I'm kind of disappointed with welcome2elsewhere.com.
It started out as a really cool thing, it was like Set It Off's own ARG. Everyone was super hyped and it was a whole new world to explore. There was stuff talking about the lore of Elsewhere and how it connected to the band's previous albums. There was mentions of the Midnight Society, how the band was an experiment, etc etc.
They also used the website to tease stuff for upcoming music videos, but overtime, that was kind of it.
The band said that Elsewhere would have a lot of lore, and in some respects, they aren't wrong?? Like this is the first SIO era that has the most developed storyline, in terms of things happening outside the album itself.
Still though, I feel like the website hasn't lived up to its full potential. I was hoping that the whole segment of the Elselore Podcast would become a more regular(ish?) thing, and we would get to know more about Norman Michael Edwards and the other characters of Elsewhere (Karma, Ego, etc.). The Midnight Society emails/documents were also a good touch too; they were our peek into the mysterious workings of an organization that seems to be pulling the strings behind everything.
I'm not trying to discredit the band or anyone involved with the website in any way. The idea of the website itself is really cool and I appreciate the work put into it, but these are just my two cents. The band might get back to the website eventually, so I'll see how well this ages.
(this was the first animatic I've made in over a year and it was fun to do!! I enjoyed drawing the boys, especially in this art style. I use this kind of art style for school-related stuff so this is the first time I've used it for anything but. I didn't expect to finish this around the time of Zach's birthday so take it as a belated birthday gift ig???)
Praise the art glowup, if you dont like your art now? Know that it changes the more your practice! You dont notice your art changes untill you find your old art
