[ Major spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chp 65-79, minor spoilers for later ]
It's not a secret that Jujutsu Kaisen is heavily based on Naruto (and Naruto is based on Hunter x Hunter, and Hunter x Hunter is based on... etc). Kakashi's analogous character is Gojo Satoru, the "genius" with magic eyes that can see through everything and wears an eye mask. This comes up a lot in jokes, it's pretty obvious from chapter 1.
However, Maito Gai also has an analogous character too - Fushiguro Toji.
The martial arts & cursed weapons user who has zero cursed energy and so is undetectable by normal sorcerers. He's from the Uchiha-like elite sorcerer family the Zen'in but he leaves conventional jujutsu society to get married and become and assassin-for-hire. He's extremely successful as an assassin because all his skills are completely physical, the equivalent of taijitsu. He can pass through barriers and by using a cursed spirit as a kind of infinite pocket he can carry all kinds of useful weapons. Because he's not focused on sensing spiritual energy his normal human senses are stronger. In fights he generally seems unpredictable and acts outside the normal tactics.

I think Gege Akutami does something interesting here with this interpretation of Gai's character. Aside from just making him darker and "cooler". Toji appears as a terrifying character who is seemingly perfectly designed to defeat other sorcerers. He completely destroys the cocky Geto/Gojo team, who consider themselves the strongest combat sorcerers alive (and are mostly correct). His purely physical abilities are used to their fullest potential in a way we don't really get to see in Naruto with Gai (until the Madara fight).
Gojo Satoru kills Fushiguro Toji at the end of this arc after Gojo has a near-death revelation and subsequent power-up. Toji is briefly revived again to kick ass in the Shibuya arc (Chapter 83+) but doesn't get to stick around. Unfortunately, this means Gojo/Toji is a fairly cracky pairing (501 fics on AO3, behind Toji/Reader and Toji/Megumi...).
If you're a Maito Gai fan and are one of the few shonen manga fans who haven't read Jujutsu Kaisen yet, I'd recommend it for this character alone. There's even a Lee-like successor to Toji, his female cousin and fan-fave character Zen'in Maki who also can't use spiritual energy.
