It’s sad when half the feedback you might get online these days is trapped behind a random discord. I know getting feedback makes me create faster (I’m weak and pathetic I know, I crave validation). Finding fandom discords in general is difficult, I always just have to ask publicly if there is one I can be invited to.

An interview with one of our lovely book artists!

First, why don’t you tell us a bit about yourself as an artist? What do you mostly specialize in (ex: comics, illustrations, etc)? What are your favorite things to draw?

I'm Zhampy and i'm also known as SquareHeart, but please call me Zham! I like to do cute and colourful things, a lot of furry stuff and chibis! Right now i'm very invested in making merch and running a small shop. I've worked on a few zines before but this will be the first Spyro one!

When did you first play Spyro the Dragon and what were your feelings about it at the time? How does it make you feel now?

Spyro was one of the first games i really remember playing by myself. Gateway to Glimmer was also the first videogame i ever paid for with my own money, haha. I still have the CD album that came with the game. I'm still playing my original PS1 discs to this day!

Would you say Spyro has influenced your style today and if it has, how so?

Definitely the fantasy aspects and colours have influenced me. Particularly the first game. As a kid i even remember designing my own game that was basically just a copy of Spyro but with hamsters instead, ahaha.

What are your favorites from the series? Such as level, character, song, and overall favorite game?

The first game is my favourite overall! The music, level design and worldbuilding. Fav song is Wild Flight. Fav level is Mystic Marsh but i also really like the Dream Weavers homeworld, and my favourite character is actually Sgt.Byrd. I've always been a sucker for James Bond parodies.

I want to say thank you for accepting me and i'm very excited to see all the contributions! I'll be working hard too!

I know as a fandom we've decided that pre-canon Robotnik is a workaholic who can't bathe himself or cut his own hair without Stone's help, but like... he knows how to floss and he hatewatched Green Lantern. He was into nerdy stuff in his downtime.

i just imagine him being toxic af in some RTS game or whatever

I do just need wacky SM2 stobotnik evil hijinks fighting Sonic and co. and always failing, then rob and stone go home licking their wounds vowing to get revenge next time, saturday cartoon morning style

If tumblr dies I’ll be mad upset. What other blogging sites are there? The tagging system and ask box here just doesn’t exist anywhere else.

I like portraying movie Shadow as very inquisitive. Not quite innocent because he WILL fcuk you up but he's an intense learner. The charas in the movies def feel more like children.

Sometimes i forget what a petty bitch Stone can be. His soft tone of aggression when talking to people beneath himself/Robotnik is so interesting.

I keep thinking of coming back to this. It was supposed to be a multi-part story, showing how the survivors of Crisis City are afraid of Blaze due to her fire powers. Silver is the only person who isn't scared of her.

Would love to create enough AU content to print a book.

The funnest thing I’ve ever done in fandom was my erasermic shipwrecked au where I made a wholeass story created entirely through tumblr asks then printed it in a book. That was AWESOME.

My stobotnik art got reposted onto facebook and got a lot of notes and it somehow got onto my mum's feed so she came to me and said "it's that pic you did that agent stone reblogged" LOL then asked me what a simp was 😂
