? Never,” he promised and just kept giving her little kisses. “But I need you here with me, so I need you to do this for me, okay? For yourself. I’ll be here, always. You are so brave, baby girl,” he whispered and nuzzled her neck.
Y/N sobbed and looked down. She was scared. Of course, she was, she couldn’t trust her own body, her own mind anymore.
“That’s okay. That’s okay,” he whispered, holding her tight. “I’m here, always will be. And when it’s scary, I’m going to guide you, you know that?”
“Yeah,” she nodded and turned around to hug him back.
“My baby girl,” Luke repeated and pressed his lips to her forehead for a moment. The doctor said to allow her to cry when she felt like it. They needed to avoid her repressing the emotions, so Luke was quiet, simply being next to her while she was letting go of fears.
“I love you,” Y/N said quietly, calming a bit down, and looked up at him. Luke tucked a strand of her hair behind the ear, and his lips stretched in a warm smile.
“And I love you, Y/N. So-so much,” he said and suddenly scooped her on his arms.
“What are you doing?” the girl chuckled, wiping the tears.
“We are going on a date,” Luke giggled, leaving the bedroom with her.
“What?”
“A date. With a bubble bath and some music.”
“Aren’t you tired of music?” she giggled back, stroking Luke’s golden curls.
“Joking? Never!” he smiled, feeling some warmth inside as she was finally smiling and even laughing.
“Okay,” Y/N sighed with the same short smile and put a head on Luke’s shoulder, knowing that the date meant some snacks, too. But she needed to move forward, he was right.
“Okay,” he repeated after her and left a soft kiss on her cheek. “I’m so proud of you, Y/N. Always remember that.”

Why Won't You Love Me | Luke Hemmings
Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her)
Summary: Luke and Y/N broke up after a few months of dating so they could at least remain friends, but seemed like it didn't ease the pain.
Warning: angst, fluff, a bit of cursing and mentioning of alcohol
Word Count: 3 081
Requested: yes
Author’s Note: It's partly a song!fic, too, I guess. Hopefully you'll like it! I enjoyed writing their memories so much. Please, don’t forget to like/repost/comment, it helps a lot!
Tumblr media
So many senseless quotes were out there. “They didn’t mean to be.” “They just met at the wrong time.” What did they try to express by that? Y/N was getting furious each time she’d bump into another photo with a pretty text on it. It’d hurt, actually hurt. From the throat, down the stomach, it would squeeze the guts inside and move lower, until she’d lose any desire to leave her bed and go to a short walk, at least. Those quotes were nothing but small ugly stones in a shiny candy wrapper.
It wasn’t even supposed to be that painful. They ended the things up just after three months of dating, so there wouldn’t be a damage to their souls even more if they’d give each other another month. Why didn’t it go according to that perfect plan, though? Why would she be upset when he couldn’t be in touch during a tour, why did she prefer to be apart, but once they were, it didn’t feel any better?
Why was he still dreaming about her at nights? Why would he wake up in the middle of sleep, calling her name? Why suddenly it was the only name he knew at all? The bed was colder, the pillow was more of a sharp rock, and the food lost its flavors.
The life didn’t even let them catch a breath. It seemed like it couldn’t get any worse at that point, truly. Luke was back to LA after touring, and they meant to remain friends, yet, they hadn’t seen each other ever since. It was just hard, almost unbearable. They thought they’d break up to save their friendship, and yet they lost everything. Each other.
Y/N would still be in touch with other guys, only sometimes though. It wasn’t like it used to be, surely. Everyone knew it couldn’t be, even if they didn’t talk about it openly. Yet, Ash decided to send Y/N a short message, asking to meet as he was finally home. Honestly, it was the only nice day for the past few months.
“What the fuck is she doing here?” Luke turned all the way to the window and stared at Ashton and Y/N, who were approaching the car. They were talking and smiling, Ash was carrying her suitcase.
“Y/N had rough few weeks, so Ashton suggested her going to the villa with us,” Calum explained casually, looking at the friend.
