Yoonmi’s Relationships with BTS
(updated as of february 2024) (mentions of hangouts are all indicating before the members’ enlistments)
Tumblr media
JIN (Kim Seokjin)
Tumblr media
Since Yoonmi had become an adult, Seokjin had taken to treating her like an equal and rarely using his “oppa” card, which is a stark difference from when she was younger. Yes, she still goes to him for advice, and he is the one who still helps her with adult matters such as bills and taxes and lifestyle, but he also becomes a friend that she can mess around with like she’s with other friends around her age. In his mind, she still is a baby, but he understands that she’s matured, wants to be seen as more mature, and that she’d still see him as a parental figure no matter how old she gets. He likes to think this is her finally acting out since she’s always been a good kid.
Jinmi in ARMYs’ eyes: They enjoy witnessing how Seokjin always “cries” about how she’s grown so much. The shift in their dynamic was over the pandemic, and suddenly everyone could see that Yoonmi was more comfortably roughhousing with Seokjin, and he was responding more like he would to Jungkook rather than his previous shrugging off and fond smiles. Seeing them become more like similarly-aged friends really made ARMY realize how she had grown.
Iconic Moment: It was revealed through the BTS documentary on Disney+ that Yoonmi was the one who initially started cutting his hair off. She was given the shears by her stylist, and she was so hesitant while Jin just kept encouraging her with “How will I know if I look okay bald unless you start?”. So she cut his hair, only getting distracted a small bit when Yoongi and Jungkook came, then listened attentively as their stylist carefully explained what to do with the electric razor. She, with assistance from the stylist, evened out Seokjin’s shave until she stepped back, staring at him. “It looks good.” “Of course it does, look who you’re talking to”. The video cuts there, but the next of her seen in that context has teary eyes and is gripping tightly onto Yoongi’s hand.
SUGA (Min Yoongi)
Tumblr media
Yoongi is still very much her dad, that never changed The only thing that changed over the years is how they both actually address the fact that Yoongi is her father figure, second only to her adoptive father, and on level with her adoptive brother. Even the other members sometimes address Yoongi ad “Yoonmi’s dad” at this point. Yoongi and Yoonmi remained each other’s silent comfort person, the person who takes their side and hears them out first, and the person who they can go to when they feel overwhelmed. He’s there to hold her hand when things go wrong, and she’s there to give him a hug when things don’t go as planned.
2yoon in ARMYs’ eyes: Yoongi and Yoonmi is everyone’s comfort duo. When they’re together, there’s an air of warmth and calm, so everyone feels better after a long day when they watch 2yoon content. They find Yoongi’s care and the way Yoonmi looks up to him to the point of taking after him endearing, especially knowing Yoongi is the one Yoonmi never fought after their mysterious conflict in 2018.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi went to all three days of the D-Day Tour finale. She, of course, did her feature on ‘Seven’ for Jungkook. During the ment where he kept them with him on stage, he thanked and praised Jungkook for ‘Burn It’ and ‘Seven’ before turning to Yoonmi. “And our princess, my daughter. She has something coming out this month and surprisingly didn’t want to spoil it—” “Surprisingly?” “— so she had a special request. As you all know, our Miya did the demo vocals of one of my previous mixtapes. I got to perform this song with our vocal line, but never with our princess. Until today.” So they performed ‘So Far Away,’ and the proud look on Yoongi’s face by the end as he looked at her made every ARMY feel like their troubles all disappeared.
J-HOPE (Jung Hoseok)
Tumblr media
Hoseok and Yoonmi treat each other like their own personal powerbanks. They could be tired, but, once they’ve spent time together, their energy levels go up. Yoonmi says that’s why she gravitates towards Hobi when drinking, because she’s usually a sleepy drunk. They like to escape together, as well, hanging out in the practice room or either of their studios where they experiment with different styles, genres, or just mess around to fuel their creativity. Of course, Hobi never stopped seeing her as his little prodigy, teaching her old school hiphop and openstyle dancing and watching her proudly while they learned new styles together.
Homi in ARMYs’ eyes: The two sunshines, that’s what they’re known as. Hobi brings in bright energy while Yoonmi makes everyone smile, making them everyone’s favorite duo to turn to when they want to laugh and get a pick-me-up. ARMYs love seeing Hobi treat Yoonmi like the little sister he’s never had but always wanted, too! Everyone knows both Hobi and his noona see Yoonmi as their youngest sibling at this point, which is why she even got Yoonmi to sing in her wedding reception.
Iconic Moment: Yoonmi vlogged her Lollapalooza experience, so some behind the scenes were uncovered there. Hoseok got Yoonmi to rehearse Chicken Noodle Soup with him while they were waiting for Becky, and the two ended up having so much fun that the band kept vamping the song, making it longer so the two could enjoy their mini cypher. “Oh, Yoona, you haven’t forgotten your basics!” “I have the best teacher!”
RM (Kim Namjoon)
Tumblr media
It used to be just Namjoon sitting to absorb and analyze the way Yoonmi’s mind works when they’re together. Now, she does the same to him, curious about his inner thoughts. They spend a lot of their time together having deeper conversations, whether it be about life, work, music, or just their thoughts. On the other side of things, they’re both clumsy dorks who geek out over their recent reads or watches together, actively showing interest in each other’s preferences because Namjoon wants to stay as someone who understands her almost best and Yoonmi wants to stay someone he can be proud of. Especially with Yoonmi, she wants to make her leader proud of her.
Joonmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Though ARMY initially thought they were awkward, that image disappeared. ARMYs see Joonmi and see a little sister looking to her older brother for validation, and him happily giving her that validation. ARMYs also enjoy the fact that these two together can go from 0 to 100 real quick, on any end of the meter. From just having lunch they can either go to talking about their plans for the future to being stuck in a laughing fit on the floor over a plastic utensil they’ve broken.
Iconic Moment: During the live with just the five of them, Yoonmi was a lot quieter compared to how she usually is. Namjoon kept glancing at her and tapping her leg to get her to talk. At some point, he bent to whisper something to her, then, when Taehyung opened his mouth, Namjoon quickly pushed a piece of pizza there. In his efforts to do so, he knocked over three cups. He looked at Yoonmi, who was now laughing, and he just nodded at himself in satisfaction.
JIMIN (Park Jimin)
Tumblr media
Yoonmi has not changed in Jimin’s eyes in the way that she’s still his youngest Busan Baby. Whenever she tells him she’s an adult now, he always pouts at her and goes on a spiel about how she’ll still be his baby even when they’re in their 80s and beyond that. He invites her over to his apartment a lot, or he just stays at her’s (partly because Jungkook and her niece are usually there as well) because he genuinely enjoys her company and being able to sit with her. He also takes every opportunity he can get to give her princess treatment because he believes she should always be treated like Bangtan’s princess (even though she’s trying to shake off the delicate image that had somehow formed over the years)
Minmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Minmi are both very very affectionate, with their habit of holding onto each other unknowingly. ARMYs have so many compilations of them sharing the tightest hugs or exchanging the softest forehead kisses, naming them the mythical siblings due to the way they treat each other. Everyone also loves how these two speak either in pout or in giggles, no in between!
Iconic Moment: Nobody thought Yoonmi would be able to make it to Jimin’s fanmeet due to her solo promotions, but, while he was going to take a photo with the attendees, the “staff” who came on stage removed her padded long coat, revealing Yoonmi. ARMY started cheering while Jimin’s jaw dropped, then he rushed up to hug her really tight. “Yah, how long have you been here?” “The past hour? I had this in my schedule, oppa. You didn’t think I would miss your documentary screening, did you?” “You’re really something else, aegi.”
V (Kim Taehyung)
Tumblr media
Taehyung and Yoonmi both matured a lot more visible than the other members, so their dynamic shifted a little bit from overly-doting big brother and complying baby sister to a pair of siblings more along a similar wavelength. While they’re still quite playful and he still dotes on her, their age gap isn’t as prominent in their actions. It’s clear that they both see how each other have grown, and it’s something they like to just observe when they’re with each other. They’re proud of each other’s growth, but more proud of how they managed to keep their friendship completely intact despite both of them changing over the years.
Taemi in ARMYs’ eyes: Taehyung and Yoonmi started posting more content together, which everyone enjoyed since they used to keep their off-screen friendship mostly to themselves. Now ARMYs enjoy seeing their posts when they meet up to go to jazz clubs, have coffee, or just do anything together. ARMYs also love seeing how they shifted from over-excitable kids to more mature youths who support and take care of each other.
Iconic Moment: An ARMY saw them in a jazz club together. Allegedly, there were a few cocktails on the table, and the two of them seemed to be exchanging stories the entire time they were there, never once letting there be dead air. Apparently Tae also tried to play the saxophone and let out a really out of tune note, but Yoonmi just cheered him on. The ARMY was able to take a picture with them, saying that they were both happy to see her yet politely asked to not post anything while they were still there. She promised, and the two were said to have continued their night of stories and jazz music.
JUNGKOOK (Jeon Jungkook)
Tumblr media
If anything can describe these two, it’s the phrase ‘ride or die’. Yoonmi and Jungkook would drop everything if the other called them and said they were in need. Almost thirteen years of friendship and growing up alongside each other really molded them into being two peas in a pod, especially since they both hit their twenties. They would see each other every other day and talk to each other at least once a day. Jungkook had gotten less overprotective (especially now that she has a boyfriend), and he has increased his role as the main mythbuster of Yoonmi’s delicate image. Yet, even with all their bickering and squabbling, they remain each other’s support systems and hypemen, connected in a way where they can work with and around each other without even needing to talk. Their friendship is further solidified by their matching tattoos (aside from the group’s matching 7 tatts) which they successfully kept between themselves for over a year. (The only people who saw these right after they got them were Mark and Namjoon. The tannies found out by accident)
Jungmi in ARMYs’ eyes: Ever since Bangtan first debuted, Jungkook and Yoonmi’s friendship has been something so many people, whether ARMY or not, have admired and set as a standard or wish for in their own best friends. ARMYs specifically love how they’re not afraid to roughhouse or bite back at each other but still have each other’s backs no matter what. Also Jungkook biased ARMY all have Yoonmi as a bias wrecker or vice verse because of the amount of content these two have and the amount of time they spend together. Everyone already knows when either of them get married Yoonmi would be Jungkook’s best man or Jungkook would be her Maid of Honor.
Iconic Moment: Jungkook hosted one of his early morning Weverse lives from her kitchen, cooking himself something to eat. At around four AM, the sound of a door opening and closing made him look to the side where he froze and smiled brightly. You hear her go, “Oppa, again? When did you get in my house?” and he just, “Three hours ago. Ramen?” “I’ll just grab some water and go back to sleep. Don’t wake Yoonseol.” And everyone was surprised. It was common knowledge that they went to each other’s apartments often, but they just revealed Jungkook goes to her place just whenever he wants because either he knows the code or has his fingerprint in her lock.

COOK WITH ME, YEAH? || ep.1 my ride or die, my other half
uploaded on january 15, 2024 to the bangtantv youtube channel and weverse. dialogue in italics are spoken in english
content warning: mentions tannies’ enlistments and separation anxiety (please tell me if i missed something)
Tumblr media
miya: “hi everyone! welcome to my new series: cook with me, yeah?”
she started clapping, even cheering a little bit before reality hit her
she sighed and looked off camera
miya: “you know, you could cheer for me”
jungkook: “you said you’d do the intro before introducing me!”
she got the folded cloth from next to her on her kitchen counter and threw it towards the direction of the voice
there was a yelp, laughter, then cut back to a smiling yoonmi
miya: “i’m very open about my friends, and armys like to see that, so i decided to start this series and introduce some of my friends to you guys while cooking with them! while cooking, we’ll be answering first few set questions i’m always asked on weverse or instagram when i post with my friends, then a few questions more specific to us as friends that i found on twitter by lurking”
while she was talking, a few pictures of her with her various friends were shown on screen
she held up her phone when mentioning the set questions
she lifted a small fish bowl with slips of paper holding questions when mentioning the more specific ones
miya: “this friend, well, i’ve known him since i was eleven. nine? we use international age now… anyway!”
she trailed off a little before laughing and waving her hand
miya: “we met as preteens, now we’re in our twenties. i literally can’t imagine life without him, he became my ride or die, and, because of how we were raised, he practically became my big emo-punk-looking soft boy other half. the oppas think we could have been twins in another life”
there’s soft thumps sounding from off camera
she looks over and starts laughing
miya: “he’s cringing and punching a pillow right now. everyone, welcome the person i’m sure you are all missing by the time this releases, jungkookie oppa!”
jungkook jogs in in his pastel pink apron cheering for himself while yoonmi clapped for him
jungkook did a little slide then a spin before bowing
yoonmi laughed at him, shoving him to the side
jungkook shoves her back then the video cuts to them standing together relatively calmly
jungkook: “i brought you chardonnay. i thought it would pair well with carbonara”
miya: “this looks good!”
jungkook passed her a two bottles of chardonnay, which she gratefully accepted
she pulled up two wine glasses and poured them some
they clinked their glasses together and finished their first glasses then she refilled them, setting them to a corner of the counter
miya: “like kookie oppa said, we’re making carbonara. want to explain why?”
jungkook: “namjoon hyung. he always talked about enjoying the carbonara in italy. mimi and i were talking about it when she was conceptializing these videos, so we decided to try”
miya: “shall we start, oppa?”
jungkook: “let’s go!”
the video cut to a clip of her filling a pot with water
there’s a clip of jungkook cutting up a slab of guanciale into cubes
when did you meet and what were your first impressions of each other?
miya: “contrary to popular belief, kookie oppa was very straightforward and blunt with me”
jungkook: “why? we became friends because of me”
miya: “i know! but people think we didn’t start talking until like weeks later”
jungkook snorted and looked at her while she added oil and salt into the pot over a flame
she looked at him
then she poked him with one of the uncooked noodles, which he swatted away
he turned on the other side of the stove and placed a pan on it, waiting for it to heat up
jungkook: “you were the only girl in the boys classes at the time. i thought you would be a vocal, but namjoon hyung said you were a rapper, so i was surprised. then i heard your satoori and got curious to find another busan kid in the company”
miya: “and you went straight up to me when you entered the training room. i was a little scared of you, but not really? i just didn’t know what to expect”
she brought out eggs and a bowl of pecorino romano cheese
jungkook started frying the guanciale
what are your names for each other in your cellphones?
