The Straight Dope On Galaxy’s Edge
I went to Disneyland Aug. 7-10 for my birthday because where else would I rather be than in the GFFA?
It’s amazing!  It’s like a Ralph McQuarrie painting come to life.  Even though it is “set” during the ST, it tries to have a little bit of something for every Star Wars fan.  And maybe even for your friends and family who aren’t into it as much as you are.
Tumblr media
Don’t believe the hype that it’s not doing well.  Disneyland has had annual passholder blackout dates to keep attendance below crazy levels and while overall attendance is down 3% (probably due to fears of massive crowds as well as higher ticket prices),  I can safely tell you that there was a great deal of interest in Galaxy’s Edge by attendees.  On Thursday and Saturday, everyone made a beeline for it just as the park opened in the morning.  I was doing the Griswold family dash to Wally World myself, power walking the best my middle aged/out-of-shape self could as kids and teenagers went past me.  Requiring reservations for Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop (where you build the lightsabers) prevented hellacious hours-long lines for those attractions.  Smuggler’s Run has had waits as long as three hours over the course of the summer.  It reached its 1 millionth rider in mid-July.  On Thursday, the longest I wait I saw was 80 or 90 minutes and that was on a weekday blackout date.  The section of the park was busy both Thursday and Saturday mornings.  For what it’s worth, it seemed like half the people at Disneyland overall had some kind of Star Wars t-shirt on.  It was like a Celebration with rides.
Attendance isn’t the only metric.  What really matters is whether people are spending money there and I can vouch that people were buying.  The lightsabers are $200 a pop alone.  There were merchandise I wanted to get but weren’t available, such as the japor snippet necklace and the Rey vest (sizes XS-L were sold out).  White kyber crystals are still sold out.  I saw signs everywhere limiting certain items to one per person.  People were packing the cantina and all of them got drinks.  Ronto’s Roasters did pretty steady business.
Just bear in mind that parks play the long game and it probably serves Disney’s long term interests to allow paying attendees and not just local APs the chance to experience Galaxy’s Edge.  Hell crowds would just make people angry they spent all of that money and couldn’t see or do a thing.
Now, here’s where I’m going to dish some advice to those of you who are planning to go either to the one in Anaheim or at WDW.  The WDW version is at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so some of this won’t apply to the Mouse House East but I think a lot of it will.
Tip #1--Your best bet is on a weekday, first thing in the morning as the park opens.  If it’s an AP blackout date, that’s even better.  Remember, Disney is like con...you don’t come to sleep.
Tip #2--Stay at a Disney hotel to take advantage of Magic Hour.  I know, I know, they’re $$$ while there are many cheaper alternatives but if you really want to beat the crowds this is the way to do it.  Galaxy’s Edge will not be accessible during Magic Hour (at DL it’s just Fantasyland that’s open) but you can start lining up at the ropes in front of Frontierland and Adventureland.  While GE at DL has three entrances, they will send you the looong way through New Orleans Square and Critter Country when the park fully opens.  If you’re at WDW, stay at the Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, or Pop Century resorts...they’re the ones closest to Hollywood Studios though you’ll still have to take the Disney bus to get there.  (The Swan and the Dolphin are on Disney property but are NOT Disney resort hotels, so no Magic Hour.)
Another perk to staying at a Disney hotel now is that as part of our travel package we all got free exclusive Galaxy’s Edge lanyards with a pin!
Tip #3--Ladies...I think with the exception of the First Order boutique and the cosplay items, I liked the a lot of t-shirts and stuff for kids more than the ones for adults!  So if you are on the small side, you might be able to fit in the bigger kids’ wear.  For instance I got a great Black Spire hoodie for $40 at Jewels of Bith...the adult hoodie was like 20 bucks more.  My mom liked it so much she got one for herself and my niece.  Note:  the merch you buy inside GE don’t say “Galaxy’s Edge” or have Star Wars logos.  If you want those, you’ll have to buy them in the regular Disney stores.
Tip #4--Oga’s Cantina.  Reservations are required so as soon as you plan your trip, go on the DL/WDW app and reserve right away.  I think now you can reserve up to 60 days in advance...if not, definitely 14 days in advance.  You are NOT guaranteed a seat.  You are given an area to hang out in (at the bar, at a table, or at a booth) and you are to remain there.  You can’t run and grab a booth for instance if a party leaves.  Your limit is 45 minutes and two drinks.  I will say though that service is fast (I guess most drinks are pre-mixed) and in our case, we didn’t even need to stay the entire 45 minutes.  I got the Cliff Dweller (I don’t drink) while my brother got whatever they call the beer and my dad got the teal-colored “white” wine.  My older niece got the blue milk with the Bantha cookie.  She gave rave reviews for both.  The younger niece got the stuff that came from the creature tank.  It sounds gross but she liked it.  There are no restrooms inside the cantina btw.
Tumblr media
Tip #5--Savi’s Workshop.  Again, reservations are required and they should be made as soon as possible.  The lightsabers are $199 and you pay when you check in.  The day I went they were running behind, so while my reservation was at 3:00, I didn’t actually get in the building until like 3:30.  The process takes about 20 minutes.  You are ushered into a shop and there’s a whole narrative and everything.  The “gatherers” have harvested scrap metal and kyber crystals and crafted lightsaber parts.  Based on the “theme” you selected at check in (stuff like “power and control” or “peace and justice”) you are given trays with parts to choose from and a crystal (blue, green, purple, or red).  Your guides are in character and sometimes it’s all earnest af, but then again so are the movies.  I found it surprisingly easy to put these together.  The “gatherers” put the blade in for you then you step forward, turn on the switch, and yay, you got a new lightsaber!  You get to wave them in the air and stuff.  On the way out you are given a free sheath bag to put it in.  If you don’t want to lug your new lightsaber on a plane or have to check it in, you can have it shipped home for $17 at the First Order boutique (though I don’t know if other stores will do it for you too).
Tumblr media
Tip #6--Smugglers’ Run.  The best time to go on the ride, since to date there are no fastpasses, is right when the park opens.  Thursday morning at 8:10 a.m. had the shortest wait, 15 minutes but I pretty much walked right onto the ride.  The next best option is going single rider, which is what my brother and I did the second time we went on it.  It was about half the regular wait time.  Have your camera ready to get that chess table photo op because you will get called right away for your “boarding group” (assigned with a color).  Two pilot, two shoot, two “engineer.”  The light up buttons make it easy to figure out what you have to do but accuracy is tough.  I piloted the first time, shot the second time.  The good news is I did not crash either time.  Which is miraculous.
Tumblr media
Tip #7--Other food and drink.  Unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity to eat at Docking Bay 7 or Ronto Rosters.  I’m told the breakfast wrap at Ronto Roasters is phenomenal.  Don’t expect typical Disney fare in Galaxy’s Edge; the closest it comes is the Star Wars popcorn.  No galactic churros or Mickey ice cream pops here.  In fact an in-character cast member and Chewbacca were really curious about our churros when we went into Galaxy’s Edge on Saturday.  My younger niece even tried to give Chewie a piece to try, LOL.  What you can get is blue milk and green milk.  We got one of each on Thursday to try.  Both were better than the notoriously sweet butterbeers at Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  Tasty and refreshing on a hot day.  But I kinda think we all leaned more toward the blue milk.  In fact the nieces insisted on another round of blue milk when we returned on Saturday.  You can get the Aurebesh label soda and water at a variety of stands and at Docking Bay 7.  (Maybe Ronto Roasters too.)  They’re pricey but everything at Disney is 30-50% more expensive than they would be anywhere else.  And the Aurebesh bottles make for low cost souvenirs.
Tumblr media
Tip #8--Characters.  Chewbacca and FO stormtroopers were around quite a bit.  I saw Vi Moradi twice and Kylo a couple of times (Chewie and Kylo get treated like rock stars), but I totally missed Rey.  My parents saw her though.  Characters here do NOT sign autographs, something my nieces found out the hard way when they tried to get them from stormtroopers.  LOL.
Tip #8--Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.  This is where you buy your holocrons and loose kyber crystals (only with purchase of a holocron).  They were still out of white crystals so I bought a red one.  When you put a red crystal in your Jedi holocron, Yoda warns you about the dark side.  Bonus:  the kyber crystals you buy here can be put in your lightsaber from Savi’s Workshop.  So if you buy both a holocron and a lightsaber, make sure you get a different color crystal for each so you can switch them around!  Here you’ll find a lot of Jedi cosplay, Leia cosplay, and the headdress Padme used in AOTC as part of her peasant disguise, among other goodies.  The stained glass portraits of Leia and Queen Amidala were stunning but they were kinda big and 95 bucks apiece.  They had a set of ceramic busts of everyone’s favorite mother-daughter duo for $55 but I didn’t feel like lugging those around at the time.  For older Star Wars fans, this is probably going to be your favorite store.
Tip #9--Other merchandise/shopping.  The First Order boutique is located right next to Kylo’s parked shuttle and across from the “milk” stand.  The Resistance has two carts at the entrance in front of the (unopened) Rise of the Resistance ride.  I kinda like that the underground Resistance is on the “outskirts” of the outpost while the conquering FO is right there in the center of town.  Makes sense for the narrative.  Savi’s and the store where you can build a droid (no reservation necessary...this was a hit with kids) are next to each other.  Everything else is in the marketplace in a series of smallish stalls.  Keep an eye out because nobody has signs.  (Note:  layout might be slightly different at WDW.)
Tip #10--Wear a hat and sunscreen.  The marketplace is the only area in GE with shade.  The rest of it is out in the sun, so be prepared because in CA it’s easy to get a sunburn and in FL, it’s easier still.  Bring a rain poncho if you’re at WDW because of those hit and run thunderstorms.
Tip #11-- You don’t have to be a passive tourist.  Some cast members get into it more than others but you’ll get more out of Galaxy’s Edge if you play along.  As Star Wars fans, you’ll get the lingo (for instance they do call kids “younglings” and talk about money as credits) so that’s no problem.  When you’re inside of Galaxy’s Edge you can go on the DL/WDW app and activate your “datapad” and scan stuff at various locations.  My brother did this with his phone while we were poking around and you can earn rankings and stuff within the different factions.
Overall I think what Galaxy’s Edge is now is just the beginning.  Rise of the Resistance opens this winter at both parks and from what I’ve heard, more attractions and shows are in the works.  Personally, I’d love a hair braiding station where you can get your hair done like Leia or Rey or Battle of Geonosis Padme since that’s probably her easiest style!  I want a Reylo night time show!  But it’s absolutely worth visiting as it is.  You can easily spend half the day or longer there, depending on how much you want to do.  Few Star Wars or Disney experiences will ever top entering Galaxy’s Edge, huffing and puffing from having to go up and down hills, hearing the music over the loudspeakers and the cast members and various characters coming out to wave hello to everyone.  Even the stormtroopers.  I felt like I’d just finished the Batuu 5K!  And then seeing everyone gawk at the Millennium Falcon in front of Smuggler’s Run.