Lu hastened to turn towards Cal, who was sitting just behind him.
“You kidding? It supposed to be our weekend!”
“And it will be, Luke,” Michael hurried up to reassure, resting hands on a steering wheel. “C’mon, we are still her friends, she’s quitting her job and yet can’t find anything good for her, you have to be a bit understanding.”
“Understanding?!” he outraged. “Could you at least warn me in advance, guys?!”
“We knew you wouldn’t mind anyway. Even if you’re now behaving like you do,” Cal answered and turned a head away, as the door opened, and Y/N got inside.
“Hi, guys,” she smiled shortly.
“Hey, how are you?” Mike gave her a hug as much as he could, being in the driver’s seat.
Calum smiled and cuddled the girl, too.
“Hi, Y/N, so glad to see you.”
“It’s mutual, Cal,” she nodded and then leaned towards Luke. It’d be weird to ignore him.
“Hey,” he only said and patted Y/N on a shoulder, almost holding his breath so he wouldn’t sense the perfume the guy used to love so much.
She hadn’t exactly changed. Maybe a little. Yes, Luke saw dark circles under her pretty eyes, her face was tired and lost its healthy color, but she was still beautiful. Y/N smiled, and the musician only sighed, looking away, because it was simply impossible to look at her. To remember that they didn’t work out because of their own stupidity, naivety, recklessness and ego, assuming they could be just fine without each other.
Ashton placed the girl’s suitcase in a trunk and got inside as well, so Michael started the car.
The road was long. It took almost two hours, for Luke it felt all four. He almost didn’t speak. The guy was staring at the window, observing the nature passing by, while others didn’t stop talking. At some moment he just closed the eyes and pretended to fall asleep. Maybe it was childish, but it helped to feel the pain less.
“Luke?” she stopped next to him, as they all came inside, and Ash gave everyone a tour to their new home for the coming week.
The villa was a pretty one, spacious, with a pool, fireplace, tennis court, few bedrooms downstairs and upstairs. But honestly the head was so much not there.
The guy turned to Y/N and only mumbled something, waiting for her to continue. She sighed and hid hands in pockets of a hoodie.
“I know it… it can be uncomfortable for us, and… I’m sorry if it’s the case for you. I… just missed… my friends,” the girl was trying to find the right words carefully. “And I really needed some change in my routine,” she sighed.
“No, we are all glad to see you,” Luke said, and he knew it was the truth even if he was hiding it from himself. “Mike told me you have some problems with the job, though. Are you alright? Do you want to talk about it?”
Her lips stretched into a smile immediately, and she shrugged.
“No, I’m good. Thanks, though.”
“Don’t do this,” he said, looking at the girl’s eyes.
“Do what?”
“Smile. I know you’re hurt.”
It was painful to watch. Him, pretending he was ready to come back as a comforting “just friend”, and her, behaving like she was strong enough to move forward without him. The world was falling apart, they knew it. Didn’t figure out how to fix it, yet.
Ashton was right, though, the change of a place was helping Y/N a lot. Maybe the presence of Luke was, too. It felt nice to let the head have a rest and not to think of problems which were waiting for her in LA. It was nice to forget the day of a week and lose track of time. And it was rather healing to notice Luke’s eyes on hers, to feel a slight touch of the fingers on her skin while he was passing by or taking the same candy from a vase. He felt almost alive again. And she finally remembered how it was, in heaven.
Luke was an angel. She’d tell him that millions of times when they were together. During breakfast or before going to bed. While he’d be touching her like only he could, or when he’d sing for her. He was an angel. The guy would laugh at that. Would get certainly shy, and maybe she’d, if would be extremely lucky, see a slight blush on his cheeks.
“I think you were a Cupid back in centuries,” she said, lying with him in bed.
“A what?” Luke chuckled and left a soft kiss on her nose. “What kind of silly thoughts are in your head, Y/N?”
