It has always bothered me that you still like McHanzo after all this time when I remember you saying Spuriken would be a healthier/better ship. Sounds a bit performative now, considering you don’t even draw them. Kind of sad that you’re still clinging to that toxic, d3@d ship.
Can I study you. I want to study you.
Ok but seriously, if you want Spuriken art all ya gotta do is ask. No guilt trip needed I promise. I’m guessing you’re a young person by how you censored dead and don’t rly understand how you’re supposed to do human interactions on Tumblr so here are gentle suggestions.
“Hey! I love Spuriken but I don’t get to see much of it. Would love to see you draw them one day!”
“Can I DM you? I got some issues with Yeehan I would like to discuss with you. It’s cool if not.”
I promise this will get you more mileage in the long run. Being bitter or angry will not help, trust me. And as an act of good faith, here is some Spuriken just for you. They're watching Shark Week!

The unfair Villainization of Deadlock and the Romanticism of Blackwatch
I've posted about this before but I thought I'd go more in depth since I have expanded my analysis since.
A trend I've seen when it comes to Cassidy and Blackwatch fans is that they often demonize Deadlock while also acting like Blackwatch was the best thing to ever happen to Cassidy (spoiler: It wasn't). The fact is that in lore, Cassidy misses Deadlock, while he regrets the things he did in Blackwatch. Ana actively stated that joining Blackwatch was Cassidy going from one desperate situation to another. Not only that but Cassidy was left in a worse state after his experience with Blackwatch.
Say what you will about Deadlock being a criminal gang, but none of them have joined a TERROIST ORGANISATION. Not only that but after Deadlock took down the Diamondbacks, they didn't just...leave shit as it was. Ashe actively brought order the the criminal underground of Texas, before that it's implied that gangs would just attack random people with Cassidy saying that he, a 15 year old, with nothing to his name, needed to travel with a gun. Meanwhile Blackwatch, specifically Reyes, caused a power-vacuum that cause several innocent lives to be lost.
Not only that but it's shown that Deadlock treats it's members better than Blackwatch did. Ashe, though harsh, shows the members of her gang nothing but respect. Meanwhile Reyes is commenting to a very mentally unstable Genji that they should have hired his brother, reminder this was a Genji that was still very pissed at Hanzo. Also want to point out that after Blackwatch disbanded and Genji was moved to a Overwatch Strike team, he seemed happier, healthier.
There is also the fact that Cassidy was more loyal to people outside of Blackwatch then to those within, there are no reports of Overwatch or Blackwatch going after Deadlock again, Cassidy didn't tell Reyes about Echo, Cassidy told Jack everything that happened at Rialto despite it being obvious Reyes was trying to down play the situation. Another fact is that after Blackwatch was sidelined Genji didn't talk to anyone who was a part of Blackwatch, Cassidy being a possible exception but even then it's implied that Cassidy was also allowed to be placed on Overwatch Strike Teams.
All this being said, we see how loyal and how close everyone in Deadlock is, and the fact that we don't have anything saying Blackwatch went after Deadlock again after they got Cassidy, it kind of implies that he never said anything. Never gave anything away.
I honestly don't care how people view Blackwatch but the amount of times I see Deadlock villainized is not ok. I understand it if it's posts from before Ashe was introduced but after...
I'm just glad Ashe herself isn't that villainized that much, from what I've seen the only people who villainize her are toxic Yeehan shippers, which I only see on tictok nowadays.

yeehan and ouihaw implies that cashe’s ship name would be yeehaw which shows how basic and bad the ship is…

A bit late of me to say this but character name changes can mean that your tags for any fankids of a ship are gonna have hell to pay. In other words, you're gonna need a new tag for Jaime.
There’s a mass tag editor in the blog archive on desktop, but I’m a little scared to use it what with tumblr being tumblr. I figure if/when I change his tag I’ll change it to “YeeHan kid”though honestly if the mass tag editor works I might just end up changing all my oc posts to… their names, (or mass applying their names as tags to keep the implied parent pairings?) it’s kind of tough because all the fankid tags started out very informal and cheeky. Even Faustine still has “pending Faustine tag” for her tag and I’ve had her for like… 4 years? I think?

You know what I find funny? Bapssidy, as a rare pair, has more cannon content supporting the ship then YeeHan does. Cass and Bap flirt, and in the recent story its very much implied that Baptiste likes Cassidy. Not to mention they have actually met in canon.
Yeehan has been a ship since before the game came out, and we still have no cannon content for them.
And as I stated before, Bapssidy is a rare pair.
Shits wild.

Your take on Yeehan was very interesting and I agree with it 100%. Same thing happens with Spuriken though, and it bothers me so much. The emasculation and hyper sexualization of Genji is a so icky and ended up pushing me away from the ship. I just don’t get why he needs Cassidy to defend/protect him when he has mfing ninja training. Idk, people don’t seem to know how to treat Japanese characters.
Yeah I agree with this too, it's less common in my experience but that's probably due to it basically being a rare pair compared to Yeehan. Personally when it comes Spuriken I like the idea of Cassidy, not necessarily defending him, but being of the opinion that he shouldn't be on the field. Cassidy outright states that he regrets what Overwatch and Blackwatch did in Hanamura, I think them enabling Genji's revenge complex and anger issues is a part of that regret.
And though I do believe Genji would wear eyeliner, I hate it when people hyper sexualize him, glamorize his body dysmorphia and treat his trauma as something only Cassidy can fix. (This is a similar problem with Yeehan but not to the extent of Spuriken)
Genji needed therapy, not a just as traumatized Cowboy.
Also again, every time a Shimada uses the term "cowman" I loose brain cells. I hate that trope so much you don't understand-
Another common problem I see with Spuriken shippers is that they romanticize Blackwatch, look, I understand the appeal, but they can't do that while also demonizing Deadlock. While Yeehan shippers often demonize Ashe specifically, Spuriken shippers, in my experience, demonize Deadlock as a whole.
I am of the opinion that Cassidy is the only Blackwatch member he remained in constant contact with after it's suspension but that is only because one, it's implied in dialog in "Storm Rising" and two, because Cassidy was the only other person who addressed how fucked up Blackwatch could be.
I honestly have a lot of headcannons on what Cassidy and Genji's dynamic was like (outside of the ship) and often they're things that I see a lot of Spuriken shippers disagreeing with. I think this is because the fandom tends to baby Genji, yes he's traumatized and reasonably so, but an important part of his story is that he made the choice to change for the better. People often forget that Genji is very obviously a foil to Reaper and his development. One chose to get better while the other doubled down.
Not only that but the more toxic Spuriken shippers will go on and on about how Cassidy would be hostile towards Hanzo, while completely ignoring the canon fact that Cassidy didn't trust Genji.
Again these problems aren't as prominent in Spuriken as a whole, most of these come from the Blackwatch side of the shippers, but the fact that it happens often enough for it to be a pattern shows me that if this ship was as popular as Yeehan it would suffer from the same problems Yeehan does.
Again I want to say that I do ship Spuriken, like Yeehan it has a lot of interesting story potential, but I think what a lot of people miss is that you can like something and still be critical of it or the way the community around it acts. I have been in way too many toxic fandoms to not be critical of the communities I'm in at this point.
