I keep trying to listen to Doctor Who audios related to the doctors I'm actually interested in, but they keep putting a gun to my head and forcing me to do Fourth Doctor Homework before I can engage with them.

#oh you want to finish season 2 of the 8th doctor adventures? got to watch the brain of morbius first #think you can cheat by finishing the further adventures of lucie miller instead? no. go watch image of the fendahl.#oh so you've switched over to listening to the older Nyssa arc you ungrateful prick? hand of fear be upon ye #i'm not saying this because i dislike four i just don't want to have to do a whole detour before i listen to stuff #and i know technically the episodes are probably designed so that you can understand what's going on if you haven't seen the original.#but there is a big difference between “oh no! it's this guy! i know what the stakes are!”#and “oh. the protagonist has totally met this guy before. they're reacting with shock like it's a big deal and i should know who this is.#oh now they're doing a recap. wow they're super evil and tried to destroy the earth who could've guessed.#yeah i'm. i'm really pumped for this adventure. really feeling the stakes. really feeling shown instead of told. whoooo“#doctor who
