Everything hurts. Your muscles ache. Your blood corrodes the vein. Your bones are rusted iron, pulling you down and down. Above the neck, you burn. The fire melts the inside of your skull, singes your eyelids, sears your swollen throat. You tremble. Van grips your hand. She’s shaking, or you’re shaking, or you’re both shaking. Her head is a blur of pink and red and blue. You think of paintings, how they turn from real images to dots and strokes when you get up close.

You haven’t had that dream for a long time, not since the immediate supplanted the abstract in your hierarchy of shit to worry about. Now you dream of fire, and storms, and bleeding out in the dirt. Now you dream of wolves.

Why are there so little taivan week contributions come on yellowjackers

yeah, we started off strong Monday, but it seems like it's slowed down a bit. I suspect a lot of the fandom may just be busy with work / school since it's mid-week. (I'm honestly behind on the prompts myself rn).

“Taissa! Catch!” She’s whirling before her brain can catch up, her hand shooting into the air. A cold can of beer smacks into her palm with all the power of a line-drive. Natalie flings both arms above her head, whooping. “Fuck yeah! Told you she’d do it!” Tai bestows upon them all a broad smile, cracking the tab and pounding half the can in a single pull. Nat makes a noise like Taissa’s just delivered her first-born, pain-free, and Tai laughs. It’s a bold sound, brassy over the whump of music, and she doesn’t really feel it at all. Not down deep in her chest, in her belly, where the best kind of laughter lives. Not in her head, which is pounding. It, like so much of this evening, is a lie.
