Yknow what’s funny?
It’s almost been 10 years since undertale released, 5 years since the first chap of dr, and some people STILL think that Chara and Kris are responsible for the PLAYER’S HEINOUS ACTIONS IN BOTH GAMES.
I WANT TO RIP MY EYEBALLS OUT.
The utdr fandom probably has some of the worst media literacy that I have ever seen (not everyone but Jesus Christ is it tiring to hear people use both characters as scapegoats)

@tellescope (atlas) - from dis
“You were right to come here, mm yes—but Mr. Lynn’s been gone for 1 month, 12 days, 4 hours, 37 minutes, and 8 seconds. 9 seconds. 10 seconds--” As they spoke, they continued piecing together the little puzzle that was on their desk. 2000 pieces with cute little ducks on it...
How many times had they built this? Honestly, Kris was losing track, but Michael had said to keep building until it was safe. Whatever that meant.
“I can take a look at whatever you’re here for, 20 seconds, but if you’re looking for a proper prescription for ailments you’re better at a proper hospital.” A beat as they set another piece. “27 seconds. But then again you’d probably be there if you needed a real doctor anyways. 39 seconds.”
Another piece, though this time they frowned. “I don’t remember three ducks in the pond...”

he hasn't spoken to this boy probably at all---and if he had, it wasn't impactful enough for him to remember. ( he's long past caring about whether he can remember who he's spoken to; blame it on the old age, thank you ).
however, morion would like to change that and soon, if only because he has seen how this kid can throw a sword around and he really likes how it looks. sure, there are plenty of promising swordsmen at the academy, but he in particular has caught morion's fancy. it's no-nonsense, not meant to impress or show off; it's the kind of swing from someone who means business. morion likes kids like that.

Kris has overheard Starscream being his usual snarky, condescending self, and confronts him. It goes shockingly well, but certain truths come dangerously close to being uncovered.
@a-mothers-wings posts are indented
Kris was still mad, maybe not as bad as before since Allen had comforted her, but she couldn’t let it go. She had waited, biding her time, until she spotted Starscream away from his followers’ optics. Welp. This was her only opportunity.
“You!” Kris spoke loudly but kept from yelling. Her em field was prickled with anger and frustration. “Listen Starscream. I will show fealty, I will be loyal, I will follow orders, I will respect you, but I will not fragging stand hearing you bad mouth MY home planet as if there is NOTHING good or wonderful about it!”
She didn’t fly up to optic height, but she landed on a table surface, circuits glowing beneath her skin. “You have an ego bigger than cybertron, everyone knows it. I will feed into it and honestly believe in you, that’s fine. It’s no ‘skin off my nose’. I just honestly am so ANGRY and INSULTED by you right now! You’ve offended me and where I am from! Just because you had ‘bad experiences’ there doesn’t mean your views are CORRECT! It’s not like you gave any benefit to earth so as far as it can be seen, you have no say! I won’t be made to feel lesser, I won’t let my old home be made to be lesser!”
Wow. She was breathing heavy, fists clenched at her sides, and wings flared out. Kris wouldn’t meekly hide away, she was going to be honest with Starscream. A true leader would listen at least, he wouldn’t destroy her for hurt feelings right?
Starscream turned toward the shout, optics already narrowed in a sneer, ready for a confrontation, but his wings twitched in curiosity as he spotted Kris of all people. He watched her flap up to a table top and wondered could possibly have gotten into her.
As she went on, he rubbed his chin with the back of a claw, trying to recall what he’d said that she might be referring to. He’d never said anything to her, but perhaps she’d overheard something. She was certainly put out over whatever it was, given the flare of her wings. They were an unusual design, but a flare was a flare.
“Refresh my memory,” he said, folding his arms across his chest plate. “What exactly did I say that was so terrible?”
Kris was watching him carefully, he wouldn’t destroy her after all this time. Not yet. So as he did not react violently, it did seem to cool her down. “Humans, it was something about my original species” she growled, feathers fluffing up as she fought to reveal what she heard.