Hidden Secrets in Las Vegas for Tourists
Tumblr media
In Vegas, no one sleeps since restaurants, bars and nightclubs are all within walking distance. Even 24 hours in Vegas is not enough time. There is so much to do in Vegas, and you don't have to wait until the sun rises to find it all. If you have been to Vegas before, are interested in trying something different, or just curious about the inner workings of Sin City, you've come to the right place. These are some tips and tricks that every local knows.
CLUB HOPPING ON THE LAS VEGAS STRIP
The Wynn Casino's XS Nightclub is the one Vegas club that you must visit. You will regret it if you don't get to visit XS Nightclub. It is a good idea to get in touch with a promoter of a nightclub. There are many promoters that you can meet on the streets of Las Vegas. They are known for their three-piece suits and for handing out wristbands and cards to promote their free limo rides and bottle service. You've probably been to Vegas and know who I am talking about. Although they might seem a bit shady, as a local I can assure you that these workers are legitimate. Club promoters don't look like the street hustlers or swindlers that they appear to be. These promoters are actually paid by casinos to get people into their clubs. It is illegal to solicit on Las Vegas Strip. So, how can these promoters get away with it? Who do you think runs the city? Las Vegas Strip Casinos! These promoters are willing to bargain with you, give them a tip, and you'll get discounts on almost everything. All you need to do to get VIP service is ask.
It is becoming more common to know that the 2:1 ratio is the norm. To increase your chances of getting into the club, you need to have at least two women for every one man. This information can be used to your advantage. Club promoters may be able to hook you up even more if your club can follow this rule.
WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO IN VEGAS?
Las Vegas is not just about nightclubs. There are many activities to choose from in this city of lights. You should check out the Encore Beach Club pool party on Las Vegas Strip. Club promoters are your best bet for bottle service and discounted entry.
You could also take a helicopter ride to Grand Canyon SkyWalk and walk the two-hour journey. As you hover 500 feet above the Canyon's base, the transparent floor allows you to feel like floating. You don't have to fly all the way from Arizona. Instead, you can hover in a helicopter over Las Vegas Strip while sipping champagne. All of this can be found on Las Vegas Boulevard.
If you want to support the economy or shop but are tight on cash, the Premium Outlets in downtown Las Vegas is the place for you. You won't find the same items anywhere else and they have the largest selection. The Premium Outlets mall is right on the edge downtown of Downtown Vegas, where you can find cheap cocktails and table games with a $5 minimum play.
There are also plenty of exhibits and crafts to visit and purchase too. Some people may consider them junk, but there are some beautiful works of art available in the city.

