the thing about self-diagnosing yourself with a CDD is that for some systems it’s their only option. medical professionals are human beings with biases and it’s impossible for those not to affect their work in some way because psychologists are not completely logical infallible robots. some MH professionals don’t even believe CDD systems are possible, they think all of us are faking and will outright refuse to diagnose anyone with CDDs because of that. so even if you want a professional diagnosis and have the money time and energy to pursue one, you also have to get lucky with the specialist(s) you see or shop around for one who will take you seriously. not everybody is going to be able to do all that and that shouldn’t bar them from entering CDD spaces to discuss their symptoms and figure out how to manage them if they’ve done a decent amount of research
DID is literally more prevalent than autism, and that’s just counting professionally diagnosed systems (also, 40% of dissociative disorder diagnoses are for OSDD, so the prevalence of OSDD systems is likely even higher). there are soooo many CDD systems out there and i bet a big chunk of us don’t have a professional diagnosis either because we can’t get one despite our best efforts or we just don’t want it on our records. and it goes without saying that these undiagnosed systems should be respected and not immediately suspected of faking just because they’re undiagnosed

transmasculine systems, especially those who are medically transitioning: how do you deal with hyperfeminine alters who experience their own dysphoria/how do you help them cope? and if there’ve been any, how have you resolved conflicts between the rest of the system and these hyperfeminine alters (for us, any attempt by that alter to present more femininely triggers dysphoria in somebody else so it usually causes issues and builds resentment)?

i think i feel a stronger urge than other parts to talk about our OSDD… which would be fine if we didn’t feel so uncomfortable actually doing it! our partner is supportive and i would love to share more with him but i’m scared that maybe he won’t like me or other parts if he got to know us better as individuals, and maybe he would think we’re too complicated or weird? i know it’s unlikely but i’m still nervous about it- and everyone else is way more nervous about it than i am so how am i supposed to ever say anything :(

actually maybe it would be for the best if i just go ahead and sign out. i’ll leave this up and maybe we’ll come back in the future idk. but i dont want us to be here anymore
online system spaces are so dogshit. it didnt used to be this bad back when we first discovered our own plurality in 2016. its terrible to be a system on the internet now, especially if you’re a traumagenic system who doesnt rabidly hate endos for no reason. it really isn’t worth risking harassment from cringe subreddits or risking being fakeclaimed by other traumagenics for not agreeing with them
we dont gain anything from talking about being plural online. the only thing it does is make us a potential target for more harassment. so its probably for the best that we just stop

how a system feels about the label traumaendo tells u a lot about how they feel about systemhood in general
they’ll be like oh i totally support other traumagenic and disordered systems! that is, until they have spiritual beliefs that affect their system, or until they dabble in paromancy or soulbonding, or until they use any labels or do literally anything i don’t personally like/understand. if they do any of those things they’re spreading misinformation and are confused about their own system (even though i am a stranger on the internet and they’ve known their system more deeply and for much longer than i have). but yeah i’m totally supportive of all traumagenic systems! :))))

i dont rlly understand the concept of a xeno source. im not opposed to the idea and i dont dislike it or anything i just dont understand it
is it for introjects who dislike their source and want to describe it to others using unrelated terms, to avoid talking about it? that i can understand. but i cant think of any other reasons i would use those

i just remembered when we told our partner (of over 2 years, who’s a singlet but has known about our OSDD since the beginning and is supportive) that sometimes it feels like we’re living a double life and he almost had a heart attack because he probably thought we meant we sneak out at night to go spend time with our secret second partner or family or something. and we explained that what we actually meant is internally we have a whole little community of folks who coordinate and work together to get even the most extremely basic things done (like taking care of the body’s needs, hygiene, schoolwork/job tasks) and nobody else but us will ever be able to actually know us the way we know each other. we could explain all day until the cows come home what it’s like and we could try to be as authentic as possible in regular conversations by saying which alter(s) are fronting and trying not to mask as the host, but still nobody will ever get it the way we get it
that can make you feel very lonely but also like you’ve never been lonely once in your life which is an interesting mix of emotions to deal with. it really does feel like having a second life
and maybe that’s part of the reason why fakeclaiming doesn’t affect us very much. we know very well that we’re the only people on this planet who will ever know the reality of our internal world and how we function. so if you fakeclaim us it’s like… well you don’t have the slightest clue what you’re talking about and you’ll never be able to get it. it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks because nobody but us is genuinely qualified to have an opinion on us
