Zoukout 2014
I didn’t travel by myself until I was 24. It was unplanned traveling, actually I was planning to meet my friend in Malaysia, but D-7 when everything is already booked, all of sudden he cancelled it due to work purpose. So rather than waste my flight, I decide to wandering in solitude instead.
There’s no need for negotiation when I travel as single, I can do what I like and eat where I want when I want. Also I only have myself to blame if things don’t go as expected. Which is great for improving my sense of responsibility.
Sometime I find it hard to travel with a big group but I certainly can’t be alone. I don’t want to sound like I am such an anti-social person and unable to relate with others. As anyone who know me personally I am an outgoing person, sociable, talk active and come alive in the company of friends. So I always bumped out with strangers.
So, here are some story of my solo traveling to Singapore.
This is my second time to coming Singapore but this time I did it alone. The purpose of my traveling to Singapore is to attend Zoukout. I always want to go to Zoukout since I was in Uni, but I was poor back then. So I promised to myself that I will to go to Zoukout  when I have enough money.
Here are some pictures of Zoukout 2014.
Stay somewhere Comfortable???
Other solo travelers swear by hostels as a way to meet up people. Yes, I strongly agree with them. But there’s another way to meet up great people which is Couchsurfing. I was staying in Calum (an English man) who works in Singapore for almost 3 years. Before I arrived in Singapore he told me that I will be stayed in a very tiny room, so I really wasn’t expecting much but couch to sleep on. Once I got into his apartment I was surprised that everything almost seemed too nice. I got a Stadium indoor and Lake view even though I slept in maid room. Even better yet, the neighborhood is extremely nice and peaceful.
                                       A view from me Casa
my neighborhood where i usually plug in some music, day dreaming and watching some people jogging with their dogs.
When you travel alone, you’re open to whatever may happen. You can often meet more new people when you travel alone.  I was open to any invitation, plan or opportunities. Calum invited me to his friend’s house party to celebrate Christmas. It began with only 5 people ( me, Calum, Kate form Australia (the Host), Sebastian (the Host), and Mark from UK) but as the night getting late more people coming with diverse nationalities. So I wonder where these people are coming from. Turns out some of them were known from Tinder or friends over friends, most of them didn’t even know the guests. It was hilarious night.
  Exploring Singapore.
I don't alwas love walking alone, but my host were busy at work and i had no companion so I roaming about the cities by myself. The problem is I always ended up in Malls or Random Park. Lucky me I met Cheryl. She's a nice girl i met on CS, She sent me a msg and offering me a help to explore SIngapore from her perspective. I asked her a place where we can just sit for free and having a good conversation. And she took me to a Library...
Ok, i was like 'WTF Library?? i don't read book" lol.. but once i got to the library i was so fascinated by the interior design, i feel like i can just sit all day there... and doing nothing. haha
                                               Me and Cheryl
                                          The Library at Orchard
My very first CS gathering.
I've been lucky enough to stay with Calum, He is an active member if Couchsurfing SIngapore. He took me to CS gathering where i met a lot of CSers and Traveler. Unfortunately, a husband from one of the member passed away that night. So the environment suddenly changed and we decided to took a picture to appreciate him.
May you rest in peace Floris :(
A small gathering with Silu, Momon and Mardjun.
I have been away from them quite long, especially with Silu. and when I finally meet her up its like nothings changed, still crazy as ever.
I smell Christmas...
They said, Orchards is one of the best street for Christmas..
That's all folks.
Thanks for stopping by and read my story.
