Shiver is an upper-circle Icewing that doesn't know a day of hard work...ever. She is vapid and empty-headed and most dragons assume that she is mean before even talking to her. But she doesn't have a mean bone in her body! She would never hurt someone on purpose and the prospect that some dragons might will make her cry.

Sheltered, she is bad at picking up social cues and she doesn't quite understand the history between the tribes. too bad she was chosen to go to Jade Mountain Academy but her obliviousness is a double-edged sword. She doesn't usually notice if other dragons don't like her. However with tension still high after the last disaster, being so clueless is a little dangerous.

Hello this is late but real life has been kicking my ass, luckily it's a long weekend and after basically sleeping for 2 whole days I'm mostly back to life so that means finishing the dres2 ep2 ref post before ep3 comes out lol. There's quite a few puns this episode which means I'm back on translator duty

When they're getting back to the workroom and Chanel in confessionals says that Chuchi was too high and mighty she makes a pun with being 'too high in her platform (shoes)' which are synonym of Canarian drag.

Speaking of Chuchi I feel like the Canarian girlies have it incredibly hard in this show tbh. They are used to perform in what basically amounts to stadiums 3 times the size of any tv filming set and they have to travel by plane which means the huge things they use have to be scaled down not only for tv but for transportation constraints and their style adapted to a different format altogether which is hard to translate well (yes i resent the Javis for how they've judged Chuchi by comparing her to Sethlas and I am not at all sorry people have ripped them a new one on Spanish gay Twitter bc of that)

When Pakita is in the confessionals (while they're dedragging) the subs say 'let's go for it there's nothing to lose' she actually says leña al mono que es de goma (a bit more like 'lets put more wood on this fire')

When they're back in the workroom and Chuchi says she wants to say thank you to Maria Edilia, she says it in a (not particularly good) LatAm accent

Pinkchadora makes a few puns about Maria Edilia being amazing/a heavy hitter and her weight

It's a crime nobody has mentioned Pakita amongst the sexiest but I digress ofc Chanel and Kelly think the other one is cute lmao. In the confessionals Chanel says 'a mi me gusta dejarme llevar' (i like to go with the flow) 'pero Kelly no mete ficha' (meter ficha is to flirt/shoot ones shot/ but literally it'd mean to put a coin in a machine) 'es que es una tragaperras' (she's a slot machine, so she's basically calling Kelly a bit of a slut... And probably also calling her too much of a bottom for her)

I love how everyone sucks at geography lmao when Chanel gets her flag she says 'oh two strips!' and Supremme answers 'you could also call it two lines: it kinda plays a joke on how you'd say two strips [of cocaine].

When Supremme is explaining the maxi challenge (a dance battle to Spain's Eurovision song of last year) she says they're calling it instead of SloMo (the name of the song) Me Eslomo (I'm breaking my back) not 'in slow-motion' like the subtitles say, it's also a joke used in the Gran Hotel de Las Reinas when Paca La Piraña does her number and it's literally all. over. this. episode. Literally everyone says this pun so much. Why not translate it? (even if you can't rhythm it like in Spanish)

The Muertas Haris group name is a pun on Mata Hari (the Spy) but also bc Matar means to kill in Spanish ((irregular verb, being dead is estar muerto/a)) and like Vania says a reference to the Eurovision song of the same name

After Carmelo (the choreographer) tell Clover and Pakita they have to perform a dance solo Pakita says it's a big weight/pressure but that she's used to it. It's a joke about sex lol but not like a very "in your face" joke. Spanish humor is very slut shamey (specially towards women) and Pakita likes to do it too but gender swapped, she talks a lot about how she'd sleep with your dad but clearly she's not the slut in the joke, it's your dad. Yes. Yours. Specifically.

Pitita says her and her team are more magazine vedettes than lola indigo. Lola Indigo is a pop singer and I'm not entirely sure magazine vedette is used in English like it would in Spanish. A vedette is a female burlesque performer (in which a lot of Spanish drag has it's roots on and from which it borrows a lot of lingo to this day), a magazine vedette is more of a chorus girl.