miya: “kookie oppa? i have him saved as ‘ride or die’ with, like, the praise hands emoji”
jungkook: “i have mimi as ‘princess crazy’ with a crown”
she gave him a look, and he just gave her a smile
there’s a close up shot of the guanciale frying and a clip of jungkook trying it
there’s a clip of yoonmi trying it, too
there’s then a clip of her cracking the last of the eggs into the cheese, adding pepper, then starting to whisk everything together
describe each other in one word
jungkook: “yoonmi is music”
miya: “what?”
jungkook: “you literally live and breathe music. you're in your studio all the time, you always look for music to add to your playlists, and it seems like everything you do is very musical. the way you move in general has a rhythm, and the way you speak has a melody"
miya: "... you're nice to me today"
jungkook: "so i deserve a nice answer"
he took the pan off the heat and took the bowl and whisk from her
he gave her an expectant look while whisking while she just thought while fixing the pasta into the now boiling water
miya: "i think you're excellence. everything you do, you do it very well and to the best of your abilities. when you find something you struggle with, you work your hardest to become good at it. you're practically excellence as a person"
they met eyes then cringed before laughing
jungkook exaggerated his aggression with whisking the contents of the bowl while yoonmi walked off to the side
the video cuts to them clinking glasses and drinking their glasses of wine, now just waiting for the pasta to cook
what’s your favorite memory together?
jungkook: "that's hard to answer, mimi"
miya: "true, we've been friends for so long and together almost daily, so there's way too much to choose from"
jungkook sipped at his wine again
jungkook: “maybe when we wrote ‘stay’? do you remember that?”
miya: "when we slept in my studio for like three days?"
jungkook: "we cried, made jokes, watched movies, didn't namjoon hyung physically drag us to eat food that wasn't instant ramen?”
they laughed at the memory
yoonmi lit up at a thought
miya: "oppa, vegas!"
jungkook: "oh yeah! you weren't legal in america yet, so you couldn't go to the ptd parties in the bars"
miya: "but you took me around vegas for food and to look at all the different light and water shows! it may sound boring, but we had a lot of fun there"
there's a clip of yoonmi gently stirring the pasta then of jungkook pouring more wine for them
how often do you two have sleepovers?
jungkook hummed while thinking
jungkook: “a lot, actually. i slept over at mimi's a lot for a while to help her take care of yoonseollie and the puppies back before she graduated. nowadays, we sleepover in each other's house just whenever we feel like it"
miya: "yeah, but we still see each other almost everyday even without the sleepovers. oppa, the pan?"
there's a closeup of jungkook placing the guanciale from the pan onto a spare plate
what was it like working on jungkook’s solo album together?
jungkook: "oh, yoonmi wrote ‘yes or no’ back in 2018, if you all know what was going on then"
he wiggled his eyebrows at the camera, making shove him to the side
he pulled her into a noogie while she squeaked in surprise and started to hit his arm
jungkook: "she was falling in love! this kid! look at her, falling in love so young!"
miya: "oppa, let go!"
jungkook: "i still remember the first time you admitted you might have been in love"
miya: "oppa!"
she stomped on his foot, making him let go
she was fixing her hair while he laughed at her
miya: “in all seriousness, oppa told me right away when he started pulling golden together that he wanted to use ‘yes or no’ and to have me feature on a track he’d promote, so i edited ‘yes or no’ just a bit then i listened to ‘seven’ to start writing my verse.”
jungkook: "it was comfortable, you know? a sense of familiarity. then i wanted to make a song for army, and mimi actually translates my thoughts best, so we wrote please don't change together in a music style similar to one we've been listening to a lot. you know songs used for dancehall?"
miya: "I've been listening to a lot of latin and afro beat music"
there's a clip of yoonmi tasting one of the noodles
and there's a clip of jungkook throwing one at her wall (it stuck)
she looked at him then threw a noodle at his face, which he ate
does bam play with yoonmi’s pets?
yoonmi transferred the noodles into the pan where the guanciale was cooked, turning the heat on high
jungkook stepped back and gave a loud whistle
there were pitter patters of feet running, and you see bam and dipper running in
jungkook bent to pet the dogs
jungkook: "you don't see her, but nala is here, too"
miya: "our pets are siblings. they all go to stay with my brother or kookie oppa's brother when both of us are busy, so they bond a lot"
she turned the stove off then opened the freezer jungkook looked up and pointed at something yoonmi pulled out a small tray with frozen treats
they gave them to the dogs who all scattered away after receiving treats then they washed their hands
miya: "this next part needs extreme focus, so excuse us for being silent for a moment"
jungkook: "mimi, i think the pan is the right temperature"
there's a clip of jungkook pouring the sauce and adding the guanciale into the noodles while yoonmi mixed it
jungkook placed the bowl down
yoonmi looked at him, so he got a bit of the pasta water and added it into the pan
there's a close up of the pasta being stirred
there's a closeup of jungkook plating the pasta
the video cuts to them sitting on the floor in front of her couch, their plates of pasta and glasses of wine in front of them
but jimin is now with them
miya: “jiminie oppa is here!"
the three of them cheer while jimin waves
he puts his arm around the two maknaes, bringing them closer to him and rubbing his head with theirs
jimin: “my busan babies! my cute babies made me pasta”
jungkook: "hyung, let go!"
they're all speaking through laughs
yoonmi speaks up
miya: "jimin oppa is here to try our pasta, and he has the special honor of reading us the last question! but first, have a bite, oppa”
yoonmi handed him the third plate while jungkook handed him a fork
jimin twirls a bit of the pasta onto the fork, laughing a little about how awkward it was to do that while the two were watching him
he takes a bite, tilting his head before humming in approval
he swallowed and looked at the two
jimin: "this tastes really good, babies! i think it's a 100 out of 100!"
she grinned while jungkook handed him his glass of wine
yoonmi held up the fishbowl of questions for him while placing the plate back on the table
miya: "now the last question, oppa"
jimin stuck his hand into the bowl, swirling it around while giggling at the two maknaes
he pulls one out and reads it to himself first before chuckling and taking another sip of wine
jimin: "I'm curious, too, actually"
jungkook: "then read the question, hyung”
how does it feel knowing jungkook is about to enlist?
yoonmi visibly tensed while jungkook’s head snapped to the side to look at her
jimin put his free arm around her and rubbed her arm comfortingly
miya: “i’ve been seeing my therapist about this, and she said it would be a challenge for me. the oppas and i always talk and hangout, especially me and ggukoo oppa who talk to each other daily and see each other almost everyday. i’m honestly scared, but i’ll have to push through. i can do it. i think i can”
jungkook: “i’m honestly very sad about this. mimi and i are used to going to each other for almost any and everything we can think of, and we have gotten used to each other a lot. while i am worried about her given her separation anxiety, i’m also a little scared for myself, especially for the five weeks of basic training where i won't be able to talk to or be updated with her at all”
jimin: “don’t worry, babies. i have people to watch over our princess, i’ll be watching over jungkookie, and this will all pass by very quickly. just you wait”
jimin leaned his head on jungkook’s then turned to kiss the top of yoonmi’s head
the video cuts to them with finished plates and empty glasses, all smiling towards the camera
yoonmi, now seated in the middle, spoke
miya: “that brings an end to this first episode of cook with me, yeah? thank you to kookie oppa and jiminie oppa for coming to spend the day with me! if any one of you would like to try what we made at home, the recipe will be in the description! see you next episode!”
the three of them wave to the camera, then the video cuts to black
after a few seconds, jimin appears sitting in what looks like yoonmi’s home office with a question along the bottom of the screen
what do you think of miya and jungkook’s friendship?
jimin: “it’s a treasure. you don’t see friendships like theirs often where they’re raised together by the same group of people while experiencing the same things. our maknae and makdungie developed a connection over the years that us hyungs and oppas ourselves can’t understand, but they understand each other, they have fun, they keep each other in line, and they do love each other. i’m pretty sure they were twins in another life. but, yes, their friendship is like a rare treasure”

[1:42pm kst, 231212, wc: 783]
(content warning: jimin and kookie’s enlistment)
conversations written in italics are in english
The bustling of the crowd sounded like a blur to her. All she could do was watch the last two of her members get ready for their entrance ceremony. She watched as Yoongi and Hoseok gave them some last pre-enlistment pep talks and as Seokjin approached them with a joking serious attitude before breaking into a large grin and a fit of giggles.
The internal fight of keeping a smile on her face for pictures was one of the hardest things she had done in recent times, yet she pushed herself to do it for her members. Not only was it the last of her members today, it was also her Busan boys.
“I’m gonna miss you,” she gave Jimin the tightest hug she could muster while rubbing her hand against his buzzcut. “Message me when you can. I know it’ll be at least five weeks, but send me proof of life.”
“I promise, Aegi,” he kissed the side of her head before letting go and bending down to look her in the eye. “You just keep messaging me like we agreed, okay? Everything that happens, I want to know. I’ll catch up right when I’m allowed to check my phone again. Got it?”
She nodded, lips pressed into a tight smile. He straightened himself before giving her a salute, the way he did to his family earlier. She bowed to him, muttering a thank you for looking over her and their country before she was pulled into his arms again.
“One more hug before I go,” he gave her a tight squeeze before letting her go. “I love you, my Busan baby.”
“I love you, too,” she grinned. “For the record, your haircut looks amazing on you.”
If the smallest increase of his smile came from her comment, she was proud
“Makdung-ah,” Hoseok called to her, “come wish Jungkookie good luck.”
Yoonmi took a deep breath as she slowly but steadily walked over to them. This was probably the goodbye (although temporary) that she was least ready for.
She made it to them, looking at her feet, not knowing what would happen if she met Jungkook’s eyes.
“Hey,” Jungkook laughed, “stop being a coward, and look me in the eye, Mimi.”
She rolled her eyes at him and looked at Hoseok with an accusatory expression. Hoseok simply laughed and gestured to look at Jungkook. She did, which she almost immediately regretted.
Twelve years of friendship and being by each other’s side almost every single day flew through her mind at such a rapid pace that she almost got whiplash.
This person standing in front of her has been her number one ride or die best friend for more than half her life. The longest they had been apart from each other that she could remember was two weeks, but they’d usually spend every day or every other day together for the past four years.
And there he was, getting ready to enter military camp where they wouldn’t be able to talk for a while and wouldn’t be able to freely meet each other as often for an even longer time.
She knew these thoughts weren’t just hers, his eyes were watering as well.
“Come here,” he pulled her into a hug, letting her wrap her arms around his neck while he enveloped her around her waist, lifting her up off the ground just the slightest bit.
“You take care of yourself and Jiminie oppa in there, okay?” she mumbled into his clothes, not wanting to look up because tears were threatening to escape her eyes already.
“Only if you remind Haechan that he’ll never beat me on your best friend tier even when I’m away for over a year,” he chuckled, squeezing her tight.
She laughed, though it was strained by her starting to cry, “Of course. It’s you and me, best friends in the entire universe.”
She didn’t bring attention to how she could feel warmth drip onto her neck, just under where his eyes were. It was another two minutes of them just basking in each other’s company before Seokjin approached them, tapping their shoulders.
“As much as I don’t want to do this,” Seokjin gave them an apologetic smile, “we have to separate you two babies. They have to go in now.”
The two maknaes reluctantly released each other.
Yoonmi reached up to wipe Jungkook’s already barely noticeable tears away. “Go and intimidate all those military people with your muscles and tattoos.”
“You know it,” he laughed and violently ruffled her hair, making her laugh. “I love you. See you on the other side, Mimi.”
“See you on the other side,” she smiled at him. “I love you, too.”

yoonmi is met with an unfortunate ex-family related situation
It wasn’t getting out of hand.
No, there was no way Yoonmi would admit to that. Her members believed in her, so she didn’t want to disappoint them. She promised her teachers that she would stay on top of her work, so she would always give work of the best quality so she could graduate on time next February, and she promised Haechan she’d graduate with him. She committed herself to the different staff and companies she was working with, so she wouldn’t slack off on her responsibilities. People on the internet were coming after her again for suddenly accepting acting gigs, so she was going to prove to them her abilities and talent.
Therefore, she would not admit that she was being overworked.
She’d been eating well enough by her standards, thus deciding to skip out on taking any of her supplements. She always forgot about them anyway. Besides, the members, though more lenient now, still somehow managed her eating and sleeping well enough.
She’d be fine. She just had to focus on the task at hand, which was acting calm in the face of going back to the same place she originally grew up in.
England.
Given she was going to London instead of Newcastle, but she knew her biological parents had based their companies in London. They had shown up and made a mess of her life before, which thankfully led to her being accepted into a big loving family with a mom, a dad, another older brother, and two younger siblings.
However, it took a long time for her to be relatively okay after that. If the whole situation a few months prior said anything, her thoughts and reactions had been completely affected by what her birth givers did to her.
It’s totally normal for her to be scared that they would show up, right? But, if they did show up, she had to keep it together. She shouldn’t show them any weakness.
“Hey,” Jungkook nudged her while pulling her hands from her thighs and placing his hoodie-covered arm under her hands instead. Her nails were digging into her skin, and she didn’t notice. She didn’t even notice Jungkook was awake. “We’re going to have some free time to explore, alright? Let’s get you de-stressed before the concert, then we can have fun with ARMY.”
She pursed her lips, “It’s not that….”
“I know,” he whispered to keep from the others overhearing just in case they were awake, “you’re worried about seeing them, aren’t you?”
“They turned my life to shit multiple times, they can do it again.”
Jungkook’s sigh didn’t escape her ears, especially since he moved to make her head rest on his shoulder. It was only then when she realized she was pressing her fingers quite hard into his sleeve which, despite having a thick cover, probably still hurt at least a little bit.
