operation pyrite (burn me to the ground) was peak and operation blade (the day is mine) came very close and every classic CC theme since then was shit. operation basepoint (it's been a long day and i can hear the silence) definitely tried to match pyrite as the sendoff for oldschool CC and I do think it deserves credit for that but it just doesn't have enough juice. battleplan CC opened pretty strong with battleplan pyrolysis (like a phoenix) as the first but it's only with battleplan extinguished sins (the taming of the beast) that they really matched pyrite again imo

I like how both "the witch king" in lingering echoes and the actual witch king in zwillingstürme im herbst will attack other enemy units but the former is a good natured person wrestling for a last moment of control before he is subsumed by the hateful wishes of others and the latter is a display of tyranny that would discard ally and enemy alike for not matching his vision

thinking again when i was reading some academic source that was mentioning types of gladiators and there was one that was called "faggot throwers" or something like that and i was like "did they.. like.. throw small spears or something? like something thats inbetween a javelin and a dart?" and then it turns out no the author was literally translating a Latin slur for effeminate men and these gladiators were considered to be effeminate both in dress and weapon (ranged weapons were associated with "cowardly" gladiators that the crowd would root against and making them dress unmanly heightned the effect of them being the heels)

the problem with blast casters is ifrit is extremely fucking strong which makes her worth paying that 34 dp to deploy and they keep dancing around what makes ifrit so fucking strong when making the other ones. it's not just the long range and the true aoe damage it's the fact that ifrit debuffs the fuck out of everything in that range. ifrits inflicts res down and def down and damage over time and then passively some more res down for good measure, and corroserum inflicts silence and nothing else, and aroma inflicts levitate Once, and they still expect you to pay 32 dp for that just because ifrit was actually worth that 34 dp
