Zeekdober Bloody Gate Special “Bloody Dober”

A collection of FOR-Specific doodles/drawings done over the last year or two.

- A red Dibison I often ended up in battles with!

- There was a Death Stinger event where, to destroy it before it reached the base, you had to run ahead to trigger its CPC spin so it would stop, so it would have more time to be damaged. Most Zoids didn’t bother to see if there was one of us CPG-users anchored in place before doing this, though. Many Breakers were a’sploded that week.

- The world will never know the horror of pachyderms trying to kamikaze your base for a full 10 minutes because their ridiculously OP defense let them walk right past you- Won with a tiny sliver of base HP left.

- The introduction of the Konig Wolf was topically paired with insane battle glitches, game crashes, etc. Including the Zoid being stuck in place throughout the battle. Overheating woes.

- ... Purple Shadow Foxes are just pretty ok. Go-to scheme for all game foxes.

- Overpowered Zeek Dober was in for a very rude awakening when the newly introduced launching Breaker claws snared him mid-Hellblazer run and dragged him to a fiery death.

- Don’t play multiplayer games with reliant teammates during lightning storms, kids-

- Drawn during the very last day of Zoids FOR, with just a few hours remaining. I battled until the very moment I could battle no more.

I think it’s safe to say, that at some point or another we’ve (zoids fans as a collective we) have wanted a Zeekdober model kit. I know I have. Its such a lovely shape, a lovely face. Not so lovely is the availability.

Except when you find a (kind of) MIB OJR Zeekdober on eBay for under $60. So of course I nabbed it.

This was my first OJR from the second wave of kits they made in 1987 and it’s kind of quaint, really building one. Assembling the actual battery component was whimsical in a way. 

While this kit was marked MiB and it was, in a sense, the bags were sealed but the actual plastic runners had, at some point been exposed to something that smelled like a skunk had taken an aromatherapy class and then promptly flunked that class after an all night bender. I managed to de-stink it but ended up with slight colour variations. Which looked...bad. That red plastic is unforgiving and nigh impossible to colour match.

So I ended up detailing the pup, but I used water based paints, so if need be, I can strip it back down to bare plastic if the need arises.

Zeekdober is a bit plain without stickers but the ones in the box were unusable, so I improvised with some left over waterslide decals that complimented the colour scheme nicely. 

This is a very good boy I’m delighted to add to my collection.

Zeekdober happens to represent one of my favorite breeds of dog; the doberman, so obviously I was going to go after this model.

I got this guy super cheap second hand and prebuilt so he still needs to get trimmed up a bit from flashes and the stickers could use some fixing up but other than that he's pretty much perfect! He has a few scars on the plastic from various things though but I can easily ignore that.

This is the Rebirth Century re-release version; the original kit was released in 1989.

Painted my Zeekdober (who I named Sieg... so original of me)  this weekend and I almost have it finished. Just need to do some touch ups, washes, and decals >w<

- Your Liger Zero crouching down for chin scratches like all the time

- Your Zoid throwing a fit in the parking lot because you’ve been shopping for more than three hours already

- Said Zoid complaining about the 20 shopping bags you’re trying to fit into their cockpit

- Your Zoid picking you up and carrying you away after you’ve been staring at the display window with the parka on sale for $599 for over five minutes now

- Venting to your Geno Saurer in tears how you were bullied at school today and he asks where the bullies live

- Your Zoid being confused as to why you have a different paintjob every morning

- You teasing your Zoid back that it’s called fashion and they obviously don’t know anything about it, seeing how they’re wearing the same outfit every single day

- Your Zoid ranting about how your fashionable ‘armor’ provides literally no protection at all

- Knitting a scarf for your Geno

- Your Geno knitting a scarf for you

- Building a giant snowman with your Zoid in winter; they accidentally melt a part of it because one of their heatsink exhausts came too close, which they get utterly distraught about

- Snowball fight with your Zoid; you die

- Your Zoid playfully dumping a metric ton of snow on you and then frantically digging you out again because they didn’t hear you make a single sound for the past five minutes

- Your Liger Zero playing hide and seek with you in the snow and thinking he’s perfectly hidden because he blends into the white; except his massive silhouette against the forest behind him kinda gives him away

- Playing hide and seek with your Helcat, Helcat always fucking wins

- Your Shield Liger being scared of fireworks and putting up his shield cuz there’s nowhere to hide

- Your Zeekdober going after the mailman; now you have to fetch your mail from the post office because for some reason the employees refuse to deliver to your house anymore

- One smart mailman trying to distract the Zoid guarding your house with a laser pointer; it’s all fun and games until the laser of a rifle points back

- Your Blade Liger being OVERjoyed because you got the HMM and now there’s a mini-him!

- Your Fury seeing you beating eggs and offers to help; you kindly refuse

- Your Lord Gale having watched a documentary about the Middle Ages and now REALLY wants to try lance jousting with the Lanstag two blocks over

- Your Zoid accidentally overdrawing your bank account cuz they secretly hacked your phone and didn’t realize the microtransactions in Candy Crush cost real actual money

- Your Zoid hearing you say “oh shoot my phone died” for the first time and being super distraught cuz they’re thinking it literally died

- Your Zoid not wanting to spend the night in the barn because there are spiders

- Your Zoid watching you through your window while you sleep to make sure you don’t have any nightmares

- Sleeping between the front legs of your Liger while he watches over you

- Having to console your Bladey because the local Saix always outruns him and that makes him doubt his worth

- Scolding your Command Wolf for digging up all the plants in the yard; little do you know that it was in fact the neighbor’s König Wolf

- Your König Wolf bringing you a telephone pole to play fetch and not quite realizing what’s the big deal and why are you yelling

- Your Shieldy being absolutely TERRIFIED of balloons since one popped in his face a few years ago and now always deploys his shield as soon as he spots one

- König Wolf howling at the moon and their human yells at them to shut up. The König complies...until the next full moon

- Your Saix ‘accidentally’ stepping on your brand new sports car. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

- Your Geno LOVING sparklers for some unknown reason

- Your Murasame forgetting to duck and accidentally cutting power lines every once in a while

- Your Liger Zero being dead afraid of the jack-o���-lanterns on your porch because their eyes they glow

- Your Zoid being scared of thunderstorms

- You sitting underneath your Shieldy in the rain while he keeps you dry with his e-shield

- Your Command Wolf really wanting to bath in the pool but only his butt fits