When they're getting ready for the maxi challenge they talk about tener pluma. Pluma (lit. Feather) is how we call someone that is very visibly gay. I hate hate that they left it as a literal translation bc it doesn't make an ounce of sense of in English bc the closest equivalent would be being limp-wristed or effeminate, but in English those are things you are not things you have (Unless ofc you want to go with having an affectation)

When Supremme is introducing the judges. Supremme makes a reference to Algo Pequeñito, Un Bloody Mary por favor y Quédate Conmigo (spanish entries to Eurovision from different years). Ana makes a reference to Gwendolyn by Julio Iglesias (bc of her look). Calvo says Supremme looks like an After Eight.

The guest judge is Soraya, who represented Spain for Eurovision in 2009 (and spoilers the song used in the lipsync is the same song she sang for Eurovision)

When Pink Chadora is in confessionals talking about the sandwich she had on stage it's ofc not a literal translation but this girl talks at the speed of light so I can't even be mad. It's just the pun number 35 of lomo (ham) / eslomo (breaking my back) / SloMo of this episode

This has been said before online but this challenge seemed to be... Designed for failure in my opinion. Making two of them lead and have the rest as back up dancers and not giving them each a chance to shine means everyone is either complacent expecting the two leads to do most of the work (and cave under the pressure which is exactly what happened to Pakita, listen there aren't enough words to say how much I worried the second Pitita said Pakita was going to do a flamenco version of Eurovision Chanel jfc) or to try to overstage the others in a way that doesn't make much sense. Also why the hell were both teams on the stage at the same time?? Anyway. If you've read this thank you 😊 hopefully I won't take this long again for the episode that comes out tomorrow lol

-Yes his middle name is A.jax and it's entirely bc of this post and this post .

-Danny is Trans, (note the cute bracelet!) having officially transitioned over the summer between middle school and his freshman year.

-Danny is still fourteen, and is the youngest, as well as the shortest out of the trio.

-12 ounces of whoop ass, snark and anxiety. Also puns. Dear God, the puns....

-hobbies include: Astronomy, astrology, D.O.O.M and horror movies.

-Astronmy is more of a hyperfixation tbh.

-Proficient in gymnastics, having taken classes from ages 6-12, and participated in jr. cheer-leading throughout some of middle school as a flyer. Actually used to be friends with dash and paulina.

-Favorite classes involve Science and Mathematics, he’s good at understanding difficult concepts when he can pay attention. Absolutely awful at reading comprehension.

-His style hasn't changed all that much; he absolutely lives in graphic tees, jeans and sneakers. He usually wears the hoodie to cover up the litchenburg figure scars he received from the accident.

-The Accident occurred roughly a week or so before the start of his freshman year at Casper High. 

-Much of how Danny got ghost powers remains in line with the established canon, with Sam urging him to investigate the ghost zone portal, and his getting caught and electrocuted within the frame after accidentally turning it on. 

-Sam didn't have to do very much convincing though, Danny's definitely a lot more interested in his parents work that in cannon, even if they can be super embarrassing about it a lot of the time.

-And this is the point where I break off from that canon: but I'm going to make a seperate post for detailing Danny's ghost half / Phantom.

Sam

Full name: Samantha Nicole Manson

-Sam isn't an Amity park native, she moves into town over the summer after getting expelled from a fancy private school and finishing the year out online/ at home.

-At 15 years old, She's the oldest out of the three of them- having gotten held back a school year at some point for "behavioral issues"

-Sam's personality is still very much in line with her cannon counter part, although while she may still be stubborn to a fault, she knows when to admit she's wrong.

-Her revised style is really more punk, than goth.

-Sam's family is still pretty well off, as her father is the Owner of "Manson refrigerators" which has had a long-standing partnership with Dairy-King Co.

-She doesn't have a great relationship with either of her parents- they view her as out of control while she feels that they're too controling. Her grandmother is a constant mediator between the three of them.

-she's a vegetarian, she won't eat meat, but ethically sourced eggs and dairy is fair game.

-Pan-romantic Asexual.

-hobbies include: Cooking, Gardening, urban exploration, social activism, Anime, horror films and novels, and D.O.OM.

-She meets Danny over the summer at the movie theater during a horror flick marathon. After talking with him for a while, she's intrigued when Danny explains what it is his parents do. Being equally shocked that she doesn't immediately dismiss their work and call him a freak, he invites her over to see the portal...

