🌺Drama I Enjoyed: Nancheng Banquet🌺

I recently finished this drama and really, really enjoyed it! It's SO cute!! It's 24 episodes long, and it keeps the cuteness up to the last three, so only those last three are more serious, instead of the usual "light only at the beginning, and then serious for half or most." Nancheng Banquet was my daily dose of sunshine, and I looked forward to watching eps every day. 😊

I really liked the FL; she's so cute!

Premise (non-spoilery)

General Yan Changyun is secretly working to clean up corruption and bring justice to those who were wronged. Assassin Fu Xiao is sent to eliminate him, but fails, is wounded, and is forced to flee. While she's trying to steal a boat to escape, the owner of the boat sneaks in from behind her and knocks her out, causing her to lose her memory.

She wakes up with no idea about who she is, what she's like, or even what she looks like. While trying to avoid being captured by guards looking for a person with a wound like hers, she accidentally ends up in the palace and is given the identity of the boat guy, thus becoming palace eunuch "Xiao Qiangzi."

The new Xiao Qiangzi is a very energetic and happy person, who makes friends easily.

"you'd be able to find your way back no problem," zhao deadpans. "im not wasting my time searching for you."

"how sweet of you, darlin'," he drawls with a roll of his eyes.

( "a-are you two going to finish answering the quest-" "don't bother. they won't." )

"bold of you to come to the conclusion that we'd ever be apart," ayato hums. "unless you're insinuating something of course. in which case..."

zhaoyi leans over and nudges him harshly in the ribs.

"stop being weird," he grumbles.

"well, i'd probably tell them i got caught with something and that im going to be a bit late coming home," thoma says with a smile, caught in the middle of the other two's spat. "i wouldn't want to worry them too much by giving out a lot of detail."

"that's only going to make the tiger worry more," ayato snorts, pinching one of zhao's ears.

"i'd tell thoma i love him," zhao says bluntly. thoma forces a laugh.

"aw how sweet!" the blonde says nervously, having an idea as to where this is going.

"and tell ayato he's not in the will."

"you-"

"guys wait were still on camera-"

( "s-should we stop them?" "... let's just... move on." )

"when this idiot spilt soda all over me the first time we met," zhao chuckles.

"when the dunbass bumped into me and made me drop a tray full of glasses," gallagher responds, a hint of bite to his words.

( "...do they ever stop insulting each other?" "afraid not; it's their love language." )

"too many to say," thoma laughs. "it's never a dull moment here."

"i certainly have a least favourite memory," ayato says. it sounds calm enough, but the side-eye his sends zhao is certainly a give away.

"don't be such a pessimist." zhao flicks ayato on the neck. "i, for one, loved that time where you got so drunk after a meeting that you-"

"enough." ayato shoots him a scathing glare before clearing his throat. "fine. my favourite memory is when we all sorted out our feelings and got together."

the minute "most into pda" came up, the both of them simultaneously point at each other.

"eh? what do you mean me?" the brunette scoffs. "remember that time you grabbed my ass while i was servin' drinks?"

"says the clingy one who always has to be holding my hand our shoulder."

"i'm not clingy."

"you're more of a puppy than a full grown hound," zhao teases with a slight smirk. "neither of us are really averse to pda."

"this one here is the bigger flirt, though." gallagher ruffles the other's hair, pushing zhao's head down lightly. "smooth talks his way out of anything."

"eh, but you love it, don't you, sweetheart?"

all hands instantly point at ayato for pda.

"hmm? i don't know what you two mean," he chuckles.

"you're ankle is currently interlocked with thoma's, and you haven't let go of my hand since the first question," zhao scoffs.

"zhao is probably the least into pda out of the three of us." nudges his knee against ayato's in a teasing manner. "ayato is also the biggest flirt."

"lies. kitty over here is clearly the smoother one."

"only when you provoke me. you do it whenever."

"are you saying you don't enjoy it?"

zhao lets go of ayato's hand and pulls thoma to his side, using the blonde as a shield and lets out a soft hiss.

( "cut! we're cutting! no more fighting on set!" )

The Romance of Hua Rong is getting a second season and they just finished filming! I’m pretty psyched because the original couple is back! I loved their chemistry. As far as I know there isn’t a release date yet, but I’ll keep my eyes on it.

If you’re into light-hearted comedies with a good batch of romance and fight scenes, then check this drama out! Subs are available on Youtube. The plot is silly but the characters make it worth it.

            while weihua lacks a courtesy name ( as these are handed to females when they marry, should they wish to pick one up ), she did give herself a title once she became more and more involved in the political dealings of the world. like cangse sanren or zizhizhu ( purple spider / madam yu ), she adopted the name zhaoyi-nushi [ if anyone knows the actual opposite of the term jun....i’d love to know, i’ve agonized over this....ofc, zhaoyi-jun works too, ig...but just the proper gender opposite of JUN ].             taking the characters 昭意.. 昭 ( zhao ) holds the idea of to show clearly or bright, while 意 means purpose or thought.             however, this is also a play on words with the imperial chinese harem system — within the emperor’s harem, each consort is given a rank and the rank ZHAOYI ( 昭儀 ) is given to the second ranked female, just underneath the empress. this was a deliberate act on her part, stemming from her sect’s history...if she is to be made fun of because of her sect’s background, then she will own it.

Facile preparation of aligned NiO nanotube arrays for electrochromic application

Herein, we report a facile ZnO template-assisted hydrolysis method to fabricate aligned NiO nanotube arrays. The obtained NiO nanotubes are large-area and open-ended tube structures with stacked nanoparticle walls, which can shorten the diffusion distance of ions and increase surface area. As an electrochromic material, the aligned NiO nanotube arrays exhibits excellent electrochromic performances, including a larger transmittance modulation (78.5% at 550nm), fast switching responses (3.92s for coloration and 3.43s for bleaching) and high CE (51.8cm2 C−1 at 550nm). Moreover, the aligned NiO nanotube arrays also depict a high stability and durability after 1000cycles. It is also expected that this synthetic method can be extended to scale-up production of the aligned NiO nanotube arrays.
