Its been a bit since i last posted some old photos of my care bears collection! This was one of my last collection pics from my college apartment! Not my best photo but seeing all the plushies on and around the couch really gives a good sense of scale. Hope you enjoy!

I am Cree. I had a dream where I gathered with many others in a teepee and elders were in the middle of the teepee giving messages to the people. The messaged I received was to take care of the light ✨️

Now, in my work I share with kids about finding their light ✨️ taking care of their light✨️ so that they can share their light with others. The program is called Waashtewen and it is based on land, art and story. Waashtewen means Light in Cree. ✨️✨️this journey is finding light✨️✨️ Artistry helps us to share our light in beautiful ways

I literally cannot overstate how important creative hobbies are when dealing with mental illness. If you can’t draw, there are coloring books. If you can’t write a novel, you can write in short journaling bursts. If you can’t sing in the shower, you can listen to music. Sometimes with mental illness it feels like we have this dark presence inside of us that is bumping around in our brain and organs, causing problems. It helps immensely to let it out.

I was born & raised out West in Alberta.

I have family and friends there and in B.C.

It's my favorite whirlwind kinda weekend trip.

My heart is in my territory in James Bay.

I run my own company called Waashtewen.

Waashtewen means Light in Cree.

It is from a dream I had where I was in a teepee and an elder told me to TAKE CARE OF THE LIGHT ✨️ So I keep that message close and always enjoy the journey of finding light. I have so much more to share and can't wait to share it here. This new place to be seems a cool place to be me. Ttyl. 🫶🏽