A quiet apology flew past her lips while she curled her arms into herself. Jungkook took it upon himself to put Iron Man 2 on for them. He plugged their earphones into the dual adaptor and placed one in her ear and the other in her hand.
“We won’t let them,” Jungkook reassured her. “You’ve got us backing you, your siblings and new family, your friends, and the law.”
“It’s not like I have a restraining order,” she shrugged, “I just got emancipated then adopted.”
“Well, one wrong breath in your direction,” Jungkook began, “and Yoongi hyung, Yoonsung hyung, and Chan are gonna file a restraining order.”
She laughed and let herself relax into her seat. Her trio of overprotective big brothers, as Jungkook not so fondly called them, were a force not to be reckoned with if they were all angry for the same reason, and she took comfort in the fact that they had her back.
A poke in her dimple brought her out of her thoughts, making her turn to meet eyes with a satisfied Jungkook. She laughed, knowing he took pleasure in making her forget about the people who she thought were her family so long ago. He just turned back to the screen in front of them and hoped for the best.
Tumblr media
The concert went by smoothly until they got off the stage and finished taking their pictures for the day. Manager Sejin approached her with a serious look on his face, pulling her and Namjoon to the side.
“You’re not going to like this,” he shows them his phone with her biological mother’s sports training center website on the screen.
It wasn’t just that. Right on the home screen, almost taking up the full phone screen, it was a picture of Yoonmi on stage just earlier. It was an impressive feat, having someone both take and edit the photo within an hour at maximum (considering it was her in the first set’s outfit), but she couldn’t find it in herself to be impressed.
What was this?
For years, she had just wanted to make her birthgiver and sperm donor proud of her, but they never approved because her methods were “not in line with the family image” or something stupid like that. The very same argument they used as the final deciding factor in disowning her seemed to not matter to them as half of them used her picture—in the profession they disapproved of—for promotional material.
Apparently that wasn’t it because, as soon as Sejin switched tabs, it was her picture on the front page of his motor-sport business’s website.
Yoonmi let out an emotionless laugh, making her leader and manager look at her in worry. “This has to be a joke.”
“Hyung,” Namjoon addressed the manager, “have you reached out to legal? We have to get these pictures down. No way are we associating with those people.”
“They’re working on filing a lawsuit as we speak. It helps that they illegally brought in a proffesional camera not permitted by the company despite the clear guidelines saying not to.”
Namjoon nodded in approval before turning to Yoonmi. She had gone silent, staring off into space as she processed what was happening. He quietly asked manager Sejin to bring the rest of the boys back to the hotel and not tell them about what was going on while he spoke to Yoonmi alone.
“Hey,” he rested a hand on her head for a bit before letting it slide down until he could gently pat her cheek, “you okay, Yoon-ah? Legal’s working on it, don’t worry.”
“I can’t believe they’re doing this,” she muttered, looking down. “They fought so viciously to get me to quit being an idol, and now they’re using my status as one in order to promote their companies? After they disowned me?”
Namjoon brought her into a hug, rubbing her shoulder. She didn’t return the hug. She didn’t move at all.
“Neither of their companies even relate to my job, they’re being so stupid about this,” her voice was on the verge of breaking, and Namjoon could feel her tears starting to soak into his shirt, “This is so stupid.”
Knowing she defaulted to English when in distress, Namjoon spoke in the foreign tongue as well. “Do you want to talk about it?”
There was a shake of her head.
“Do you want to be alone?”
A nod.
“Do you want me to stay with you?”
For a moment, Namjoon didn’t get a response, which worried him greatly. He made the slightest move indicating he would step out of the hug, but her hands went up to grip his shirt while she nodded.
With a sigh of relief, he gently maneuvered her so she was tucked under his arm on his side and led her over to one of the spare green rooms. He looked at one of the staff members standing by the door while he stepped in with her.
“Could you grab us our stuff, please?”
The staff member nodded her head. “I’ll order you kids some food, too.”
With a nod of thanks, he shut the door behind her then brought Yoonmi over to the couch. He sat against the armrest and the backboard of the couch with his legs up, letting Yoonmi settle in front of him and hide her face in his shirt. All he could do for her while she didn’t talk was be there for her. He was her guardian, her leader, and her brother. He needed to be a pillar she could depend on.
He couldn’t let her feel the anger rising in him.
Yoonmi’s tears were silent. As much as she wanted to thrash around and throw a tantrum despite being in her late teens already, she didn’t want to give the satisfaction to her biological parents of breaking her to that degree once again.
It had been three years since they cut her off, and not once did they try to contact her. She was happy. There was no feeling of restraint anymore because her big brother and her grandmother still loved her, she had a new family to call her own, the brothers she found in her group mates had a stronger bond than ever and were set to renew their contracts in a few weeks, hell she even made friends and got a boyfriend who genuinely cared for her.
So why?
Why would they come back into her life at this moment? Why would they want to use her like that? Especially how they made it clear that being an idol was not proper? She thought she was finally free from them, but here they were. It felt like they were starting a new vicious cycle of tearing her down right when she was reaching peak happiness.
The vibrations from Namjoon’s phone distracted her from her thoughts. He must have had so many people looking for him given the fact they were headed to Amsterdam soon and he needed to approve a few final details for Waste It On Me, but he stayed there with her, not even looking at his phone. All his attention was on her and just being there for her.
Yoonmi pressed her head closer to his chest, listening to the thumps of his heart. It was steady and constant, something she needed.
“Thank you for staying with me,” she muttered, hands reaching up to wipe the tear stains off her face.
Her sudden words after a little over thirty minutes of silence jolted Namjoon. “Of course. I’m always going to be here for you, okay?”
She sat up, looking at her leader with an expression he could only describe as guilt and hurt mixed together. He fixed himself, swinging his legs over her head with a sound effect from his mouth to try and lighten her mood. A smile broke onto her face, which was a win for him.
“There’s that smile,” he placed his hand on her head, lightly rubbing her hair with her thumb before taking it back. “Do you want to talk about it now?”
“There’s nothing much I can say,” she shrugged. “I’m hurt, they’re being hypocritical, and I don’t want to be associated with them. Is the legal team…?
Namjoon nodded, “They’re handling it as we speak.”
“Good,” she nodded, relaxing a little. “By any chance, can we see if they’re using Yoonsung oppa’s company in any similar way? I mean, his company did blow up last year.”
The leader nodded once again before tapping the side of her leg. “Of course. Anything else I can do to make you feel better?”
“Just be here?”
He smiled and opened his arms for a hug, which she gladly gave, cuddling into her leader. He was never the most affectionate of her members, far from it, but he was probably the most comfortable and reassuring member to hug objectively speaking.
“Don’t worry, Princess,” Namjoon’s rare use of that specific nickname made her smile and sink further into the hug, “You’ve got me and the whole of Bangtan at your side. Those people have no idea what’s coming for them, and you’ll certainly be millions richer when this is all over.”
She actually let out a laugh at that. Namjoon stood up with a smile and held his hand out for her.
“Let’s go grab our stuff and our food so we can stop the others from worrying.”
The faint sound of Jimin and Taehyung yelling her and Namjoon’s names reached their ears.
They exchanged a look before Yoonmi spoke. “Too late.”

Yoonmi shifted in her seat as Jungkook tugged at the knots in her hair. He had been brushing it out for the past ten minutes just so he could braid it, but it seemed like the tangles were never-ending.
“Would you sit still?”
“Not with you pulling my hair like that,” she huffed and took the brush from him. “This is why I told you I’d do it.”
She could see Jungkook roll his eyes at her through the mirror before he moved to sit on the desk facing her. They weren’t too busy that afternoon, so they had decided to just chill in the company and maybe work on choreography together just for fun. But Yoonmi’s hair was proving to be a difficulty.
“How does all of this not get in the way on stage?” He fluffed her hair a little. “You can barely hold back this thick mess with tiny bands and little clips.”
“It’s called skill.” The two maknaes laughed at that.
More so than usual, the two have been spending their time together. Mostly it was Yoonmi dragging Jungkook along with her online shopping. A new hobby, yes. One that she picked up from her eldest brother. Of course, being someone who supports her brother’s business, she had been browsing through the brands he was partners with.
While the promotions for Butter and Permission to Dance were enjoyable, and the interviews were progressively becoming less about her being a girl in a boy group, she found herself getting bored too frequently. It didn’t help that they didn’t get to promote on music shows. She would have at least gotten to see her friends more often, but she was stuck with the back and forth between the dorms and the company.
That’s why she found browsing through the categories in her brother’s business quite amusing. Well, that and convincing the other members to let her do their make up.
“Get over here,” Jungkook pulled her to stand in front of him. “You know what? We’re gonna put you in a ponytail instead. I want to show you this thing I saw on tiktok.”
She snorted. “If it’s Heartbreak Anniversary, you should know that I taught that to Ni-ki a few months ago.”
“Dammit.” He pulled over a ribbon she had brought with her and made sure to tie it at the base of her ponytail. “Well then let’s just do the one of the TXT kids. The Anti-Romantic one.”
“You and Hannah unnie have been sending each other too many tiktoks,” she laughed as her phone rang. Jungkook just smacked the side of her head, to which she retaliated with smacking his leg and picking up her phone.
“Hello?” Her voice was laced with laughter as she picked up.
“Yoonmi-ah,” a familiar voice filled her ears. It was Yoonsung. As happy as she was to hear him call, he sounded worried. “Don’t panic, okay?”
“What do you mean don’t panic? What’s wrong?”
Jungkook turned to look at her in curiosity. She put her phone on speaker and faced him fully.
“I need you to look after Yoonseol for a bit,” her brother told her. “Can you come over?”
“Sure,” she nodded as Jungkook started packing their stuff up in a rush. However, the urgency in her brother’s voice made her nervous. “What’s going on?”
“Eunsol,” his hesitation made both Jungkook and Yoonmi freeze in worry for the pregnant woman, “she’s in the delivery room right now. It looks like your nephew decided to come two weeks early.”
Her jaw dropped as she met eyes with Jungkook. A quiet communication between them occured as Jungkook picked up both their stuff and dug his keys out of his bag. She turned to her phone and followed her best friend as they raced from the practice room to the parking lot.
“We’ll be right there. Are you in Ansan as planned?”
“Yeah. Thank god her doctor was available.”
“We’ll be right there, don’t worry.”
Tumblr media
They arrived at the hospital much quicker than they expected. The two left Jungkook’s car and raced towards the receptionist, making sure to try and adjust the masks on their faces so they wouldn’t be too noticeable.
“Excuse me,” Jungkook began, “what room is Kim Yoonsung and Han Eunseol in?”
The receptionist raised an eyebrow at them. “I can only give that information to family.”
“I’m their sister,” Yoonmi took out her card. “My legal name is Bang Yoonmi, you can check Eunseol unnie’s records. I’m listed as an emergency contact under Yoonsung oppa.”
The receptionist turned to his computer and began searching through files. Yoonmi’s hands went up to tug at the ends of her hair. He was taking too long. She turned to Jungkook, who merely pressed his lips into a tight line and lightly pulled her hand away from her hair.
“Ah,” the receptionist’s sudden sound of acknowledgement caught their attention, “there you are. Okay, go ahead. Room 613 in the East wing.”
“Thank you!”
The two quickly took off towards the building and got into the elevator. It was then when she had a realization. She snorted, calling Jungkook’s attention. Upon his curious look, she spoke.
“Room 613. Seems like a good omen, huh?”
“That, or your sister’s doctor has a good sense of humor.”
Once the elevator doors opened, the two raced down the hall and straight to the room. She knocked on the door, weight shifting from left to right as she waited for it to open. Which it did, revealing her niece.
“Yoonseol!” Yoonmi pulled the five-year-old into a hug. “Were you here all alone? Where’s your mom and dad?”
She didn’t notice the nurse coming out of the room and Jungkook asking her about Eunseol.
“I’m okay, unnie,” the little girl smiled. “Nurse Lee kept me company. I think daddy’s fetching Hanseollie. Nurse Lee says he’s gonna be ready to play with soon!”
Yoonmi sighed at the sound of no bad news. She briefly thanked the nurse who was walking away and ushered the little girl inside. Yoonseol went straight back to the bed to watch whatever was playing on the laptop open there.
A sigh escaped past her lips as she slumped onto the couch of the room. Her body felt lighter yet heavier at the same time. Was it okay for her nephew to be born this early? Or was two weeks okay? Did something happen to him? Or to Eunseol?
A hand on her knee brought her out of her thoughts. Once she looked up, she saw Jungkook giving her a pointed look. Another sigh left her mouth as she let herself fall onto his side and rest her head on his shoulder.
“Stop worrying so much,” he spoke to her in hushed whispers, “and breathe. I asked the nurse what was going on. Apparently Hanseol and Eunseol noona are both healthy. Hanseol is just a little excited.”
“It’s hard not to worry when unnie’s due date was supposed to be on the 27th.” She closed her eyes tightly. “I was planning to be there with her and Yoonsung oppa.”
“Noona will be fine, she has hyung by her side,” the elder squeezed her knee. “She’ll be fine. Now why don’t you go on over and watch whatever cartoon it is Seollie is watching. You need the distraction. I’m going to go get us food, all right?”
With that, she felt him push her up and over to the bed. Yoonseol clapped excitedly to see her settle on the bed as well. She watched quietly as Jungkook bent down a little and ruffled Yoonseol’s hair.
“You hungry, Seollie?” he asked her. “Want any specific food?”
“Mcdonald’s!”
“You got it,” Jungkook chuckled and pinched the little girl’s cheek. He turned to Yoonmi and thumped her head, to which she frowned at. “You, get a hold of yourself. I’ll be back in a bit.”
She rolled her eyes as her best friend walked out of the room. But a smile made its way onto her face. Her nephew, her godson in particular, was about to be born. She couldn’t wait.
Tumblr media
The sound of the door opening woke her up.
Yoonmi sleepily rubbed at her eyes as she slowly pulled her arm from under Yoonseol’s head. A hand lightly caressed her hair, grabbing her attention. Looking to her left, her brother stood there. A gentle smile rested on his face as he waited for her to fully wake up.