“Largely unimpressive and annoying. Then you called earth nothing more than a mudball. I didn’t see who your were talking to but I had the decency and respect to walk away, until you were alone and I could air my anger freely!”
It was a bother, the initial confrontation was heated but Kris wasn’t one to be able to hold the passion and energy of it for long. To her, it wasn’t worth it, it was better to forgive and move on.
Her arms crossed and she turned, halfway away from Starscream. “Earth may not have the technology, but we has so much diversity in flora and fauna. Our nature alone holds so much beauty and ornate intricacies that surpass the knowledge of many. There are ugly parts of my home planet, there are dark parts… sinister people… just look at what I am. I could turn my back on my old planet and forsake it, but then I would be limiting myself.”
Kris folded her wings and held out a clawed hand, looking over the palm of it. “Humans make mistakes and sometimes we learn, some times we don’t, but we are not lesser. Why must you find it so necessary to look down upon a part of who I am? You don’t honestly need to, I don’t think of you any less even though I’m angry and hurt by what you said. Would you have even said it if you knew I was passing and in earshot?”
She looked back to him, no lingering glaring or posturing, but honestly disappointed and… saddened. She kept her em field wide open though, she would choose to remain vulnerably honest with him, something most Cybertronians would avoid.
“Oh that!” Starscream had the good sense to stifle his dismissive laugh before it became obvious. “I said largely unimpressive. If I saw no value in humans, I would have said wholly.” Ok, that probably didn’t help. Venting sharply, he tried to explain. “You humans have accomplished much, considering the short time you’ve had to work, but it was a very short time! I even desired human alliances, from time to time, but…” He shook his head with a snort.
“I suppose the nature there was all right. There certainly is a lot of it, especially when you’re on foot. The view from above is much better.” At that he softened slightly, then narrowed his eyes again, drawing up but inward, mustering an impressive facade to cover whatever weakness his memories threatened to reveal.
“No, I probably wouldn’t have said it if I knew you were there. I like to vent - that’s no secret, but I do have manners. If I insult someone I prefer it to be on purpose. I didn’t want to insult you.”
At first, Kris look affronted as she caught the stifled laugh, but the longer she listened, the better her mood got. So she had jumped to conclusions and chose to be upset, how childish she felt, but this was a good lesson. Her body language relaxed and softened in stance as she listened to the Lord of the Rebirth of Vos.
Kris was a soft spark to say the least. All her hurt melted away as she saw the brief fondness in Starscreams optics as he recalled flying above earth. “Then I apologize for getting so bent out of shape and snapping at you, although I was very careful about when and where.” The small femme bowed to Starscream.
“Thank you for clearing up the misunderstanding and for reassuring me that my heritage isn’t deemed worthless in your optics.” She stood upright once more. “Can you forgive me for my temper?” Soon. Soon she would inquire about something rather new that the seeker had revealed to her.
Starscream watched as her flare softened, and she even bowed. That was a relief. He cracked a half smile. “There is nothing to forgive. I’m no stranger to quick tempers, even among my friends. And I appreciate your discretion in waiting for an appropriate time to come forward. Discretion is… rare. And invaluable.”
Venting, he swept his hands behind his back and turned halfway away. “It’s been pointed out to me that I am… perhaps overly critical. My tongue is as sharp as my wits, you might say. I keep them both honed. But it wasn’t personal. I understand why you stewed over it and didn’t let it go, a slight like that. So… um… I apologize.”
He shifted his wings, trying to settle them somehow. People said apologizing was supposed to make you feel better, but he wasn’t so sure. He felt off, wishing his equilibrium would return, and it was all he could do to keep from explaining further, building up an armor of excuses around himself again. Instead he let his hands drop and clang against the side of his leg.
With an em field left bared open, Starscream probably felt the surprise before a gentle warmth began to grow from the small figure before him. Kris was smiling at him again, feeling an ‘I love you’ in a respectful and caring way. Nothing to forgive. He stole her words.