A subscription box cynic reviews the new Sunday Riley box
A subscription box cynic reviews the new Sunday Riley box
Tumblr media
Let's be real, the idea of a brand-new subscription box can sound boring as hell. Since the birth of the subscription service trend, we've tried them all, from the O.G. Birchbox, to zodiac-themed boxes, to subscriptions for our fur children. Most of the time, the contents are uninspired, whether it's products you'd never use in your life or travel-size items that don't justify the monthly cost. I haven't signed up for a subscription box in years because of this. Usually when I hear about a new one, I can't help but scream, “BORING!” At this point, the only subscription I know I'll never regret is a wine club. But when I heard about Sunday Riley coming out with its own subscription box, I felt my ears perk up. It is Sunday Riley, after all. ICONIC.
Whether or not you're skin care-obsessed or just a casual beauty consumer, chances are you're familiar with the name Sunday Riley. The brand is synonymous with aspirational skin care-it's pricier than what the average beauty lover wants to spend, but piques interest because so many people swear by its products. In fact, celebrities such as Julianne Moore, Victoria Beckham, and Jourdan Dunn are all fans. Good Genes, the exfoliating lactic acid treatment, is a cult favorite despite its stinging sensation, unattractive scent, and $100+ price tag. The fact that such a beloved skin care brand launched its own subscription service is something that can't be overlooked. So when the peeps at Sunday Riley offered to send be a box to review, I thought, why the hell not?
The lowdown:
Tumblr media
Courtesy of Sunday Riley
Sunday Riley's first-ever subscription box is called The Wellness Box. It focuses on products that are geared towards not just physical beauty, but mental and energetic wellness. So aside from beauty products, you'll also get supplements, crystals, and a meditation app subscription.
The contents are as follows: Sunday Riley Good Genes (15 ml), Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip (30 ml), Thinx Hiphugger, bkr Bottle, IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Air Dry Styler (1.7 oz), Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Kundalini Hustle, WelleCo Super Elixir 7-Day Supply, a free month of the Headspace App, Kitsch Cleanse Ritual Collection Microfiber Hair Towel, Clear Your Space, Clear Your Mind Kit, and a Sunday Riley Travel Cosmetic Bag. The total worth of the box is $300, but you get it for $95. You can choose to purchase alone or sign up for an annual subscription for $380 (there are no discounts if you sign up annually, though I feel there should at LEAST be $20 off or something ).
First thoughts:
Tumblr media
Marie Lodi / HelloGiggles
Honestly, when I first opened the box I was immediately impressed. My eyes shot to a Smith & Cult nail polish and a BKR water bottle. I knew we were getting into something good. These are high-end items, so Sunday Riley did NOT skimp.
Standout faves:
Sunday Riley Good Genes and Ceramic Slip

I gotta start off with the actual brand, OBVI. Now, I've used Good Genes and love it, though it takes a minute to get used to the smell and sensation (Disclaimer: I don't really have sensitive skin, so if you do, you might want to use this with caution). I haven't used a Sunday Riley cleanser, though, so I was excited to try Ceramic Slip. It will take a minute to figure out whether Ceramic Slip will be in my usual rotation, but so far, it's a pretty decent cleanser.
Smith & Cult Nailed Lacquer in Kundalini Hustle

I love, love this polish brand. The fact that there's a full-size bottle in a nice, rich, red shade brought me joy.
One free month of Headspace

I've been super curious to try Headspace forever, so it's cool that they have this in there. Can't wait to quiet this wild mind!
Kitsch Cleanse Ritual Collection Microfiber Hair Towel

I love me a towel head wrap, and this one is so cute (and usually costs $23). Imagine the #maskmonday selfies.
Clear Your Space, Clear Your Mind Kit ( includes Palo Santo and two crystal tower points in Obsidian and Rainbow Fluorite)

As someone who works with crystals on the reg, I was pleased to see the size of these points. Obsidian is good for protection against negative energy (be gone, haters) and Flourite is amazing for creativity (I use it when I'm writing). In other boxes I've gotten that included crystals they've been teeny tiny nugs, so the fact that this comes with two good-sized points is impressive. Elsewhere, these sizes of crystals can cost you $20 and a little upwards, if you're lucky.

Everyone I know who uses these period panties swears by them, so I've been dying to try a pair. Unfortunately the one included in the box I got wasn't my size, but you can choose your size (XS-3XL) when you order. These usually cost $34.

You cannot go wrong with a bkr bottle. These are so handy, and cost $38 on their own. If you don't own one already, you're going to be happy you got one. Let's hydrate, queens!
Final thoughts:
I thought pretty much everything in this box was legit. Almost everyone can benefit from these products, though of course, it all comes down to personal preference. If you're already a Sunday Riley fan, you'll enjoy it, and if you're a newb, this is a good way to try their products while getting a shitton of other stuff as well. Upcoming Sunday Riley subscription box themes will be geared towards athleisure and travel. I'm actually really curious to see how those will look-if the contents will be anything like the Wellness Box, they're probably going to be bomb.

