Being autistic and fat is great because the lengths I will go to avoid being in an elevator with a person means that I will put my body, which was designed to be looked upon as a neolithic venus model and worshipped for its abundance, is instead put to the ordeal of going up eight flights of stairs and a very huffy/puffy conversation with a professor

my oppinion of it has changed over the years, i don't think its as good as i thought it was - its much kinder to scott than i'd like and also removes the nega-scott scenes which i think would make the final confrontation better overall. the visual design is some of my favourites, the visual sound effects, 'loot drops', various bars and meters that show up and the boss fights qoute unqoute are definately my favourite sequences in the movie (even though i hate that they kind of wasted the twins and deminished envy's role significantly to bolster other characters). edgar wright's direction and the casting really does save the movie in a lot of ways, but since reading (most of) the source material i'm like.... eh. yknow

disclaimer i have yet to read the book but just based on the movie i love it. its not as high up in my ghibli ranking as a lot of other peoples' but it defiantely has my favourite use of colour and costume design of any ghibli movie ive seen, and one of my favourites across animated films as a whole. i don't like sophie's relationship with howl as much as i used to? idk if thats because i found out the agegap or what, but looking back on it i wish she'd hit him with that broom atleast once ykwim. but then i found out sophie actually bites back at him quite a bit in the book, so im excited for that. overall im just always a big fan of ghibli movies that are adaptions of childrens books, they tend to be my favourite (when marnie was there and earwig and the witch for example)

MAN I FUCKING LOVE WRECK-IT RALPH. i love the set design, all the props, how they shaped all the seperate worlds. i was never a big arcade guy so even though most of the games were fictional i didn't really have a lot of comparrison, but looking back i can appriciate it a lot more. it also just has a really fun plot for a kids film and i think that got lost in the second one. like idk it took something away from that first movie and its message for me. I ALSO REALLY REALLY LOVE THE CREATURE DESIGN, the concept of futuristic parasitic bugs that adapt by BECOMING what they eat and that leading to king candy's downfall is just... ooh. i need to rewatch WIR now