“It is definitely a honed skill that you have had longer than I’ve existed, you wouldn’t be you without it.” She began, kindness and affection in her tone. “As angry as I was… deep down I already forgave you. Thank you, for wording your apology though. It goes to show how great of a mech you are and an even more incredible leader.” Of course she would verbalize praise because this was no small feat. It wasn’t condescending in the least, but hopefully it reinforced that this was a good thing.
“Might I inquire about your attempted human allegiances? Who were they?”
Starscream relaxed further, sensing the ease in Kris’s EM field. He seldom allowed himself to detect the fields of others, and certainly never extended his own field when he could help it, but hers was perhaps a different frequency… In this case anyway, it was a relief what know what someone thought of him.
His wings flicked contentedly, but flattened in distaste at her question. “Hmph, I never got to really attempt it much. Megatron wouldn’t hear of such things, whenever I brought it up. ‘Weak’ allies never meant much to him, no matter valuable they might be for intel or other reasons. Human geopolitics was a mess, and therefore I thought we could exploit the chaos, gaining resources for ourselves and maneuvering the Autobots and their human allies into costly engagements, while throwing them off our trail.” He shrugged, flicking a wing. “Nothing ever really came of it though, and I focused more on maintaining our own fuel and supply lines, and keeping them secret from humanity.”
He shook his head. “At least, while I was Second-in-Command… At one point I was forced out, and while on my own I sought a direct alliance with some human terrorists who were at odds with the Autobots. They had attacked us too in the past, and wounded one of our officers, but at that point I thought I could trade my scientific expertise for their ability to mine enough Energon to fuel myself and begin my comeback. It didn’t work out, and they betrayed me.” His voice dropped to growl, heavy with resentment. “They cut out my t-cog and left me for dead. After my brief alliance with MECH, I was worse off than before.”
Well. Kris stopped smiling but she wasn’t sour or angry. “I can see and understand the logic, I can.. just…” she pinched the bridge of her nose, glad that none of it came to fruition. She already felt regret bringing it up, but that’s the price she paid for being curious. “Life was hard enough as it was without interference. There school, jobs, relationships, events, politics, etcetera… it was stressful enough doing my taxes. I’m grateful Megatron’s head was too far up his aft to see things your way.”
Oh?! “Human terrorists! That is SO much better…” Kris declared in exasperation. Of course he had dealings with such people, but she didn’t think any less of him. She was about to comment in anger about the audacity these people had with stealing a TCOG, when one word stopped her. MECH.
The pure fear shot through her spark and her wings tightened close to her body. It shook the little femme to the core and she barely recovered enough to pull her em field abruptly. Kris hugged her arms and mentally tried pushing down all the rushing panic that wanted to take front row in her mind.
Damn them. She only could hate them more for what they did to Starscream. Starscream! Focus on him. The present! That’s it!
“What of other planets, surely earth isn’t the only organic planet in existence?”
Hiked wings matched the pique in Starscream’s voice. “Pfft please! Do you even watch your planet’s news feeds? The place is a mess. Always has been. You would never have noticed our ‘interference’.”
He realized before he ranted further that he was supposed to be not insulting Earth again, but the implication that Megatron ignoring his ideas had been for the better had gotten under his plating. It didn’t matter. Kris withdrew her field, but he’d noticed the flash of distress before she did. He knew what she thought of him.
Why was he surprised? And why did he care? He didn’t. A sharp huff as he turned and crossed his arms over his chest hopefully distracted from the slight droop of his wings.
For someone who didn’t care, he was awfully glad when Kris changed the subject.
“No, of course Earth’s not the only one!” It came out harsh at first, but Starscream’s demeanor grew brighter as he shifted into astrophysicist mode. “The vast majority of planets have organic life. Well, among the life bearing ones, that is. You’d be amazed how many there were. There… still are.”
He lapsed into silence for a moment before murmuring, “Nearly all stars have planets. Not all planets are worth visiting.”
