X (formerly Twitter) has introduced XChat, a fully encrypted messaging feature with disappearing messages, file sharing, and audio/video calls—without requiring phone numbers. Built in Rust and using “Bitcoin‑style” encryption, XChat is being beta-tested by X Premium users as part of Musk’s plan to turn X into an all‑in‑one super app.