“No, I’m honest,” the girl smiled and hugged a pillow, looking at him. “Your eyes are reflection of the sky, Luke. Your golden hair is just like Cupid’s. You have magical voice, and you have a soul of an angel,” she rested a palm on his chest. “Do you think you can fly?”
He smiled and leaned to kiss her sweet lips.
“I feel like flying all the time when I’m with you,” Luke whispered.
He had to leave. They both knew it, there wasn’t even anything dramatic about that. The tour had lasted for months, when he’d go back home for few days it was just harder to say a goodbye. The last time they had said it, as a couple, they had probably already known it’d be their last kiss. Luke knew they weren’t alright, but he couldn’t stay and talk it through. She didn’t want him to, either. Y/N knew what she signed for when they started to date, the girl wasn’t delusional. They just both thought the distance wouldn’t hurt them.
They hated the phone calls. It was easier with texts, but when he’d see her face on a screen, Luke would have to hold back the tears. She’d smile, just like she did when they arrived to the villa and he asked how she was, and then would cry all night, missing him, them. Desperately, unbearable.
“I just feel lonely, Luke. I feel lonelier with you than I was by myself,” Y/N said the other night, and it just broke him, simply, without any other bright adjectives, without complexion.
“I don’t want to let you go.”
“I don’t want that to. But maybe that’s why we need to stop this torment.”
“Is that how it is for you to be with me?”
“No, you don’t get it. It’s how it is being without you.”
She still remembered his eyes that night. Maybe it was for the better they spoke on the phone and not in person. Maybe it was for the better that he was hundreds of miles away from her. His eyes were cloudy, grey, bursting into rain any second. Y/N was already crying. She hadn’t stopped for the past few days after that call.
The pain was going away, though, slowly. Who knew the pill from the agony could be the same as for happiness. She thought it’d be awkward; and truly was trying to reassure Ashton and explain how weird it’d be to go on a trip with them after all what had happened between her and Luke. But Ash knew it was exactly what the guys needed. A second chance…
“Do you like it here?” Luke turned his head towards Y/N as she entered the kitchen to get a snack, and smiled. The guy himself was sitting on a couch with a guitar in his hands. He was working on a new song, the idea came to his mind a few days ago, when they first arrived to the villa.
The girl looked at the musician and smiled back, taking a slice of rye bread and a plate.
“I do,” she said honestly.
“On a scale of liquorice to pizza how much do you like it here?” Luke chuckled and left the guitar on a couch, then walked towards Y/N.
“Pizza level,” the girl laughed shortly and showed avocado in a hand. “Do you want some?”
“Yeah, I’ll help you,” he nodded and got another slice of bread. “I’m happy you’re having a rest here, with us.”
“Really?” Y/N sounded almost surprised, washing the fruit.
“Of course,” Luke hurried up to glance at her, as the girl knew his sky eyes didn’t lie. “Why are you amazed?”
“No, it’s just…” she shrugged. “I was worried it’d be odd, but the truth is…”
“I’m really glad to see you,” the guy interrupted her, as he really wanted to say it first.
Y/N smiled and nodded, glancing at Luke.
“I’m really glad to see you, too…”
Luke sighed and put a bread slice on a plate.
“Look, I… I’m sorry it happened like that. I… I should have been stronger; I knew it wouldn’t be easy…”
“Luke, you shouldn’t have,” Y/N shook her head. She didn’t want him to blame himself, it wasn’t fair.
“Yeah, but now I feel like I gave up too easily,” he said honestly, looking at the girl, while she was making them sandwiches.
“We both gave up,” she corrected him and, seeing Lu wanted to say something else, hurried up to change the topic.
“Where are the others, by the way?”
“They went to get some grocery,” he mumbled, not being convinced with the news himself. Friends probably thought they were idiots.
“Oh,” Y/N nodded. “Ash didn’t really warn me, weird.”
For some reason that phrase made him chuckle in annoyance and even though “don’t say it” was ringing in his head, he spilled it out nevertheless.
