nie huaisang does a LOT for a dude who refuses nearly always to carry a real weapon even when surrounded by murderous hoards of puppets and literally a murderous clan holding him prisoner, who really mainly just prioritizes the simple things in life like gossiping about hot guys with his bros n partying n getting ppl to give him nice things

WHY #then when older bro nie dies? last straw #meng yao pretty much was an adopted raised bro in teens with huaisang - and hows it end?#with the guy ruining haisang's whole family!#its a great parallel to wuxian/jiang cheng - also friends-raised-like-brothers #wuxian ALSO is indirectly the cause of cheng's family dying. and cheng loses freaking EVERYONE #but the key difference is meng yao was maliciously purposely destroying his family #wei wuxian didnt want any of those tragedies to happen - even if him picking to 'save' some of wen clan DID definitely #eventually lead to deaths he caused.#the paralleling and foiling stories and characters in the untamed/mdzs is really really Well laid out
