“You scowl too much.”
If anyone else were to speak to Scaramouche, Sixth of the Eleven Fatui Harbinger in this way, they’d certainly be reduced to a pitiful pile of ash on the ground. Perhaps he’s thought about subjecting you to this fate, once or twice. That number could very well have been bumped up to three times if the indignant air he currently regards you with is to be considered.
Then again, no one aside from you would get to experience this deceptively domestic scene. You sit beneath a canopy, branches free from winter’s thaw hastily preparing buds to herald in spring. Scaramouche holds your thighs captive, the soft flesh serving as his pillow. Indigo locks splay out against and tickle your skin.
“There’s a lot to scowl about,” he replies, though he makes an effort to relax his tense facial muscles. The contemptuous smile he gives makes his previous expression look benevolent in comparison. “I’m stuck dealing with a fool of a woman who’d probably wander off a cliff because she was too busy admiring the clouds.”
“Clouds are meant to be admired.”
“Case in point.”
“You make it sound like I’m chained to you with iron shackles, though,” you raise your ankle (notably shackle free, imagine that), drawing his attention and ire. Your sarcasm never fails to rile him up. He never seriously tries to put a stop to it, however. Such is his capricious nature. “If I’m such a bother, why not let me wander off the cliff?”
Scaramouche grits his teeth. “Because…”
There’s a pause, then, weighty and tangible. You know what he both wants and fears to say. If he were any less of a coward, he’d fill the aromatic air with truth, rather than engaging in his usual sidestepping. He’s so proficient at the act you swear he could moonlight as a crab. This mental image earns a barely contained giggle from you, one that further sours his mood, if such a thing were possible.
Knowing you as intimately as he does, he correctly assumes that he’s the unwitting source of your amusement.
“I can’t stand you,” he grumbles. Whether it’s to you or himself, you can’t decide. “Truly, I can't.”
“Then hand me over to someone who can.”
There’s a flash in his eyes then — otherworldly, malicious — he disregards composure like a snake abandons shed skin. He rises in a flash. Inhumanly cold fingers take your chin captive, bringing you closer to him, his delight in the ease with which he can manhandle you evident. Always the type to go for grand gestures, this one. His theatrical outbursts befit his moniker.
Scaramouche grins, beset with an onslaught of bitterness akin to a black hole. It draws in and swallows anything unfortunate enough to be nearby.
“You just love testing my patience, don’t you?”
If you feared him, maybe you’d tremble, but you don’t, so you are still. It’s likely that you should fear him. He is volatile, a mess of contradictions too complicated to untangle, a vessel who fills himself with acrimony, the same way humans must with air. He delights in it and considers it his birthright.
Your smile is not without kindness and that’s what bothers him most.
“Come, don’t pout. I have no intentions of being complicit in whatever havoc you'd wreak if I was with another.”
His eye twitches at the pesky word ‘another’. The mere thought of this faceless, nonexistent being having the audacity to lay claim to you, even in the land of fantasy, has his nostrils flaring and jaw tightening. You can see the ripple of muscles beneath his synthetic skin. He’s a wonder, this proprietorial doll, who can exalt and condemn you in the same breath.
You are mine, and mine alone, his eyes seem to scream, and I’d sooner end the world than exist in it without having you for myself.
“You really do scowl too much,” you reiterate your opinion from earlier, gently, almost sweetly. Whatever spell Scaramouche was under temporarily breaks, or perhaps he’s held prisoner to a new one, far more agreeable if not equally dangerous. “Your face is too pretty to always be frowning.”
You enchant him by running your finger over his lower lip. It trembles by your command. His eyes go lidded, a lovelorn haze obscuring the former tempest. He can never decide if he wants to destroy or devour you. For someone like him, he can’t do one without the other. His love for you is a death sentence, despite the immortality that should’ve never belonged to your mortal body.
It’s you who kisses him.
He temporarily forgets himself. The arrogance, the hurt, the fear that you might slip between his fingers should he ever relax his hold. You find him foolish in that regard. He can have you in the palm of his hand if he likes, and you know he’d like that very much. There’s nowhere else for you to be. Not when he’s seen to the fact himself.
Scaramouche melts into your person, returning your kiss with rapture, drunk on the way you offer yourself to him. He makes a deep, breathy noise, willing you closer, demanding total subservience. You let him have his way. Civilizations could rise and fall in the seconds that follow, and he’d pay them no mind, too absorbed with savoring your temporary connection.
It is what he lives for; what he'd kill for.
His fair skin is flushed when you part. From the apple of his cheeks to the tip of his ears, he’s painted in a color from your palette. The pigmentation suits him. Red is the color around his eyes, of his longing for you, and of what would spill across the land should you ever part.