Tucker

Full name: Tucker Foley

-Meet Danny in kindergarten, and the two of them have been pretty much inseparable ever since. He's only older than Danny by about a month.

-Was the first person that Danny came out to.

-Bisexual

-Dated Danny VERY briefly (like, a week) in middle school, which, unfortunately leads to a lot of people assuming they're still a "thing" (it's annoying but I has absolutely gotten them out of a few sticky situations *cough* fake out make out *cough*

-Not really a fan of sam at first. Tuck Actually feels somewhat threatened by her in the beginning beacuse for the longest time it's been JUST him and Danny, the dynamic duo. He gets worried that Danny'll stop hanging out with him because Sam is just SO much cooler. (These worries are completely unfounded, of course.)

-Still a tech wiz, same as in cannon. Even though I've decided I'm going to set the rewrite in the early 2000's, there's gonna be more "modern" technology. (bc I love the fact that Jack, Vlad and Maddie were in college in the 80's and also don't feel like doing math to adjust the timeline) Tucker probably still has at least one PDA somewhere cause hey, vintage shits kinda cool! But it's definitely not gonna be his go to device anymore.

-Tucker has an issue with iron deficiency...hence, an increase of red meat in his diet. The "meat vs veggies" debate is absolutely a heated issue between him and sam, although after a while it settles into friendly banter rather than lengthy arguments that have Danny pulling out his hair at the lunch table.

-Tucker hates the horror genre, cause he's a freaking wuss, lmao. But he lets Sam and Danny drag him out to see movies anyway.

-Tucker's hobbies include tinkering, computer games, (including but not limited to D.O.O.M) coding and yarn crafts.

-His grandmother taught him to crochet when he would visit her in the hospital, Tucker Actually made his beanie himself.

-Danny's the only one who knows about that though because he doesn't want to be teased for liking something "girly"

-He still has a phobia of hospitals. Watching has grandma slowly deteriorating in one is what caused it.

I think I've covered everything, but odds are I'll be adding onto this at some point.

okay so idk if you know this but in kyoshi chaos mako mentions y/n getting her arm broken by asami

that's what we're talking about today so

basically it's like a normal day (as normal as it can get tf) for the krew

you're at air temple island kinda just chilling but you're bored bc all you do is dive into action !! relaxation is not !! an !! option !!

and you're all sitting in the dining hall just sipping tea

you weigh your options between sparring with mako's bestie jinora (makonora bestie agenda i will die on that hill tyvm) but she's probably off reading or chilling with kai

ikki would just ask you questions endlessly and as much as you love the girl you get that from bolin on a daily basis, same with meelo but with additional flirting

you try thinking of the krew but mako is injured, bolin is simping for opal, and you want korra to catch a break

so you place your cup down and stare straight at asami which catches her attention

"woah y/n are you okay?" she's waving her hand in front of your face and you nod

"do you wanna spar?" "why don't you ask the others?" "they're benders, wouldn't be a fair game. don't you think?"

cue korra and bolin huffing and mako snorting like "this is gonna be immaculate" (it was not.)

there's a huge smirk on your face and asami grins devilishly

"alright, you're on!" and you two jump up, with you grabbing your duffle bag filled with your uniform / equipment which makes bolin jump

his eyes are wide and he points to the duffel bag on your shoulder

"you didn't have that with you earlier. do you always carry it with you?" "uh yeah, you never know when you have to fight off someone suspicious. it comes in handy, except for that one time i tried to kill mako"

cue the awkward laughter and sudden exit

so y'all are getting ready and korra is like "let's make this more intense and recreate the probending arena !!"

girlie uses her avatar powers to earthbend a piece of the earth and makes a lil mini probending area and they're surrounded by the water

she didn't think it through so it takes you a while to actually think of how to get there and y'all ultimately use an ice bridge to get there

okay now this is where things get intense; bolin refs while mako and korra cheer for their respective gfs (lots of glaring and trash talk from the two and they're seriously about to go probend each other until bo just blows the whistle)

much narrating mhm mhm and y'all take so many blows (you're so happy bc asami ain't holding back at all like yes ty ty)

you're actually about to lose, and she didn't think you'd resist and she had a hold on your arm, so when you do y'all fall to the floor and you just hear this insane crack and a scream

bolin yells because the scream scared him but when asami rolls off you, you both groan

you try to point to asami that she cheated and you literally yelp in pain and it's mako who jumps into action

