Tbh as much as I enjoy and understand the "KC as Bloodmoon's dad" thing, when u look a lil closer: KC seemed to have a slight theme of using family bonds as a means of control tbh.....

Like, my personal reading of KC for a while has been like. KC loves to lie.

KC prattled on and on to Moon about how they're brothers now, how they can rely on one another–and while, yes, Moon did call bullshit–KC still notably then turned around a few episodes later to ask Eclipse to find a way to "break" Moon.

KC promised Bloodmoon all of this glory, endless blood and food for his best sons, but ultimately didn't care when they died. This is later reaffirmed when BM v2 seeks KC out and he finally gives up the act, acting nonchalant and cold to the twins.

Eclipse was really the only one who didn't cave to this because he's already a very distant person. He didn't fall for promises of control or dominance, he didn't fall for being KC's "son", all he did was play the same game back at him and conspire while he wasn't looking.

KC can be read as a real manipulative guy, and that is just. so deeply fun to me <3

So ummm I have been thinking about editing and changing some details for my long-fic, "Could We Have Peace?" This isn't a decision I have fully made so these changes may not even happen. I am just rambling here.

So this wouldn't be the first time I changed an aspect of my fic. I have already done it twice before.

I have an old draft of the fic which I uploaded called 'what could have been peace?" And in this old draft Ghost went back during the climb out of the abyss and Howl is still a young vessel. I only had 8 chapters written, and I hadn't uploaded any chapters at that point, so I have able to change it pretty easily.

The second time I changed the fic was when I uploaded chapter 14. At that point I didn't like how soft Orrin was. I thought he would need to get through some character development before becoming a 'good person'. He is a king, he doesn't quite know how to be soft to a personal level. So I put the fic on pause, edit the Pale Kings part and then resumed uploading chapters while putting the note in chapter 15 that I edit PK personality.

Now, I uploaded chapter 33 of my fic, and I would like to change Howl's ability to see.

I have thought about this change for a while, but recently after seeing this artwork, I was actually thinking about doing it.

If I do this then I would have to change Howl's character and how they perceive things. In the fic I always wrote how they liked seeing all the different colors, from clothing to environment. But then if they were blind then they would have to describe what they are hearing, and feeling. Let me go section to section to see what has to be changed

- Howl would escape the Palace as their injuries are catching up with them, meaning their blindness. They would have to wander through Kingdoms Edge blind. I like this image, just them stumbling around until they eventually find Markoth.

- (I initially thought their communication style would change, but I think that they could write just very sloppily)

-(while they are still in Kingdom's Edge they could bet a better sense of their surroundings though the void. They could sense little hoppers and booflies and practice at sensing life.)

- Howl would have a lot more trouble getting out of Kingdom's Edge, which means that Markoth practically has to be attached at the hip to make sure they don't fall. So when their arm eventually falls off, he would only know mere seconds before they collapse.

-The Resting Grounds shouldn't be too difficult of a place to traverse through. They will for sure bonk their head multiple times, but this is their chance to sense other living beings and actually sense their surroundings. I mention in the fic that they loved the colors of the tapestries throughout the Seers hut, so she might let them touch them and explain what is on them. They would certainly love the texture of them and pretty much anything in the hut.

-when they get to Blue Lake, they would enjoy the salt washing over them. In the fic I wrote how they loved the color, and I don't want to take out their hyper-fixation of the lake. They would recognize Quirrel by the sound of his voice when he comes in.

-(now I was thinking if Howl was blind, there was no way Markoth would drag them through Crystal Peaks, Howling Cliffs and then the Emerald Caverns. But I think he knows he doesn't have much of a choice. Besides, they have been getting better and are able to sense lifeforms. So Markoth would assist them though some portions).

- In chapter 26 when Howl has their panic attack, they could have simply gotten stuck anywhere.

-Another tricky section is when Xero and Howl have their conversation in chapter 30, I don't know if Howl would willingly leave their bed and wander when no one is awake. Though they could simply sense where everyone was and check the campgrounds before hand so they know where to go.

