— i sign the signal song for iland "into the i-land" and also make a guest appearance on the show

— i was adopted at birth by the hwangs aka hwang hyunjin's family and brought to korea at a very young age after living with them in canada for a handful of years.

— i went to sopa with hyunjin and was street-casted the same day that he was (for different companies tho LMAO)

— i have quite a few variety shows:

holly hive: a weekly-updated (before comeback season) variety show series in which i participate in games and challenges set up by the staff. sometimes there are special guest stars, other times it's just me on my own

holly's sweet talk: the k-pop version of a late late show, but it's hosted by me and only has one season. there are guests, gossip, even performances

holly jolly christmas: spending the twelve days of christmas with me. each episode is a different sort of gift from myself to my fans. the episodes are short, but just as entertaining as any other show i've done (as told by fans and non-fans alike)

holly's house: a sleepover-style variety show with a bunch of female idols playing different games and things, and with me as the host—and as one of the participants, of course. it's filmed also like a reality show, where there are solo interview shots of each person

📸 K Fuse: BANG YONGGUK took LA Fans on an “Orange Drive” for His ‘III’ US Tour Stop A/N: posted on 240525

The Vermont Hollywood in Los Angeles, California was filled with excitement on Sunday, April 28, 2024, as Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer, BANG YONGGUK, made his last stop of the III U.S. Tour. As a producer, Yongguk has produced for artists like the K-pop group JUST B, who also ended their Just Be With You Tour at the Vermont Hollywood on March 31. As fans bustled into the venue, three screens projected the design of a bright red “3,” which is the name of Yongguk’s most recent album, 3. Many fans wore B.A.P shirts and held green lightsticks as Yongguk is the former leader of that K-pop group. 

During talking breaks, Yongguk said that he didn’t forget about the support and love he received from fans last year on his tour (The Colors Of Bang Yongguk) stop in LA, “So I want to make the best night tonight together.” Throughout the night, the Korean rapper would go back and forth from early songs in his discography like his debut single, “I Remember” (feat. Yang Yoseop) which had the crowd overjoyed, soaking in the nostalgic moment and singing loudly as the song started, “Oh, oh, woah // Oh, oh, woah.” Later in the song, fans chanted the chorus hearing the voices bouncing off of the venue’s walls. 

The stage and venue were dimly lit but the colors shining on stage were so bright and saturated, resembling to when Yongguk described how he felt on stage in his short film, Something To Talk About. The stagelights shined spotlights from the left and right on Yongguk creating a movie like scene from the crowd. When “Green” (feat. SOOVI) was peformed, fans turned on their flashlights and waved their arms from left to right in the air. During this sentimental song, Yongguk really made sure to show he was singing this song to each one of his fans by sharing eye contact, completing heart hands, and pointing to the crowd during the lyric “Baby, you're my green, yeah.”

Yongguk took a moment of to share encouragement to fans:

“As I said I’m not your teacher but I sincerely encourage you guys to also take on a challenge or do something that you haven’t done yet to move forward in your lives…Yolo.”

Then Yongguk went on to perform more of his new songs from his recent album, 3. With this album, the songs are more free and have a different tempo from previous albums. During the performance of “BAD” (feat. YOUHA), the crowd sang the chorus with Yongguk when the word “bad” was said.

Yongguk looked like he was enjoying the last night of his U.S. tour as he playfully sprayed water into the crowd and on himself, dancing to each upbeat song of his and would let out a big smile as he watched fans sing along to his lyrics. 

For the encore portion of the night he performed “BUSS IT DOWN” again and doused the crowd even more with water. Ending the night with “Orange Drive” as a song that in that moment could stand for the sunset that is ending the concert/tour and Yongguk’s promise to continue to make music and see his fans again some day.

And with this post, we have arrived at the end of this blog. NOTE: I will list artists who are NOT part of any group at the moment. With that being said, artists like MAMAMOO's Hwasa or EXO's Baekhyun won't be on the list.

Sunmi

Sunmi is a soloist under MakeUs Entertainment. She was part of the iconic girl group Wonder Girls under JYP Entertainment. They debuted in 2007 and disbanded in 2017. Sunmi debuted solo in 2014 with the song called "Full Moon".

After the disbandment of Wonder Girls, Sunmi left JYP and joined MakeUs Entertainment. Her 2017 comeback with "Gashina" was one of the most iconic things. "Gashina" quickly became one of the biggest hits, and she won numerous awards with it.

I first saw Sunmi at the 2017 MAMA awards when she performed "Gashina" with Taemin, and I was immediately drawn to her. Ever since then, she is my favorite solo artist.

Chungha

Chungha is a soloist under MNH Entertainment. She was part of the project girl group I.O.I under YMC Entertainment and CJ E&M. They debuted in 2016 and disbanded in 2017. Chungha debuted solo in 2017 with the song called "Why Don’t You Know".

Queen (Kim) Chungha is one of the biggest surprises of the K-Pop industry. After I.O.I disbanded, most of the members were getting ready to debut in new a group, but MNH announced that Chungha would debut as a solo artist. A lot of people had doubts and said that she isn't good enough to do it on her own. Damn, they were wrong. As of now, she is one of the most famous solo artists in South Korea and keeps breaking records with every single one of her comebacks.