"and this is why i don't spar with you as hard as i used to." "shut up mako! i've-" "been hurt worse, i know." which causes a burst of laughter

he helps you up and grabs your waist even though it's only your arm that hurts

you don't protest he's a touch starved baby he needs the affection

korra takes a piece of mf sea water to heal you but it hurts sm that you have to head back to the island to get kya to heal you fully

"jeez, what did you guys do?! not even healing water is going to mend this, you'll need a cast" "it was just a simple sparring session, i'm fine!" (now that was a fucking lie)

you never cared for being injured because you were never hurt enough to be bound by earthly tethers such as casts ��� rip y/n

you were mentally preparing yourself for six weeks of agonizing pain and doing absolutely nothing when mako comes into your room as the sun is setting with ikki in tow

he gives you a kiss on the forehead before sitting down beside you while she sits a box on your bed, giving you a big hug and a get well soon card

she says bye to mako before sliding the door closed

"what's in the box?" "just open it" he's already wincing and regretting his decision when you open the box to see pens and various colored inks

"why'd ikki give us this?" "guess she couldn't stand you wallowing in sorrow at doing nothing, so she brought you some of her art supplies to pass the time." he shrugs and takes his arm off the sling, holding it out for you

"what? go crazy. if it'll make time go by faster for you, i'll sit here for hours while you draw on my cast." "mako, i don't know how to draw!" "well then, you've got six weeks to learn! come on y/n just let me be nice to you for a little bit." and you smile widely

you guys stayed up for a fair bit, so when asami opens your door to call you for breakfast while working up an attempt at a sincere apology to ease her guilt, you don't notice her big smile at the sight of you two

y'all are laying your heads against each other, casted arms on each other's laps that are filled with expert kyoshi warrior makeup doodles, the other covered with scribbles of reminders, compliments, and affirmations all matching ofc

she cleans up your little art session, leaving a note with her apology before walking out with a smile on her face

breaking your arm may not have been the most delightful thing you had to experience, but at least mako made things more bearable (though you do walk into the dining hall with red faces, the airbender kids fawning over your artwork, and a gushing bolin about how him and opal could be like that if their arms ever broke together)

One day, he met Chloe and she started telling him her plans and thoughts about gaurdians and humans and about destroying and taking over the gaurdians, Gold, agreed. Gold started to despise gaurdians, despise humans, despise protection. He believe Shadow demons were victorious and were a better future for this world then gaurdians and humans. So one day, after an argument with Jesse, he abandoned them and left them for Chloe and started being Chloe's minion/butler.

Appearance: Jora is tall for her age, chubby and often wears her hair loose in a parted styled held together with bobby pins. She has a wide and round face, nose, and short uet very thick eyebrows. She wears very little makeup, and always seen wearing lacy pink gloves.

Attire: Varies by seasons and series but she typically wears vibrant or pastel hues with floral and animal motifs, cutesy designs, or polka dots. I'll make an outfit ref soon!

Personality: Jora is described as a super sweet if timid and shy young woman with a deep respect for life. However she bottles up a lot of her negative emotions which sometimes makes her a doormat or she ends up being really icy. She learns to beyter express her negativity, though she does retain emotional sensitivity time to time.

In the OS Jo had to overcome one of her biggest flaws, Bystander Syndrome, in order to protect herself and her friend. Throughout thr series she becomes more assertive, though she dislikes sounding too mean.

While she adheres to the theme of second chances, she has little tolerance for faking and betrayals and wants people to actively work on making amends or changing their ways. She knows that some people can't change, so instead of active revenge she would rather let the person's actions catch up to them, or hold them accountable. She despises assumptions that she's evil just because of her powers. She admits to harboring some resentment, but over time she learned to accept her condition and adapt to it rather creatively.