“You and Ashton are pretty close, huh?”
The girl raised her eyebrows in a surprise and looked up at the guy.
“I mean… Just like with all of you?” Y/N asked, although it wasn’t exactly the truth — with Luke it was different.
The musician immediately got embarrassed that he snapped at her.
“I’m sorry. I’m not allowed to be jealous, you aren’t even mine,” 'anymore', he wanted to add but bit his lips before adding anything more stupid.
The girl swallowed and looked down.
“Ash and I are just friends. Always were and always will be,” she said quietly, wondering if Luke knew the reason. Because she still loved him, of course, she did. Her angelic boy…
“I wrote a song,” he mumbled. “I mean, I’m still writing it,” the guy ran the hand through his hair, getting nervous. “Wanna check it out? The melody isn’t here yet, there are just lyrics for now.”
“Sure, I’d love that,” Y/N nodded, and they took a seat on a couch with their snacks. Usually, Luke didn’t like people checking his unfinished songs or lyrics, but, driving by emotions, the guy really wanted her to read the lines he came up with.
Y/N took the notebook and read hastily written text. It was clear Luke was in a hurry to put it on paper until he forgot.
Switching into airplane mode again We're not alright but I'll pretend Press my cheek against the glass Just be good 'til I get back
The ground disappears I hold back the tears I check my phone to see your face Staring back as if to say Don't worry, you won't be lonely
“Luke, it’s so beautiful…” Y/N smiled and looked up at Luke. “Almost like a story. And I desperately want to find out what will be next for them,” she handed the notebook back to him.
“Really?” the corners of the guy’s lips twitched in a short smile. Luke wasn’t sure if Y/N actually got that the unfinished song was about them. Was she pretending so he wouldn’t rise that topic again? She didn’t miss him? “Thanks. I guess,” the guy mumbled and put the notebook on a coffee table, feeling another burn in a heart.
Y/N wasn’t lying and surely didn’t want to hurt Luke. She just thought it’d be too narcissistic to think the song was about them, after all their relationship didn’t last long. Before that they were just friends. The song could be about anyone. Could be about some fiction characters, too…
Why won't you love me? Why won't you love me? You imagine when you close your eyes You're with me on the other side So why won't you love me?
Whiskey became his friend for a while. Stupid, useless, Luke knew. Yet the only time when he was not thinking about Y/N was mostly when he was drunk. Although even at that time memories would rush to his head, while he’d be sitting at a bar where they used to go together.
He wished he could call her and hear “I love you, too”, but he didn’t dare to hit a green button on his phone. They broke up, they were just friends. They supposed to remain friends, became strangers instead. But then found each other again, thanks to his band mates.
Why won't you love me? Why won't you love me? We're together, all alone tonight So helpless from the other side So why won't you love me?
It didn’t matter if the guys were planning to have a rest, they all knew that at some point they’d still end up in a studio making music. Y/N wasn’t surprised to see a small one on the villa either – friends would only regret if they didn’t have their creative space.
At such times the girl didn’t usually bother them and was spending time by herself, enjoying small vacation. Honestly, she needed it. And even though Y/N was not with Luke anymore, just to be in his presence and see his face was the greatest gift.
“So, you finished it? I like it,” the girl smiled and entered the studio, as Luke performed the last accords of a song he showed her just few days ago. The band mates left to order food, but Luke decided to stay for a little longer.
“Sure, you do,” he chuckled and annoyingly leaned the guitar against the wall.
“I… do like it,” Luke’s coldness in a voice took Y/N by surprise, so she stumbled. “You think I’m lying?”
“Listen, I don’t want to talk about it,” he jumped from a couch and hurried up to leave, but the girl caught his hand.
“Luke… Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry, I just—“
“It’s nothing, really. Glad you liked the song. I just thought you’d be less delusional about it.”
Y/N felt like chills run all over her body, while she was looking at Luke’s blue eyes.