“Oppa,” she mumbled.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” A warm and welcoming feeling filled her as she felt Yoonsung lightly kiss the top of her head. “Someone wants to meet you. Come with me, let’s let these two sleep first.”
She looked at her brother then at Yoonseol sleeping next to her and Jungkook sleeping by the bed, head next to Yoonseol’s hand. He must have fallen asleep as well while exchanging stories with the little girl.
Yoonsung’s quiet hum caught her attention once again. He gestured for her to follow him out the door, which she did. The walk was quiet, partially because Yoonsung was still basking in the fact he had another kid and Yoonmi still not quite getting a grasp of herself. She didn’t even notice as he brought her into a small room with one large glass window going from one side of the wall to the other.
A small gasp escaped her as she looked through the glass. Babies. Multiple babies were all lying there, freshly bathed, swaddled, and (most importantly) newly born. Her eyes followed the line of babies along the far end of the room on the other side of the glass until they were drawn to one specific crib.
The crib was the only one pushed close to the glass. It was relatively small, decorated in blue stickers on the outside and blue cushions on the inside. The baby that laid in it looked healthy and somewhat big. It had familiar features on its face, lips that already held the smile she was all too familiar with, and a nose she loved to poke as she grew up. Then her eyes were drawn to the name tag.
Kim Hanseol.
Her hand made its way to cover her mouth in shock as she processed what she saw.
“Yoonmi,” Yoonsung placed a hand on her shoulder, “meet your godson. Hanseol.”
She walked closer to the glass, lightly resting her fingertips on it as if the baby boy could feel her touch. This was different from when Yoonseol was born. This time around, Yoonmi wasn’t distracted, and there was no struggle. This time, it was her godchild as well.
“He really is your godson,” her older brother chuckled as he lightly stroked her shoulder with his thumb. “I was ten at the time, and I watched them panic. It was two months before your due date, but you were in a rush to see the world.”
He moved closer to her and draped an arm around her shoulders. Her eyes wouldn’t stray away from the baby, though, even as Yoonsung considered speaking to her.
“You were so small. I could’ve fit you into a shoe box. I was scared because I didn’t know if you’d be able to handle the world we were a part of. The way I was raised. But you were a strong little thing. Aced your classes, joined multiple extracurriculars, found your niche. Yoonseol is on her way to becoming like you, and I hope little Hanseol will, as well.”
Something dripped down her face. A tear. She didn’t even notice. It was so sudden, but so many things washed over her. The reassurance that her godson was safe, the excitement to see him growing up, the warmth of her brother.
“We’ve got a new life to bring into ours,” she smiled while wrapping her arms around Yoonsung’s waist and resting her head on his chest. “Seollie’s gonna love him.”

vibe with us! 🐰🦊💜
vlive 210522, 11:30pm
jungkook and yoonmi go live to vibe to yoonmi’s streaming playlist for butter
italic conversations are spoken in english
Tumblr media
the live starts with butter playing in the background and an empty screen showing yoonmi’s room
the moment jungkook’s lines start though, the two maknaes appear from opposite ends of the screen, lipsyncing a little overdramatically
they move a little further back so you can see the two doing random dances, jungkook even bouncing on her bed every now and then
the song ends and switches to love like oxygen by shinee
she laughs and sits next to jungkook in front of the actual live
“looks like we’ve got a lot of people here, oppa” “looks like it. don’t you think they’re wondering what we’re doing?” “simple. we’re streaming butter on spotify, and we’re gonna vibe with you guys for one round of the playlist i made”
the sound of the door opening makes the two maknaes get distracted and look to the side
suddenly a big ball of fur goes straight for yoonmi, and a significantly smaller fluffball jumps onto jungkook
“sorry, guys! they were about to start knocking on your door!” “no problem, jimin hyung!”
yoonmi is in giggles while her big dog is doing his best to cuddle her while jungkook is trying to calm the cocker spaniel from licking his face
it took the whole song before dipper settled next to yoonmi’s chair with his head on her lap while nala just sat on jungkook’s lap all satisfied with herself
it was now finesse by bruno mars and cardi b playing
“i almost forgot your dogs were here” jungkook was fondly ruffling the smaller dog’s fur
“dipper is literally a giant, and you forgot he was here?” “in my defense, he was in the other room with jimin hyung and v hyung the moment yoonsung hyung dropped them off here” “true… hey, should we read comments?” “already on it”
are there any behind stories from the butter filming?
“i glued the fake piercings onto your eyebrow, didn’t i, oppa?” “you also fell you spun a little too much in the elevator scene” “... we don’t talk about that”
jungkook was laughing at her while she pretended to sulk
he poked her side which made her laugh so they just started humming along to the song
they both sang the “shut shit down on sight” bit before exchanging a look and burst into laughter. they’d just pretend they didn’t curse for the rest of the live
how are you guys?
“we’re doing great, actually! i cut my hair for the summer”
yoonmi reached out and played with his hair a little bit “should i cut my hair, too” “i have honestly never seen you with hair shorter than your shoulders” “long hair suits me”
yoonmi doing cardi b’s part and jungkook just “yeah you know we got it going on!”
they laughed and high fived each other
it went back to butter when yoonmi got an idea. she lightly nudged dipper’s head off of her leg and had him move to where she and jungkook were. she raised her arm up while jungkook turned to watch. dipper then went on his hind legs, arms up, slightly moving
the maknaes burst into giggles at the sight of the dog “dancing”
jungkook went next to them and knelt on the ground before doing the same trick with nala
“mimi trains her dogs quite well” “my babies are dancers, guys!”
eventually, yoonmi led dipper up to her bed, nala following after and curling up to dipper’s side. jungkook gave them both treats before following yoonmi to their chairs
“oppa, hobi oppa’s part!”
the two did the dance in their chairs, big smiles on their faces while their laughs slipped out of their mouths every now and then
they sang the last line together
“GET IT LET IT ROLL!”
it starts playing irreplaceable by nct dream which leads to jungkook bobbing his head with a fond smile on his face. he sang along a little bit, draping an arm around yoonmi and looking over her shoulder while reading the comments as well
“the boys did well on this album” “they really did!” “i can’t believe they had two songs with you working on it. what were they? rainbow and my youth?”
she laughed and nodded before rapping along to the second verse
how’s your incoming nephew?
“great! ggukoo oppa is a lot more excited than i am, though. do you know he already bought a bunch of little baby toys.” “this is why i’m eunsol noona’s favorite” “suuuuure”
jungkook took his arm and lightly shoved her to the side, making her laugh. she shoved him back a little harder, so he did the same to her before taking her spare blanket and wrapping it around her body
“oppa!” “sit still, mimi”
she struggled while jungkook tied the blanket up
she sulked once he finished and gave a done look to the live while jungkook sat back satisfied with himself
“you letting me out anytime soon?” “nope”
the song then switches to michael jackson’s pretty young thing
jungkook looks through the comments while yoonmi struggles out of the blanket next to him
“ggukoo oppa obviously doesn’t love me, i can’t get out of this” “hush, here’s a question”
can you spoil txt’s album just a little? moas know you helped on it, miya
she sighed and looked at jungkook “say you love me, then maybe i will” “um, i love you?” “now untie me”
jungkook did just that. yoonmi took her time with stretching her limbs before smirking and looking at the live
“SIKE!”
behind them, nala jumped up in surprise, catching their attention. they laughed at the scared looking dog as she buried herself under dipper’s arm
they turned back to the live, yoonmi isolating her head side to side in time with the song’s beat. jungkook caught on and did the same thing. they spent a while just doing that before turning back to the questions to look for something to answer
this is a no context vlive, isn’t it?
“very much, yeah” “mimi dragged me from my games to do nothing but listen to songs on vlive— oh! it’s butter again!” “duh, this is a streaming playlist. i’m taking this time to bond with army, right guys?”
jungkook just raised his eyebrow at her before tapping her heart and asking her to get up with him. she looked at him curiously before laughing and nodding. they proceeded to do the choreo, resulting in a mini performance from the two of them until the end of the song
they were in giggles then yoonmi heard the next song
“ayyyyeeee levitating!” “dua lipa?” “yupp!” “if you wanna runaway with me…”
she vibed in her chair, singing along to the song, jungkook joining at the pre-chorus until the chorus. they were messing around with harmonies, unsurprisingly sounding good despite not taking it seriously
can yoonmi drive a car yet?
“tried to teach her once, never doing it again” “hey!” “you locked us out of the car!” “it was one time!” “and might happen again” “... this is why i like motorbikes. no doors”
jungkook rolled his eyes at her which made her scoff
“you literally ask me to teach you to drive a motorbike all the time!” “... trade lessons?” “sure. no telling the oppas?” “definitely”
they went back to looking at comments and humming to the song until the door opened and a throw pillow hit jungkook in the head. you hear jin’s voice
“no! not without supervision!”
the door shuts again and they burst into laughter
they didn’t even realize the song switched to say so by doja cat
you can see yoonmi singing along under her breath while she nodded her head along to the first verse
“oppa, dance with me in the chorus!”
he pretended he didn’t want to but did the tiktok dance with her
the biggest smile made its way to her face while he complied, making him grin as well
they started to vibe along to the second verse, not noticing nala running over to them until she jumped up to yoonmi’s lap and liked the girl’s nose
yoonmi giggled and nuzzled their noses together before letting the dog curl up on her lap
jungkook on the other hand had his hand on nala’s back, gently petting the dog
butter started playing again as they looked through comments
jungkook, would you ever get a real eyebrow piercing?
“maybe? i think it would look cool” “oh for sure, especially with your tattoos” “speaking of tattoos, lemme look at yours again”
she laughed and handed him her hand with the mini bulletproof vest on it. he pressed on it lightly with a smile and grinned before he held up her hand to the live
“this is bangtan” “it’s also ggukoo oppa’s favorite tattoo of mine” “what’s yours of mine?” “i like the words that cross over each other” “the one around the eye?” “yea, that one” “that explains why you’re always touching it” “it’s cool!”
she hummed along to the song, fingers lightly going over his sleeve on the part of her arm where she knew the tattoo was. nala shifted and began to lick jungkook’s hand, making them laugh
jungkook picked nala up, cuddling her to his chest
“ggukoo oppa loves nala a lot… oh yay! blueprint! seungmin oppa’s voice is nice, isn’t it” “this is a stray kids song?” “yupp!” “speaking of, how are they?” “stressed out, i think. especially with kingdom”
they looked through the comments again until jungkook laughed and read one out loud
who are your friends on kingdom?
“mimi’s pretty much connected to most the groups there. We’ve got her brother chan, then of course peniel sunbaenim and sf9’s chani who was in a drama with mimi” “dara unnie introduced me to jinhwan oppa back then, too! then there’s wooyoung and yeosang oppas, they trained in bighit before, you know?” “right. you friends with anyone from the boyz?” “kinda? sunwoo oppa, if you see this, let’s actually push through with that studio session we planned, yeah?”
“who are you close close to though?” “well, the stray kids oppas? i mean we’ve worked with minho oppa for a while, and he was the one who played with me back then since we were the youngest when practicing. then there’s lixie oppa who’s practically my default brother, too. ever since chan oppa let me meet them properly, i’ve been pretty close to them all. chani oppa, too! it’s funny since we’re saved in each other’s phones as our characters”
jungkook just looked at her strangely for a while while she scrolled through the comments. he put nala on the ground (nala went back to yoonmi’s bed to lie down next to dipper) and just stared
“what?” “for an introvert, you’ve got a lot of friends” “okay, mister friendship bracelet” “hey, it’s pretty!” “wait, it’s playing hot sauce!”
she stood up and moved back to do the choreography, making jungkook chuckle
“you know, she learned this dance directly from the nct dream kids” “oppa, dance with me!”
jungkook made it in time for the pre-chorus to chorus. he shook his head and looked at the desk
“i think your boyfriend’s messaging” “let him, i’m having fun” “nice, ignore the boyfriend” “not ignoring, just postponing. oh, do sung's part oppa!”
jungkook of course complied which made yoonmi laugh in delight while she reached for her phone and quickly typed something before shutting it again
they sat back down once again while yoonmi lowered the volume just so the song was playing in the background
“well, this is the last song of the playlist. i’ll make this playlist public on our spotify so you guys can listen, too” “wait, so that’s it?” “yeah” “we did nothing but listen to songs?” “yeah, i told you this is just gonna be a vibe with us live” “well then”
yoonmi laughed at jungkook while he started waving towards the live she did the same and blew a little kiss
“by army, until our next vibe session” “maybe we’ll play with her dogs more, too, next time”

“Something’s up with you, Mimi.”
Yoonmi did her best to shove Jungkook off of her when he dropped himself on the couch.
“You know,” she began while managing to get all his weight from on top of her to next to her, “I go to this reading nook to chill. Just because you know I hang out here doesn’t mean you can randomly attack me in my reading time. Thank you, halmeoni!”
Yoonmi thanked the shop owner for the spare blanket she was handed. She had managed to get away from the preparation of their Japanese release for the first time since the announcement that they were staying together. Well, more like Namjoon practically shoved her out of the studio because she practically threw herself into work after finding out they’d all stick together for at least a little while longer. As usual, she didn’t tell anyone where she’d go off to relax, but Jungkook knew exactly where to find her.
“You seem a lot happier,” Jungkook noted while tilting the book she was reading so he could see her face. “Like, yeah, you were already pretty happy, but it’s like there’s something more now.”
“I’m trying to read here.” She lightly smacked the top of his head with her book. She laughed at him when he did the same to her but with his hand. “You know I’m excited because Daehwi and I are planning to hang out in Japan between schedules.”
True enough, Yoonmi did spend the previous night talking to her friend and plotting out their itinerary for their free days. They even spent a short while trying to convince Somi to come, but she was busy with a variety show that she was filming. Of course Jungkook knew of her plans. He was even going to tag along just so they had some sort of legal guardian with them. (Or so he says, but Yoonmi knew he just wanted to come and see the drum show, too.)
“No, there’s something else.”
Yoonmi had to lean back when Jungkook tried to examine her face up close. She furrowed her brows at him and pushed him away by the forehead. That was when Jungkook tilted his head and smirked.