Love Interests: Ben Tennyson

Ship Name: Cosmic Toadstool or BenJo

Ben Tennyson is her major love interest, starting from a brief tense rivalry from their first meeting. Over time they began to see they had common ground and developed more friendly relations by the end. The Ben 10000 episode is particularly amusing in that BOTH of them were quite disgusting at the implication that their older selves dated each other. Ironically it was their older selves watching their example that lowkey led to them getting back together.

They restarted their friendship in Omniverse albeit clumsily as both hadn't seen nor heard from each other in several years. Not to mention new problems: Jora hadn't quite got over her shyness and was socially awkward, and Ben swore off romance after too many failed relationships ego and wanting to focus on his hero career. Layer seasons would see the two began to grow a romantic attraction to each other, with them getting together post series. I kinda didn't want them together right at the end of s8 to drive home the point of them navigating a romance and not just "fighting fate" or what not. So they'll get together on THEIR own terms.

Backstory: Jora appears in the original show as a recurring character and ally to the Tennysons. The joke is that her family, who were also on a cross-country road trip, would often show up at the exact same city or town the Tennysons would be in.

Original Series: Unlike Ben and Gwen, the timid Jo was born with her powers but was afraid of them as she could barely keep it in check. She also didn't start out friendly with the two having been put off by their constant quarreling. It wasn't until an encounter with Kevin Levin (hint: KIDNAP) where she tried using her powers to defend herself and Four Arms for the first time. It didn't exactly work out leaving her ashamed for being a bystander, and decided to remedy this by practicing her powers for better use. This leads up to the Camp Fear event where she played a huge part in containing and eventually purifying the corrupted Mycellium (and yes corrupted; there's something bigger going on).

There were a couple of more adventures: goinf to Chicago to meet up with her cousins Patti and Ginger for a music fesitval; time travel shenanigans, fighting Rojo and her niece Cinnabar, & battling the the Negative 10. Her relationship with Ben and Gwen also greatly improved to the point where they became genuine friends near the end of the show.

UAF: After the road trip ended, she parted ways with the Tennysons and headed back to her hometown of Anneville,S.C. While not fully copinf with her powers she had a rejuvenated sense of self confidence and decided to find more uses for her powers. This included clearing away invasive plant species around town, going into homes and clearing away toxic molds, and dabbling into the scientific side of her powers. She maintained contact with the Tennysons until a few years when life started to get too busy for any of them to remain in contact.

It was also at this point Jora would learn about the scorn "dark" elementals would face, as well as a conflict between dark elementals just wanting to live their lives in peace and a group called the Temple of Light. The Temple's goal was to rid the world of all evil but took rather underhanded methods to do it. Jo would also briefly battle a faction of Forever Knights led by her contemporary Forever Princess, and villainous entrepreneur Kudzu.

Omniverse: Six years passed and Jora got a request from Max Tennyson to join a new "initiative." She turned it down, feeling that she wasn't suited for actual superheroics and wanting to focus on her studies. She was also afraid of seeing her old friends; a small part of her wondered if they'd still recognize her after so many years.

A few weeks later Patti planned on moving to Bellwood for her new job. Jora came with her to help her move in, & it was that trip where she and Ben reunited, and met his new partner Rook Blonko. Ben mentioned about his grandfather picking out new teammates to protect Bellwood. Jora admitted that max sent her a letter but she turned him down for personal reasons. Feeling rather disappointed Ben states that there's always an open spot for her.

During her stay Jora and Rook were taken around town to get familiar with each other and the sites. Rook was curious about her relationship with Ben which she replies that they go way back but hadn't really talked to each other in years. Much of season one and two is spent with her and Ben awkwardly reconnecting. Eventually she becomes a bit of a consultant for the Plumbers and a major member of Team 10, further developing her friendship with Rook, and something much deeper with Ben.

Post Series: Jora's experiences leads her to try to form a villain rehab group, succeeding by forming the Substitute Plumbers. She also begins to use her status and fame to raise awareness on multiple issues from gentrification to widespread Plumber corruption. After a brief breakup and working solo, She and Ben 10000 reconciled and within a year of two married and had three kids over the span of ten more years. Jora became a consultant specializing in Earth customs.

- Also a bit ironic: she's a good character who protects and values life yet has a power linked to death/dying.

