The yelp you got for your efforts made you want to laugh, but you just smiled kindly at her. She tapped your head with her staff before getting back to work, an unmistakable blush on her face.

Either way, he was willing to play along. Anything to score some cash.

“Pathetic...” Opal murmured, her blade quickly being drawn and slicing through the skin of the bandit’s neck, a quick flick of her wrist to fling some of the blood off before she slides it back into its sheath. Her brown eyes watch as the bandit hits the ground, and she snorts indignantly before turning, about to walk down the path in front of her before another figure stops her.

Glaring, Opal crosses her arms, looking towards the person with an annoyed fire in her eyes.

“What do you need? I’ve dirtied my blade enough. Don’t make me stain it with your blood too.”

It had been raining earlier in his part of town, and of course the hero-for-hire had been caught out with no means of shelter from it. He was in a rush to meet up and rendezvous with somebody who he was tasked with escorting for a particularly dangerous job. The man had almost overslept, having nodded off in a public park prior... not that anybody needed to know that embarrassing tidbit.

Running a hand through his damp locks of hair, he popped one of his coveted coffin nails into his mouth and lit it up. He was a little cool before but the burning, tingling sensation in the back of his throat helped warm his core. It wasn’t too long after when his escort made himself visible.

“Are you the chick I’m gonna be bustin’ my ass to keep safe?”

I suggest you leave, now, before I do something you’ll regret. And don’t think you can take me, either; I have a rather reliable guardian who is currently nearby who could rip you in half without a second thought if he needs to step in, which I highly doubt will have to happen. Now, go, you poor, arrogant soul, before I make you go.”
