They are committed to a S2 premiere in June but as I type this I haven't seen a specific date.

With a lot more dragons in Season 2, we'll be hearing more Valyrian than ever next season.
David J. Peterson is the man who invented the Dothraki and Valyrian languages for Game of Thrones. Well, George R.R. Martin invented them for his books, but Peterson fleshed out Martin’s ideas into full languages, with grammar and vocabulary and everything.
You can see that Valyrian is not just some sort of Pig Latin.
It distinguishes, for example, between singular and plural in commands – something which English has not done for centuries.
Angōs! /an-GŌS/ – Attack! (to one dragon) Angōtōs! /an-gō-TŌS/ – Attack! (to more than one dragon)
Okay, that makes sense in a battle.
But this one is rather odd.
Renīs! /re-NĪS/ – Touch! (to one dragon) Renītīs! /re-nī-TĪS/ – Touch! (to more than one dragon)
What would you want more than one dragon to touch at the same time? Another reason to look forward to Season 2.
We can see that this command shares a common root with a Valyrian phrase used in Game of Thrones.
Dohaerās! /do-hae-RĀS/ – Serve! (to one dragon) Dohaerātās! /do-hae-rā-TĀS/ – Serve! (to more than one dragon)
High Valyrian is a highly inflected language like Latin, Finnish, or almost all the Slavic languages. So using the wrong ending could be potentially disastrous with dragons. Stannis Baratheon had some Targaryen blood; perhaps that contributed to him being such a grammar pedant.

It’s doubtful that Aegon the Conqueror would have been pleased with his dissipated namesake rocking his crown, his sword, and his dagger.

For somebody who barely emerged from his deathbed and had his crown fall off before reaching the Iron Throne, King Viserys still had the energy to challenge somebody seeking to disrupt his succession.

An interview with Eve Best who plays the part of Princess Rhaenys Velaryon “the Queen Who Never Was” in House of the Dragon.
She is actually quite cool. For somebody who was unfamiliar with GoT, she’s become enthusiastic about her role.
I was a complete Game of Thrones virgin. I knew it was a big deal but was unprepared for the sheer, gobsmacking scale of it. Walking on to the set was like walking into New York but instead of towering skyscrapers, it’s Dragonstone. The crew was nearly 4,000 people, which was jaw-dropping.
Like GRRM and many in the fandom, Eve Best sees a connection between politics in the GoT universe and real world politics.
Even though they’re a fantasy royal family and clearly a crazy bunch of people, these shows are endlessly fascinating. They basically show us our own political systems and our own family lives. I remember working on Pinter’s The Homecoming on Broadway and he described family life as “internecine warfare”. That feels about right.
[ ... ]
It is rather depressingly resonant – not just with British politics but with what’s going on all over the world. All kinds of outmoded, corrupt, toxic systems are unravelling, imploding and being dismantled. That feels like Westeros territory.

Fan art of Lord Cregan Stark by artist Winter1231505 at DeviantArt.
It’s not exactly a spoiler to say that Jacaerys‘s visit to Winterfell goes better than Lucerys‘s visit to Storm's End.
Cregan’s father Rickon was seen in the series premiere at the Great Council at Harrenhal.

No spoilers!
I saw S01E01 of HotD and was struck by how accurate Ryan Condal’s description was about the series being “a Greek tragedy happening in slow-motion“.
HotD reflects the times it was conceived in. HotD has its roots from 2014 to 2021 – a period which saw a worldwide pandemic, the rise of neo-fascism, and the spread of misinformation. Consequently, HotD is darker than the 90s kid ASoIaF.
Don’t look for equivalents between HotD and GoT characters. There’s not a HotD equivalent Tyrion or a HotD equivalent Sansa. However the characters are complex, and as in GoT, there are good people who sometimes do bad things and bad people who sometimes do good things.
However, dysfunctional families and major power struggles are seldom very far away in Westeros – regardless of the period.

Say hello to Caraxes!
House of the Dragon ad at Times Square in NYC.
It was posted on August 12th. I’ve had no luck finding out if the ad is still there. It would be tempting to go up to Midtown Manhattan to see it late Saturday.

You know that battle scenes (or post-battle scenes) may be coming up if HotD is looking for amputees as extras for Season 2.
Much of the filming will take place at Leavesden Film Studios in southeast England, but there are other on-location shoots to happen as well. For instance, we’ve known for a while now that the House of the Dragon team will film some scenes in Wales. Now, we have some more details.
On Twitter, @westerosies noticed an ad for extras going up; the ad doesn’t mention House of the Dragon by name, but that’s pretty obviously what’s going on. Read the ad below:
The text of most of the ad...
HBO are looking for amputees for an exciting new project codenamed Red Gun 2 filming in North Wales this summer.
All filming days will be paid and previous experience on a film set is not necessary.
We are looking for men aged 18-55 – all looks welcome.
Filming will take place in North Wales during Summer 2023 – If selected by the Director, it is likely that you will only be needed for a few days within this period (making working as an ‘extras’ easy to fit in alongside other commitments).
Whilst we can’t reveal much at this stage, we can say this is an amazing opportunity to work on set and to be part of a very special production.
To be considered for a role you must first make a profile on Two 10 Casting’s website – www.two10casting.com. The process is free and only takes a couple of minutes. Once you have created your profile we will be in touch with further information and will be able to check your availability for specific roles/dates. When applying please flag on your profile as many skills as applicable.
I would add that it probably helps a bit if you look medieval. Though that probably isn't absolutely necessary.
While it seems related to battle, the article suggests that it could also have to do with dragons. We already know that Vhagar enjoys the occasional snack.
It is cool that the series is recruiting genuine amputees instead of using CGI and other techniques to make people look like amputees.