“Wait,” she swallowed. “Was this song about me? Us?…"
“Oh, so you finally figured it out?” he chuckled again and rolled the eyes, crossing arms on the chest as if not believing that all that time Y/N didn’t understand it. And honestly, she felt ashamed for not getting it all along.
“Luke… I just thought it’d be… too much of me to think so, I thought that maybe it’s just some fiction or about someone else and—“
The guy covered her palm with his, interrupting.
“All the songs for the past month were about you, Y/N,” he shook his head. “How could you not realize that?”
“Maybe because you’re asking why I won’t love you?”
“And what about it?” the guy shrugged.
“Because I already love you, Luke. Always have, nothing has changed,” she looked down, whispering her confession.
The guy’s heart threatened to break a chest with such a rushed beating.
“I hold on to you and you hold on to me,” he whispered back one of the final lines of the song and smiled shortly, squeezing the girl’s hand in his. “I don’t like being without you, Y/N. I’ve tried, I just hated it.”
The girl sighed and simply hugged her angelic boy, resting a head on his chest.
“I hated it, too. And I want to hold on to you if you hold on to me…”
“Always,” he promised and left a short kiss on her temple.

Never Doubt Me | Luke Hemmings
Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her)
Summary: A date, it would seem, could not get any worse, but then Luke remembered a painful rumour he heard about Y/N.
Warning: argument
Word Count: 1 519
Author’s Note: The name of Luke's friend was chosen randomly. Hopefully you’ll like this little episode. Requests are open and encouraged ♡

The moments when the guys were having a break after months of touring were always precious. Sure, they loved to travel, to sing and perform, to meet fans and interact with them, but it all required a lot of energy, and by the end of the trip everyone was pretty much exhausted.
It was a rather typical process, usually Luke stayed in bed for few days, trying to fight jetlag and get back to his normal time zone. He wasn’t really the one who liked to go out every night; after being away from home for a while, he preferred to stay in as much as he could. Having said that, when he was fully rested, he loved to make little surprises for Y/N and attend an exhibition she wanted to see for a while or even drive to a countryside and ride horses together. He had a romantic soul and he absolutely adored to share such moments with her. They also were really similar with their tastes, so it was never hard to decide where they’d go next.
One evening things didn’t go according to a plan, thought. It supposed to be a very simple one, they wanted to have dinner together at some fancy place. It wasn’t an anniversary, they just figured they didn’t have such classic dates for a while and they missed it.
The food at the restaurant he booked a table in, though, wasn’t really good, and they finished their meal pretty quickly. It’d be exaggeration to say their mood was ruined, but both were slightly upset it didn’t go as they expected. They didn’t ask for a dessert and decided to get ice cream in a local shop and turn their “classic” date into a home one instead.
Things turned worse, when the rain started, and a car was still not there. Luke silently was holding his black jacket over their heads, while Y/N was cuddling him and glancing at the phone, hoping the taxi would be anytime soon. Both were trying to think that everything was still possible to save, it was just food and just the weather after all.
Because of the “just the weather” they stack in a traffic and returned home an hour later than they could. Both exhausted and annoyed they hurried up to take off wet shoes and get warm. At that moment Luke stupidly remembered the morning when he had breakfast with a friend Ben, who claimed that he saw Y/N with a guy on a parking lot, kissing. At first Lu was trying to simply shake it off as he trusted Y/N and knew she wouldn’t do that to him. It made more sense, though, when Ben continued reasoning him: he was sure it was her, and, as he said, there was nothing to be surprised of as Luke was gone for so long.
“By the way, Ben told me this morning he saw you kissing some dude the other day on a store’s parking lot,” Luke chuckled, trying to sound as indifferent as he could. It was mostly stupid, he knew that. He didn’t even recall “the news” until that evening, as subconsciously the guy figured it was not important.
Y/N only chuckled back. Honestly, she wasn’t very surprised Ben would make such a rumor, she never liked that guy. She did try to fight with that inner feeling, as she knew Ben was a friend of Luke. Each time they’d meet all together it was getting more impossible, though.
