List of my top ten favorite Yokai from Yo-Kai watch in order from most to least favorite or something idk

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Thurston: I love everything about him! Like, when the game first came out I literally wrote pages and pages of Wattpad-style fanfiction about him with so many different characterizations, to the point that his different interpretations split off into two separate OCs who I still have to this day, who I then shipped him with along with his other two versions, Draculadoji and Shutencaesar. I was very normal about him.

Tattlecakes: I also love her design, she seems so friendly and sweet, plus I love an old lady character who can still kick your ass. When I wasn't writing about Thurston getting shipped with himself, I was writing Yo-kai Watch Blasters found family fanfiction where Thurston and Tattlecakes meet with other yokai while trapped in a dungeon and then they bond while trying to escape together.

Jibanyan: Yeah, he's the mascot character, but he's the mascot for a reason. He's got a strong personality, he's funny, has an amazing backstory that never fails to make me cry no matter how many times I watch/play it, was really cool in YKW Shadowside, and serves as a perfect foil for whisper's tomfoolery.

Rattelle: She's an icon, a legend, a fashionista, and so much more. I adore her design, and would love to cosplay her someday, and she has enough presence in the games to where she has a fairly established characterization as sassy, confident, and style-savvy. If archaeologists ever find my bones, they won't even be able to misgender me because I'll be serving 100% Rattelle.

Usapyon: He's a perfect companion and foil for Hailey-Ann, I love the twist that he's an otter, and not a rabbit, and he's so cool, funny, and cute at the same time. His backstory was genuinely so bittersweet and it makes me cry whenever I revisit the third game. Also, space and Star Wars reference.

Shutendoji: I love him, from his story about the fall of the Oni tribe's rule and trying to bring back the original ruler, to his relationship with Douketsu and Shuka, and all the stuff in between that I can't quite call to mind right now. I hated him in Shadowside though, he felt like a totally different character. He also looks cool.

Foiletta: You would think she's a mean girl until she helps you put a curse on your cheating ex, also she was super helpful during my first run of Yo-Kai Watch 2.

Mermother: Gorgeous, powerful, has the 10/10 best soultimate no notes.

Whyvern King: If I'm being honest I mostly like him because he looks like Great Value Thurston.

Fukurou: He's my poor little meow meow. That's all.

Meanwhile in a parallel moment...crossdressing alert?

I had found in my files a screenshot of Camellia wearing clothes of Next HarMEOWny/NyaKB idols, and I thought: wow! I can do an alternative version of this scene by having Thurston in his crossdressing and above all, his new themed vase! Because I remembered a moment in Yokai Watch 3 where one of the protagonists dressed up as NyaKB idols for the musical minigame, and I thought it would be a good idea to do this with yokais too! It's a stupid idea but I had a lot of fun doing it.

So this was a good point brought up by Huntersmoon, and today, I am going to theorize possible ages for the other Thames members (and some other stuff about them)

Björn

So for Bjorn, I’ll take his height, his personality and his alcohol tolerance into consideration.

Bjorn is 100% the tallest of the group, is rude and kinda egotistical, and has been seen chugging alcohol like a madman in 2 panels (Yokai watch Shutendoji must be smuckers levels of jelly at this mf rn)

Taking this into consideration, I’ll assume Bjorn is around 100-190 years old.

Also, little fun fact:

I tried translating Björns name with the Google translate detect language feature, and the result was “Bear” in Icelandic. So yea, Bjorn is from Iceland???

Alaric

So for Alaric, I’ll take into consideration his appearance, personality, and this one insult hummer shot at him in Chap 18 cuz why tf not?

So given Alaric seems like he’s in his late 20’s - early 30s, seemingly has a lot of experience in weaponry, and the forest fire of an insult Hummer said in Chap 18, let’s assume Alaric is about 100-130.

Morton

Okay, I’m not even gonna give an explanation, he’s definitely like 90-120 at MOST.

Okay, I think we can all agree he’s probably the youngest of the group, so he’s probably about 80-100 at least.

Ah another Yo-Kai-Watch enjoyer rare around these parts. Anyway Kafka's life just whole lot more spirited ( hahaha I'm funny I swear) their's definetly a whole lot of yokai that would immediatly take to Kafka, a Brushido that stays with Kafka due to his skills as a Monster Sweeper and to teach Kafka how to take care of his apartment if the couple panels in the manga are anything to go by, Thurston who seeks to help keep Kafka on a training routine especially when he gains his Kaiju form, Enduriphant ( You know why, after all Kafka still wants to be a bride), a Faux Kappa that had their river home destroyed by a Kaiju and met Kafka while cleaning up the corpse and Kafka being Kafka offered a temporary home at his place.

This is just a few as I could go on for a while of all the Yo-Kai he befriends let alone helps out

Watch the shows(OG/Shadowside), played the games and still sad that Yokai Watch 4 never got a American release. 🥲

Trust me when I say Kafka has quite the collection of Yokai Medals over the years ever since Hans began to haunt him. Including different types like Shadowside, Godside, Legendary, Shadow, and even Emma. You can say Kafka is the most haunted man around.

Although Enma Tribe in particular liked to put him in very interesting situations. Whether it was a test or to relieve some boredom often varies. This includes dropping Shutendoji Theo(Shadowside Thurston) into his care and bounding the magically Oni to a 29 year old Kafka.

Any awkwardness or animosity from the Yokai in particular towards our himbo did peter out over time. Theo still doesn't like Enma Tribe and tries not to get annoyed when people mistake Kafka for his actual dad. (He knew what he signed up for with posing his human disguise as the man's foster son.)