- She was made 1) because I'm salty B10 didn't have a named black girl character & 2) to give Ben a compelling/fleshed out love interest

- Jora has a Reboot counterpart! Largely the same except now she's a main fixture right from rhe beginning and has a slightly different power set

I need help Do you have any tips on drawing female bodies?

1) Take half of what you've learned from anime and throw it out the window.

2) Take every male expectation of women and YEET that shit. Ask girls what makes them feel good, observe people around you, and start pulling from women in real life. I cannot tell you how excited my first animation teacher was that I drew women with muscle mass. Like, the dude outright thanked me in front of the entire class and then went on a tangent about how women have muscles too. Women have so many body types, research the look you want.

3) DO NOT SACRIFICE FEMININE FEATURES! I get it; some of you will be creating trans or agender characters, but keep in mind anatomy and how it works. And by that I mean the way their bone structure and such works. It's more realistic and easier to identify with when people can see their identity there than completely wiping out their journey. Looking more feminine but not identifying as a female does not change the fact that they identify differently. It's just how their body is and you dont need to wipe that evidence to make your point. I know trans ppl who still have feminine feature who identify as male or agender. Its normal??? That's real life, pull from real life.

4) Avoid giving stereotypical features where you can. THAT INCLUDES SLIM THICC AND BIG BOOBS. Not all latina and black women are thick. We dont all have thick lips and big noses or kinky hair. Fuck that. Yes there are common features between races but not always. My mom has a short upturned nose, I have a long bridge and bubble nose, and my Puerto rican cousin has a wide short nose. Pull from real life, but stay true to your character too. Have MULTIPLE refs, at least 7 or so to give you more variety. This includes for body types, lips, noses, eye shapes, etc. Cause I cant count how many times in hs I've seen ppl get mad when different Latinos or Asians got mad for being said another Latino or Asian was the same or that Africans and Blacks look the same or all white people look alike. Theres so much variety in the world, use it. God created it all for a reason. Feed that artistic brain yo.

5) Look to what in real life age groups wear. We dont wear uniforms, overly fashionable color scheme oriented outfits, or model wear. Think about what shapes look good on certain shapes. Think about where they're from, why they're dressed a certain way; again, avoid stereotypes. Not all black girls need to be dresses to be super ethnically-coded. I wear leather skirts, pajama pants, and yoga pants just like every other girl. We all like to be cute but we also like to be comfortable too! Sometimes we dont wanna dress up and sometimes we wanna give aphrodite a run for her money. We dont all wear makeup of have piercings. Anyone can inherit moles, freckles, etc. not just certain races.

6) Figure out personalities first if you can. A lot of times this can determine how a girl does their hair, makeup or no makeup, clothing style, etc. Their personality is very important and can also effect posture and gestures too.

7) PRACTICE. PRACTICE ANATOMY. PRACTICE WITH VARIOUS BODY TYPES. TAKE FIGURE DRAWING CLASSES IF POSSIBLE IT HELPED ME SO MUCH.

8) One thing I constantly see is ppl thinking theres one way certain types of women look or can act. Like, short hair and "boyish" tendencies means ur gay. Feminine traits mean you're weak and soft. Girls who dont have interest in love are bitchy or gay. That's bullshit. Maybe shes content not having a partner, maybe she doesnt need one. Shes no bitch she just dont want you. Characters dont have to date, esp female characters to be an important woman. WE EXIST. There are very feminine, super girly, cuddly cute gay women. THEY EXIST. There are short haired straight women. Draw them. THEY EXIST. Break barriers, your character is yours and if you want a buff, tall, bisexual long haired goddess who believes all clothing must be made of lace do you boo. If you want a character who is lanky as hell, bald, and killer spicy mama go for it. Draw her too, shoot. Draw all the girls.

9) Everyone has different versions of sexy. Boobs and ass hanging out isnt everyone's sexy. Sexy doesnt mean sloppy, sexy doesnt mean turning the character into a prop. Respect your characters plz! You dont know who will see it and who u can influence.

10) DONT LET PPL TELL YOU REAL LIFE WOMEN DONT LOOK LIKE WOMEN THATS DUMB

And those are kireis main rules for drawing women. The most helpful thing is pulling from real everyday life, I promise you. That, and knowing women know our bodies best so we're gonna give you experienced answers. Hope this helps even tho I'm high key ranting lol