Jessi

Jessi is a soloist under P Nation. She debuted as a soloist in 2005 under YMC Entertainment with the song called “Get Up”.

Jessi is the perfect example that you should never give up. This girl has been in the business for over 10 years, but she never had that big breakout up until this year. Jessi was born in the US and only moved to Korea when she was 15. She has darker skin than most Koreans, so she was a target of racism and discrimination a lot of times. YMC Entertainment never knew how to promote her right, but thankfully she left them in 2019 and joined PSY's company where she finally got her opportunity to shine. Her song "NUNU NANA" is one of the biggest hits this year and hasn't left the Melon Top 10 chart since it was released back in July.

HyunA

HyunA is a soloist under P Nation. She was part of the iconic girl group 4Minute under Cube Entertainment. They debuted in 2009 and disbanded in 2016. HyunA debuted solo in 2010 with the song called "Change".

After the disbandment of 4Minute, the Queen of breaking stereotypes, HyunA stayed with Cube Entertainment. Everything was ok until 2018, when it was confirmed that she, and fellow Cube mate, Edawn has been dating since 2016, which was against the company's rules. They both got kicked out of Cube and signed with P Nation. They both have been releasing music and living their lives happily ever after. In final conclusion, fuck Cube. Idols are humans too.

IU

IU is a soloist under EDAM Entertainment. She debuted as a soloist in 2008 under LOEN Entertainment with the song called “Good Day”.

Hyolyn

Hyolyn is a soloist under her own company, Brid3. She was part of the iconic girl group SISTAR under Starship Entertainment. They debuted in 2010 and disbanded in 2017. Hyolyn debuted solo in 2013 with the song called "One Way Love".

CL

CL is a soloist under her own company, Very Cherry. She was part of the iconic girl group 2NE1 under YG Entertainment. They debuted in 2009 and disbanded in 2016. CL debuted solo in 2013 with the song called "The Baddest Female".

CL, the one and only baddest female. Or as she said in “HWA”: C to the L, the Godmother of Korean Culture. 

The most iconic woman in Korean music. I hate YG so much for holding her back for years. Thank God, she's free now and I can't wait for her debut album.

SOMI

Somi is a soloist under The Black Label. She was part of the project girl group I.O.I under YMC Entertainment and CJ E&M. They debuted in 2016 and disbanded in 2017. Somi debuted solo in 2019 with the song called "Birthday". 

Somi was supposed to debut with ITZY in early 2019, but she left JYP Entertainment in 2018 and joined YG's sublabel The Black Label to debut solo. One of the biggest mistakes in K-Pop? At first, I thought yes. I didn't think she had what it takes to be a soloist but after her first comeback this year she convinced me that she's gonna be a big star very soon.

AleXa

AleXa is a soloist under ZB Label. She debuted as a soloist in 2019 with the song called “BOMB”.

Ailee

Ailee is a soloist under her own label Rocket3 Entertainment. She debuted as a soloist in 2012 under YMC Entertainment with the song called “Heaven”.

NATTY

NATTY is a soloist under Swing Entertainment. She debuted as a soloist in 2020 with the song called “NINETEEN”.

Lee Hi

Lee Hi is a soloist under AOMG. She debuted as a soloist in 2012 under YG Entertainment with the song called “1, 2, 3, 4”.

Another perfect example of "YG wasting talent". Thank God, she's in the perfect place now at Jay Park's label.

Yezi

Yezi is a soloist under JG Star Entertainment. She was part of the girl group FIESTAR under LOEN Entertainment. They debuted in 2012 and disbanded in 2018. Yezi debuted solo in 2016 with the song called "Cider".

Youha

Youha is a soloist under Universal Music Korea. She debuted as a soloist in 2020 with the song called “Island”.

We got another example of ”YG wasting talent" at the end. Youha was part of “Future 2NE1″. They were introduced back in 2012 by YG, but never got the chance to debut. She left YG last year and debuted solo this year under Universal Music.

DAVII, mini album 'Today'

Jazz R&B singer-songwriter DAVII returns with a unique sensibility.

On the 10th, the teaser images for the third mini-album ‘Today’ of the ‘?=’ series were sequentially released through Davi’s official SNS channel.

In the published photo, Davi was seen walking with the Han River in the background, drawing attention. The eyes that stare at a distant place and leave a lingering impression and the back view in the blurry focus left a feeling of vagueness, raising curiosity about the concept to be presented.

Then, a black-and-white teaser containing Davi's side profile was released together, drawing attention by showing his unique languidity and relaxation through his casual styling and his eyes closed.

Darby's new series album 'Today' adds specialness to his thoughts on the day he tells, and sweetly solves the worries about the end of the day musically.

This album consists of a total of 5 songs, including 'Nightmare', 'Good Morning', 'Good Night', 'Flying with you' and 'Outro' that I worked with singer-songwriter YOUHA. It is expected to please the ears of listeners with a variety of pop jazz and ballads based on the bass.

Also, with 'DAVII'S ROOM', which will be held online on the 14th, Davi foretold musical communication with fans who have been waiting for their comeback.

Next, on the 14th, Davi will appear as a guest on the Naver NOW. 'Music to You' program hosted by senior musician Yoon Sang on the 14th and show special musical chemistry.