- Yet another tricky section is when Quirrel almost falls into a cavern and Howl saves him. How could they have done this? Will I use void as a way again?

- the Howling Cliffs has the same solution as Crystal Peaks

-The Festival I bet Howl would need assistance to get through the Emerald Caverns simply cause there are so many more bugs around. I think they would have the same mentality for dancing and would do it. They would recognize Ghosts name and then sense their siblings.

Now, even if I can make those changes with current chapters, there are a few things in planned chapters that make their sight important.

I know this post was a bit rambling, but I wanted to play around with this idea as I like the concept of blind hk.

i have sooo much planned for owd its exciting. hero's backstory with the accident involving her family...that being revealed to nocturne as also the reason he was separated from his creator (who also died) and captured by an evil organization to turn him into the ultimate weapon...all this being tied together by expy, who has the means of time travel and lets them go back to the past to find this out...everything being tied back to heolstor as well, with her having been connected to nocturne when she was much younger...

i really need to name this organization tho LOL. i havent rly thought about it. maybe i'll just name them claw. the claw organization. that has a cool ring to it tbh. maybe they aim to "claw their way to the top" or "trap the world in their claws" bc they aim to rule the entirety of paradoxia. and they were tryna use nocturne to do it..

also hero's forms. by extension nocturne's forms. unlike popular "super" forms in media hero actually doesnt get her super form until AFTER she gets her dark super form! in fact her dark super form is her first actual transformation lol. she only goes super when she comes back to the good side. nocturne doesnt have a super form until he and hero have to fight the final final boss xeros, but it proves to be pretty useless against her, even paired with hero's super form... good thing they get ultra forms!!! (it's kinda equivalent to sonic's hyper form i guess) im excited about ultra forms bc those give them the power to FUSE. man i have to design their fusion. their name is nero and i picture them to be so actually cool

Suddenly thinking about Crimson Nails and fluff and wing grooming in general...

I really like the idea and thinking that whenever Xero goes ahead and helps Markoth (who's usually acts rather gruff and not openly affectionate in general) with his scruffy floof and wings, Markoth just ends up melting into the comfort Xero gives him.

The amount of trust Markoth and Xero has in each others' presence is so much that Markoth is willing to allow and let himself relax and be vulnerable infront of Xero because he knows Xero would never try to hurt him in any way even if he lets downs his walls. (And I'm just OUGHHhhh I love them so fucking MUCH)

Speaking of which, Markoth would be so comfortable, in fact, that whenever Xero tries to strike a small conversation with Markoth during this time, Markoth can only hum in response. (Hell maybe even purr.)

Because of the fact he's just so blissed out during the entire time Xero is helping him with his floof and wings.

His usually scrunched up face is completely relax and calm as he just smiles.

And Xero enjoys every moment of this.

Just hearing Markoth hum in contentment as his own heart swells with joy with how much Markoth loves and trusts him and how he feels the exact same way.

This is honestly the best way they could spend time together.

You know its actually kinda cute cause, like, because they're identical twins who, presumably, have the same DNA biologically speaking any kid they have with Elesa could, in a way, be considered both their kids simply because, as far as I know, there'd be no way to determine which of them actually induced. Because identical twins.

Hi anon!! Istg I did not mean to wait this long to answer holy shit it’s been nearly 2 weeks I am SO sorry

But okok originally, I just wanted to redraw the “Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan” painting with my gijinkas, so YES Hollow was originally supposed to just. Die. In this au.

BUT since I’m a sucker for pre-sealing AUs where Hollow gets the chance to forge real relationships with the people around them, ig it’s my turn to do it now lol

SO!! Idk how canon this is, but I headcannon that, while the infection reduces people to their base instincts generally, the Radiance can choose to individually control certain bugs, so when she realises that the so called “Pure Vessel” isn’t hollow, she realises she has the perfect opportunity to take out the Pale King in a way that he’d never see coming, mostly bc of how deep in denial he is that Hollow is hollow, and bc he’s so confident that he’s safe within the palace walls; he’d be caught completely off guard.