Kris was almost always attentive of wings, especially Starscream’s, it was a ‘language’ she was trying to learn and mimic with her own wings. She barely saw the dip, it was easily missable, but they way she saw it was that she had fouled his mood.
“I’m sorry for raising my voice, I’m not so experienced with emotional control when surprised or caught off guard.” It was a minor apology for a minor thing. The femme moved to sit down on the edge of the table, dangling her legs over it to swing slowly. It was a less… bold posture, much more humbling and yielding. That was the intention anyway.
“I know there are countless planets we humans could only dream of visiting, but organic life sustained upon any of them, especially sentient, have yet to be discovered. Cybertronians discovered earth first.” Kris pouted. Listen. Listen here. She didn’t know EVERYTHING but neither did Starscream.
“Tell me about the planets. Are there any pictures? Videos? Please share what you know, I want to learn what I can, not that I could truly retain everything easily, I like listening to you when you talk about these sorts of experiences.” This topic seemed better and truly, she wanted to hear about unknown planets. As she sat there her EMF reopened, a childlike curiosity to the wonder that only Starscream could let her in on. It was story time!
Starscream said nothing for a long time, then finally vented and turned to watch her over his shoulder. Not fully facing her, but enough to keep her in sight.
“There were pictures. Holograms. In Iacon’s Stellar Galleries you could reach out and touch them. Before the war, before the Space bridges were restored, I studied them and wanted to go out and see them. But no.” He shook his head. “We’d forgotten by then, that we used to explore space. And when I got there at last, it wasn’t the way I’d wanted to go. I went because our planet was dead and we were chasing the Autobots responsible, and seeking the AllSpark.”
He snorted, his scowl deepening. “You’d be better off asking them. I’m sure they have pictures. Any records we had were on the Nemesis. I didn’t take pictures, myself. I made the switch from science to war, and I didn’t look back.”
That might almost be believable from his harsh tone, but he couldn’t help his wings edging closer together and higher, the fragility of his own self-deception setting him on edge. He turned abruptly to face Kris.
“Look, Earth wasn’t the first or only planet I was miserable on, and no, the reason I was miserable wasn’t really Earth itself. Every planet has its ups and downs. There are many far worse than Earth. It wasn’t the first planet Megatron dragged us to as he methodically ran our cause into the ground. It wouldn’t have been the first planet I helped him destroy!” He stopped short, not knowing where he was going with that point. His talons twitched and he stared at Kris, as if daring her to make any further accusations. He didn’t have to like Earth. He didn’t have to like any planet. Doing so would have made his job needlessly difficult, when that job was no longer explorer or scientist.
Kris was quiet. The curiosity was muddled with a growing sense of sadness, brushed with regret and disapproval. What could she say? She didn’t have eons of wisdom nor expertise in war, much less space travel. Still, the feels folded her hands in her lap and stared up into Starscreams’s optics as his tone just soured.
It was her turn to take a long pause of silence, learning that sometimes it was better to be slow to speak. “Well.” Kris closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, only to let it out slowly as she opened her eyes again. “Lord Starscream, Wing Lord of Vos, I may have no special significance on my planet but I will say this:”
The pause again.
“I forgive you. I declare that I choose to willfully forgive you for what you attempted to do to the planet I called home. I move forward from this moment wiping the slate clean between us on this matter.”
Respectful. Polite. Genuine. Heartfelt.
Starscream hadn’t asked for it but that was all Kris truly believed she could say. What else did he expect her to say? She had previously apologized for raising her voice and it would have been detrimental to said apology if she snapped once more.
“If I looked… normal again… I would love to invite you and take you to earth to explore peacefully. Not that this is much to offer, you and I both know I don’t have the wisdom or experience in the complexities of your war. Just please… please don’t -sigh- I don’t know… I’m sorry I don’t know what to say….” Kris lifted her hands and rubbed her face.
She didn’t like how he spoke of her friends back in Iacon but she couldn’t help it. Kris knew she needed to remain tight lipped about the details. It kept everyone safe.