“There,” you whisper, as if it were a secret meant for him alone, “That look suits you far better.”
He wants to deny it — you can tell by how his grip tightens — but he remains uncharacteristically quiet. If he gets to delight in you, it’s only fair that you can occasionally delight in him, he supposes.
Such is your capricious nature.

Yan Genshin Boys / Darling Breaking Up.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Yandere themes and unhealthy relationships.
Childe
Childe tries really hard to play it off as a joke in poor taste. Truthfully, he saw this coming from a mile away. He had adequate time to prepare his response as a result. If this doesn't work, he'll completely forgo his lighthearted façade, shedding it like snakeskin. He says he understands your concerns (his tone is cold enough to make you doubt the claim), but that it isn't anything you both can't work through. That's what relationships are about! Open communication and compromise. His family loves you, he loves you, why would you want to ruin a good thing? He knows how to talk you in circles. It's so frustrating and you're already in an emotionally vulnerable state. Being a member of the Fatui, he's done his fair share of interrogations. He knows how to systematically break a person's defenses down.
Diluc
You can't tell by his expression, but the poor man's heart is absolutely shattering. He doesn't know what to do with himself. He feels as if the best thing he has in his life is about to walk out the door. His lack of a response doesn't aid the situation; you're waiting for him to say something and he's just silently standing there. Thinking. His gloved fingers drumming on his mahogany desk. Whether or not you'll be allowed to leave Dawn Winery depends on if you told anyone you were coming here. If you did, then you get a couple more days of freedom while he finalizes certain arrangements. If you didn't, well... the suite he had made to his customizations will finally have a tenant.
Kaeya
Kaeya makes you question if this is what you really want. He'll acknowledge his shortcomings, yes, but he'll also point out yours. If you're both contributing to a problem, it's only fair that you work together to solve it, right? He carries this quiet confidence to him that puts you under his thrall. He knows what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. He's good with people and there's no one he knows better than you. If you were upset with him, you'll forget what was even bothering you in the first place ten minutes into his talking.
Zhongli
Zhongli wants to get to the heart of the problem. He doesn't go for the whole "it just isn't working" spiel, he wants specifics, something tangible to work with. The level of tact he uses when obtaining this information is commendable. You don't even think he's trying to talk you out of what you've come here to do. Any concerns you raise are treated with a level of respect that you almost feel is unfitting of the situation. He makes you feel heard and seen, always such a reliable pillar of support. Negotiations are his forte. The God of Contracts knows when to make concessions and when to stay firm. However you intended this to go, it inevitably sways in his favor instead.
Albedo
Albedo is eerily quiet to the point you end up rambling far more than you intended, trying desperately to fill the empty space. He had considered this possibility before, so he isn't completely thrown for a loop. It's far more unpleasant unfolding in reality than a hypothetical in his mind, though. How he navigates this tricky dilemma depends solely on you. If he thinks you can be talked into changing your mind, that's what he'll do, calmly going over things in that tone of his that makes you think everything is going to be alright. This is the method he'd prefer, since it'd change your relationship the least. Should you prove particularly stubborn, he can always use alchemy to synthesize a compound that'd make you drowsy... so this conversation can be continued in a more remote location.
Scaramouche
Takes it the worst from everyone here, no competition. It doesn't matter the tone or words you use, he's positively seething on the inside, an unbridled ball of rage and hurt. You're trying to leave him. Everyone always betrays him. Even you, the one he begrudgingly holds in high regard (at least compared to how he views everyone else). He's upset with himself for getting in this vulnerable position, he's upset with you for adding to the list of betrayals he's experienced, and he's upset with the world for thinking it could ever succeed in taking you away from him. He won't let it end this way; you're a fool if you think you're going anywhere after stealing his manufactured heart.
Xiao
He doesn't really understand what you're getting at. The concept of a 'breakup' is lost on him. He doesn't view romantic relationships in the traditional sense, he never ascribed a specific label to your connection. He views you as his favorite being to spend time with, so it's not like you can say he isn't your 'boyfriend' anymore, the moniker was technically never in play. The conversation isn't fun for either of you. Xiao does get that something's off about your dynamic, so he'll give you some space... for a time. Still watching you from afar, obviously, he has to keep you safe. He has no clue how to navigate this interpersonal stuff. He just kinda hopes to settle back into your routine and hovers around in your general vicinity to encourage this.
Kazuha
You probably won't be able to follow through with your "it's not you, it's me" speech. His eyes... oh, his eyes are so soft, glassy, almost. He patiently lets you say your piece, hanging on your every word, not rushing you and even placing his hand atop yours when you get emotional. He reassures you if you try to take the blame; he never likes it when you put yourself down. The fault clearly lies with him. If only he could provide you with an opulent lifestyle, you deserve someone better than a ronin from a clan whose name was forgotten by time. In a panic, you try to assuage his worries, and that's all it takes. He's got you right where he wants. It's not even entirely intentional on his part, which further adds to his credibility.

