     Chiaki had a feeling she knew where she would find Vivian. She rarely left that place, not even to eat or sleep. With Hajime’s approval, she had set up a pillow and blanket area for her to sleep there, though he still seemed apprehensive. Chiaki didn’t blame him. Most of their troubles had been due to both her and Nagito’s intervention. To Hajime and the others, they were still dangerous. She didn’t fault any of them. It hadn’t been until the end that one of them had turned on despair to help the rest.

     She knew that; she had been there. Even so, the only reason she’d been there had been a small bit of mercy from Nagito and Vivian years ago. They had let her live, nursing her back from the edge of death before anonymously dropping her in front of people who could help her more. They could have ended her life, but they didn’t.

     That was when she’d understood they weren’t all bad.

     As Chiaki stepped into the room, quiet as a crypt, her eyes went straight to Vivian, sitting next to the pod that held her companion. They had been dependent on one another for so long. In all of Chiaki’s memories, they had been attached at the hip. Being separated like this must have been hard on her, but she still needed to eat. That was why she was carrying this tray of food.

     She walked up and stood behind Vivian, announcing herself as to not frighten her.

           “Hi Vivian. It’s dinnertime.”

           “You know, this is the first time I’ve actually seen your face.”

     He couldn’t help but laugh. Bringing themselves into a video call might have been a good idea after all. Actually seeing her made her real. Knowing she was real meant no one could say she wasn’t really his friend.

     A real friend would video chat with you in the middle of the night like this when they had just woken up.

          “Your room is as dark as mine. Haha~.”

If They Had A Kid... 

Name: Ayano Souda

Gender: Male

General appearance: Ayano has a messy hair that starts off dark gray at the top and gradients down to bright pink; He had wild purple eyes and follows a lot of Kazuichi’s fashion choices.

Personality: Ayano can be quite clumsy often stumbling on themselves when excited and accidentally biting themselves with his abnormally shaped teeth (fangs). Ayano, however, can be quite the dolt when it comes to talking with others often saying things that don’t really need to be said or saying them at the wrong time. 

Special Talents: He likes working with sound waves and will be constantly be tinkering on ways to make sound through music and voice much more--- crisp sounding. Through his father, he’s been able to test a bunch of mechanics out for special working speakers that allow sound waves travel a greater distance than a normal set of speakers. 

Who they like better: He likes both, but probably Kazuichi. 

Who they take after more: Vivian.

Personal headcanon: Ayano makes sure to keep track of his tetanus shot every year since he works with a lot of machinery and not only that, but he’s really good at keeping track of his health.

She smiled and nuzzled herself against her friend. "I promise I'll get you something later! Next time tell me sooner so I can get you a present on time!"

          “D-D-Don’t scare me like that!”

     Toko nearly jumped out of her skin. She had gotten somewhat used to Vivian appearing out of nowhere, but it still surprised her when she did one of those jump hug things. She wouldn’t admit it, but she was happy that Vivian had acknowledged it...and the fact that they shared a birthday. Something about that made her feel all warm inside.

         “You d-didn’t ask...”

     It was partially her own fault. She hadn’t said anything, expecting everyone to subconsciously know. Now that she thought about it, no wonder nobody said anything.

          “Ah! Vivian?!”

     Makoto thought he was going to fall. He was pleasantly surprised to find himself in Vivian’s arms being squeezed to death. He had seen it happen to dozens of people, but he hadn’t expected that he’d be lifted next. It was like a glimpse into the everyday life of his upperclassmen.

          “T-Thanks...”

     Izuru wasn’t sure if it worked that way, but he supposed he shouldn’t dismiss her display of affection. That would be, as some people put it, “not good”.

     Besides, it was Vivian. She was...different.

          “Hm...”

     A typical response, but there was a hint of content in his tone.

          “Vivian, what the-?!”

     Without any warning, Hajime felt himself falling toward the ground. He didn’t hit it as hard as he thought, but it was still enough to surprise him. She really needed to be more aware of her strength! Even if he had some strength on his own, his reaction time could use a bit of work.

     As soon as he heard her voice, his shoulders relaxed. Okay, good, Vivian was there. He didn’t have to think about her not being there. He didn’t have to think about what had upset him in the first place.

     Safely tucked in her arms, he leaned his head against her shoulder. As her heartbeat filled his ear, he closed his eyes and spoke in a soft, barely audible voice.

          “…I’ll try.”

    Sonia allowed herself a giggle as she thought of an additional testimony.

    Nagito put his arms around Vivian and held her close. She sounded so tired. He wanted to pick her up and put her back to bed, but he knew that she just wanted to cuddle. He accepted it and stood there with a smile on his face.

         “Vivian is actually the best friend               ever, but I’ll let you win for now.”

    When he found the box, he knew who had left it. Every time he thought about his best friend, a smile grew on his face. Nagito owed so much to Vivian for giving him the opportunity to be himself instead of immediately brushing him off as crazy. It’d be much stranger if he didn’t know her handiwork when he saw it.

    The gift inside surprised him. He rarely removed his charm bracelet to the point where he forgot about it until he felt the tapping of his charms against his wrist. He had quite a few of them, but he didn’t have as many as he wanted to symbolize their friendship. These hearts were their colors. Nagito had to put them on as soon as possible, but that was easier said than done on his own.

    He chuckled to himself, knowing that Vivian was close by. She couldn’t stand to not see her own work in action.

          “Okay Vivian, how about you reveal                yourself and help me attach these?”

     Every time Vivian said things like that, part of him wanted to tell her that she shouldn’t care. How could someone as pathetic as him be special to anyone? He held no significance and only filled their lives with misfortune by virtue of being near him. He didn’t have the ability to embody hope himself, and he was only someone to be used by those who could.

     Ah, but she didn’t listen to those things. She understood his philosophy, but she rejected the parts that belittled him. How admirable…

           “If I say the same thing about you…                you know what will happen to you, right?”

     It was true, though. She was important to him. Nagito had been friends with people before, most of them now deceased, but Vivian was different. She hadn’t left yet even though she knew the risks. Nothing had happened to her yet even though he’d admitted to himself how much he liked her. Vivian was his best friend. He could call her that and feel that it was true in his heart. He wanted to cast his caution to the wind and tell her how much he appreciated her.

     So he did.

          “Even if it signs her death warrant…               Vivian should know that I feel the same way…”

Breaks into his dorm room ( though no really bc Nagito never fucking locks his door ) and just. Climbs into bed with him and hugs him. No reason. She just felt like sleeping in Nagito's room tonight. { technonewkid }

     Surprisingly, he’d been drifting off to sleep. The past few days had been stressful between school work and his own emotional whirlwind. With Saki curled up against his stomach, he had closed his eyes to rest them for a bit, his phone sliding out of his hand as he relaxed.

     As soon as he felt Vivian’s arms, his eyes opened slightly to make sure those were her hands. Once confirming it wasn’t anyone he didn’t want there, he smiled to himself.

          “…Goodnight, Vivian~.”