So, long story short, Radi infects Hollow instead of Xero (ik he’s not a knight but the caption sounded more dramatic that way) and tries to assassinate the king. In a last ditch attempt to stop attacking their father, Hollow momentarily wrestles back control and stabs themself instead, which further confirms the fact to PK that his child has a will of their own.

Like. When Hollow stumbles in, dishevelled, hair out of place, their armour nowhere to be seen, he genuinely assumes that they’ve finished their tasks for the day and have been ordered into his study. When he realises they’re infected, his initial thought isn’t that they’re alive, but that he was wrong in his assumption that you need to have a mind to become infected, and he’s essentially given Radi an empty puppet to play with. It’s only when Hollow takes the initiative to fight back against Radi that it clicks for him.

So! I’m open to suggestions about how or why this happens bc I’ve not figured it out yet (maybe Radi figures Hollow’s a lost cause and there’s no point wasting more energy on keeping them under her control is they’re dying anyway??? Maybe some void fuckery happens??) the point is, as PK takes Hollow into his arms for perhaps the first time in their life, the heat of the infection leaves their eyes, and PK manages to heal them enough that he can call for help without worrying that they’re going to bleed out in his arms immediately.

In the palace gardens, where Hornet is having a tea party with Herrah and the White Lady, PK’s cry for help is heard and Hollow is taken into a room where they can rest and heal (in the same wing of the palace as pk and wl’s room bc holy fucking shit we’ve been treating our child like an object their whole life they don’t even have a proper bedroom wtf is wrong with us).

they all agreed and cheered for the free meals, but younghoon still seemed a bit grumpy.

you walked beside him as you guys went out the door. "you know i was joking, i obviously didn't forget you guys." you chuckled but there was no reply.

you frowned, but continued to walk beside him. off you went to the kbbq place down the street.

How bout Reader and THK who knew each other before and after their sealing?

I both had fun writing this and struggled a lot so I don’t know if I’m proud of this or ashamed. Hope you enjoy it though

You’re an old bug. Your memories are a bit foggy and body a little achy, but you still can hold your own decently well. You aren’t sure how you’ve lived so long but you try not to let the thought linger. You have more important things to dwell on.

Like how much your home kingdom had changed since you had left.

 The once-bustling town had been all but destroyed by the infection, your old king’s failure causing everything to break down so quickly. You had only just escaped in time.

Here though, everything was open. Two shops with many more houses taken, an old bug giving advice with a younger playing a tune stood outside.

You talk history with the old one, wondering what has happened since your leave. According to him a small bug as quiet as can be opened everything. They were odd and whisked around so fast you’d swear you had just been passed by a ghost that disappeared in a flash.

He offered that you stay in the village, there are plenty of empty houses after all. You take your pick of course, if not a permanent home you can set up a place to stay for a decent amount of time. The house in question is large and dusty but you’ll deal with it later. What’s important is that it had a bed to rest in and no holes in the walls or ceiling. 

After you know which house you claim you turn your attention to something more important; The old well leading to the underground.

You’re careful when sliding down the chain. It sways and jingles as you descend, something you aren’t entirely fond of. Though the dead and mutilated husks were something you are fond of even less so. But better they finally died here rather than arising from the infection.

The temple isn’t far away, just a turn and you saw the old thing. Before you even entered you could sense something different from when you saw it last. A quick look within and you can see the egg had been broken open.

A bug just as old as you sit on a bench just outside the black egg. They look a great deal different from how you remember them. Their pure white cloak is now torn and slowly turning green, their armor that doubled as shackles gone without a trace, their mask and body cracked and frail. They hunch over with a posture you have never seen them take. They only vaguely look in your direction, so deficient from the laser focus sight you remember before.

They sit on the far side of the bench leaving plenty of room for you to sit beside them.

You look up at them, “It’s been such a long time, I can’t tell who fared it worse,” you muse, “I wonder if you remember… Does the name ‘Purr’ still hold any weight to you?”

They straighten slightly at the name, vision completely focused on you, something that felt unnerving, yet familiar.

“It appears so,” whether that was a good thing, you aren’t sure of yet, “I often wonder if giving you that name was why the infection spread after you were sealed.”