“Of course, he did,” she smiled sarcastically, as the assumption was dumb, Y/N was loyal. The girl didn’t even think Luke was saying that with all seriousness, she thought it was some kind of joke, so she didn’t pay much attention and continued. “I’m so tired,” she sighed and put a tub of chocolate ice cream on a shelf where they kept the keys and other usual things. “The rain was so unnecessary,” Y/N smirked and glanced at the mirror to see how bad she looked after the street shower. It was a bummer, she spent quite some time doing her hair and makeup, and then it was all ruined.
Luke didn’t like the way Y/N changed the topic immediately, and as the main overthinker in their relationship he frowned a bit, still trying to stay calm.
“Well, I mean, why would Ben say that, right?” he mumbled. He trusted his girl, he knew she was not a cheater, but the musician was gone for a long time, and maybe, just maybe… she felt lonely. “Look, if it was just a kiss, I get it, it’s fine. I mean, we can just talk about it, I’d prefer you to say the truth, though,” Lu said softly, following Y/N to the kitchen and taking off his shirt on the way, as the clothes were slightly wet and it was unpleasant to stay in them any longer. “I understand it probably wasn’t a big deal.”
“Luke, it’s not funny anymore. Ben is a jerk, we both know that,” Y/N reminded him, putting the tub of ice cream in a freezer.
“You’re ignoring my question, though,” Luke smirked, staring at his girlfriend.
“What question?” she outraged, failing to keep it cool. It was rather painful to hear her boyfriend didn’t believe her but a friend who was never even a good one. Y/N understood she could just say it was a lie, but she had no proof and the only way out from that conversation was mutual trust. “You know I would never do it, I love you,” the girl said, looking at Luke and trying to hold sudden tears.
“Look, I’m sorry, I just… heard it and decided to share,” Luke shrugged and came closer to touch the girl’s shoulders, but she pulled away immediately.
“Get off me,” she mumbled. “I honestly can’t believe you even had that doubt,” Y/N shook her head and went to the bathroom. “Also, such a bad timing!”
Luke sighed heavily, being annoyed that Y/N flared up like a match, even though she had her reasons. “Can I join you?” he knocked the door, hearing the water.
“I don’t think so.”
The guy rolled his eyes and groaned shortly, being angry with both himself for rising that topic at first place and with her for not being able to take the news – even the fake ones – calmly.
Luke had to take a shower in a guest bathroom, and when he came back to the kitchen, Y/N was already there, pouring a strawberry jam on a top of ice cream. There were two plates and two cups of tea. They both overreacted, she was right – it was also a bad timing, they supposed to have a date…
“Look, I only said it because I wanted to be honest with you,” he mumbled, coming closer to her.
Y/N sighed and raised her head at him. She knew she could have done better in that situation but the pain took over the sanity.
“Didn’t we talk how it’s important to share everything with each other?” Luke continued, pushing wet curls from his forehead.
“It’s not that,” she spoke up. “It’s the way you said it. You were doubting me,” Y/N touched his hand and he immediately pulled her closer to himself. He hated arguing with her. She hated that, too. Y/N always used to say she tried to be away from any drama in her life. “I get it, you could have a thought, but for a second. And it’s Ben, Luke. You know how much he likes me,” she smirked sarcastically. “I never doubted you. You were touring around the world and meeting many people, but I never had a thought of you with someone else. I was waiting for you. And I don’t need anyone else in my life, but you,” the girl said openly, knowing she needed to tell all of it earlier, so they’d probably skip the unnecessary argument.
Luke sighed heavily and put a head on top of hers, squeezing the girl in his arms.
“I’m such an idiot,” he mumbled. Y/N was right, it was stupid to doubt her loyalty. It was even offensive.
“Yes, you are,” the girl mumbled back, but with a short smile on his face.