Dinner parties are one of my favorite ways to spend an evening. I love everything about them, including the planning, and I pay attention when I go to great parties so that I can improve my own. Once I was at a party with indoor and outdoor seating, and everywhere were these huge trays of minimeals—noodles and vegetables, salads, steak cut super thin. Everything was delicious. And it all felt informal and easy. Everyone was relaxed and happy, flitting around trying all these delicious foods and then lounging, chatting happily with their new friends. I took notes!
Of course, the first step to having your own party is to figure out who to invite. It’s key to get a nice, enlivening mix of folks. I always have to fight the temptation to reinvite the same gang who made for the last fun party. I’ll think, ‘That mix worked great, and it was a Friday night . . . I know, I’ll have the same people over again on another Friday!’
But you can’t have the same party twice. It’s never the same. Plus, unexpected surprises are part of the fun of hosting. You can’t rehash the same party theme or compare this year’s Christmas party to those of years past. You have to think of each new party as an opportunity to make new memories.
I tend to invite people who have something in common or know some of the same people, and I try to have a good mix of single friends and couples. Always invite at least one single friend! It makes conversation more lively. You also need a ringer or two, people who really know how to make things fun. I have a couple of friends who are my go-to guests, great people to keep the party hopping, like my friend Howell. Howell is from Nashville and can talk to anybody about anything for at least three hours—and have the best time doing it. I call him my all-purpose guest. He can chat just as delightfully with a five-year-old as an eighty-five-year-old.
When it comes to invites, I check people’s availability at least two weeks in advance, because people are really busy nowadays. When I get a time when everybody can come—and I usually go for a Saturday night, because people tend to be too tired on Friday after working all week—then I try to get everyone to confirm.
Now, this is my little public service announcement: If you get invited to something, it’s incumbent upon you to RSVP as soon as possible. A quick “no” is better than a long “maybe.” People go to a lot of trouble to plan a party, and it’s a big deal to open your home. What’s more, it’s essential to show up if you say you will. I have a busy life, but I still don’t cancel unless it’s a superduper emergency—I’m talking a hospital-visit, in-the-newspapers-the-next-day emergency. Being tired just isn’t a good enough excuse. C’mon! Make an effort!
One trick I use to determine whether or not to say yes to an invite is: Would I want to go right then and there? If the party were that second, would I get dressed and rush out of the house to go to the party? If the answer is yes, I probably do want to go, but if the answer is no, I don’t accept the invitation.
Once I know who’s coming to dinner, I start to think about food on the Wednesday before a Saturday party. I do shopping and prepping on Friday. I’ll get fresh produce, some good bread, almonds, and olives, and I’ll prep as much as I can. In my experience, it’s particularly nice to prepare a special meal in honor of someone—such as gumbo for a person from New Orleans or catfish for a friend from South Carolina.
A lot of people have moral or religious or health-based dietary restrictions, and a lot of people are just plain picky. That’s why I always include at least two dishes that are vegetarian, so no one feels left out and we don’t have to make a big deal out of it. They can just skip the meat and have the salad and vegetables, and no one even notices. In addition, I usually send out an email the night before, asking about allergies. That way, when I’m cooking I can keep the nuts or shellfish or whatever it is separate from everything else if need be.
Early on the day of the party, I’ll set the table, with the glasses and everything, because I hate stressing at the last minute about things I can do anytime.
Cooking a big meal is all about the timing. I will look at everything I’m cooking and figure it out like a math problem, what needs to go in the oven when. If you’re cooking or roasting chickens or potatoes, you know it will take a while. Start that bird first!
I often buy dessert, because making a cake in addition to a whole dinner is pretty intense, and I feel it doesn’t usually add so much. I’ll buy a cake, or I’ll just make something really simple, with store-bought ingredients.
When people arrive, the first thing I do is make sure they have a drink. You have to be mindful if someone doesn’t drink alcohol and have soda or seltzer for him or her. I usually have a nonalcoholic option like club soda with fresh-squeezed juice and a fun garnish such as lavender sprigs or fresh mint. A fake cocktail can be delicious and festive, and it’s more cheerful than a glass of water or a can of Coke.
For the drinkers, I always have red and white wine available, and a full bar. These days, it seems that the most popular liquors are vodka and tequila, so I make sure I’m stocked with those at the very least.
I make sure there’s something for people to snack on as soon as they arrive, because I’ve found most people show up really hungry at the 7 p.m. start time. You don’t want them all twitchy waiting for dinner to be served. I always set out cheese and bread, olives, hummus and crudités, or rice crackers - I love rice crackers.
At eight, once everyone’s had some drinks and snacks and settled in, I announce dinner, and we go sit at the table. I’m very proud of my dinner bell. It’s a pretty brass one I found at a thrift store ages ago.
Dorothea’s Seven Hostess Tips
My grandmother loved throwing dinner parties, and she was amazing at it. When I throw parties, I try to emulate her style. Here are some of the things she did that I try to do, too.
1. Invite people of different ages and backgrounds to make conversation more interesting.
2. Send invites (or save-the-dates) at least two weeks in advance.
3. Do as much in advance as possible (setting the table, prepping the food).
4. Decorate with fresh flowers and unscented candles.
5. Have a fully stocked bar, as well as lots of ice and sweet tea, and both red and white wine for cocktail hour and dinner. Keep everyone’s glasses full.
6. Serve dinner about one hour after the start time on the invitation.
7. Put on Louis Prima or Ella Fitzgerald and let the party begin!
Dinner parties usually follow a predictable arc. As everyone eats and talks and drinks, they get more enthusiastic and louder. Then people start getting tired, and usually the whole thing is wrapped up by 11:30 p.m. or midnight.
Ideally, that is. I’ve found that sometimes it’s hard, especially when it’s a fun party, to get people to know when to call it a night. Once I invited a couple I didn’t know very well over for a brunch party with eight or so people. We had a lovely time. At around 2 p.m., everyone had gone except that one couple. They wanted to swim. Why not? Sure! So they stayed and swam. Then it was late afternoon, and they asked, “Do you have anything we can eat?”
Bold move, but not problem. I put out snacks. Snacks turned into dinner. Dinner turned into after-dinner drinks. I began to think ‘What do I do?’ They were very nice. But I started to think, These people are never going to leave. Maybe they just live with me now.’
It had been a really fun day. But I hadn’t planned on those last several hours. I had to make dinner out of nothing. Fortunately, I found some chicken and sausages and vegetables in the fridge and roasted all that together the way a girlfriend taught me. You end up with a lot of food, and you can just serve a salad with it.
Dorothea’s Seven Guest Tips
1. RSVP promptly. Everyone’s time is valuable, and it’s no joke to organize a party.
2. When in doubt about how fancy it is, dress up. Better overdressed than underdressed!
3. Bring something. You can’t go wrong with a bottle of wine.
4. Introduce yourself to everyone you meet—first and last name, please—even if you think they should know you already. And try to talk to everyone, especially anyone who seems a little lost or left out.
5. Offer to help the hosts carry trays, set out water, clear, or whatever else needs doing. Even if she says no, it’s nice to offer.
6. Leave at a reasonable hour. Never be the last person to leave a party. This is hard for southern ladies, because we’re taught to shake everyone’s hand and wish them a warm goodbye and thank them for the delicious meal and say how fun it was to see them and so on and so forth . . . It’s like the opposite of what they call an Irish goodbye or French exit. A proper southern goodbye can take hours.
7. To show you appreciate the hospitality, send a quick, genuine thank-you the next day—by phone, email, or, even better, handwritten note—and offer to reciprocate!
Happy Dining! Love, Charlotte