You look away from them, remembering what it had been like as a servant of the palace. “I wasn’t even supposed to talk to you. I don’t know if anyone else other than your father was ever even allowed too. And as much as rambled to you, I never talked to the other two servants. I was too afraid that if I let others know I’d get tossed from the palace.”

They were supposed to be empty of mind or will and with no voice to speak of, the old king had been so worried that if someone had spoken with them his perfect hollow vessel would grow a mind.

“I had thought it was odd you didn’t have a name, and your title felt too much like calling you an object, which I guess was the point. It wasn’t a very creative name, but changing Pure to Purr was about as good as I could do. I could never tell if you liked the name or not.”

You had given them a name on a whim. If it weren’t for seeing their head tilt in the corner of your eye you wouldn’t have given it a thought. The name probably wouldn’t have stuck but when you looked back they overcorrected, they were straighter and stiffer than before. Purr had been caught.

“I rambled on so much to you. I guess I haven’t learned to be quiet even now,” You pause, thinking for a moment, looking at them as they stare at you, as silent as ever.

“Do you want me here?”

Purr gives a silent nod as they relax back into their hunched posture. 

Leaning against the back of the bench you continue to talk, “I remember the day you were sealed. I wasn’t given any warning. I went to clean your room as I usually did every third day only to be told you were gone. You were sacrificed so the whole of Hollownest could live on,” You clasp your hands together, doing your best to suppress the bitterness rising from within you.

“I knew it wouldn’t work. It… It felt wrong… I knew in numbers if it worked the four being sacrificed for the whole would be better but that shouldn’t have been your burden to carry. You were a bug like any other, you didn’t choose to be born as the king’s child. You… Never did anything to suggest unhappiness either though. Why?” 

You were leaning forward again, trying to suppress old feelings as you looked back up at them, at Purr.

“When the years passed and the infection returned I couldn’t forgive the king for what he had done. It felt…” You looked up at them, at their cracked mask with eyes so much duller, with nothing but a cracked nail to a name they were never supposed to even have, “It felt like I lost a friend.”

You try to keep your voice from cracking. “It felt selfish, even treasonous to want you back. After all, the last person to call out the king for his ways was Xero, a bug executed as soon as possible to set an example for the rest. Especially when everyone was so happy the infection was finally gone. The only reason I survived was that I was already making plans to leave the king's influence, to escape his web of lies.”

You let out a deep sigh, “And here I am, rambling at the same heir I wished so much to save from a fate they never fought against. I don’t even know if talking with you here has helped or hurt my state of mind.”

Looking back at Purr they still look as emotionless and tired as they had before the one-sided conversation began.

“Thank you for listening to this old bug ramble but I should head back to my new home in Dirtmouth,” you stand as you speak, “If you’d like to listen to more of me ramble then you can visit me.”

You leave, making it to the door before you hear Purr stir. Looking back you can see the following.

“Or you can come with me, old friend.”

All the masks that Ruin has had over the 50 years of his life could be chipped and cut away, and you could use the rings to date his aged soul like a tree stump, and at the very center you would find the rotting form of the Eclipse he used to be at the very start of it all.