Yan Genshin Boys As Fathers.
Tumblr media
Childe
There is nothing more important to Childe than family. He’s been obsessed with the idea of raising children with you for years at this point — it’s a fantasy that’s occupied his every waking thought. Childe is going to be very involved in your kid’s life. He’ll understand (to an extent) if you’re apprehensive of having him, a self-admitted “bad guy” with a penchant for bloodlust around your little one, but he’s not going anywhere. He wants to teach your kid everything he knows, including how to defend themselves when they’re old enough. However, he wouldn’t allow them anywhere near Delusions or any form of power that’d hurt them in the long run. He’s an easygoing father for the most part, offering encouragement and preferring to use positive reinforcement when he can. Has a difficult time saying no whenever your kid asks him for something.
Diluc
Diluc still has a fair amount of unresolved issues with his father, and as a result, is wary of repeating the generational curses himself. He ends up being more distant in the earlier years of your child’s development. It doesn’t help that you more or less shoo him off when possible. He actually feels guilty that he wasn’t able to win you over by the time your child was born and worries for the day his own flesh and blood takes your side over his. You expected him to be overprotective of your child as he is with you, but it came as a surprise when Diluc was fine with letting the kid explore and learn from experience. He doesn’t want your child to grow up resenting him. The many enemies Diluc has made throughout his life remain in the forefront of his mind, yet that means he must prepare your child even more. He’ll take them to the side one day and make them promise to help him keep you safe.
Kaeya
Kaeya tries to be more of a cool uncle than a dad. Letting your kid stay up past their bedtime, giving them sweets even if they didn’t eat all their vegetables, stuff like that. This is a detriment to your relationship even more since parenting is supposed to be a partnership — the two of you need to be on the same page and respect the rules established by each other. Kaeya always promises to do this whenever you bring this up, but never follows through. He’d rather you handle the “icky” parts of being a parent like dishing out consequences and making tough love decisions. The thought of his own child coming to dislike him for whatever reason hurts more than he cares to admit. That’s why he plays it so safe.
Zhongli
You swore to Zhongli that you’d never need his help, that you could do this on your own, but once the mini Archons started running around and wreaking havoc... you didn’t have a choice but to rely on him some. Zhongli was just going to let you do your thing and intervene when he thought it was necessary, so it came as a pleasant surprise when you (begrudgingly) allowed him to take the father role to your children. His unmatched patience is perfect for dealing with them. He never raises his voice with them or loses his temper, and whenever there’s a dispute, he’ll come to a conclusion that keeps all parties happy. When he takes you and your child around Liyue for little informational field trips, he honestly couldn’t be any more content. Sure, you might have a strained relationship with him, but he figures you’ll start coming around. All he needs to do is continue waiting.
Albedo
Albedo’s grateful for the time watching over Klee since he can utilize a lot of the same parental methods on his own child. He’s good with kids, knowing when to put his foot down and when to let them learn the natural consequences of life on their own. The facet of him that you weren’t expecting to see was his willingness to fulfill your child’s imaginative requests. If his kid were to ask for him to make a unicorn, he’ll be in the lab testing various alchemical procedures until he can do just that. Albedo taking kindly to fatherhood has ulterior motives as well — he wants to bring out your instincts to take care of your young. You should, in theory, start being forced to rely upon him more and perhaps even form a stronger bond in the process. If not for your sake, then surely, for the sake of your child. He’ll set himself up to be the sole provider so your dependence on him increases even more.
Xiao
Xiao has extremely mixed feelings about the entire ordeal. The main problem he contends with is the nature of his karmic debt, he doesn’t know much about children, but he gets the feeling he shouldn’t risk harming your child by being in the vicinity while the curses of deceased gods weigh him down. If he isn’t around your kid though, then by extension, he can’t be around you. And he’s not having that. He’s probably going to try and convince you to hand your kid over to the Cloud Retainer or something like that. Xiao speaks to his kid like they’re a mini adult, using big words and asking them to do things beyond the capability of their age. He’ll look at your one-year-old and tell them to start cleaning up the mess they made with the expectation they’ll actually do it. Xiao mostly views your child as an extremely fragile creature that needs to be handled with the utmost care, whether they’re a toddler or teenager.
