has anyone recently had an issue with their V's nail polish disappearing in photomode? I've run through every possible issue i can think of, and nothing is fixing it

it just started like a week ago and i haven't done any major updates; the only mods I've added are clothes and poses

the only mods i use that affect nails/arms are xbae's vanilla big booba togglable feet body + arms, and I've determined they are not the issue (removed them and still had the issue PLUS i have them active on my less modded game and v's nails appear just fine).

no gorilla arms, no mantis blades, etc. mods; valerie does have the thermal projectile cyberware (and it's just occurring to me that i haven't tried changing her cyberware to see if that has any effect; will give that a go)

i do have photo mode unlocker which i know can do funky stuff, but I've downloaded the facial fixes for it; i don't know if there's something else I'm missing there

i don't have any other special textures or anything that would obviously be connected to nails

the nail polish does appear in the mirror animations but spawned v's nail polish doesn't show

ETA - okay it seems like it might be connected to the specific character save I'm on? tried one of my other versions of valerie and the nail polish loaded fine soooo hmmm

ETA 2 - so it does seem to be connected to the thermal projectile cyberware; changing her to mantis blades makes the nails come back, and then when i tried to go back to the thermals, they disappeared again

i like the mantis blade aesthetic more anyway so i guess whatever since this save is specifically for photomode but wtf. the other saves have the thermals too and it's not doing this so dfkjghfdjgdfg

Pinky and Co claiming NPCs as their only OTP, blocking others bc of it (supposed doxxing bc of it? I remember when it first happened)

Pinky and Wash (wanderingaldecaldo) drama over Mitch - tbh I don’t even know who started it or who “bullied” who over it first or whatever the fuck it was

SS copying artwork without crediting the original creators

Wingdeer calling out a handful of modders for “copying” her mods (Anrui, Zwei, xBae, Breezy) - either using a mesh provided to use for everyone or creating something similar but not exact to something she had already created

The Anrui/Wing/Wraithsoutlaws drama over inverted cross over the eyes mod - linked with the copying

The Lizzie’s discord server drama (which I was a member before and after ScorpioInk took over and I have feelings)

AMM and Modding server just being generally unwelcoming and unhelpful towards newbies in the fandom and new modders (not that you can consider it drama but yeah)

Uh I know I’m missing just general stuff, like just Zwei and her lawyer stuff, getting all buddy buddy with people to get others kicked from servers, her gatekeeping her mods when mostly anyone can find 90% of them

Man, Alex. Friend. You should just run. This fandom isn’t worth it. There are some good people but it’s rare to find a true friend within this hellhole - trust me

I met someone I thought I trusted and turns out, instead of coming to me with any problem that had with me, they went to others while continued to act nice to me in DMs, discord servers and on social media. Like. Fuck these two faced people. Just run.

One person mentioned "white cis women +30" as if that was a criteria for friendship. And among the girls mentioned, I only saw benevolent chicks, who have always been there to help the newbies and the mod strays (wench with her tuto, wash and glory for the mods). I know Lizzies wasn't perfect, but I Scorpio and Raven were always so nice and caring with me too. It may not mean anything I know, but the criticism I heard was from people banned for bad behavior, or from paranoid people who thought every single word was about them, even when it wasn't. Then again, Lizzie's disappeared, so did the mods, so people won, right?

Let's talk about Pinky blocking people for liking "his" Mitch a little too much, just like Halk liking "their" Panam too much, blocking others as if they could keep it to themselves. And also their gang who think modding is a power, to the point of insulting "smooth brains" those who have trouble understanding modding because it's not easy and sometimes there's a language barrier. Let's also talk about ZV and Xbae the gatekeepers of the poses. But also their "fans" ready to do anything to please them to the point of harassing people and telling them to change ship because ours is crap ... that's the true villains

sorry, unrelated to any drama but i saw an ask on here saying there's a pose maker mod now? WHERE? I'd give anything to make my own poses and not have to use the zwei/xbae poses 😭

wingdeer legit started shit against breezypunk bc they finally recolored those johnny boots in more colors and called them a copy cat

for a mesh that available to everyone in a program to use and recolor and refit like? she wanted credit it seemed? for what? doing it first?

girl if other modders got this butthurt over people doing recolors of mods theyve already done, we wouldn’t have half the modders we do now.

you dont own something that anyone can get and use. different story if its your own hand built design/creation

i also don’t see people calling wing out for copying xbae’s chest harness. it’s not an exact copy, a few straps are different but the legit same thing and i’ve never seen an npc in game wearing it sooo…

but I digress

You can't own something from the game. But I agree with the hand built desing/creation part that this you can claim.

WIP Wednesday

Sure, maybe it's Thursday but I haven't gone to sleep yet so it's practically still Wednesday. Anyway, it looks like Mitch is just as smitten with Corpo Val as I am.

“Never properly thanked you for staying with me that day on the bridge.”

“Didn’t need to. Just wished that for myself when—my friend died.”

He’s quiet for a moment. “Same one who gave you that nickname you hate?” She scoffs but says nothing. “Can see why it’s hard to let go of it, even if you hate it.”

Val frowns at him, her face tightening and jaw working, and he’s worried that he crossed some invisible line. With her corpo background it’s hard for him to know, especially when the mask slips down over her face—but this is different, the mask is still off. She stares at him, studies him even, though he hasn’t the faintest idea why. Possibly why she’s here sitting with him at all.

She’s always stopped by for a beer on previous visits but she has never come to camp solely for him. His luck with women faded along with his hairline, and even in his prime he’s certain he would have been punching above his weight. So for her to show up and make a beeline for him—whatever it is, she’ll tell him when she’s ready. Instead of fretting Mitch tends to his beer and cigarette, focusing on each in turn.

“My best friend Jackie.” Her voice is quiet when she finally speaks and he turns to watch her. She doesn’t look at him, just stares at the beer as she picks at the label with perfectly polished nails. “Died almost a year ago.”

“Just before Scorp then.”

She nods and he takes a pull on his cigarette while his chest aches. At the time he wasn’t sure why he called her—part transference between a survivor and his savior, part wanting an outsider who wouldn't try to talk him out of it, and who knows what else—but he did, and she showed up. This city kid mourning her own best friend.

“I’m sorry.”

She nods again, then jerks her chin at him. “Can I get one of those?”

“’Course.”

He pulls out the pack and taps one out for her to take. Just as he reaches out with the lighter intent on passing it to her, she leans forward, cigarette poised at her ruby lips, and her emerald eyes flick to his. He works on autopilot, leaning forward and cupping the flame with his silicone hand and he forgets to breathe when her fingers linger on his. She flicks her eyes back up to him once more and the air whooshes out of his lungs as if he’s been hit by a freight train, or jumped into the farm pond on a sunny March day.