Boy would be cocky af. He was nervous up until the point that he saw you were as excited to meet him as he was to meet you. Hi everyone a quick backstory to give a little context: I've been a lurker on this sub for a long time, mainly because I thought it would give me the answers to how to start my own project or venture. (Un)Fortunately, it didn't. However, after a long time I finally realised a common theme. Almost every person posting here about their successful or unsuccessful businesses, projects, ventures, etc. didn't start with an over ambitious vision to start the next Facebook, Uber or Xero, which is what I was wasting an enormous time every. single. day. dreaming about. So I wanted to write this post for the people like myself, to try and give something back in the form of motivation to the community that was a significant motivating factor for me. Disclaimer: rambling ahead.So let's cut back to the beginning of June. Where I was standing in a beach carpark after a surf, complaining to my best mate about the insane cost of surfing equipment. Fast forward a couple days, and he calls me and asks me what I think about starting a business that aims at undercutting the exorbitant prices of major surf brands. Given that we are both relatively well informed about the niche, culture and fashion surrounding surf equipment and apparel, we thought that this was our best chance at starting a venture in a field where we have a passion as well as a void that we believe can be filled.Following the phone call, we sat on the concept for a while. What should we name it? Can we compete with other local brands? How do we differentiate it? Who's our target market? Where and how do we source our products? You get it, all the basic considerations. Now bear with me when I say this (I know the point of this post is to explain the doing), but we spent close to the next month just brainstorming and consolidating ideas about the basic business plan and model.Cut again to the beginning of July and we have mapped out enough of a business plan to understand how to mobilise our vision. The key details included the name, logo, business 'aesthetic', our product line at launch and plan for future releases and our strategy for gaining a following. It is important to note that being two, average 19 year olds means that we had a very small amount of capital to kickstart and so we looked to save costs in every area possible.Over the next month, we spent countless hours hustling with suppliers to purchase our 'launch' product line at the best price possible, established a Shopify store and website hosting, prepared our social network accounts, registered the partnership and business name legally, gathered every social connection we could to promote our brand either for free or for a small gift and took as much advice from any information source available to us. We made a major brand decision to incorporate an environmentally sustainable aspect into our brand image and marketing plan; which was to donate 10% of our profits to a nominated whale conservation strategy. Once we finalised all of these decisions, we set a launch date. August 24 2018.Now obviously there is a million and one decisions and lessons I could talk about between that already lengthy explanation of why I'm here. But the truth is, we launched our business 2 days ago; we've learned something, but it's only a fraction of what any long term business owner or entrepreneur would have in terms of knowledge - so I'm not here to act the oracle of wisdom on entrepreneurial experience or knowledge because quite frankly, I know nothing.The purpose of that outline was to show any wantrepreneur like myself that the process of starting isn't quick; even to start a project that is as small and simple in scale as ours is.Unless you are an incredibly unlikely outlier, you won't wake up in the morning with a revolutionary idea. And that's fine. Imagine the pressure of actually waking up with a revolutionary idea; I've not got the life skills or hard skills to act on it and so it would remain just that. A revolutionary idea.But if you lurk this sub and wish you could start your own real side project; then do it. Figure out what frustrates you or other people. What's disproportionately expensive in your life? What simple appliance drives you up the wall because of its poor design? What small thing makes your life so much easier that other people have never heard of?If you can work that out, congratulations; that's the arguably the hardest part done. But you still only have an idea, and that's where I got stuck hundreds of times over before I launched this project.Write it down and then gradually expand it out. While you should be 'doing', you shouldn't be rushing. Brainstorm names, logos, concepts for products then save them all and ask for feedback from anyone who can give relevant ideas to you and continue to develop them. What I realised is that those processes are the doing, the selling products, the flashy website, the posting on instagram and facebook; that's the outcome.And there's no rush to the doing, as long as you are doing something. If all you do is write down two potential business names and draw out a logo in one day, great. I'm sure that most people would consider that as unproductive or even a failure, but if you're working either alone or as a partnership, it will add up. I'm sure we could have launched our business in 3 or 4 weeks if we had have committed every waking moment to doing so; but the fact is that as inexperienced, impatient newbies, doing so would have been overwhelming and killed motivation. Instead, the aggregate of doing the small tasks spread out across a wide time-span, eventually produced an outcome that we were happy with.As we compiled more and more of the small operational functions together, the bigger picture of the outcomes became more clear - and as a result, we slowly began to work more and more to make the outcomes a reality. Think of it as a cycle or equation whereby your motivation is actually directly proportional to the product or sum of the small tasks you perform.And has that approach been successful for our business?Well given that we launched two days ago, who knows.Have we met the sales, reach and timeline goals that we established ourselves for our launch? Then yes, we exceeded them.Have we succeeded in our original vision to compete in the surfing industry and compete with multinational brands? Absolutely not even close.Will the business survive and flourish? Well we'll do everything in our power to make that happen, but if it turns out to fail; we'll take the things we learned that I've tried to share here and apply them to the next thing.Anyway, that's enough rambling from me for a post that may not ever even get read by more than 5 people, but I hope that someone in the same headspace as I was can find some useful thought in all of that. TL;DR: Just act on something. Like I don't think I can stress this enough. Jack is a deeply sad character!!! Jack was made to be a weapon, but he was immediately made obsolete because Solar didn't bother to fine-tune him! He immediately failed his only purpose because of forces outside his control!

