Betrayed pt4

Being a previous wanted pirate of the strawhats wasn’t an easy thing to forget, countless of pirates and pirate hunters ran into you and tried to cause problems. It’s a surprise you finally managed to get to an island where they didn’t care who you were, as long as you didn’t cause problems, they wouldn’t either. You wouldn’t lie and say you didn’t miss the crew but what you did had to be done and hopefully your efforts weren’t in vain.

Normal life surprisingly wasn’t that hard to get accustomed to, especially with your new addition, a son. He looked just like his father, same eyes and hair; a carbon clone. It is a bit saddening that the only thing the baby got from you was your ears and picky taste in food; he doesn’t even like bread. Being a farmer allows you to make decent money and provide healthy food for your child, life is good but you can admit it is quite lonely and quiet without the loud laughter of the goofy captain and his loyal crew, you just hoped they understood and didn’t hate you.

You suppose that you knew this day would come eventually, as you said before, you could never truly cut all strings off with the strawhat pirates and that’s why you found yourself standing there, mouth wide in shock, staring at them while they browse through your inventory on your market stand. It seems that they haven’t noticed you yet so you still have a chance to escape before they turn and see you but it’s a bit hard to go unnoticed when your infant child starts crying in your arms. Heads turn unceremoniously in your direction and the look of shock and recognition appears on ones face. “...(y/n)?” It comes out as a whisper but it was clear as day; the entire crew heard and you know right then and there, you were fucked.

The loud excited laugh from your previous captain makes your heart ache, you’ve missed them all so but you know that you can’t go back with them and Luffy will not take no as an answer. Rushing towards you, the crew starts spewing out questions “Where the hell have you been ?!” “(y/n)! Are you coming back with us ?” “You’ve been living here the entire time?” Trying to get as much information they can from you as they can, they’ve forgotten the cause of them noticing you. All speaking at once, you don’t get the chance to even get one word out. The loudness of it all causes eyes in all directions to stop and look, overwhelming not just you but the child in your arms causing him to cry out once again.

That’s what finally quieted the crew but you now the question that’s all on the tip of their tongues. Telling them to follow you, you lead them to your home, not one word spoken from you the entire journey. Opening the door and motioning them to sit down, you watch as their eyes scan the room. You take this time to observe them as well, you notice the way they’ve all changed the past few months; hair cuts, new scars, grown an inch, clothing you’ve never seen them wear before but you can guess that they can say the same about you.

Finally, you answer a question that you were asked previously and it started a chain of questions being thrown your way once again but this time, you answered them and asked a few questions of your own. You told them of them new things you’ve learned, the things you’ve seen, people you’ve met, and even shown them a few items that you’ve managed to acquire along the way. It felt great to catch up with them and see that no matter how much they’ve changed physically, they were sti the same mentally and were still the pirates you’ve grown to love.

Speaking of love, the two men were trying their best to not throw themselves onto you; their love for you never faltering despite the time away from you. They’ve matured and even though they still bump heads every now and then, they made a promise to not be as childish with each other as before in case they were to ever meet you again, you would see and come back to one of them and the other wouldn’t fight but instead respect your decision. Soon the questions begin to die out, suffocating silence beginning to enter and fill the room. You knew what was about to happen and you were in no way prepared for it, perhaps you never would be.

Robin is the first to break the silence “(y/n)...who’s the father of your baby?” The dreaded question had finally been asked, no matter how much tip toeing around you did, you still couldn’t get their minds off the topic that everyone wanted to truly speak on. Keeping the child’s head wrapped so he wouldn’t get cold from the breeze allowed the father’s identity to be hidden, something you were glad of but knowing that you had to answer, that they had the right to know, gave you anxiety.

Taking a deep breath with closed eyes, you slowly start to unravel the wrap, hands shaking as you tried to calm yourself. Everyone in the room waits on edge, especially the two men. It’s a complete shock that now that they’ve finally reunited with you, you’ve had a child; one of their child. Both men are willing to step up to the plate and become a father and with just one look at each other, they make a silent promise to set aside all problems and help the other protect you and the baby.

As the wrap fell from your hand and the child was exposed to the crew, mouths fell in sync. Gasps and breaths being held as heard, echoing loud throughout the room. The two men not believing what they see, the child that you’re hold against your chest is awake and looks around the room, eyes meeting the men before looking elsewhere. Everyone waits for you to speak, for you to explain and you know you can no longer avoid any of it. Heart beating out of your chest, you take one last deep breath and you answer the question they’ve all been waiting for.