“Yes, I am,” Luke giggled and left a kiss on her temple. “Can we forget that and continue our weird date or I ruined it completely?” he smiled and stroked Y/N hair.
“You got some points back,” she joked and smacked his lips with hers, standing on the toes. “I’ve already prepared everything. We only need to get some candles.”
“I hate arguing with you,” he said emotionally, looking at Y/N eyes with his crystal blue.
“Me too. I’m sorry I got mad, I was just mostly sad.”
“I know, I’m sorry, too. I’ll get the candles, they’re in a bedroom.”
Y/N pouted her lips a little, as the guy unwillingly broke the hug to go upstairs. He chuckled and simply took her on his arms, realising he wasn’t ready to leave her again even for a slight second.

No Longer Together | Luke Hemmings

Four months have passed since Luke’s and Y/N’s breakup. The last week of university tests and exams were exhausting. The couple was stressed, and misunderstandings and bitter arguments were not helping. In the end, simply tired, they decided to take a pause before they’d start hating each other. Both knew what “a pause” actually meant, though.
The summer has flown by. The first month of being single again was the most difficult for Y/N, little by little she was getting better. The heart would still sting, remembering happy moments with Luke, but as they had holidays and weren’t able to see each other, it was somewhat better. Then September came, and they’d meet each other here and there, in a hallway or at lunch. They wouldn’t ignore each other, they’d say awkward “hi” or even “how are you”, but that was it. Y/N was trying to move on, even though it wasn’t easy. Their relationship lasted almost a year, and it was impossible to forget.
A university party at the begging of a new semester seemed like a good distraction. Y/N has never been a fan of spending her free time in such a particular way, it wasn’t her thing, but she figured the last year at university could be different.
The girl arrived to a house of a fellow student she didn’t even remember the name of, and pretty quickly befriended a girl with pink hair, who apparently enjoyed drinking alcohol that night as much as she did. Y/N wanted to forget all the pain she was going through the past months. Her best friend was always Luke, so it was especially lonely after them going separate ways. The mind was a tricky thing, once anger was gone, nostalgia hit really hard, and she couldn’t do much but pathetically miss him.
She was sitting in a spacious living room on a floor, playing a very basic student game “spin the bottle”. The pink-haired girl Irma was showing a photo of some young professor who was teaching economy, however Y/N wasn’t really impressed. She preferred blondes with blue eyes. With a particular name, too. And she had no idea that Luke was there, in the same room, looking at her.
He didn’t enjoy partying either. The guy would go occasionally, when he was too bored and had nothing to do. When Luke and Y/N started dating, they usually spent all free time together, so no one really was eager to attend the university gatherings. But he was single again, and the pain was still there for him, too. He knew he had made many mistakes in the past, and shouldn’t have been jealous for no reason, he needed to trust her more, he had to be patient. Y/N was quite impulsive, too, but looking back, Luke couldn’t even answer why exactly they broke up. He remembered they argued more than before, however the reasons appeared to be silly. Both wanted to prove something to each other, and all they’ve got in the end were broken hearts.
Luke noticed Y/N right away, when he entered the living room to play that stupid game. He slowly sank to the floor, observing the girl. She looked happy. Little drunk, but happy, talking to some girl and smiling, checking photos on a stranger’s phone. A short smile that barely touched his own lips changed into a sad smirk, though. He missed her. Every second of that meaningless life he was having without her.
The heart was jumping in the chest with the same speed as the bottle that Y/N just spun. More than anything Luke wanted it to point at him, and when the wish came true, the heart stopped beating at all. He felt like he forgot how to breathe completely once the eyes met hers.
He looked okay. His hair grew a bit, but besides that he hasn’t changed much, Y/N thought. The face still was as if illuminating all his kindness and softness for her. Although maybe it was just alcohol speaking in her simply sick mind. If Y/N wasn’t drunk, she’d definitely spin the bottle once again without hesitation or asking permission. Yet, at that moment she felt everything twice stronger, and the kiss with Luke was all she desired.