And then that's not even getting into how everyone, minus Dazzle, kinda Moon, and only recently Solar even started seeing Jack as like. a person. and not a force of nature or some rambunctious little thing. Which is like ahaha very silly right!!! But then you think about how Jack told Solar and Nebula that he doesn't feel like he can be himself anywhere except inside his own head and it's like ohhhh that's a little fucked up actually!!!!

Jack has admitted he does this shit because he is just god-awfully bored!!! He craves something to do, he's a fighting bot with nothing to fight—no purpose to fulfill!!! So he just!!! Does shit!!!!! Do you hear me?!?!!!?? Jack is so funny until you think about him too long and then everything ties together and it makes me want to bawl!!!!!!!!

No but actually if I can stand on my little soap box here for a moment. This post is genuinely deeply what happened to Lunar and I have feelings about that.

Except, I have both actual blorboing thoughts and also meta thoughts about how that mindset may have influenced the choice of Lunar's sendoff and how it explains why people were so proud of Lunar for running themselves through the machine that gave them panic attacks over and over.

Lunar was basically conditioned to feel like they're basically less than dirt, to feel like they're inherently unlovable to the core because they hurt Earth. They were put in the mind grinder and then Moon would randomly guilt trip them here and there. They got used to hating themselves because they became a "bad person" who doesn't deserve good things–a fucked up mentality is something Pollux has pointed out!! She's mentioned twice that she feels like Lunar hasn't actually "healed", they just ran themselves deeper into self hatred.

Because that's the thing!! Lunar never got better!! Lunar made some big strides, yes, but they ultimately ended up throwing it all away because they're serving an astral court that will kill them if they ever backslide like that again. They do not have the room to heal and they never will again! So, what's Lunar's old reliable method? You guessed it!!! Masking and repressing it all!!!!!!

So they're out there hiding their feelings again and they're being told it's the basically the Morally Good Thing to do after they hurt Earth. This was an idea pushed both by the family (I still have a burning rage over everything old Moon told them) AND BY THE FANDOM.

Comments encouraged Lunar to go in the mind grinder and were even proud they were "taking initiative." Posts were made about how entirely irreedeemable Lunar is now and how they don't deserve to be with the family anymore.

People encouraged Lunar to punish themselves for their mistakes–to the Correct and Good thing afterwards–rather than give them kindness and patience and proper healing.

Head in hands. Not like they would have found a good support system outside of maybe Sun but. Ugh. That's another post. It just fucks me up man... No one told them that they aren't inherently bad or unlovable because they made a horrible mistake. No one told them they still deserve basic kindness and consideration. No one told them they're still a person at the end of the day.

I'm finally catching up on a month's worth of tsams and the "can moon save sun from nexus?" ep has been rlly interesting so far but also. The way Moon said that Sun could literally push Nexus down and bury them as a form of supression has given me the absolutely most devastating mental image of just...

Sun shaking and sobbing as he quite literally frantically buries Nexus alive in his mindscape.

The dirt is all muddy from the rain and it cakes between the joints of his fingers and while his internal digital avatar isn't stopped by the blockage, it only makes him feel even more filthy as he desperately claws dirt up from the ground to bury Nexus in.

Moon is trying to help how he can but he hovers around more than anything, watching his brother sob and wail as he literally buries Nexus in his mind. And Nexus fights back. They squirm and slash at Sun and they growl and taunt and they are fighting more to be remembered than they did to stay alive and it makes Sun feel horrible.

And it'd end quietly with little fanfare. The more Sun buried Nexus, the less they'd squirm, and the less Sun would cry. Their body would be submerged nearly entirely in the earth of Sun's headspace and that would be it. That's a wrap. And they'd exit Sun's mind together.