“You and Minhyung are official now, aren’t you?”
Her eyes widened as she straightened. She looked around the small reading nook before turning back to her best friend. “How did you know?”
“I was right? Woah, I just guessed.”
She groaned and slumped into the couch. “Was it that obvious?”
“Well, something was different.”
The way her best friend’s face fell, even if it was subtle, felt a little off to her. She looked at him worriedly. “Do you not like that?”
A grin took over his face when he turned towards her and bumped their shoulders. “I knew it would happen eventually. Why didn’t you tell me, though?”
“We made a bet about who could keep it secret longer,” she laughed before playfully glaring at him, “and you just made me lose.”
“You can’t hide stuff from me,” Jungkook snorted. He threw an arm around her and pulled her into a noogie. The frustrated huff she let out made him laugh. “You’re gonna have a little bit of fun telling the hyungs, huh?”
“Don’t remind me,” she pouted while trying to stop him from messing her hair up any further. “Now that I told you, I can tell everyone else later during dinner.”
“I got your back, Mimi.”
She smiled at him. Having Jungkook help her break the news to the older members would lighten the load and probably make it less shocking. She just has to figure out how to somehow steer the conversation in the right direction.
Tumblr media
Dinner was as normal as it could get in the dorm.
She and Jungkook came home to find the older members had ordered Chinese food for dinner. Namjoon’s smile was the first thing that greeted her. His warm hand lightly patted the top of her head while she removed her coat.
“Did you have a nice time?”
“I did until this giant bunny decided to bury me under his body weight.” She jabbed Jungkook’s side with her thumb, making him yelp. He gave her a look and kicked his shoes off.
“Oh, you’re so on.”
Yoonmi squeaked and ran past Namjoon and into the dorm as Jungkook began to chase her. She yelled a “hi” as she weaved between her members while she tried to avoid the 97 liner chasing her. She got herself into Yoongi and Seokjin’s room where the two eldest members were sitting by Yoongi’s desk talking about something. She hid behind Seokjin with a laugh.
“Ggukoo oppa’s trying to kill me!”
“I’m just trying to bury you under my body weight, Mimi.”
Jungkook lunged forward, making Seokjin instinctively step away. Next thing Yoonmi knows, she’s picked up from the ground and thrown onto Yoongi’s bed. Her squeals turn into laughter when Jungkook starts tickling her.
All the noise drew the rest of the members into the room. Only the sounds of her and Jungkook’s laughter filled the dorm while the older members watched them fondly. Jimin pulled out his phone and took a video for a few seconds before posting it on twitter.
“Oppa, stop,” she gasped out in between giggles, “I can’t breathe.”
“Indirectly call me heavy again, Mimi, and not even your boyfriend will be able to help you.” Jungkook took one of Yoongi’s pillows and plopped it on Yoonmi’s stomach before resting his head on it.
The two maknaes let out a few little laughs while they tried to catch their breath. It took a few seconds before both of them realized the slip of Jungkook’s tongue. After an exchange of wide-eyed looks, the two scrambled to sit up. Yoonmi nervously looked at her members.
“Uh, surprise?” Her voice came out as a question while her shoulders moved up into a shrug.
“You have a boyfriend?” Hoseok asked, jaw dropped in shock.
“Yes?”
“You’re dating Haechan!” Taehyung cheered.
“What?” She didn’t know how Taehyung came to that conclusion.
“She’s dating Lee Marky,” Jungkook laughed while poking Yoonmi’s cheek.
Taehyung looked at her in question. “I thought Haechan confessed to you like a few months ago?”
“Well, we talked about it and,” she paused and looked at Taehyung. She never told anyone because she and Haechan didn’t see the need to really tell everyone else when nothing changed between them. “How do you know that?”
“No offense, princess,” Namjoon cut in, “but Taehyung and I could hear you two pretty clearly. The artist lounge isn’t exactly the most secret of places, especially since we use the bathroom there.”
She facepalmed. “Well, no. Oppa and I are still practically best friends. I’m dating Mark oppa.”
“Excuse me while I make a phone call,” Seokjin excused himself. “Let me borrow your phone for a bit, princess.”
She laughed and handed him her phone. The way Hoseok and Taehyung went to go watch Seokjin practically lecture her boyfriend was amusing.
“I’m gonna go make sure he doesn’t get carried away.” Namjoon hastily followed the three boys out the room.
“You’re growing up,” Jimin pinched her cheeks and kissed her forehead. “My aegi’s got a boyfriend! Let me go look for those brownies you baked the other day so we can celebrate. Come on, Kookie.”
Jungkook’s whines faded away as Jimin pulled him to the kitchen. Yoonmi turned to the member who had yet to say anything. The member whose opinion she arguably cared most about. She sucked her bottom lip between her teeth while she looked at his expressionless face. Why wasn’t he saying anything?
“Oppa?”
“So,” Yoongi trailed off, “you have a boyfriend, huh?”
“I do,” she nodded. “It’s been a little over a month since we made it official, but you know he’s been courting me in a way for the past year.”
The silence between them was thick. Yoonmi didn’t like it. It felt like the slightest hint of tension that used to be there due to the previous months suddenly grew once again and came to drown her.
“You don’t like it.” Her face dropped upon her realization. “You don’t like that I have a boyfriend.”
“No, I don’t.” The thoughtlessness in his tone made her feel worse.
This didn’t make sense. Yoongi had always been the first to tell her that taking risks is okay. He always told her that letting people in would be just fine because not everyone was like her biological parents. Yet, here he was just denying it all the moment she took his advice.
“Why?” She felt like she couldn’t say more. Any sentence longer than that felt like it would make her choke.
“Why?” He sounded annoyed when he echoed her question. “Yoonmi, you spent three months angry at us because you thought we were putting you behind us, and you’re asking me why I don’t like the fact that you got a boyfriend?”
“It’s different, and you know that.”
“It’s not!” Yoongi turned away from her. “You’ll be spending more and more time with your boyfriend, until you eventually forget about us. Your family. The people who raised you. You’re gonna leave us the same way you were scared of us leaving you. It’s hypocritical, don’t you think?”
That struck a nerve with her. She curled her fists into balls and took a deep breath, not wanting to shout and alert the other members. Instead, she stood from the bed and moved closer to Yoongi. The elder crossed his arms and stared Yoonmi down, not backing away. But Yoonmi did the same, which was new to him.
“If you even think that after all I’ve been through I’d leave for something like this,” she poked him hard in the chest, “leave the people I’ve called home for years just because I have a boyfriend, then I guess all those years of you “raising” me went to waste. If that’s what you think of me, then you don’t know me.”
She stepped back and turned away from him. She walked straight towards her and Jungkook’s room.
Jungkook and Jimin exchanged looks when they saw Yoonmi angrily exit the two eldest members’ room.
“I’ll go check on Yoongi hyung,” Jimin instructed the younger, “you go check on Yoonmi.”
Jungkook nodded and raced towards their room. He opened the door and found Yoonmi sitting on the edge of her bed, staring blankly into the wall while some tears rolled down her face. Jungkook pulled his computer chair over and sat in front of her, wiping her tears away while at it.
“Hey,” he cautiously prodded at her, “what’s wrong?”
“I guess Min Yoongi doesn’t give a fuck about me.”
Oh god. Yoonmi used Yoongi’s full name, and a swear. Despite her use of English, Jungkook got the context.
He gently pulled her into his lap and wrapped the silent girl in a hug. She wasn’t sobbing or anything. Not a single sound. Not like when she got mad at them previously. All Jungkook could hear from her was silence. Jungkook pursed his lips. This was bad.

Airport moment with Jungkook from Australia??
right! i mentioned this a few weeks back aksjdhf basically yoonmi and kookie spent a long time apart for the first time in a while making this iconic moment when they reunited in new zealand. (a fan caught in on camera) hope you enjoooy 💖🥰
Tumblr media
2 weeks.
That’s how long it’s been since he’s seen his best friend.
Jungkook walked through the airport with an extra spring in his step knowing that he’d finally be able to meet up with Yoonmi for real again. Yes, they spent a week together in Busan before she left, but two weeks without being able to see each other?
Call them clingy, but Jungkook can speak for both of them when he says it feels strange to not be able to talk to each other face to face. Jungkook always went with her when she had breaks, or vice versa. To be honest, the longest they’ve ever gone without seeing each other is two days. (Well, a month counting the time Bighit sent Jungkook to train in America, but that was nearly seven or eight years ago.)
“Hey,” Jimin bumped shoulders with Jungkook, “you excited? You’re the only one who’s never gone this long without our makdungie.”
“No, Yoongi hyung.”
The elder looked towards them at the sound of his name. The two Busan kids shook their heads when given a curious look. Jungkook then noticed Yoongi’s phone open on the calendar app.
“Her flight landed forty-five minutes ago,” Yoongi noted. “I’m pretty sure she’s on her way here now.”
“I just hope she doesn’t get lost,” Hoseok sighed. “Somehow, I feel like we should have tried harder to convince her to bring at least manager Sejin with her to Australia. Jin hyung would agree.”
“Maybe I should have gone with her.” Taehyung looked at his phone as if checking for messages. “Maybe next time? I could meet her parents like Joon hyung and Jungkookie did.”
Namjoon snorted at his members. They all turned to look at him in confusion. Why wasn’t he worried, or at least a little antsy? He was just going through his documents, making sure everything was in the right place. At their silence, he looked up.
“Did you forget that she grew up moving from country to country?” Namjoon raised an eyebrow at them. “I know she tends to get lost easily, but she can navigate through airports without a problem.”
Right. If there’s one place Jungkook would let Yoonmi take the lead (not that he wouldn’t follow her to the end of the world), it’s the airport. In the Bon Voyage series where they are left to fend for themselves, it was usually Yoonmi who handled their checking in and stuff like that. She can navigate through the airport as if it were her own home.
Namjoon’s comments seemed to calm everyone down only the slightest bit. Yoongi’s grip on his phone was tighter than usual still, and Jungkook’s eyes kept darting around restlessly.
A few minutes later, while they were walking towards the exit of the airport, manager Sejin tapped Jungkook’s shoulder.
“Look over there.”
Jungkook followed the direction he was pointing towards and broke into a grin before handing Sejin his suitcase.
“Yah!” His yell made the other members jump, but that didn’t stop him from running over to the familiar figure.
Yoonmi, on her end, started running as well, dragging her suitcase as best as she could, excited laughter clearly spilling out of her.
In a matter of seconds, the two maknaes met in the middle, Jungkook wrapping his arms around his best friend’s waist and lifting her up. Yoonmi’s squeals could be heard from a distance while the other members quickly made their way over to their maknaes.
“I missed you,” she said while squeezing Jungkook’s shoulders, “so much!”
“Back at you.”
He gently set her back down on the ground but kept her in his hold.
“If you’d stop hogging her,” Taehyung coughed, “some of us would like to greet our makdungie, too.”
Yoongi chuckled. “It’s been years since they were separated for that long.”
“You haven’t spent this long without her either, hyung.”
“Give the kids a minute.”

Japan was a really good distraction for Yoonmi.
She was focused on their promotional activities and spent some one on one time with most of the other members. Throwing herself into practice felt like a normal thing once again as they were about to have their Japanese fanmeeting. Luckily, as she planned with Namjoon and their managers, she had a day off where she got to roam around Japan and even watch a drum performance with Jungkook and Daehwi since the latter just finished his KCon schedule.
“I can’t believe Linnie didn’t want to go with us,” she laughed while she sent some of the photos that she took over to Daehwi’s phone.
The LA-raised boy scoffed at that. “Please, that giant’s knocked out right now. I’m surprised Jihoon hyung didn’t come with us. He has the biggest crush on you.”
“Or on V hyung,” Jungkook snorted. “I’ve seen your interviews. That kid lights up at the mention of our dear Taehyungie hyung.”
The three idols all burst into a fit of laughter, their two managers chuckling along with them from the front of the car. They continued recounting their day in excitement while they drove back to Daehwi’s hotel. Much to their dismay, they arrived there just as they finished sending their photos among each other.
The 01s gave each other tight hugs, and Jungkook ruffled the younger boys hair as he stepped out of the car with his manager.
“We have to go out with Somi next time,” Daehwi waved, “and you’ve got to spill about your boy.”
“Some other time,” she laughed before waving as well while Jungkook closed the car door.
The two best friends decided to sit facing each other, legs crossed and hidden under a large blanket manager Sejin always kept in the car for her. Yoonmi was ultimately in a good mood, giggles escaping her lips even if she had nothing to laugh about.
It was this feeling that she missed. Just being carefree, with nothing nagging at the back of her mind. It’s been months since she felt this way. In all honesty, the only thing that got her scared was the drum festival they watched earlier that day.
“The drum festival performances were beautiful, weren’t they?” She asked once they were making their way to their suite. No matter what she did, she couldn’t get the thrill of the performance out of her. It was as if she could still feel the vibrations that the druns made throughout the air with the power they held.
“You were so scared,” Jungkook teased her.
“You know I don’t do well with loud noises!” Her laugh contradicted her fake annoyed face. “I didn’t expect the drums to be that loud!”
A glance at the kitchen area of the suite once they entered made her stop. Yoongi was there, and he was looking at them with an unreadable look. She thought he was going to ignore her again, but he spoke.
“Out again today, huh?”
She and Jungkook exchanged a look. Her best friend tried to get her to shrug it off and walk into their shared room, but Yoonmi stood her ground.
“I didn’t think you’d notice.” Her voice was monotonous. She could feel the look Jungkook was giving her, but she needed to stay. Especially since the first time Yoongi actually acknowledged her was accusatory.
The elder placed his cup on the counter and sighed. “I called it. You’re already distancing yourself.”
That got even Jungkook shocked. “Hyung, she was with me the whole day.”
“Not just today. The past two weeks.”
“If you actually didn’t pretend I was non-existent for once,” she narrowed her eyes at the elder, throat clamping up, “then maybe you would have noticed I was trying to catch up with each of the others one on one.”