Saudi Arabia Energy Drink Market to Witness Steady Growth till 2026 | TechSci Research
Rise in adoption of western culture and the growing youth population is expected to drive the demand for Saudi Arabia Energy Drink market in the forecast period.
Tumblr media
According to TechSci Research report, “Saudi Arabia Energy Drink Market By Type (Sugar Vs Non-Sugar) By Packaging (Bottle, Can, Others) By Distribution Channel (Offline, Online), By Region, Company Forecast & Opportunities, 2026”, the Saudi Arabia Energy Drink market is expected to grow at a steady rate in the forecast period. The rise in consumer awareness regarding health and physical fitness coupled with the growing adoption of a sedentary and hectic lifestyle is expected to fuel the energy drink market growth. The high demand for energy drinks after physically energy-consuming activities as the energy drinks aids in providing instant mental and physical alertness and provide instant energy is expected to accelerate the demand for the energy drinks market in the forecast period.
The consumption of energy drinks has turned into a status symbol and a majority of the youth population especially males are consuming energy drinks on a large scale. The energy drink beverages with high caffeine content are gaining popularity among the consumers as alcohol is banned in Saudi Arabia. Energy drinks advertise energy drinks to be able to reduce mental fatigue, protect heart health and ease the mental process. The availability of energy drinks in hotels, malls, and restaurants is fueling the energy drinks market growth. The rise in consumer behavior towards the adoption of organic foods and beverages is expected to influence the energy drink market demand in the region.
The COVID-19 outbreak across the world which has been declared as a pandemic by World Health Organization has affected several countries adversely. Leading authorities of Saudi Arabia imposed lockdown restrictions and released a set of precautionary measures to contain the spread of novel coronavirus. Manufacturing units were temporarily shut down and the production saw a negative decline during this period. Due to restrictions on import and export and the disruption of the supply chain, the businesses had to suffer huge losses. Shortage of workers in the manufacturing units was observed as the majority of workers moved back to their native places. After, the COVID-19 period and relaxation in the guidelines and rules the market is expected to pick up the pace eventually.
However, the presence of alternative beverages and the adverse effects of caffeine present in the energy drink may pose a challenge to the growth of the Saudi Arabia Energy Drink market.

Also, the non-sugar-based energy drinks are expected to witness growth due to increasing health consciousness among the consumers and the rise in the number of diabetic disorders which is harmful to the human body. Based on packaging, the market can be divided into the bottle, can, and others. The can segment is expected to witness growth in the forecast period due to attractive marketing campaigns and advertisements by the market players to increase the sale of energy cans.