The girl leaned forward, and their lips met. The kiss was awkward at first, uncertain, as if the touch could physically hurt them, striking with lightening. However, the taste became damn familiar in a second, it was almost nostalgic and little melancholic. No one wanted to move away from each other, but Irma touched Y/N’s wrist the next moment and pulled back to the seat on the floor. Y/N flopped down and blushed, finding a courage to glance at Luke later on. He was already staring, smiling a bit. The guy wasn’t ready to say goodbye to her again, not that time. Not anymore.
“So, how did it feel?” the pink-haired girl glanced at Y/N and smirked. “Kissing someone else after your ex?” the girl told Irma earlier she was there, at the party, to forget her past relationship. And she’d love to tell, laughing, how ridiculous it was that her first kiss after the break up was still with the ex. As if faith was playing jokes on her, as if even the Universe wasn’t allowing to forget Luke. The thoughts rushed up in the head, and Y/N felt a lump in her throat.
“Yeah, good,” the girl mumbled and stood up to get some fresh air, as it became too stuffed in the room all of a sudden.
“Y/N,” Luke followed her immediately. His eyes were expressing too many emotions at once – a concern, regret, sadness. She, holding tears, could see the waves in him, crashing on the rocks in uneasy ocean of their love.
The head was heavy, but not because of alcohol. Y/N felt like she could fall down any second and yet, she didn’t want to shake the feelings off, she wanted to keep that pain and happy moments with him. Memories were all she’s been clinging to for the past few months.
Luke went quiet. He was looking at Y/N’s tired face, thinking how he could even allow that to happen, how he dared to let her go.
“How stupidly we broke up,” she said quietly, looking down at a wooden porch of the house. Y/N was open, as she has already lost everything she cared about, and there was nothing left. Too late to say “I’m sorry”.
The guy run the hand through his hair and raised the eyes to the sky, breathing in cold air rashly.
“Yeah,” he whispered, chewing lips and still trying to find at least a little bit of courage to say what was on his mind. “Do you think we need to talk?” the mouth was dry, he glanced at Y/N only for a slight second and then looked away.
“To talk?” she echoed after him, almost with disappointment in the voice. Just when the girl wanted to say that she missed him, to say how much she wanted to get them back, Luke asked something that usually followed by “we need to go separate ways” or “you should forget about me”.
“To talk,” Luke turned towards Y/N and took her palms in his carefully. “Y/N, I’m an idiot. I can’t stop thinking about you. Us. No matter how much more time will pass, I don’t think I will be ever able to forget you. I don’t want to.”
A quiet sob left her mouth.
“Please, let’s just get back together?” Luke mumbled with a shaking voice, being scared to hear a rejection more than meeting his death at that moment. "If you want that, too," he added, though, in a whisper.
“I miss you, too, so much, Luke,” Y/N sobbed again and broke the touch of their palms, but only to hug him instead. Luke caught her on his arms instantly. “Let’s start over? I love you.”
“I love you,” Luke whispered back and finally sobbed, too, letting out all the pain he’s been feeling when they were no longer together. “Let’s start over.”
The sky was silent that night. Only two stars lit up, but they didn’t see. They were too busy cuddling, sobbing into each other’s shoulders time to time and whispering confessions they regretted heartily they didn’t tell months earlier.

Hey! ❤️ I was thinking that could you maybe write a prompt with #2 and #11 with Luke? Here’s my idea for this: Luke comes back from tour and is touch-starved, more affectionate than ever. Whatever works for you! I love needy, fluffy Luke lol. Thanks x
He Called Her a Fairy | Luke Hemmings Pairing: Luke Hemmings x Reader (she/her) Summary: No matter how excited Luke was to go on tour, it was always too heartbreaking to say goodbye to Y/N. However, that parting was worth going through to meet again. Warning: hurt/comfort, angsty Prompt list: 2: “Please, don’t go.” & 11: “Hush, just kiss me.”