“You wouldn’t have to do that if you just weren’t childish, anyway.” Yoongi’s nonchalant voice as he walked away felt like a slap to the face. She could feel her chest tightening and the tears forming.
Two weeks. It took two weeks for Yoongi to talk to her again, but there he was, speaking like he didn’t have a care in the world about her or what she felt. She felt her knees slacken a little and went down. Jungkook was quick to follow her.
“This isn’t fair.”
“Yoonmi—“
“No!” The young girl stopped Jungkook from speaking and clutched her chest, banging on it with her fist. “I can’t fucking breathe, Min Yoongi! While you’re there going about your day and ignoring me like nothing’s wrong, I feel like I’m being stabbed straight through the heart by the person who I thought would be on my side all the time.”
She was down on her knees, body curled into a ball as if physically in pain from everything she felt through her emotions. The feeling of Yoongi’s eyes on her made her feel vulnerable, but it was different. This time, she was uncomfortable. The same person she usually looked for when she felt vulnerable to seek comfort was the same person making her feel uncomfortably vulnerable right then and there. She could feel herself grip onto Jungkook’s arm that had settled around her waist, though she wasn’t sure if it was to keep her grounded or to stop her from getting too frustrated.
“You spent days acting like I was nothing to you,” she gasped out. While swallowing the lump in her throat, she sat up and looked him right in the eye. “You know what? I’m done.”
Yoongi looked at her in question. “Yoonmi...”
“I’m done! If you don’t want me in your life anymore, then I’ll ignore you, too.”
“Yoonmi.“
“Is my name all you can say?” She glared at him. She pushed herself up to stand. “I just poured my whole heart out to you!”
She was met with silence. The sight of Yoongi averting her gaze and clenching his fists made her scoff. She let Jungkook help her up and looked at the Daegu man once again.
“So I just embarrassed myself, then. You don’t care. You didn’t care. You probably never cared at all!”
“I do care!” Yoongi’s shout cut off her rant. He was staring her down, hands on her shoulders as if it would make her listen to him more clearly. “I don’t want you to leave, okay? I’m afraid of you leaving us behind like you don’t need us just as much as you’re afraid of us leaving!”
“Hyung!” Jungkook’s eyes went wide when he heard that.
Yoonmi was taken back by what Yoongi said. She choked a little. Was he undermining what she went through? Was he really just doing that?
“No,” she shook her head and backed away, “you don’t care. You’re lying.”
“I’m not lying!”
“You are!” She pushed his hands off of her and backed away even more. “You don’t care! If you cared, then you should know that I’m not the type of person to leave just because someone new came into my life! If you cared, then you wouldn’t take my childhood trauma lightly!”
Yoongi staggered back a little as if fully processing what she said. It was the first time she actually referred to it as trauma. After years, she finally said it out loud. But what did she mean taking it lightly?
“I never took it lightly!”
“I was left behind.” Her voice was shaky, and you couldn’t tell if she’d scream or cry next. “They were people I loved and believed would come back, but they left me and disowned me! You can’t fear being left behind as much as I do because it’s actually happened to me!”
Silence took over them while they let Yoonmi’s words settle in their heads. Jungkook pulled her closer to him and tried to calm her down. For the first time in years, Yoonmi had finally said out loud that she had been left behind, but at what cost? Her relationship with Yoongi? Her trust in him?
Yoongi’s eyes softened as he tried to approach her. “Hey, princess, I’m sorry.”
“No.” She escaped Jungkook’s grip and shoved past Yoongi, not even glancing back while she walked out the door and towards the suite that Jimin, Taehyung, Hoseok, and Seokjin occupied. “You went too far.”
Yoonmi left the room, vision slightly blurry, until she found herself rapidly knocking on the door of the other suite. She stood there for a minute before the door opened to Taehyung. The way the smile dropped off of his face when he saw the messy state she was in made her feel even worse. She froze a little before stepping back.
“I’m sorry,” she stuttered, “I can leave if I was interrupting something.”
“Not at all, aegi,” Taehyung quickly pulled her into his arms and towards his and Jimin’s room, shutting the door behind them. “You’re a mess. You’re coming in here right now and getting drowned in cuddles by me and Jimin.”
“Do I have to talk?”
“We can keep this a secret from the hyungs, no need to talk. You can be quiet or rant, it’s completely up to you.”
A small smile made its way onto her face as Taehyung nudged her over to Jimin’s bed. She wedged herself into the already asleep Jimin’s side and could only watch in amusement as Taehyung repeatedly poked the Busan boy to wake him. Once she found herself properly being cuddled in between the two 95 liners, she sighed.
At least there were some people she could trust to hear her out without assuming anything.
Back in her actual suite, Jungkook turned to Yoongi as soon as she shut the door behind her. “You did go too far, hyung.”
“Jungkook, you like her.” Yoongi gave Jungkook and exasperated look. “Shouldn’t you be on my side?”
“Just because I like her doesn’t mean I’m gonna turn away from or make assumptions about her!”
“Look,” Yoongi began, “I didn’t mean to invalidate her, but she is slipping away. She hasn’t been spending anytime in the dorm or in the hotel room. She barely eats with us. It’s happening.”
“If you paid close attention, you’d see that isn’t the case.” Jungkook crossed his arms and slightly glared at the elder. “She’s been spending all her time practicing because she’s been trying to distract herself from this whole situation. She’d spend a day with each member, trying to rebuild their relationship from before the whole issue. She’s even been trying to get through to you, but you’ve been pretending she doesn’t exist.”
Yoongi looked down at the words of the younger. He hadn’t noticed at all. It had seemed to him that Yoonmi would just stay out of their dorm all the time, so he assumed she had been off with her boyfriend. Well, that could still be the case. The only time he saw her going out with the members was when they arrived in Japan, miles away from her boyfriend.
“She hasn’t seen Mark since the day they became official.” Jungkook’s voice pulled the elder out of his thoughts. “They’ve kept it lowkey because that’s the type of people they are. Yeah, they message each other almost every other day, but both of them know they don’t need to be in each other’s presence all the time to know that they like each other.”
“And you’re okay with this?” Yoongi asked him.
Jungkook gave a humorless laugh. “You aren’t? Hyung, all Mimi and I have ever known each other as is best friends. I only started liking her last year. In case you haven’t noticed, those two have liked each other for at least half their friendship before mark even confessed. She likes him and she’s happy being with him. I’m happy staying by her side as her best friend because I know she won’t stop being my best friend even if she’s got a boyfriend. What about you, hyung? Can’t you just be happy for her?”
With that, Jungkook walked into his shared room with Yoonmi, leaving Yoongi to think on his words. With a sigh, Yoongi shook his head.
“I just don’t want her to grow up and realize she doesn’t need us.”

M.Y. Everyday || i dyed jk oppa’s hair blue!
notes: a youtube video in which yoonmi and jungkook, being the genz kids they are, dye jungkook’s hair without telling the company. italic conversations are spoken in english! this takes place a few months back but only got uploaded in may
it opens with yoonmi and jungkook sitting in the bathroom of their dorm
“hi everyone! welcome back to m.y. everyday! i’m here with ggukoo oppa. oppa, say hi” “hi! i’m jk, and this is my english test”
yoonmi laughed and shook her head at jungkook’s careful english words
“i’ll just explain in english, then we can speak in korean again” “i can say it. watch. today, we are making my hair change. blue hair!”
“yes, as you can see, oppa is blonde,” she fluffed his hair around and ruffled it, “so we’re taking advantage of that and dyeing his hair blue”
“i’ll be a, what’s it called? a smurf”
she just giggles and shakes her head
there’s a quick montage of them gathering their materials and even posing in the mirror for fun with dis-ease playing as bgm
once the montage was over, yoonmi was standing in the bathtub with jungkook seated on the side, both of them dressed in all black
“oppa, you ready?” “turn me into a blueberry”
she snaps on some gloves and leaves her phone playing music in the background. she mixed the blue dye around with some purple in a bowl and speaks
“oppa, go on weverse and ask them if they have questions for us” “i already did, let me choose a few good ones”
what are you doing?
“well, mimi’s dying my hair” “and it’s gonna be pretty!”
is there anything you’re excited for?
“they’re releasing the mtv performances soon right, oppa?” “tomorrow, yeah”
she grinned and did a little excited jump “yes! i can’t wait for our fix you cover to be revealed!”
jungkook laughed at her then turned to the camera “trouble! i’ve heard every song on the album, and it’s gonna be amazing. it’ll be out by the time this video goes up, so go listen to it!”
she snorted “we’re probably going to be finished with the showcase by then”
are you each other’s yellow?
“mimi, what does this mean?”
she thought for a bit while carefully lathering the dye onto jungkook’s hair “you know that other coldplay song? i make you listen to?”
“yeah”
“that kind of vibe”
jungkook pondered a little on it “if that’s the case, then isn’t bangtan our yellow?”
“honestly? yeah. you guys have made me the happiest, and i love you for that”
jungkook laughed and looked at the camera “give her a few seconds, she’ll start crying and— yah! stop putting it that high up! my roots are black and my scalp might turn blue!”
“stop teasing me!”
any recent favorite songs?
“i listen to kind by the shinee oppas a lot”
“the trouble album” jungkook pointed at the camera and winked, making yoonmi giggle “but seriously, i like celebrity. it’s nice that you make it available only on the physical copy of the album. makes it more special”
“done! now we have to wait an hour for this to settle. let me go get snacks, oppa, keep answering questions”
she walks out of the bathroom and jungkook gives the camera a funny look before turning to his phone
five-year-old yoonmi or five yoonmis?
“a five-year-old yoonmi would be pretty cute” he smiled at the thought “i think yoongi hyung has a picture of five-year-old yoonmi in his wallet. but maybe five yoonmis are better since she’s always busy”
are you having a comeback soon?
“yes! it’s called butter, and it’ll be out in may! oh wait, i don’t know when this video is going up... oh well. mimi can edit this out”
what song do you want to try performing again?
jungkook sighed a little “if we’re talking about in concerts, so what. the energy was always great during so what. but, in our current situation, maybe lost. i miss performing lost. or maybe ddaeng with the rap line again!”
the sound of the door opening and closing could be heard while yoonmi walked into frame
“i’m gonna make french toast!”
“how about you, mimi? what song would you like to perform again?”
“oh so what definitely. it was always fun and really hype”
he laughed, making her look at him questioningly. he shook his head
“you’ll see. what’s this about french toast?”
she turns to the camera “right! we’ll go enjoy snacks for now, then we’ll be back when it’s time to rinse and style”
the video cuts to a montage of her and jungkook prepping, cooking, and eating french toast, dis-ease once again as the bgm before cutting back to the two of them, both in shorts now instead of sweats, and standing in the bath tub
“i’m not so sure we should be doing this like this. shouldn’t i kneel over the edge or something?”
“oppa, trust me” she fixed her gloves and took the shower head from the mount on the wall “alright, we’re going to rinse this off. please lean forward”
“this is so strange” jungkook bent forward and let yoonmi start rinsing his hair. he did his best to stay still, but he shook his head a little and made blue water droplets splash around
“wait!” she tried to step back, but she slipped. jungkook laughed, but her legs accidentally hooked onto his making him fall as well
and now we have two maknaes in a fit of giggles while slowly getting more and more drenched in the bathtub
“you know what?” jungkook helped her sit up properly, “we’re already wet anyway. just rinse my hair like this”
“turn around”
she went back to rinsing his hair. not even two seconds later, the sound of the bathroom door slamming open. the two turned towards the door with wide eyes
“who’s hurt?” seokjin’s worried voice filled the camera
“we’re good, oppa!” “we slipped a little, but we’re fine, hyung”
there was a sigh “i swear to god i can never leave you two alone. you’re both adults now! please, i don’t know if i can worry any more than for those two”
his mutterings faded away while the maknaes exchanged a look and laughed
yoonmi conditioned jungkook’s hair, shaking her head fondly at how much he enjoyed having someone do his hair
the scene cuts to them by the bathroom sink. yoonmi was cross-legged on the counter next to the sink while jungkook stood in front of her. they were both significantly dryer than they were, but there were spots of blue on their arms and legs
“i’m not going to talk since this dryer is going to be loud, but i’m gonna style ggukoo oppa’s hair now”
“make it curly”
she turns on the blow dryer and dries jungkook’s hair bit by bit with a round brush, curling it at the ends when she finished, she went through everything again quickly with a curling iron
“tada!”
she made him face the camera. he had a big smile while he walked closer and checked himself on the camera screen
“it looks good”
“it does, oppa”
he was pulled further away from the camera and back to where he originally stood
“thanks for watching” yoonmi waved “i’ll be back again soon with another m.y. everyday video”
“enjoy my blue hair!”
the video fades out with yoonmi laughing while jungkook examines his hair in the mirrow

Yoonmi was nervous to say the least.
Namjoon had called for a group meeting in one of the company’s official meeting rooms. This meant something serious was happening. It couldn’t possibly be about a new album since they were in the middle of promoting Her. The only thing that could come into mind was the restraining order the company was helping her file against the sasaeng that stalked her in her school fair.
She cautiously sat next to Jungkook who could sense her nervousness and placed a hand on her knee to keep it from bouncing and to calm her down. She took a deep breath and tried to read the room. Taehyung and Jimin weren’t there yet. Hoseok and Seokjin were in their own little world. Jungkook was absentmindedly drawing something on the table with his free hand’s pointer finger.
Then she looked at Yoongi and Namjoon. She never usually felt this way, but, at that moment, it seemed like there was a glass wall keeping her from reaching them. They sat at the head of the table with grave expressions, the air around them seeming gray. At least, that’s how it felt to her.
Jungkook tapped his finger against her knee to get her attention.
“You okay?” he leaned down to whisper just as Taehyung and Jimin walked into the room. “Your breathing’s starting to quicken.”
“I’m fine,” she nodded while placing her hands on the table in front of her.
The two maknaes turned to Namjoon who had coughed to silence the room.
“I know it’s our rest day,” he began, “but I want us to be able to discuss this as soon as possible.”
“Namjoon and I were talking,” Yoongi leaned forward, “and we came to a similar conclusion. We’re at our peak as a group.”
