Gonna throw a curveball. 2, 9, 20 for Akane Kurashiki of Zeroscape fame
Ah fuck forgot to answer this
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
the duality of her. This is a very broad and vague statement but this is because its all fascinating. Akane kurashiki is a landscape of contradictions.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
On one hand i could probably listen to akane kurashiki read the phonebook and not get bored but on the other hand god in heaven i do not want to get involved in that woman's life like girl im sorry i love you but i can NOT do this shit,

In Utah there is a government incentive program called "flip your strip" where you get reimbursed for converting the parkstrip in front of your front lawn using water-wise landscaping (zeroscaping, local water-retaining plants, pollinator friendly flowers.) Businesses have gotten in on it too and it's really challenged the appeal of sprawling lawns in my area, especially since most of those lawns have to go dormant and brown in the summer due to excessive heat and lack of water. It's still a developing solution, but it means it's becoming more and more accepted (and no longer denied by city ordinances) here to have a garden of local plants instead of a lawn and I think that's very exciting!

I would not say that lawn mowers and brush cutters don't have a place in the world, but I would say that if every lawn mower and similar machinery vanished from existence tomorrow, we would suddenly notice a multitude of obvious practical uses for plots of land that were not consciously considered to be "land" at all, but rather just "space" separating two constructed things.

09/05/24 - Lago Vista, TX - FINALLY - Finally completed the first of many planned landscaping yard projects: a path connecting an existing sidewalk to one of our new pool patios. The hardest part was lifting and positioning the 2 ft by 4 ft leuder paving stones. They were so heavy that we had to get a couple guys to help out with that part. Before, it was just dirt and weeds. Look at it now. This first project is the first step of our overall strategy to do a combination of zeroscape (no plants) and xeriscape (drought tolerant plants) to get to a low maintenance yard with minimal water requirements. So far, so good; just need to pick up the pace (see 06/04/24 post when we started this).