An eyebrow raised slightly at the formal address, but his optics stayed narrowed, suspicious. He vented and stepped back a bit, drawing up and away.
“I never asked for forgiveness. I did what I had to do. Still…” He glanced away, wings narrowing together. “a clean slate is nothing to scoff at. I agree. Earth is safe, and we’re on Cybertron, so let’s leave it at that.”
After a moment he turned, wings lowering, moving further away. “You don’t have to say anything. I understand what I tried to do your planet, and what you must think of me. And still you would invite me back to explore. It’s more of an offer than you know. Perhaps one day.”

Apparently, I'm a dummy who's used to queueing everything that I did that instead of post this last night. Final prompt piece coming tonight.
Day 1 - Confession/Vacation
Elio: I LIKE YOU MORE THAN MALASADAS!
~Later~
Hau: Wouldn't it have made more sense if I said that to you?
E: It made more sense in my head until I'd said it...
It's a crime how long it took me to find a ship name. It wasn't on any list and I just found it browsing through tags. Even tho I ship moonlily more, I shipped this first because of those Train On trailers for the games. (Elio is Shohei and Hau is Hoku obvs)
Day 2 - Parallel/Swap
Honestly their existence as a ship is all about parallels. First trainers (first one/first girl, hence the name), in story the best in their region, red oni blue oni but inverse, etc.

“i dont post on here ever but i am so tired of ppl trying to sympathize with non-protesters, Zionists, etc. Protests are meant to be disruptive and people are fucking dying. People protesting at the parade yesterday was amazing. Those people who threw their keys into the water to keep their cars blocking the street in California(?) were amazing. Protests don't work if they aren’t disruptive. People are dying and I am tired of sympathizing with those who decide they are on the wrong side of … history. Protest, be disruptive, yell for change. Palestine will be free and fuck Zionism.”

School was out. the evening light drifting in through the windows, golden and light and catching dusts shadows. They would've been home by now, on a normal day. Extracurricular activities weren't their style, but still they found themselves assigned to her class. a choice made during one of the cold spells where it wasn't them but it still left the expectations on their shoulders to carry out commands even when freedom had been relinquished. ━ regardless, they were here, and class was out, and still they lingered, just a little longer.
But where they went, trouble followed, and they really hadn't meant to break anything. ━ a moment alone, something occupied in the hallway leaving them as the only one in the room, a curiosity with the ukulele Dandelion so often carries ━━ Kris wasn't good with most instruments, only piano as something they could lend their hands to, but Dandelion could make the stringed acoustic sing, and maybe part of them wondered how it felt; how keys were so different than strings, how vibration can make wood come alive, seeing her passion in it, seeing her heart in it, maybe they could learn━━
Tumblr media
snap. like a black cat crossing paths, walking under ladders, breaking mirrors; all they ever carried was bad luck.
Tumblr media
they freeze when they're caught, hand still gentle but almost strangling in this light on the neck of the ukulele as a broken nylon string flails helplessly and curled, the murderer; dead silent, unreadable. ( startled, rabbit caught in snare; they really didn't mean to... )

well aren't you just chock full of useless trivia today. (lance) - @niratias
“You get what you get when you ask for it, and this is what you asked for. If you wanted something better, you should’ve tried breaking down about 25 miles further, I heard that town’s at least got a 10-foot-tall chicken.” They paused for a moment, as if the guy wasn’t currently still on the sidewalk before continuing. “I think it’s a chicken? Heard it was, but it’s not very good at being a chicken.”
Mindless prattling, definitely not important. What was this even about anyways...? Oh, right. Directions. Perfectly normal human things to need. Now where was it he needed to go...
“The car guy’s not gonna help you. Not because he doesn’t want to or thinks your hat’s stupid or anything, but because he’s still sitting in a cooler ‘til his son comes to claim him.” Like that was supposed to be the most normal thing to tell anyone.
“Could try the gas station. Gas station helps sometimes.”