St. Jean Pied de Port to Estelle - 25 May – 1st June 2017
St. Jean Pied de Port to Estelle - 25 May – 1st June 2017
So having done the last section of the Camino last year from Sarria to Santiago, we wanted to sample another section of the camino and where else to start but at the beginning. Mind you there are many versions of the beginning of the Camino Francés but it is widely accepted that St Jean Pied de Port (SJPDP) in the South of France is the official starting point. We flew to Biarritz and arrived around 1pm. Very sunny, warm day. 34 degrees C. The flight had been delayed and then the baggage took ages or rather we were directed to the wrong luggage belt. I was conscious that if we didn’t get the 3pm train for SJPDP from Bayonne that we would have to wait until around 7 for the next one, leaving us late arriving. We also still had to get to Bayonne train station from the airport. I knew that there was a regular bus service to Bayonne that takes about 30 mins. We stood at the bus stop. We waited for ages. Many people left the bus stop and got taxis as the time was getting short to catch the 3pm train. Just as we were thinking of getting a taxi, the bus came along. I think it was €1 each. It seemed to take ages to get to Bayonne. We got there at about 2.50 pm but we still had to run across the road (with luggage) and queue up to buy the train tickets (€10 each). All this time we were talking to Dessie from NI who you could write a book on! I had spent 2 hours on the plane with him and he was a real character. By the time we got the tickets it was 2 mins to departure, to discover that the platform was on the other side, so down the steps with the suitcases and up the steps on the other side. We literally got on the train as it was pulling away. Phew! Got seats and left the luggage in the aisle as the train was full. It took around 1 hour to get to St Jean Pied de Port but it was great to get there.
A wee walk to the town and we found our first accommodation. I was a little worried about it as I found it very hard to get a hotel but anyway it turned out to be dead on and close to the town. The owner was very helpful with good English and told us about how warm it would be tomorrow and how difficult the hike to Roncesvalles would be! He had a strict rule that breakfast was 6.30 am to 7.30 am and you had to be out by 8am! This suited us as we knew it was going to be a long day and we wanted to leave early.
We ate in a restaurant in the town and had a few drinks at the Central Hotel sitting outside. Visited the Express Burricot offices who agreed to transport our luggage every day for the 5 days. They did a deal of around €6.50 per bag per day. It can be as high as €8. On the Sarria/Santiago stretch the fee is only €3 per day. We met Dessie again who had met a Donegal man Andy from Letterkenny. They were staying in a hostel. Dessie had managed to get a private room! We walked around the town. Lovely wee town with plenty bars and restaurants. We went to bed and had a good sleep. Little did we know what lay ahead!
St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles 27 km
We got up early. Breakfast was orange juice, tea/coffee with a fresh bread roll. We left the accommodation at 7.40 am. We knew that the day ahead was going to be tough and a few hours walking before it got too warm was the plan. Everyone agrees that the walk (Napoleon’s Route) across the Pyrenees is very beautiful but quite difficult (there is an alternative route for when the weather is poor via Valcarlos but not recommended in good weather). I was delighted all the same that the sun was shining. I have seen plenty photos and videos of people doing the walk in a heavy mist, therefore missing out on the beautiful scenery.
Shorts and t-shirts. Bags with sun screen, water etc. on our backs and away we went. There is only one stop (café) on the whole 27 km and that is at Orrison after 8km. That first 8 km was hard even though it was largely on tarred roads but the scenery was beautiful. We were there around 9.40 or so.  The sun was very hot, not much shelter from it and we were sweltered. Orrison is a hostel with a café, not a town! We stopped and had a ham roll and coffee. We met Andy who had shook off Dessie somewhere along the way. The views were spectacular. We could see some of the mountains in the distance that were still snow-capped. We continued on and it was mostly climbing. What was a welcome relief was that as we got further up the mountain, a cool breeze helped to cool us down. This was quite noticeable after Orrison. Eventually at 1pm we came to this white van which sold fruit, juice, hard boiled eggs etc. The sign said another 11km to go of which 1 km was up, 5km flat and 5km downhill. Lies! We seemed to climb for ages after the van but it might have been fatigue that made us think this. Mind you when you begin to descend toward Roncesvalles, it is quite tough on the legs because it is so steep, mainly through a forest. We didn’t see many people on this part, maybe some of them opted to go by the road? Anyway, we got to Roncesvalles around 4pm. Met Andy again who was showered and heading out for a wander (these fit people would sicken you!). Checked into Hotel Roncesvalles which is attached to the hostel and used to be a monastery. This hotel was a real treat! The accommodation and food there was excellent. Pilgrims menu (3 courses) including a bottle of the nicest red wine you ever tasted, all for €19 each. All the better when Peggy doesn’t drink wine! We went to mass in the chapel which is part of the same complex and met Dessie and Andy after it. After that, another wee drink at the hotel (outside of course) before bed-time.
 Roncesvalles to Akeretta (29 km)
We had a good breakfast in the restaurant, left our cases as always at reception and headed on our way. I think we were not prepared physically or mentally for the day that lay ahead! In summary we had originally booked a place in Zubiri (which would have been around 22km) but friends of ours recommended strongly to proceed to Hotel Akaretta which was 6.5 km past Zubiri. So we booked into Hotel Akaretta and cancelled Zubiri. I think we were still not fully recovered from the previous day and found it hard going even though the terrain was largely flat. The sun shone again. Like the previous day where we saw a lot of horses, today we also saw large numbers of horses in fields.  We got to Zubiri at about 4.30 pm in the afternoon. My advice to anyone would be to stay in Zubiri. There’s a new place opened there called Casa Txantxorena. It looks really nice. We were booked in there and how we wished we had not cancelled! We went for a snack at a busy café / bar on the corner before heading onwards towards Larrasoana / Akaretta. This went out past the outskirts of a large factory and onwards to Hotel Akaretta. It was 6.30 pm when we arrived! And we were whacked. My left foot was very sore in three places but no blisters. The bags were in the hallway and when we discovered that there was no lift in the 300 year old Hotel Akaretta, this meant that one exhausted person had to carry both 20kg bags upstairs. Thankfully we were only on the 1st floor! The hotel was old and very nice. It was where actor Martin Sheen stayed during the filming of the film “The Way”.
We showered and went to the dining room for dinner at 8pm. Another great value Pilgrim’s menu with really good wine again and the food was excellent. We had time to sit outside for a wee while before it was bed time. This past 3 days I had noticed that the area we were in was clearly Basque Country. The names of have a lot of Xs in them and they have a language of their own. I spoke to the owner a little about the Basque language etc. It was also noticeable yesterday that when we crossed from France into Spain there was no evident border. Just a large stone stating “Navarra”. They treat the entire region as one country. We noticed these fine big birds flying around and we were told they are buzzards.
 Akaretta to Pamplona (16km)
I was a bit excited today because today we were heading for Pamplona. I was in Pamplona before back in the early 1980s when I just finished in college, so at least 34 years ago. For the record, I was accompanied on that occasion for the San Fermin festival by Aodh O Donnell (Stranakirka), Brian MacNamee (Kilcurry, Louth) and Declan McCarthy (Cavan) and we stayed at the home of the lovely family of a friend of ours, a Pamplona native, Ana Otaegi.
Back now in 2017, we ate a lovely breakfast. (I’m getting used to having coffee, cheese and bread for breakfast in the mornings). Because of the extra piece we walked yesterday, todays’ walk was a short distance and very pleasant. We seemed to be walking through fields of crops for the most part but it was beautiful. A beautiful sunny day. We stopped at a café/bar in a town on the outskirts of Pamplona. Very nice. People were enjoying their Sunday afternoon walking about. We reached Pamplona shortly afterwards and discovered that the hotel was near the side of the city we came into. We rested for a while and then went for a walk around the town. We had a meal in a restaurant near the Town Hall but it wasn’t great. We also did some research on buses to the next town as the feet were sore and the limbs were weary from the first three days! We discovered that there was a bus to the next village Puenta la Reina quite regularly from the bus station which was not too far from the hotel. Also the forecast for tomorrow wasn’t very good so tomorrow was officially designated as a “rest-day” and for taking in the sights of Pamplona! Best decision ever!
Pamplona to Peunta la Reina (24 km by bus!)
This day was spent mainly walking around Pamplona in the rain, eating in a well-known café in the square which Ernest Hemingway used to frequent, having a beer here and a Bacardi there and eventually heading for the bus station.
It was only 20 mins on the bus to Puenta la Reina and we got a lovely wee hotel (El Cerco) near the church (with the bell ringing every hour). We went to a local bar/restaurant and had a nice meal and a walk around. A quiet enough town with not too many restaurants or bars. In the middle of the night we thought we heard this singing outside the window, so we got up out of curiosity and there was a small group of people carrying a cross and singing and praying in the street. We hadn’t a clue what was going on. We found out the next day that it’s a custom when someone dies to do this ritual – like a procession – through the streets at 4 or 5 am.
Puenta la Reina to Estelle 22km
Nice breakfast in the morning, left the bags in reception and off we went walking towards Estelle. Great walk, the weather had turned sunny again and we passed through plenty fields and farmlands growing beans and grapes etc.
Our accommodation this time was an apartment near the centre of the town. It was a very nice 2 bedroomed apartment with living room, TV, kitchen. We didn’t need the half of it but it worked well. I needed to find out about the bus to San Sebastian tomorrow so I went toward the bus station about 10 mins walk away to see what I could find. There was a nice café at the station so I had a beer there and watched the comings and goings and got a bus timetable.  Back to the apartment and then to the square where we ate outdoors and found the Spanish for “very well done” so as not to get a raw steak. There were 4 Northern Ireland bucks that we often saw, actually from the train the first day but never got chatting too much and they were in the vicinity as always. Off we went to bed looking forward to the adventure tomorrow to San Sebastian.
 Estelle to San Sebastian (bus)
We found a nice café on the square where we got really nice breakfast (once they got going!). Estelle was our last town on this part of the Camino but we were relatively close to San Sebastian and decided to get a bus there and stay the night instead of staying in Biarritz. What a great decision! This city must be visited by everyone! It’s right on the beach, it has a lovely old town with nice churches, restaurants, tapas bars (they are called something else here). We got a Pension (about 15 min walk from bus station) near the beach and the old town, perfect location (Pension Pena Florida). This was a diversion from the camino but a worthwhile one. We knew (or hoped!) that the bus to Biarritz airport the next day would arrive in plenty time for the flight to Dublin. We ate in a Tapas bar and then went for a walk around the beach /promenade area, had an ice cream and took in the atmosphere.
San Sebastian to Biarritz airport (bus)
We got up early and went around the corner to a bar which was recommended by the Pension. They were only opening – a bit like yesterday – but we got another great breakfast! We then gathered our stuff from the Pension and walked to the bus station. We discovered that there were a number of providers with a bus service to the airport but we eventually got the soonest one and as always in Spain it left on time and arrived at the airport on time too. Biarritz airport is quite small so there was plenty time for hanging about. Some people went back outside to get the last rays of French sunshine before we would leave.
Another lovely week in the North of Spain (and the South of France). It was very different from last year when we went from Sarria to Santiago which was really outstanding. I think we bit off more than we could chew on the first two days this time which meant it wasn’t quite as enjoyable as last year. The highlight for both of us was San Sebastian. Anyone who is within striking distance of this city should spend at least one night there, even though it’s not quite on the Camino.
 Buen Camino!