Yoonmi smiled just the slightest bit. They had been able to break into the US Market, thus establishing them as the most successful kpop group in America. She was proud to be able to do that with her members.
“You called us to celebrate?” Taehyung questioned the two.
Namjoon shook his head. “I called you guys here today to talk about something more serious. Leaving while we’re at the peak.”
Yoonmi’s smile dropped, along with her heart. She tensed up while looking at her leader. Did he… Was he implying what she thought he was implying?
“I’m sorry,” Jimin laughed as if he heard a joke. “Could you repeat that in words that aren’t riddles?”
“I’m not so sure about this,” Yoongi began, “but Namjoon thought that ending our group activities to start our own things while we’re at our peak would be good for us.”
“Ending…” Jungkook trailed off. Yoonmi placed a hand on his, and he turned his palm upward to clutch hers. “You mean disbanding?”
I was only when Jungkook said it out loud that everyone fully processed what Namjoon was trying to imply. A silence fell over the room, letting the word sink into everyone’s minds.
Yoonmi’s chest tightened when the word hit her ears. She subconsciously tightened her hold on Jungkook’s hand and looked towards Yoongi and Namjoon.
“What?” Taehyung asked. “You want us to disband now? Just to do solo activities?”
“There’s literally no point in that,” Jungkook added. “You hyungs release mixtapes, Mimi does her solo stuff, and Taehyung hyung has acted, all while still being in the group.”
“It’s more than that, Kookie,” Seokjin looked at the younger from across the table. “People tie our image down to the group. They don’t see our solo work as our own stuff, but as a product of the group. It actually makes sense to do what Namjoon’s implying.”
“I don’t know,” Jimin added quietly. “I like being in the group. We can always release our own solo things, yeah. Then again, you have a point.”
Hoseok stared intently at the center of the table while taking in what everyone was saying. She sent him pleading eyes as if to tell him to be opposed to the idea.
“Can I get everyone’s stand on this?” Namjoon asked. “As of now, I’m for it.”
“It would be nice to leave while we’re at the peak of everything,” Yoongi began, “but I’m still not a hundred percent sure.”
“I…,” Jimin hesitated while looking at the leader, “I don’t know, hyung.”
“I’m not opposed to it,” Seokjin leaned back. “Namjoon’s our leader, and I trust that he knows what’s best for us.”
“Well, I’m against it,” Taehyung frowned.
“It makes no sense,” Jungkook agreed. “Why would we? It’s not as practical as you all think it is.”
“It doesn’t sound too bad,” Hoseok spoke up. “Maybe we can think about it for a little while.”
There was another silence after that. One person hasn’t spoken, and that person was sitting still in her seat, looking like she was betrayed.
“No,” she stated. Her voice was hoarse. She swallowed the lump in her throat, but it still felt like she couldn’t breathe. They all looked at her as if urging her to continue. “You guys said we’d be together till the end. You guys promised. This isn’t the end.”
Yoongi got up and moved to comfort her, but she stood up and backed away from him, removing her hand from Jungkook’s.
“Princess…” He lifted his hand to place on her shoulder, but she hit it away. This surprised everyone.
“No,” she said, her voice cracking as if trying not to cry, “don’t touch me. You’re actually considering this for real. You guys promised you wouldn’t leave me.”
She glared at the people who showed some sort of agreement to Namjoon’s idea before standing up and walking to the door.
“Now I know why Hannah unnie doesn’t believe in promises.”
The door shook as she slammed it shut behind her. Jungkook glared at Yoongi then at Namjoon.
“Look at what you did,” he practically growled. He grabbed his and Yoonmi’s stuff before chasing after her.
Yoongi fell back into the chair Yoonmi previously occupied. He exchanged looks with some of the other members. He was about to speak when Taehyung got up and left the room without a word. Jimin had his head in his hands. It seemed like the two 95s had their own argument on the side while Yoonmi was talking.
Yoongi looked at Namjoon.
“This wasn’t how this was supposed to go.”
Tumblr media
Jungkook rushed through the building, trying to catch up to Yoonmi. He cursed to himself. Why did she have to be such a fast person?
He made it out of the building, and he saw her walking without any sign of stopping. The stoplight just went from red to green, and it looked like she didn’t know. Her hands were rubbing at her eyes, and he could see how she violently her body was shaking from the way she was crying.
His breath hitched in his throat when he saw a car driving forward without any sign of stopping.
Jungkook immediately ran out onto the street and practically carried her to the sidewalk.
“Let go!” she struggled against him while he pulled her over to the small reading nook that nobody went to near their building.
Jungkook briefly looked around to see if anyone was there. When he saw no one, he gripped Yoonmi by the shoulders.
“What were you thinking?” he asked her. “You could have gotten killed! You know you can barely see when you’re crying. Why would you do that?”
Jungkook could hear his heart pumping way faster than it should. Not only did their leader talk about disbanding, but he also literally almost lost his best friend. The rush from almost getting hit by a car was still making him way more jittery than he should be. It’s only when he looked at Yoonmi that he calmed down.
She was hunched over her knees on the ground, hands wound into her hair. He barely processed the fact that she was still struggling to breathe before kneeling down next to her and taking her hands out of her hair gently. He pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her. She sobbed into his shoulder, her cries filling the small nook.
“I can’t” she gasped out. “They promised! But this is happening, and Namjoon oppa brought up dis-”
She choked on the last word and never finished it. She buried her head further into Jungkook’s jacket and sobbed harder. Jungkook wasn’t sure if he was shaking because of her or because he was confused, upset, and angry himself. All he knew was that he needed to calm her down.
“I’m right here,” he reassured her. “Taehyung hyung is on our side, too, so don’t worry. We’ll talk sense into them, alright?”
Yoonmi didn’t say anything. Her hands clenched around his shirt, and she seemed to be trying to push herself closer to him.
Jungkook tightened his arms around her and started lightly rocking her back and forth. He looked up when he heard footsteps and saw the old lady who owned the nook. He bowed his head as much as he could to her.
“Is she alright?”
“No,” Jungkook admitted, “but we will be. Eventually.”
He could feel the way her muscles slightly released their tension as he continued to gently rock them back and forth on the ground.
“Stand up from there, dear,” the old lady told him. “There’s a couch just behind that wall. And maybe call her brother. Yoonmi, sweetie, would you like something sweet?”
Jungkook looked up at the lady in shock. She chuckled at his expression.
“She comes here more often than you think,” she said. “Now go over and get yourselves settled on the couch. The floor is too hard. I’ll be back with some comfort food. Free of charge for my number one visitor.”
“Thank you,” Jungkook told her.
He gently lifted Yoonmi into his arms and stood up to look for the couch the lady had mentioned. He gently set her down and pulled a blanket out of one of the open cupboards nearby. He sat next to her and draped the blanket over them.
Yoonmi immediately clung to his shirt and didn’t let him remove his arm from around her. Not that he was going to do that, or anything.
“Why would they do this? I mean, why would they even think of it?”
“I don’t know, Mimi,” Jungkook whispered while pulling out his phone to message Yoonsung to pick them up. “I don’t know.”

Something was off.
Most people would think it strange that something felt off to Jungkook. The sun was shining, there were cherry blossoms blooming, and they had a rest day. But something still kept gnawing at the back of his mind.
Then he got the alert.
He sat up from his bed and looked at his phone, the pink and blue app icon staring back at him with the words “I have arrived!” written next to it.
Yoonmi’s period was scheduled to come that day.
Jungkook immediately hopped out of bed and ran to the kitchen. He put his best friends favorite tiger compress in the microwave and pulled out the box of Filipino snacks from the top shelf.
While waiting for the toy, he knocked on Yoonmi’s door before coming in. He gently pulled her out of bed.
“Up you go, Mimi,” he led her to the bathroom, “time to check, alright? Don’t wanna accidentally stain anything.”
“It doesn’t even happen regularly though,” she whined while Jungkook pushed her into the bathroom.
“It should this week since you’ve been sleeping and eating better and taking your supplements.”
He could her her groan through the door. The microwave beeped, so he quickly rushed over to grab her tiger and some of her snacks before placing them on her bed. A minute later, she walks out the door with a frown. Jungkook shook his head at her and handed her the tiger.
“You were right. This sucks so bad.”
He chuckled as she flopped back onto her bed, pressing the hot tiger against her abdomen. She only ever got whiny when she was on her period, and she was pretty amusing when she got like this.
“Which snack do you want this time?”
“Pillows please.”
He handed her the yellow packaging before slipping in under the covers next to her. Yoonmi automatically curled into his side, looking for any additional warmth to add to her tiger.
“You’re lucky today’s a day off,” Jungkook told her. “Also, congratulations. This means you haven’t skipped on your iron supplements!”
She hummed in response. “Kinda hard to forget when since last time my body gave in all seven of you have tended to remind me.”
The groan that came out of her after that told Jungkook how much her cramps hurt. He reached his arm out over her and started gently patting her lower back. Tears were starting to form in her eyes, which made him feel bad for her.
“Hey,” he began, “you wanna watch a movie? Just something to distract you while you’re stuck like this.”
She practically whimpered in response. “Yes, please.”
“Peter Pan?”
When he felt her nod into his side, he took her laptop from the bedside table and pulled up Yoonmi’s movie folder. Before loading Peter Pan, he prepared more movies. They might as well just have a movie marathon since they had nothing to do, anyway.
He placed the laptop on his lap and angled it so they could both see the screen. The animated film started playing, and silence grew between the two maknaes. It was when The three siblings finally flew to Neverland with Peter and Tinkerbell when Yoonmi spoke again.
“Thank you.” Her voice was just above a whisper. “You always do the most when I have my period.”
He lightly patted her head. “I’ve got you, Mimi.”

Hiiiiiiiiii! I hope you’re having a good dayyy! Could we see the time when Yoonmi first gets her period? (I think she’d approach Jimin first about it because he’s a caring hyung to his dongsaeng irl?) and like everyone else is like, they’re usually close but she’s being extra close with Jimin and Kook gets a little pouty about it but then Yoonmi eventually just says it’s bc she got her period and she wasn’t sure if the others would be comfortable knowing about it. (I would assume she’s thinking this way bc she was young?) Hmmmm or I guess she could also go to Jin bc he’s the eldest? Idk jghghjaka but if you’re not busy, could we see this scenario?
i’m doing pretty okay, thank you, hun 🥰 i actually wrote about yoonmi’s first period over here, so i’ll try to work around this if that’s okay?
Tumblr media
“Oppa,” she poked her head in, “can I ask for a favor?”
“Come in, makdungie,” he smiled and patted the bed, “what do you need?”
She walked into the room and hesitated before deciding to just stand in front of him. She pulled the long cardigan tighter around herself, nervous about what she was about to ask him.
“You have a noona, right?” She asked him.
“Yeah, you know this.” He laughed a little. “You guys bond a lot. Why aren’t you sitting?”
“I don’t think you’d want me to sit on your bed.” She tugged at the ends of her hair. “You don’t have to do this, but Eunhae unnie is busy... Is it possible that you could, maybe, uh...”
Her hesitance made Hoseok smile at her. It could only mean one thing.
“You need me to go get you pads?” He was already getting up and grabbing his wallet.
“I’ll pay for it!” She pulled out her own wallet and gave Hoseok some of her savings. “If it isn’t too weird or a bother?”
Hoseok smiled at her and patted her head. “No bother at all, Yoonmi. Go and get washed up. You had a long day today. I’ll be back by the time you finish washing up.”
She pressed her lips in a tight line and nodded before backing out of the room. She paused before closing the door.
“Could you not tell the others? I know they all know what’s going on, but it’s still weird to me.”
Yoonmi smiled when she saw Hoseok mime zipping his mouth shut. She waved and closed the door before rushing to the bathroom.
Jungkook comes home to find Hoseok passing something off into the bathroom and immediately shutting the door. The pink bandana on the handle told him that Yoonmi was the one in the bathroom. He tilted his head in curiosity. Yoonmi never opened the door when she was in the bathroom, not even if she needed a new bottle of shampoo or soap.
“Hyung,” he called out, “what are you doing?”
“Yoonmi just forgot her towel in your room.” Hoseok smiled and headed off to the kitchen, a plastic bag in his hand.
Jungkook’s eyebrows furrowed. He was sure he saw her towel hanging there on the rack next to the sink before they left the dorm that morning.
He walked towards the kitchen to grab a quick snack and saw Hoseok standing by the microwave. The older was humming a song while putting on oven mitts.
“Oh, hey, Kookie,” Hoseok waved at the younger, “I was just heating stuff. What’s up?”
“I’m a little hungry,” the younger came closer, “so, can I have some of that?”
“What? This?” Hoseok pointed to the microwave. “This is for Yoonmi. You can’t eat this.”
Just then, the microwave dinged to tell them it was done. Just then, the bathroom dorm opened followed by the sound of a bedroom door opening and closing again. Hoseok opened the microwave door and pulled out something pink and carried over in the direction of Yoonmi’s and Jungkook’s room.
Jungkook silently followed and peeked through the door. He could see Yoonmi pouting while Hoseok placed something on top of what he assumed was her stomach.
Oh.
Jungkook got what was happening. Well, somewhat. He knew she was on her period, but she told them not to fuss about her. Yet there she was letting Hoseok coo at her and baby her. He felt his face fall into a grimace. Why didn’t she let him? Sure, it was weird to him, but he was her best friend!
Jungkook moved back to the kitchen. He sulkily ate his dinner while waiting for their main dancer to leave the room. He took some time to heat up some milk and stir in some chocolate syrup for her. He sprinkled in some cinnamon and went into their room. Namjoon’s snoring filled the air as he walked over and sat on the edge of her bed.
“Hey,” he poked her back, “you had a rough day. I got you hot chocolate. It’s not like you make it, but close enough.”
Yoonmi sat up and gave him a smile while accepting the mug. “You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” He sat quietly watching her take little sips for a while before speaking. “So, Hobi hyung’s helping you out with your... yeah?”
“He told you? I asked him not to tell you guys.”
“Why don’t you want our help?”
