in love with the idea of the db's followers being as remembered in history as the db themself. imagine:

engineers, for generations, mumbling the formula called 'Remiel's Constant' under their breaths as they develop machinery, because it's such a foundational discovery on Remiel's part for a new age of engineering

in contrast, future alchemists agonizing over Xelzaz' thousands of alchemical discoveries a night before their finals, bemoaning why he was so diligent in cranking out formula after formula because now they have so much to memorize

historians and casual history buffs alike locked in discourse on whether or not the last prince of the Thalmor actually colluded with the Dragonborn in the Second Great War to help bring down the Dominion, with vaguely-worded correspondence for evidence

adaptations of the tale where every single follower is at least someone's 'blorbo'

the ballad of Inigo the Brave being a cultural touchstone for Khajiit rep and spawning Tamriel's version of the rogue, underdog hero archetype. even when it's a totally fictional work, if the protagonist (or charming side character) is weirdly charismatic, roguishly handsome, and with a heart of gold, chances are the creator was inspired by Inigo's legacy.

the massive misunderstandings of the dragonborn's original history. Thanks to anti-Thalmor sentiments long after the Second Great War, Nebarra was deemed as a traitor figure to the Dragonborn, but this sentiment was overturned centuries after uncovering contemporaries' journal entries on their friendship

when you ask someone who they think Sir Kaidan was to the dragonborn, there's an equal chance of them firmly believing he was their lover, platonic best friend, or loyal but professional lieutenant. they will have reams of evidence to back it up, no matter which stance they take.

many who have felt that they never perfectly fit into the demands of their faith or community, not just bosmer, resonating with Auri's story. realizing that while they may be an outlier in their own eyes, they can still do a lot of good in the world, and that has to count for something.

Featuring:

Occupying the Proudspire Manor balcony 24/7 to read letters and bitch over the terrible relationships ("-this idiot is OBVIOUSLY not interested in the ex, I've never seen a flag more red than when we marched on Cyrodiil in the Great War!" "Tally, don't say that in the middle of Solitude-")

Some advice-seekers seeming suspiciously familiar ("This 'Romantic of Solitude' pining for his strong independent colleague... isn't this Falk Firebeard?")

Surprising the growing readerbase with very deep and touching advice on topics of family, self-confidence, and loneliness, since the two lads can relate.

Shrieks in the middle of the night. People start to whisper about the ghost inhabiting Proudspire Manor... it's just the lads getting the GOOD tea.

Caryalind: *LOUD gasp* Taliesin, sitting up from bed with cucumber slices falling from his eyes: "What?!" Cary, waving around a letter: "Nazeem's wife wants a divorce!"

DB wondering why there are so many letters to Proudspire Manor all of a sudden. They don't know about the side hustle.

Guest aunt Nebby! A lot of readers actually prefer his snarky, blunt advice. It certainly resonates with the Nord way of things.

Nebarra: "If he tells you what to do with your own money one more time, tell HIM what to do with his LACK of money and kick him out the house."

Xelzaz figures it out a good while into the bit. He connected the dots between the sudden popularity of this advice column and the piles of letters in Cary's room. He prefers to read the letters and be a sounding board for Tally and Cary instead of publishing his own advice.

He'll definitely share some quick cooking tips though. Some people think that The Gourmet is a contributor to the column; it's just Xelzaz.

Just Tally, Cary, Nebs, and Xelzaz on the Proudspire balcony, popping open Alto Wine and bonding over shitty relationship advice.

So I had a hilarious moment in Skyrim where Neb and Lucien started fighting, because Neb had presumably been hit by friendly fire from an attack by Lucien... But hey, given the ice spikes, I would have said Tally but maybe Neb needed a reason to bash an Imperial.

Taliesin : ...Should someone tell him it was me, or? Lucifer : Nah.

So here it is, after a few blows of the sword, Lucien, determined not to let himself be done, retaliates with great blows of magic.

...Which sends Nebarra flying into the ashes, for the first time.

But Nebarra is stubborn and does not let himself be dismantled for "so little". After all, he's fighting an Imperial, he's already fought a number of them two decades ago. It's about his honor, I suppose.

But racial slurs don't sit well with Lucien.

He remains polite but his gaze is worth all the speeches in the world. Obviously, Nebarra, blood heated by the fight, continues on its momentum.

Inigo : He shouldn't go after my friend Lucien. He has become a very powerful mage. Maybe he'll even turn him into a Mudcrab, eventually.

...And Nebarra, once again, took a tumble head over heels in the ashes, catapulted away by the impact of a powerful spell.

Seeing the Altmer struggling to get up and climb to meet Lucien who was quietly regenerating his life, Xelzaz asked him, a little pity in his voice, pointing to the bloody wound that smeared his shoulder.

Xelzaz : Do you need help with that gash, Nebarra ?

...before rolling again in the ash, under the jaded gaze of the Argonian.

Xelzaz : *deep sigh*

Apart from a few small cries of pain, Lucien did not open his teeth, but in his eyes you could read the determination not to let himself be walked on. Maybe even Lucien really realized his potential, his ability to really fight?

Lucifer : ...Your last words ? Lucien seems fine. Remiel : Do you think we should help Neb? Xelzaz : No.

Remiel : Do you think they have a long time yet? Night will soon fall. Auri : I find their fight very entertaining. Remiel : True, but I wouldn't want us to be surprised by vampires. Xelzaz : If Nebarra only knew when to stop...

Taliesin : Wow, that was low. Even if for him this fight is cathartic, it's far from delicate...

Lucien : My mother fought in the great war too! I won't put her to shame!

Inigo : Nice one my friend ! I think you broke your throwing record !

Nebarra : *hand clenched on the hilt of his sword, unable to get back on his feet*

Lucien : *after quickly healing himself* Ah ! That's was exhilatating ! Should we go back to Raven Rock ?