He’s Not A Toy (Leo Voodoo!au Fic) Chapter 5 - A Captured Soul
Tumblr media
Warnings: mentions of murder
Ch. 1, Ch. 2, Ch. 3, Ch. 4, Ch. 5, Ch. 6
After that incident Leo would speak to me, he wouldn’t even look at me. I had questions, probably too many for my own good...and I knew one way that I could get them.
The magical academy’s library held a vast array of information from academic to archived news articles...which is exactly what I would be going to look for. Sneaking out of the mansion was easy enough, once Myeong was busy with...whatever it is that she does. I snuck out of the mansion, borrowing a broom on my way out.
Yes...brooms and witches are actually a thing. And thank goodness because it is much faster than horse or walking and I had sadly not mastered teleportation.
“News articles from seventy years ago?” the librarian questioned with a confused expression, “What on earth could you want with those?”
“I’m just researching something and some of the information I could be looking for is in news articles,” I replied.
“Alright,” she said, “Follow me then.” I followed her to a back room of the library and she opened the door for me. “The drawers hold all the articles...the sleeping goblin over there can help you if you need it.” She turned and left leaving me to my research.
I went over and tapped on the forehead of the tiny goblin who was sleeping away in his small rocking chair on top of the desk. If he were standing he would probably only stand a foot tall, but the snores coming from his sounded like that of a grizzly bear. He opened his big eyes and looked at me in surprise but hopped to his feet and bowed.
“Theodore Hobgoblin at your service ma’am,” he said, “How can I be of service to you today.”
“It’s very nice to meet you Theodore,” I said giving a small bow back, “I am looking for anything on a werewolf name Yuri from the Red Moon Pack...from about seventy years ago.”
He rubbed his chin and hopped over to a shelf and ran across the room and pointed to a filing cabinet. “We should start with the newspapers in this cabinet.”
“Alright then...let’s get started,” I said, walking over and pulling a stack of articles out of the top drawer.
Theodore and I spent the whole day looking through the news articles and it was beginning to look like there wasn’t anything. I needed answers, something was nagging at me, telling me that I needed to know who Yuri was and what happened to her and then figure out a way to get Leo and the others out of there.
“Miss...Miss I think I found something!” Theodore said excitedly.
I went over to where he was and looked at the article that he had laid our on the table for me:
‘MEMBER OF THE RED MOON PACK FOUND MURDERED, NO SUSPECTS’
Yuri, daughter of a prominent member of The Red Moon Pack was found dead. Sources say that the cause is from a magical battle between herself and that of black magic. Police say that Yuri’s soul was not found with her body so it is unlikely that they will be able to figure out what coven and which witch is responsible for her death, unless her soul is recovered. As of now the soul recovery team is working hard to find her soul and return it to her so she and her family may both rest peacefully.
If you find any lost souls or have any information regarding Yuri’s death you may send an owl or phone (xxx)-xxx-xxxx.
“Is this what you were looking for ma’am?” Theodore questioned.
“Yes,” I replied sitting down.
As he started to clean up he stopped and held our another news article, one dated earlier that same year. In the ‘engagement announcement’ section of the first page was a picture of Yuri and Leo...no....of Yuri and Taekwoon.
“Miss...why are you crying?” Theodore questioned, now holding a tissue in his hand.
I gladly took the tissue and blew my nose. “My heart hurts for someone I know...now I know why he’s in as much pain as he’s in...”
“I’m sorry miss,” he said.
“It’s okay Theodore...now let me help you get this cleaned up,” I said before helping him clean up the back room. After that was done I said my goodbyes to him and headed back to the mansion.
Myeong seemed not to have noticed that I had been gone. But now I had to do something that could be more hazardous to my health than just leaving the mansion.
I walked into the observation room and looked at the six men. Myeong had really done a job on riling them up. Hyuk was the only one that seemed like he was already coming down off of whatever spell she had put on them.
“Hyuk,” I said walking up to the glass.
He looked up at me. “What are you doing here?”
“I need to ask a question....” I said and he gave a small nod, “I need to know where Leo’s office is.”
“Why?” he questioned.
“Just...just please,” I said, “I have a hunch about something.”
He sighed. “Second floor...third door on your left.”
“Thank you...” I said running towards the exit. As I did Leo jumped at the fencing of his enclosure, growling as he did so. I pushed my luck and walked over, placing my hands on the ones that were grasped tightly around the fencing. “I’m going to get you out of here...” I stopped and leaned my forehead against the fencing. It cold that came off of it was a harsh reminder of how separated we were.
A few short days...I barely knew him. And yet...and yet my heart pained and longed for the man in front of me. There was a chance that even if I managed to get him and the others out of there that Leo would never reciprocate my feelings. I would understand; losing someone you love so dearly can’t be easy. But I would do anything I could to release Leo from this torture.
I felt a pressure against my forehead and without lifting my head I looked up to see Leo leaning his forehead against mine, the black Xs flashing in his eyes. “Save yourself,” he whispered, “Please...” The Xs went back to a steady black and he snarled at me, his hands grabbing onto mine, nails digging into my skin.
I looked him in the eyes and frowned. “I’m going to get you out of here...I promise,” I said before yanking my hands back causing scratches to be left behind.
I exited the observation room and ran up to the second floor and made my way to Leo’s office. Getting there I could hear Myeong voice. Cracking the door and peaking in I could see her back facing the door and she stood in front of a mirror, yet the reflection looking back was not her’s.
I carefully reached into my bag and pulled out the engagement announcement and held it up to compare to the reflection. ‘Yuri?’ I thought feeling confused for a moment. Until that is...until Myeong turned slightly and I saw a bottle with a blue orb floating in it in her hand.
‘Oh my god....she has Yuri’s soul...’
To be continued...