Scaramouche
Every time he looks at your kid, he’s still in disbelief about the development, no matter how many years it’s been since they’ve come around. He struggles with being a father more than he’d care to admit. How is he supposed to present him? The polite, cordial façade that he uses with strangers, or his true abrasive self? Scaramouche ends up falling somewhere in the middle. He has a soft spot for kids, especially your child, but he’s still a strict parent. In theory. If they make puppy eyes and ask him for something, he’ll have a rough time saying no. Scaramouche is also like Kaeya where he allows you to handle the more daunting tasks of parenthood, although giving fitting punishments for misbehavior isn’t difficult for him. It’s more... dealing with the complex, emotional stuff that comes as your child ages. They can go to you for that. His advice when it comes to dealing with people is never helpful, since he just gets rid of humans he finds the mildest bit irritating. You don’t want your child offing all their friends over a harmless dispute, so you get to figure the solution for that one out on your own.
Kazuha
Kazuha is an absolute doting father. He somewhat views your children as a shot at redeeming himself in your eyes — if he can prove himself to be a capable dad, perhaps you’ll come to accept him as your husband. It almost hurts to see how much your kids take after their father. They speak highly of him at every instance, always asking when he’ll be back from his journey since he brings back neat trinkets. Kazuha is always waiting for the moment when you’ll come around and return his feelings. He’d rather not have to use your precious children as a guilt-tripping mechanism, yet that’s what ends up happening. They’ll start asking why you don’t like dad when dad so clearly loves you. Did he do something wrong? If he says sorry, will you forgive him, and everything will be okay? Kazuha doesn’t do anything obvious to encourage this behavior of your kid’s so you can’t call him out on it, but you always get the sense that things are going his way whenever this happens.

matrimony n secrets with childe
Tumblr media
Warnings: Yandere themes, unhealthy relationships, mild not SFW implications.
13k follower event
Tumblr media
You set a slice of freshly baked sharlotka in front of Childe.
This might not be the pinnacle of culinary perfection — the dough could’ve risen more and the powdered sugar is more concentrated in some areas than others, but all in all, it serves the purpose. Or so you hope.
“Huh. So this must be why we had a large shipment of apples imported from Mondstadt,” Childe muses, setting aside a letter sealed with the Fatui’s emblem in favor of observing your dessert. “Taking up baking as a hobby, [First]? How cute. Domestic life suits you well.”
Archons, it’s been ten seconds and he’s already trying to rile you up. You refuse to budge at the juvenile provocation. He seems to sense that you’re not taking the bait and changes his tactics. With the silver fork you brought, he secures himself a piece, yet stops just shy of putting it in his mouth.
“Should I be expecting any poisons?”
“You know the answer to that as well as I do. I was monitored throughout the entire process.”
“A shame, that,” he takes a bite, humming in approval over the flavor. “Well? I assume there’s some ulterior motive at work here. Either that, or you’ve accepted the mantel of loving spouse-to-be faster than I anticipated.”
It’s almost frightening how well he knows you. You were hoping he’d thoroughly enjoy the treat first, bringing him into high spirits and you, his good graces, but that was asking for too much.
“... It’s about our wedding.”
“Oh?” That catches his attention. A dangerous glimmer shines in his otherwise dull eyes, one that you recognize well. A nonverbal warning. “I’m afraid I can’t bump up the date to accommodate your impatience, dearest. You’ll have to wait with bated breath just as I have been.”
Insufferable asshole, you think.
“That isn’t what I had in mind,” your smile feels forced, not that you can bring yourself to care. This is the best you can muster up given the circumstances. “I... I’d really appreciate it if we didn’t make a giant spectacle of the event.”
When he doesn’t interrupt, you gather your boldness, then go for the killing blow.
“Could it just be the two of us? Please?”
The final word comes out as a more high-pitched, meek display than you intended, but you departed with pride long ago.
“That would be awfully intimate, wouldn’t it? Borderline scandalous. Never took you for the eloping type. What’s the problem, [First] dearest? Afraid you’ll get cold feet walking down the aisle in front of the adoring masses?”
There’s a rather long list of answers to that loaded question. When you’re alone as often as you are, you have lots of time to think and ruminate. Your parents in the front row watching their offspring marry a bloodthirsty Harbinger. Your siblings being guarded by Fatui operatives from the inn to the ceremony and back. Friends from childhood wearing strained smiles while congratulating you with tight throats.
If getting on your hands and knees to beg spared them this nightmare, then that’s exactly what you would do.
“It means that much to you, huh?”
Childe’s question brings you back to reality. You realize that you’re blinking back tears — he noticed before you did.
“I’ll tell you what,” he points his fork at you, “Keep endearing yourself to me like this, and who knows? I might just be able to make it happen.”
“Thank you,” it comes out breathless and more genuine than anything you’ve uttered in months.
“Just know that our wedding night is going to be twice as long as compensation. Pick your poison, sweetheart.”