Jungkook looked at her, his slightly hurt tone coming through. He watched her eyes go from surprised to slightly hesitant.
“Oppa,” she began, “I asked for Hobi oppa’s help because he’s really close to his noona. I didn’t want to bother you guys.”
“It wouldn’t be a bother!” Jungkook just frowned when she giggled at that. “What?”
“Oppa, you can’t even say period,” she let out, “and you don’t have a sister. This is awkward for you, isn’t it?”
He leaned back a little as he processed that. She was right. He did feel awkward about it. Still, though. She was uncomfortable and in pain, so he wanted to help her.
“I’m your best friend,” he stubbornly took her empty mug from her hand and placed it on the desk before slipping under the covers with her. “I’m gonna be awkward, but I’m gonna get used to it. Watch. I’ll be an expert on this in no time.”
She just shook her head and closed her eyes. “You don’t have to.”
“I want to. Deal with it.”

heey, could we please see bangtans reaction to the saesang incident??? Thank you 🥰🥰
Um.. 👉🏼👈🏼 can I request what the boys did after the sasaeng situation with Yoonmi?
oh yeet aksjd don’t worry guys, here’s kind of what played out starting from when daehwi called yoongi (now that i think about it, when this news spread, armys were literally so thankful to the four dreamies and to daehwi)
WARNING: sasaeng, panicking, reckless actions
Tumblr media
Yoongi looked down at his phone once he got out of the shower and got dressed. Two missed calls from Daehwi? He chuckled. The kid was persistent. Just as he was about to call back, Daehwi’s face popped up on screen.
“Hey, Daehwi,” he began. He was about to apologize for not picking up immediately, but Daehwi’s frantic voice cut him off.
“Hyung,” he panted out. “It’s Yoonmi.”
Yoongi felt his heart drop. What about Yoonmi, and why was Daehwi so panicked. He stayed quiet for a bit, waiting for Daehwi to speak again.
“Hannah! Oh, sunbaes, you’re here, too, thank God! It’s Yoonmi!”
“What? What happened?”
“Daehwi, what happened to Yoonmi?” Yoongi asked while grabbing his keys and heading out the room. The members home stared at him in confusion. They heard Yoonmi’s name, and they saw how panicked Yoongi was. “Get in the car. Now.”
“I was with Haechan hyung in the classroom, then we heard her scream, and I think there was a man there,” Daehwi rushed out. “Haechan hyung is there, but he might need help, too!”
“Daehwi, relax,” Yoongi tried to calm the younger boy. He could faintly hear multiple footsteps running through the phone. “Yoonmi has been training in jiu jitsu, remember.”
“Hyung, she freezes when gets scared,” Daehwi cried out.
Yoongi cursed under his breath. How could he forget that? “Daehwi, get off the phone, and call the cops. Call campus security, too. I’ll be there in a bit.”
Yoongi hung up and threw his phone into his coat pocket. They had made it to the parking spot by then. Yoongi looked at who was there. Jimin was in Busan while Namjoon and Hoseok were at the company. Seokjin was having dinner at his parents. That left him with half of the maknae line.
“Taehyung, shotgun. Jungkook, go to the back. We’re going to SOPA.”
The two worriedly got in the car on Yoongi’s orders.
“Hyung,” Taehyung asked, “What was that all about? Why does Daehwi need to call security?”
“Remember the letter Yoonmi got right when we got back home?” Yoongi asked as he pulled out of their building and onto the streets. Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged disgusted looks. They took it from her before she could open it. When they checked the contents, it consisted of stalkerish photos as well as a fluid that they’d rather not let Yoonmi ever know about. “I think he broke into their school.”
“What?!” Jungkook yelled. Yoongi glared at him through the rearview mirror.
“A sasaeng in a school that has not just Yoonmi but also other idols in it?” Taehyung asked.
“And apparently it’s idols helping idols,” Yoongi muttered, making a mental note to talk to the school about its security. “Haechan ran to Yoonmi’s side right when they heard her scream, and Daehwi got Haeeun and a few more of his sunbaes, who I’m guessing are the boys in Haeeun’s group.”
“She screamed?” Jungkook asked, nearly jumping out of his seat. “Hyung, drive faster.”
“We have laws to follow, Jungkook,” Yoongi grumbled. Jungkook let out a frustrated sigh.
“This is why you had me sit in the back, huh?”
“Taehyung takes things calmer than you do,” Yoongi told the younger. “Tae, I want you to call Namjoon and Hoseok. Tell them to talk to the legal department about restraining orders. Fuck, there’s traffic!”
Yoongi more or less furiously hit the dashboard. He was beyond worried, and he wanted to make sure Yoonmi was fine. Behind the sound of Taehyung talking to Namjoon on the phone, he heard the door open in the back. He turned his head around in a split second to find Jungkook stepping out the door.
“Jeon Jungkook, get back in here!”
Yoongi cursed even more when Jungkook just slammed the door back at him. Next to him, Taehyung was trying to explain what happened over the phone since Namjoon heard the yell.
Yoongi shook his head. At the rate the traffic was going, Jungkook would get there first. Yoongi hoped he got there in time.
Jungkook didn’t think anymore. The only think that flooded his mind was the fact that Yoonmi was in trouble possibly from that creep, and he had to make sure he was safe. He didn’t process Yoongi calling out his name as he left the car. He just ran. He didn’t know how fast he was going, all he knew was that he had to avoid the people and get there. The moment he saw the school gates, he sprinted faster. Security stopped him, but he removed his mask.
“I’m an alumni here,” he told them desperately. “I need to get inside right now.”
“He’s the member of the one we sent help to,” one of the security men whispered.
The one holding Jungkook back relented, but Jungkook gave them an exasperated look.
“You saw a kid call for help, yet you’re still here? You know what, forget it. Where is she?”
“The boy said the auditorium building, room 302.”
Jungkook barely thanked the guards and ran in the direction of the building.
“Third floor,” he muttered to himself. “Third floor auditorium, room 302.”
He rushed up the stairs, the worst images popping up to mind and just urging him to run faster. When he made it to the third floor, he just saw two security men carrying out someone in a uniform. Panic rose in Jungkook’s chest, especially when he saw the person’s face. He had seen that man around the company building way too many times.
His eyes darted around, looking for his best friend.
“Hyung!” A familiar voice called. Jungkook turned and saw Daehwi standing in front of another room. “She’s in here! I think she needs your help, though. She’s out of it.”
Jungkook practically sprinted there and patted Daehwi’s head as he walked in. He saw Hannah and Haechan talking in silent whispers to Yoonmi while two boys he recalled to be Jeno and Jaemin standing by the door, Jaemin on the phone.
Yoonmi looked up at the sound of the door opening, and her eyes met Jungkook’s. The tears started to form in her eyes, and she surprisingly lunged forward and right towards Jungkook who caught her and hugged her as gently as he could. He slowly brought them down to the floor, placing her on his lap.
“Are you hurt?” he asked her. “I’m so sorry, I came as fast as I could.”
She shook her head, hiding herself as much as possible in his jacket. Jungkook cradled her head to him. She was shaking, and he could hear her starting to gasp a little. The feeling of his shirt getting damp with her tears made his heart break.
“What happened?” he asked Hannah. She pointed to Haechan who knelt next to them and placed a hand on her back.
“I— Well, Daehwi and I planned a surprise for her because she stressed herself out with all our requirements while on tour,” he stuttered, “but I think that creep followed her into the room we were going to make her wait in. I came in when I heard her scream. She grappled the creep, and he hit his head, so he ended up knocked out.”
Jungkook doubted that was the full story. Yoonmi did, in fact, freeze whenever she got scared, so he was sure there was something missing. For now, though, he looked at the younger boy gratefully.
“Thank you,” he told him, tightening his hold on Yoonmi. He turned his head slightly to whisper to her. “It’s okay. I’m right here. He can’t get to you, okay? Namjoon hyung and Hobi hyung are talking to the legal team about restraining orders. He won’t be able to get to you, okay?”
Jungkook leaned back against the wall while gently rubbing her back. He closed his eyes and adjusted her so her head was tucked under his chin.
He watched while Hannah tried to urge the four other boys out of the room. He didn’t miss the way Haechan hesitated and almost resisted Hannah’s pull, but he eventually followed everyone out.
Jungkook patted a gentle rhythm into her back while she slowly brought herself to stop crying. He pressed a kiss on the top of her head once her breathing settled.
“You smell like sweat,” she said almost inaudibly. Jungkook chuckled a little bit.
“I ran here from the dorm,” he told her. “Yoongi hyung is on the way here with the car.”
“He is actually here,” Taehyung cut in. Jungkook was so caught up in trying to relax Yoonmi that he didn’t notice Taehyung walk in. “He’s talking to the kids outside. Hobi hyung is on his way here, and we’re gonna drive them to their dorms just as a thank you.”
“Is Hyuckie oppa okay?” she asked, still not raising her head. “He pushed the man off of me, but I didn’t see if he got hurt or anything.”
Jungkook nodded in realization. So that’s what Haechan left out.
“He’s fine, aegi,” Taehyung reassured her. “Are you okay to go? We’re gonna go wait in the little food place behind school for Hobi hyung.”
She nodded slightly, getting up from Jungkook. He immediately slung his arm around her once they were standing, though.
The rest of the night, from eating, the car ride, and sleeping, Jungkook never left her side.

Tumblr media
For the longest time, everyone knew that Jungkook and Yoonmi sometimes had their own world. Being raised together and by the same people set the foundation for them to be pretty in sync in multiple terms.
Growing up, it was common to see these two with their own inside jokes, silently communicating, or even physically doing the same thing at the exact same time.
The older members liked to pride themselves in knowing that they at least have a hint of whatever their maknaes are talking about or thinking, but the past few weeks have consisted of them linking or comparing their pinkies of the same hand and just laughing and smiling to themselves. No one really understood why. It was strange, even for them.
They understood when they saw the two asleep on the couch.
It’s another common occurrence to see the two maknaes asleep together despite now having their own rooms. So, when Taehyung walked past their sleeping figured on the couch on his way to the kitchen for water, he didn’t even blink. That is, until he felt a chill. He got worried, knowing Yoonmi got cold easily. Right at that moment, though, Jimin walked into the living room with a spare blanket.
“Nice timing,” Taehyung told the older 95 liner, “because I was just about to grab them a blanket.”
Jimin laughed a little, “I still don’t understand how these two can fall asleep like this everywhere.”
Together, they draped the blanket over the two, careful not to wake them. Taehyung noticed Yoonmi lightly holding onto Jungkok’s hand of the arm she was using as a pillow. He chuckled and went to tuck it under the blanket, until he noticed something.
Two small square-ish marks, not identical but definitely meant to be matching. But they weren’t on the same person. They were on two right hand pinkies.
“Tae?” Jimin had sensed the younger’s pause and approached.
“I didn’t know our maknaes could get more adorable,” he turned to Jimin and held up two hands. “Look! I think they have matching tattoos!”
Upon closer inspection, Jimin saw the two similar ink marks. How had he never noticed them before? especially when he spent so long just observing Yoonmi after she got her first tattoos.
The two 95-liners quickly exchanged a look and ran back to the rooms, pulling all the older members out of their sleep and into Jimin and Hoseok’s shared room. With much protest, sleepy groans, and disgruntled grunts, the two had gathered the four older members in one spot.
“The one time all eight of us are asleep by four in the morning, and you two wake us all up?” Namjoon asked them.
“Yoonmi and Jungkook have tattoos,” Taehyung blurted out.
Yoongi snorted at that, “Obviously. Yoonmi got three small tattoos just last month.”
“Four,” Jimin cut in. “Taehyung meant to say Jungkook and Yoonmi have matching tattoos.”
A small silence fell over the six members while the four still sleepy elders took in the words. Hoseok laughed a little while rubbing his eyes.
“Wait, what?” He tilted his head. “But she has three, and none of them look like any of Jungkook’s tattoos.”
Taehyung opened his mouth to explain, but Seokjin was right out the door, Yoongi on his heels. The 94s and 95s exchanged glances before following out the door. They made it to the living room only to find the two boys kneeling and looking at the two maknaes’ hands.
“So that’s what they’ve been so giddy about,” Hoseok thought out loud.
“Of course they’d be excited about it,” Namjoon sat on the couch just beside the two’s feet. “They’ve had it set since 2018.”
“You knew?” Seokjin asked, voice slightly raised.
Yoonmi stirred a little at that, prompting all heads to turn to her. Yoongi rested a hand on her shoulder and quietly lulled her back to sleep. Everyone held their breaths until she sighed and visibly relaxed once again. Right. Yoonmi was a light sleeper. Perpetually sleepy, but a light sleeper.
“They talked to me about it because they didn’t know if it would cause some weird scandal about Yoonmi cheating on Mark.” Namjoon explained, hand subconsciously tapping Yoonmi’s leg as if to keep her asleep. “Since they did grow up together and have been best friends since, it really won’t.”
“Well, it’s adorable,” Hoseok noted, “we have two cute maknaes. Case solved, or whatever. Sorry, can we go back to sleep?”
“Yeah, we just wanted to tell you guys they have matching tattoos.” Jimin dusted his hands off.
Seokjin sighed before leaning past Yoongi and tucking some of her hair back. He lightly ruffled Jungkook’s hair then stood up, proceeding to go to his room.
“I think we should all get to sleep.”
“This couldn’t have waited until tomorrow?” Namjoon asked as he watched Jimin link arms with Hoseok and Taehyung speed walk after Seokjin.
“We deserve to see them being the babies that they are.”
“They’re both adults!”
Yoongi chuckled as the conversation faded off down the hall. He turned his head back to the two maknaes. It was so surreal to think that Jungkook and Yoonmi used to just doodle on each other during meetings back when they were trainees. The fifteen and eleven-year-olds back then somehow grew into the two young adults in front of him in such a short amount of time, yet they never changed.
He recognized the two geometric tattoos. He remembers exactly what they look like because he was so used to seeing them appear on the two’s arms at random times ever since they first decided they were best friends.
“Never change, you two,” he whispered before fixing the blanket on them and heading back to his room.