Las Vegas Hidden Secrets for Tourists
Even within the city that in no way sleeps - in which restaurants, bars, nightclubs and grocery stores hardly ever near. In Vegas, even 24 hours is every now and then still not enough time. With a lot to do and till a sunrise to do it, why waste time in Vegas identifying what to do? If you have been to Vegas before and you're interested in attempting some thing new or maybe you're greater interested by sorting out backstage of Sin City, you have come to the right place. Here's some guidelines and tricks EVERY local knows.
Tumblr media
CLUB HOP  cach danh lo ngay nao cung trung If there's one Vegas membership you can not leave out, it is the XS Nightclub positioned in the Wynn Casino. If you are not from Vegas, you'll locate yourself paying a pretty penny for now not just access to the XS nightclub, but in all likelihood every membership in Vegas. The excellent factor to do is to connect with a nightclub promoter. You can find plenty of promoters soliciting alongside the streets of the Las Vegas Strip. You'll know them with the aid of their three piece fits, handing out cards and wrist bands hollering to the public about their free bottle service and limo rides. If you've got been to Vegas you understand precisely who I'm speakme approximately. Sure, they will seem a touch at the shady side, but as a nearby, I can let you know - those workers are respectable. Club promoters aren't the shady avenue hustlers and swindlers they seem to show. They are truely employed by using the casinos to carry people into their clubs. You see, soliciting on the Strip is illegal in Las Vegas and so, how are those promoters getting away with it? Well, who do you think is jogging the city? The Las Vegsa Strip Casinos! Talk to those promoters, good buy a chunk, hook them up with a pleasant tip and you will receive reductions on pretty much something. Looking for unique VIP carrier, all you have to do is ask.
It's beginning to become common information: the two:1 ratio is rule. If you will the membership with a set of humans, there wishes to be a ratio of at the least 2 guys to one woman if you want to growth your probabilities of having in. Use this records on your benefit. Also, membership promoters can hook you up even better in case your institution can abide by this rule.
WHAT TO DO BESIDES CLUB?
You're not confined to simply night golf equipment even as in Vegas. The sports available to you within the town of lighting fixtures are countless. Why no longer check out a Vegas Strip pool party like the Encore Beach Club. Domestic to DeadMau5, AVICII and other first rate electronic track DJs. Again, membership promoters are the people you need to speak to for discounted access and bottle service.
Or, why no longer take a two hour helicopter journey to the Grand Canyon and walk alongside the Grand Canyon SkyWalk? Experience the phantasm of floating over the canyon as you tip toe onto a obvious floor suspended 500 ft above the base of the Canyon. If you do not experience like flying all of the way to Arizona, you may always hover over the Las Vegas Strip in a chopper whilst toasting bottles of champagne. And, you could locate all of this, at the Las Vegas Boulevard.
If you want to "aid the financial system" or buy groceries but, you are on a budget, hit up the nearby's favored - The Premium Outlets placed in downtown Las Vegas. They're known for the excellent selection of stores and ridiculously low expenses on items you won't discover anywhere else. I as soon as purchased 2 pairs of footwear, 3 pairs of jeans and a pair of shirts occupied with underneath $a hundred - all name logo stuff too! Plus, the Premium Outlets mall is positioned at once on the brink of traditional Downtown Vegas where the cocktailes are reasonably-priced and the table games brag $5 minimal plays.
The strip golf equipment in Las Vegas are said through many to be the nice inside the international. Looking for the maximum suitable girls, then Spearmint Rhino is wherein you need to be. Right across the street is the Deja Vu membership, an 18 and over all-nude strip membership, the simplest one in Vegas. All your free access and loose drink reductions on the Strip Club could be provided by means of your street corner membership promoters. Oh yea, suppose of those membership promoters as the gate manner to reductions and the undergound. Whatever it's far you are looking for, probabilities are, they recognize.
GETTING THE MUNCHIES?
Las Vegas is thought for a number of the nice meals within the world and recollect, the Casino cafes are open 24 hours a day. Buffets just like the unknown Rio Seafood Buffet are, guaranteed, high-quality. Here's a brief tip: sign up for a gamers card every time you go to a new on line casino. Sometimes, simply by means of signing up, you may get a loose buffet dinner, like at the Silverton Casino. Also, with these player's cards, you could rack up points which could later be used totally free gaming, loose meals and other perks. You're going to should spend a couple of dollars playing to earn factors, but in case you're going to gamble anyhow, why not stack up factors to your card and win some thing each time?
A region you furthermore mght want to test out is the name of the game pizza spot within the Cosmopolitan. It's at the 1/3 ground subsequent to the pool tables via a hallway you will in no way guess brought about probable the excellent pizza in Vegas. Find a hallway with a checkered ground that looks as if it is only for personnel.
A Vegas winter can be mighty bloodless and once in a while a bowl of true Japanese noodle soup will keep you stage. Try the Monta Noodle joint on Spring Mountain and Decatur. If you need mother and dad, this is it. Delicious red meat, duck, or chook noodle soup served hot and fresh.

The Fremont Experience has come to be the icon for Downtown Las Vegas. Here, you may test out unfastened live tune suggests, grasp your self a delectable cocktail, a fried twinkie, you may strive your success on a $3 BlackJack table and if you obtain not anything to lose, zipline throughout Fremont Street. So, you will be pleasantly amazed via the points of interest, made over antique timer casinos, like Golden Nugget's water slide through a shark tank, and truly the low low expenses.
If you're attempting to find something to do in the afternoon, take a gander on the Arts District also located Downtown. Here, you'll discover beautiful avenue graffiti painted on historic buildings and artwork interwoven into the town's structure.
On First Friday, the Arts District becomes a sidewalk facet show packed with road performers and artists growing stay art work on the market. Bargain for an original piece made by means of one in every of Vegas's very own. You may also want to test out the Cornerstone Art Gallery a low forehead avenue artwork current gallery of exquisite pieces.
At night, The Griffin Club, The Beauty Bar and the latest installment to what's going on in Downtown Vegas, Insert Coins, cram hundreds of devoted birthday party human beings and drown them in alcohol while damn the pix off the wall with the track of stay local DJs.
CASINO HOP
Hopping from Casino to Casino is the game we like to play. But, in case you do, obviously, you need to make sure you're carrying lots of coins. And, if playing is your component, be sure to recognize that the chances on the Strip are constantly going to be in favor of the residence. Of course, each casino has the percentages in their favor, however in keeping with local Las Vegas gamblers, you may have higher luck attempting your good fortune in the off-the-Strip Casinos together with The Orleans, The Gold Coast and any of the casinos in the downtown area. True, those off-web site casinos won't be as glamorous, but if you're right here to win, they are the location to be.
Las Vegas is and always may be the amusement capital of the arena. If you really want it, you will discover it in Vegas. Just make certain to take care of the enterprise employees, the hosts, waitresses, card sellers and so forth. Due to the fact the way to benefit VIP status right here in Vegas isn't always constantly through your pockets. If you show Vegas and it is human beings love, you will benefit special get right of entry to to the metropolis's riches - loose tables at golf equipment, unfastened liquids, loose limo rides, free food, and loose entry to almost anywhere you could imagine. Sometimes, you can even frolic in the perks of the VIP that even most Vegas locals can not get entry to. Just play your playing cards proper. Make certain human beings in Vegas recall you so you can for all time be taken care of.
