Sketchtember 21. Nothing Fate related this time, shocker I know.

A friend and I were talking about Bill Cipher, and them sending a pic of Baby Bill reminded me of YVS. So I drew them interacting.

I don't really remember what my initial reaction to that scene was. It's been years. I like how it does tell the truth though, Marco was just a regular bussiness man, not someone holy at all and he just made up a scheme to kill the guy who destroyed his two businesses (as the orphanage was technically a business). The deaths of the children is something that the sequel series made me even more conflicted about. Because in the original series, they were just kids that Marco likely abused through corporal punishment. Like, I was sad for their deaths but also relieved that Marco cannot lay a hand on them anymore. But then the sequels came around and made it seem even more like a mercy kill with the discovery that the Daremoine uses the orphanage children for their own purposes when they grow up. Those kids were fucked. A childhood of abuse and strict religion (where they worship god- aka YVS) and then being thrown in with the literal Illuminati of their world? It almost feels like a cult with how these kids were essentially groomed to be YVS bootlickers.

I don't want to say Hao did the kids a favor by killing them, but they definitely did need to escape that orphanage ASAP.

“stop it. dumb bunny brat.” he carries you and places you back on the bed, taking his leave along with the carton of grapes.

“h-hey! i still want those !” you reach at him, but he doesn’t even turn back. he makes his way to the kitchen, and you hear a loud thud.

“did y’just throw them away ?!”

he comes back, leaning against the door frame with a smug look, one that turns into a grin when he sees your brows arched together in hopes that he’ll realize you’re angry. what a dumb bunny.

“i don’t like how they’re green.”
