The story. The characters. The romance. The angst. The tears. The comedy. The action. The boldness. Straight to the point plot. The color tone. The soundtracks.

Everything are truly well done. Even the cringe romantic words exchanges that I don't mind at all. 😁

Just like in my early impression post, Love Like The Galaxy has shown me the beauty of love. About being loved and to be in love. The feeling to be cherished, to be trusted, to be care, to be listen, to be respected, to be what we are, to be protected.

Also, as the story goes, the beautiful changes from cheerful and playful Shaoshang to her soft and mature version. The changes from a stern and stoic Ling Buyi into his gentle and soft manner. Shaoshang has become stronger, while Buyi has become softer (in a good way). The changing because of love. 💚

The side characters were also quite entertaining, especially Emperor Wen. As an Emperor, it seemed he was more concerned about Buyi's love life than about the country. Emperor Wen is truly the president of Yishang's fandom (🤣). His Empress and Consort were also in good terms. They treat each other well (although the Empress has to hide her feelings whenever she sees the Emperor being more favor with Consort Yue). No confusing palace intrigue whatsoever.

I also come to understand Shaoshang's broken heart after Buyi's revenge plan. It's because she was left without knowing anything. What people said as an act of love from Buyi to Shaoshang were actually being carefully designed by Buyi for his revenge plan. No wonder Shaoshang felt so heart broken with Buyi--the one she trusted so much.

Being left behind without knowing anything, clueless, confused, and can only wild guessing ... it's really not a great feeling to have.

At the end of the episode, my impression for this drama are still the same. To be in love, to be loved, and to be protected are indeed beautiful feelings.

And, just like Wu Lei has said in his farewell video as Ling Buyi, hopefully we will find the person that will accompany us walk this world. Someone who would said, "Don't be afraid. I'm here."

I had forgotten just how sad the CSS×Yao breakup is. I am SOBBING. While not an equal relationship, they were good—and truly cared— for each other. They both grew so much from their relationship in ways that defined who their characters developed to be.

And, personally, I was just really attached. Yes, Yishang is immaculate and I would die for them; but I really liked the way her relationship with Yao was based on companionship and shared goals instead of romantic love. I think that, while not perfect, they could have been happy together if things had gone their way.

I honestly love the way the relationship is regarded in the show. Even if we know it is not endgame and other characters have their qualms about it, I never felt like they were telling us it would have been a wrong choice or that it is a good thing for Niaoniao that the betrothal got canceled. She mourns this relationship and the life it could have given her, she still sees him as an important person in her life. It is very realistic in how there's never just one path to happiness or one kind of happiness that's right and all other options are wrong, in how there's not one perfect person meant for you and if you don't end up with them, you can't be truly happy and loved.

Early Impression: Love Like The Galaxy

It's been a while since the last time I enjoy a romance drama. Well, Love Like The Galaxy isn't fully lovey-dovey drama though. It has a bit of mystery and revenge, also a bit comedy here and there which I adore it. I really enjoy watching this series.

At first, I don't quite favor with the romance story. I was more interested with Ling Buyi's character, his story, and his revenge plan. Sometimes I skipped other scenes and jumped out to Ling Buyi's scenes.

Then, I realize it. When it was Ling Buyi's scenes, the surrounding was dark, gloomy, and intense. His facial expressions were always strict, tight, and full of anger. But, it soon change when Cheng Shaoshang stepped into the scenes. The surroundings become bright, light, colorful, beautiful, and happy. Ling Buyi's facial expressions also change into more relaxed and soft. The changing was nice, and it made me thinking, "Ah, so this is how it feels to fall in love with someone."

On episode 12, when Shaoshang said she knows how the way to attend Ling Buyi's wound but she was hesitant it will work, Ling Buyi quickly said, "It will work."

When Shaoshang was hesitant to insert a string from her necklace into Ling Buyi's wound, Ling Buyi holds her hand and said, "It's alright."

And, when Shaoshang looked at the General's face, to make sure before she pulled out the head of the arrow, Ling Buyi said gently, "Do it."

It was love--what made Ling Buyi fully trust Shaoshang with her actions. As for me, "Ah, so this is how it feels when someone trust you."

On episode 19, Ling Buyi asked Shaoshang to meet her in secret. He was about to go to war. He asked what Shaoshang wants to do in the future, beside of marrying. Shaoshang told him several things she wants to do, and Ling Buyi just stood still listening. His face becomes soft, a slightly smile appeared on his strict face. I said to myself, "Ah, so this is how it feels to be listen by someone."

As far as the on going episodes, I said to myself, "Ah, so this is how it feels to be in love and to be loved by someone."

The feeling was nice.

I really like how Ling Buyi really bold and firm with his feelings towards Shaoshang. He has fall in love with Shaoshang from the first sight and never divert his eyes away again. He's powerful and the emperor favored him so much--more than the emperor's own sons, yet, he never used the power to suppress Shaoshang to like him back. He could if he would, but instead, he used it to protect Shaoshang.

Ling Buyi and Cheng Shaoshang aka Yishang now has easily become my favorite couple beside Lin Fang and Zhan Qing Hong (The Moon Brightens For You) and Rong Xia and Ban Hua (A Girl Like Me).

While Yishang is my favorite couple from the show, I really liked CSSxLY dynamic. They truly cared and liked each other as people, they gave each other freedom. I loved that the show made it clear that the breakup was painful for both of them and that they were given at least a little time to mourn it. Also, the way they show how they impacted each other's lives even if they didn't end up together? Lovely
